Lucky Palace Korean Restaurant

We went there at around 3pm on a Saturday for a late lunch and there were lots of tables available. The atmosphere was good for couple or family. We ordered La balbi (B6) and Balgogi (B7). Both were served relatively fast and hot, and with nice rice. I love my La Balbi, but my friend said the Balgogi he ordered seemed to contain two types of beef, with the ones at the bottom of the dish didn't take as good as the ones on the top. Aside from that, we are happy with this restaurant, they served side dishes before meal and cinnamon tea at the end, both were complimentary. Service was attentive and friendly. I think I will come back again.

This is our go to place for KBBQ, there’s an AYCE option but we prefer a la carte. The place is homey, and more relaxed than the typical Korean bbq place. The slices of meat are high quality, banchan is always good, and the sides like the kimchi pancake or galbi tang always hit. We always love the complimentary sweet cinnamon tea at the end of every meal.

The restaurant was presentable, clean and comfortable. The service person was very friendly and polite. The menu offerings appeared fairly diverse, and the set lunch menu had a variety of combinations available. It did a while for the dishes to be readied (around 40 mins) it would be reasonable to assume that wait times would increase as it was not busy at 11am. Although the food was good to taste and the presentation to a high standing, it was a touch on the bland side for me.

Such a great location. The server was incredibly kind and provided wonderful customer service. The side dishes were enjoyable and the main dishes came out fairly quickly. Everything tasted good and it is worth every penny.

I went here for my birthday date with my boyfriend. We had a good time. The place has quick service and it’s pretty clean. The prices are what I expect for Korean BBQ (expensive for me 🤣); there are some combos too. We chose combo A and it was enough for us two. 🌟 The server gave us chilled cinnamon tea and it was delicious!!!

This is a cozy diamond in the ruff. Hidden from view; this place is hands down one of the best Korean restaurants to visit in Houston. You will not be disappointed. Portions are huge!

This is a great establishment. The food is tasty. The manager and wait staff are friendly and readily attend to drinks. The prices are reasonable. They have individual order or group hot pot order options. It's a wonderful option.

My friends usually go here for Korean BBQ. It's one of the best places around town. Everything's always tasty here. Their cinnamon ginger tea at the end of the meal is always a treat.

I live in Charlotte and I must admit. The Korean BBQs in Houston is at a different level.. The staffs were very knowledgeable and attentive. They may not be excellent in their customer service but they're excellent in recommendations and assist with cooking your food. They just added a new concept of all you can eat. Normally they just have packages. Meal 1 to 4 I think. And I'm very satisfied with the option I picked.. The restaurant was very homey and casual. I couldn't ask for a better environment and provide great food.

My friend and I decided to come here after our hoop session. What I like about this place is that it's quiet & the music is not blasting like your typical Korean BBQ spot. We came here for lunch on a Friday & it was empty so they got us seated right away. Since it was just the two of us we chose the Combo A. It comes with 4 meats, steamed egg, lettuce salad, veggie pancakes & several banchan. They didn't bring out the soybean stew which I didn't mind because it's not my favorite anyways. Let's start with the sides, it was pretty mid in my opinion but I did like the macaroni salad. It was light & it balanced out the heaviness of the meats. The green beans & kimchi were decent. Steamed egg isn't my favorite but it came out steaming hot & it tasted pretty good. Their salad was simple but I like the sauce & sprinkles of sesame seeds. My favorite side was the veggie pancakes, it was hot, crispy, flaky & not too oily. The prime beef brisket was okay & kind of bland in flavor. I understand that pork belly is mostly fat but it was just too much. It was my least favorite. The marinated Kobe beef was decent but was missing some ingredients & needed to be marinated a bit longer. My favorite was their beef short ribs. It was tendered, flavorful & not chewy. At the end our server brought us some cinnamon tea. It's kind of like a dessert drink. It had a good amount of sweetness with a gingery after taste. Overall, it was a solid 3.5 stars but I'll give it a 4 because our server was excellent. She came by multiple of times to check on us & she even cooked for us which was nice. The decor is not trendy & more old fashioned but no big deal. For 52 bucks I felt they could've given us more but it was able to feed the two & it did its job. I wasn't extremely full but I didn't leave hungry either. Will I come back? Yes. This will be my go to spot for a quiet lunch with the homies.

Korean is to Houston what Wonderland is to ALICE And please invite me over to drink from your CHALICE You find my words offensive but I don't mean MALICE Even though I agree, I'm cocky and CALLOUS But anyway let's discuss LUCKY PALACE If you know a better place, please do TELL US And yeah I'm one of those arrogant FELLAS It could be worse though, I could be from DALLAS WHAT So if it's so good that you wear it around your neck, it's "Lucky Necklace." And if they open a location in the French Capital, it's "Lucky Paris." And if I do an "American Pie" but replace the Pie with a this Korean food because it's just so tasty and sexy, then I'll end up with a soup-covered "Lucky Penis." Very delicious Korean restaurant with really friendly service and lots of sexy music videos playing while you're eating. This place feels homestyle and friendly and personable and not corporate. And it feels old, like it's been here forever, but in a good way of course. If you think Houston's Chinatown is a wonderland, then that makes this the Palace In Wonderland. We definitely love coming to Lucky Palace, and one of the great things about it is that there are only a couple of Korean restaurants that have this feel and this sort of taste and excellence located in Chinatown, so without having to go up to Spring Branch, this is one of the better ones you can get. We highly recommend it. If you keep repeating "I want Korean food" every time I say it, then it's Lucky Parrot. And if you get committed because you go crazy over this food, then it's Lucky Padded (cell). In terms of things that they could improve, I would say that they should make the spicy soup actually taste spicy, for me, that would help a lot. And if there is a fire here while you're here, it's Lucky Panic. And if you order a Soupuos instead of just Soup, then it's Lucky Palindrome. And if you bring Mel Gibson and Tina Turner here to help you navigate, then it's Mad Maps: Beyond Palindrome. Coldplay said it best. "In my Palace, in my Palace, Were Korean soups that I couldn't taste, I was lost, oh, yeah. I was lost, I was lost, Crossed state lines I shouldn't have crossed, Well not without a handgun, oh, yeah. Yeah, how long must you wait for your food? Yeah, how much must you pay for your food? Yeah, how good is this Korean food tho rly amirite?"

I came here a few years ago and was back today as a local. Omg so good!! The galbi was so buttery and flavorful. Their banchan tasted good too; the kimchi had perfect flavor. I was kinda sad they didn't have kimbap on the menu so we got the kimchi cal lion pancakes instead. It was pretty good and large portion! We were also given a complimentary cinnamon tea (Sujeonggwa). It was SO good! It had a nice blend of spicy and sweet. A perfect way to end the meal.

The is a great little family run Korean restaurant. I got the bulgogi. It came with rice, and a variety of different sides. I really liked the rice, and the bulgogi. At the end of the meal they gave me a a really good drink. I'm going to have to do more googling to figure out what each thing was. The meal was a little pricy but their portion size was pretty decent. They have an all you can eat that requires at least 2 people if I read the menu correctly. I'm going to have to find a friend and come back here soon.

Delicious! The servers are trained really well and the bon chon was nice and fresh. I luckily didn't have to wait when I arrived but within 15 minutes they had a line.

I ordered the LA Galbi and the Kimchi Jjigae. The LA Galbi was good but for the price, definitely would've wanted more meat. I've had other places that give way more meat. Good flavor though. The kimchi jjigae was also good but i'm used to it being more sour but still, so good. The banchan was delicious. No critiques.

We used to frequent this restaurant but hadn't eaten here in a couple of years. It turns out the restaurant is under new management and the new owners aren't even Korean, they are Mainland Chinese. In short, don't eat here...the food is both of bad quality and ill taste. The lady serving us was nice and apologetic when I mentioned to them in Mandarin that their food is off; but make no mistake, the food is abysmal. Not only is the meat old, tasting slightly sour, and curdled; they aren't even seasoned correctly. The food is now more Chinese-Korean than Korean in flavor. The "Korean" side dishes, perhaps the hardest of the Korean cuisine to master are really off-putting now. Many of the side dishes aren't even using typical Korean ingredients. We will never return here and will have to warn our friends to stay away as well. I must also have to bring up that the other high ratings on Yelp corresponding to the time I write this review must be from those who have never eaten proper Korean food. Pay attention to the reviews and who wrote them...a lot of these people must be giving praise out of sheer ignorance.

Happy July 4th!!! Had the privilege of the owner cooking for us & teaching us the temp controls for which cuts of meat. Started our savory journey with pork belly, all the side dishes came immediately also, including steam egg and pancake. Topping off with a pallet cleansing cinnamon tea. What an awesome treat!!! BTW, we had the combo for two and was still stuffed; didn't even tough my rice.

Lucky Palace has been a long time favorite in my family-great service, food, and price. Our last experience was disappointing...Upon arrival our server was taking our order and then cut us off as we were ordering to tell us to stop talking. When our food came to the table, our server said he didn't have time to check on us because he had so many other tables. The pancakes looked like they were scraped off the pan and then thrown on the plate. They used to look nicely cut and placed. Some of the meat arrived frozen on the plate. The egg soup was awful. Not sure if ownership switched, but this used to be my favorite restaurant in Houston. The service was excellent. Food was exceptional. Very sad we had this experience.

Food itself: Other than the Korean pancake and standard rice, the rest of the food did not taste fresh. It tasted old and off. Even the side dishes tasted weird. Service: the staff was friendly. Overall: I'd normally give it a 2 or even 3 stars. But despite the friendly staff, the food did it for me.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Food was watered down and bland. We ordered three soups and all tasted like watered down and not make right. Flavors were way off. Kalbe was okay. The waitress didn't seem to know the menu or the food as she kept asking us which one when we placed our order and asked us to point to the item on the menu. The Gamjatang tasted way off. The broth didn't have pork taste. It was like a soup mix and they just added the pork inside. The galbitang tasted like water with green onions. My husband said his seafood soontofu tasted like soup mix and every watered down. We barely touched our food. My daughter had just white rice and my son ate the kalbe. All the other food was barely touched.

The food was not good at all. I came because my coworker loves beef bulgogi so we decided to give this restaurant a try. She told me it taste funny when she tried mine. She ordered it too but the server forgot her order. The service was lacking so please take the reviews for service seriously. The place was quiet as we were the only two people in there for lunch which was a red flag. I would advise not to go here at this time.

Great service! Place is clean and service was good. The owner specifically. The person cooking our meat would forget us and was hesitant to changing the grill although it was filthy. We ordered the pork neck soup, corn cheese, and the 2 person bbq exchanging pork belly for the bulgogi. The pork neck soup tasted watered down, flavor lacked, and the pork was tough. Corn cheese was very liquidy, flavor was good but texture was off The meat were not good quality, flavor was very salty and very sweet, the sides that went with it were lacking freshness. The soy bean sprouts tasted spoiled. I wouldn't come back.

My mom took me to this place after going there w/ my aunt a while back. This place is nice and cozy w/ k-pop music videos playing on their TVs. Not all the employees, especially the cooks in the back are Korean, but the service was helpful and friendly. We got a seafood pancake w/o bell peppers, which was great. Their army stew, also great were either single-serve or in a hot pot, depending on which one you choose. Instead of rice juice after your meal when you pay the bill, they give you this cinnamon drink instead. Overall this is one of the best Korean restaurants in Bellaire I've been to, and I hope to come back here soon again! :)

This is my all time favorite KBBQ! On top of having the best cucumber sides (oi muchim I think) they also have the most consistent quality meat! I feel like somethings when I go to other restaurants the meat can be hit or miss but here I always know it's going to be amazing. Also the staff is always a 10/10 for service! I really love how they will try and help you cook the meat!

I've been here a bunch of times even reviewed it as my top Korean restaurant I recently went yesterday and the quality of the food has really went down the waiter /servers that once worked there no longer do It's no longer the same experience

Craving Korean BBQ and decided to check this place out off the strength of Yelp. Just left super full and satisfied! We ordered the combo A for 2, the corn cheese, and a kimchi fried rice (way too much food for two ppl but go big or go home right?). I loved the combo, it's actually why I decided to come here instead of another place. Sometimes you just want a little sample of everything. Joon (sp?) and her sweet staff not only cooked our meats to perfection for us but also gave us a little run down of how you traditionally eat and pair everything. The side dishes were all pretty good, my fave being the eggplant. The corn cheese was exactly what we thought it would be, which... cool. How can you go wrong with warm corn topped with melty, twisty cheese. The only thing I did not care for was the kimchi fried rice -- but to be fair, it was my first time having it so I have no frame of reference. I found it to be bland and lacking something. They also ended the meal with a complimentary cinnamon tea which had good flavor but after a couple sips, I was pretty sure I became diabetic. Nice touch though! Overall, I will definitely come back to visit Joon and her great staff. They were so warm & welcoming from the second we walked in and made us feel like we were invited to eat at their house. So great to have awesome food and to be served by everyone with a smile.

Lucky Palace is amazing deal with extremely friendly customer service! I visited on a Sunday and the restaurant wasn't too busy. I ordered the Combo A as it seemed to be best bang for buck as far as their BBQ selection goes. Everything I had was delicious and it came with a ton of sides. The Combo A meats were pork belly, beef brisket, marinated beef, and mushroom. All very delicious. Recommend this place if you're craving Korean BBQ!

Pretty solid korean bbq!! Outstanding service! Got the combo B and the dolsot bibimbap. The bbq was good. I loved how the staff was attentive and helped us grill the meat. We were amateurs and were cooking everything wrong haha. The meal also came with vegetable pancake, soup, salad, and a bunch of side dishes. Very fun to eat! For the price we paid, I wished there was more meat tho haha I'm such a fatty. The bibimbap was alright tbh compared to other Korean restaurants. Overall, such an enjoyable experience! Wished there was more meat tho haha

Visiting friends for the night & they brought us here & I am so happy they did. All the sides were good, especially the kimchi. They were a little slow due to being short staffed.

My absolute favorite Korean spot I now drive from cypress to visit. My girl Sandra is the sweetest! I never take a picture of my food lol so I am uploading an older picture but it's always a win all items I've tried . And I bring everyone here when they visit Texas lol win win for me yum

I am so lucky to have found Lucky Palace! Coming from Dallas, the K-town capital of Texas, I didn't know if I would be able to find any great Korean food. But Lucky Palace certainly meets my high standards. We ordered the Combo A x2 for a party of 4. It had steamed egg, soup, and kimchi pancake accompanied with the assortment of meats for this combo. Their side dishes/ban chan were delicious!! Highly recommend this place. You won't regret coming here.

I tried this place out for the first time last week, and I had to come again for lunch today! Food and service is A+! I've only been there during lunch, and there's been one waitress working the tables. She's very nice and takes her time explaining how things can be eaten and what sauces to pair with your meat. It's a great place for someone who hasn't been to a Korean BBQ place before. I've also noticed that they seat people at every other table, showing that they are being cautious with COVID. I really appreciate their efforts in making it a safe environment. Combo A is very delicious and is a great portion for 2 people. We both felt stuffed every time we went. They have a very good banchan selection. I will admit I think it's strange that rice isn't included in the combo, but they give you a steamed egg, a vegetable pancake, a delicious soup, salad, and this wonderful cinnamon ginger drink at the end. It's all so good, I don't mind spending the extra buck for rice. Last time we got the kimchi fried rice, and it was yummy. Definitely worth trying if you like kimchi! This time we got the Corn Cheese, and I also recommend it if you love corn and cheese as much as I do. All in all, great food and service for a full belly, yum!

Korean restaurant with BBQ and other non-BBQ entries. We had several dishes including tduckbucki, spicy pork BBQ, tofu stew, and bean paste stew. Service was friendly but sparse, side dishes were OK but not great, rice was not fresh, and food was fair, edible, but not memorable. Family friendly Korean restaurant with fair price and efficient/friendly services--3.5.

It was our last night in Houston and husband was having issues with a tooth. It was bothering him, but he was kind of hiding it. At the same time was irritating me with what he wanted for dinner. Chinatown was PACKED Saturday night, so I believe he wanted to eat quickly and go back to hotel to rest for the drive home the next day. This place was really busy. You couldn't really tell either until you got inside. Every time we go by, it never looks busy. Husband got the bulgogi stew, but picked out the bulgogi. The kids wanted LA galbi and bulgogi so that's what we ordered. The bulgogi and galbi were decent. I'd like to come back here whenever I'm in town.

Did they change ownership? My husband and I have gone a few times in the last few months and have noticed the food and customer service has been off.

I got to check this place out with a good friend on a Thursday evening and it was a really nice and unique restaurant in Chinatown. First off the staff. The owner June was incredibly nice and friendly. She chatted with us about the Restuarant and what they serve which was so nice. My friend and I shared a chicken dish that was $29.99. Mind you we didn't know it was spicy because the menu didn't say that. To our surprise it was SO good and really spicy! Ask your server about all the dishes before you order it so your not surprised. The bbq menu is lacking unfortunately. I was hoping they'd have duck, chicken or shrimp but all they serve is beef, pork and squid which was a bummer because we wanted to try the Korean bbq and we couldn't because they didn't have a variety of options. Regardless our food was amazing! I was so hungry and the food tasted amazing despite it be8ng so spicy. When I come back to Houston I will be eating here again!!

Randomly selected this place among the plethora in the area and were glad we did. They were closing at 3PM and we got there at 2:15, so it should have been plenty of time. There was only one other table, and whether we looked clueless, they wanted to move us out as quickly as possible, or they were just really nice (maybe a combination of all :D), our waitress actually took the time to sit there with us and cook some of the meats, tell us about different dishes, how to eat some of them (like lettuce wraps), and what sauces to mix or try with different meats) Everything was really good, and the $45 meal for 2 was plenty enough, coming with four different meats, lettuce for salad wraps, a mix salad, two types of soup, banchan, and steamed egg, it was a good of Korean bbq as it comes. We did end up staying a bit over, but they were really nice the whole time and very attentive; would definitely go back!

I can't believe I didn't check out this place sooner! We came around noon today (Sunday) and were immediately seated. Although there were only two servers, the service was great as they were very nice and friendly! They told us what each of the side dishes they were putting on the table was, which I thought was very thoughtful because all the other Korean restaurants I've been to merely put down the dishes and walk away. Food took a little while to come out but, nonetheless, they were all tasty and very affordable, considering the portion sizes! They even gave us this complimentary digestive tea that they made and it was very unique! Overall, I would recommend this place! It also has very spacious parking outside, which is a major plus during the crowded weekends around Chinatown where people are rushing to find that one parking spot.

The spot has a cute interior. We mainly came here for the LA galbi but it was dry, and tasted unmarinated. The texture of the galbi was good so I feel like the potential wasn't met. The lunch size galbi is half the size of the main entree version. The cold noodles were very good though! 4/5 stars for the cold noodles! The Mandu soup was solid. Over all the place is 3.5/5.

My bibimbap came with no meat. Food is good but I'm very disappointed because it was not filling because of the lack of meat. Update: Actually all of our food that was suppose to have meat did not have meat. Very disappointed that we weren't at least notified. I understand it was the end of the day but they could've told us beforehand.

This place is SO good! I went here with 4 other friends and we were thoroughly satisfied. To start we got a large fried dumpling appetizer and they were hot and crispy just like I like. It came with about 12 I think and was a great starter. For dinner we split a single portion of the pork and chicken bugolgi and a large portion of the beef. All three came out hot and sizzling. All three were wonderful. My favorite was the pork but do be warned that it is very spicy! All this was more than enough for the 5 of us and we even had a little beef left over to take home! Overall this was a great price with great portions and our server was very helpful telling us what all we should try and how much we needed for the five of us. Next time we're in the mood for great Korean food this will definitely be the first place in mind!

Didn't know what to expect from their entrees as this place seemed more known for their barbecue but I was surprised! My sister and I ordered their Albap (3/5) , bibimbap (4/5) , and Mushroom Tofu Soup (5/5). Service was really friendly, but I had to wait another 10 minutes after my sister got her food to get mine and we another 5 for our soup. Their cinnamon tea was also good! Overall, it's a solid spot.

This place is awful. Do not go here. Who is reviewing this food? I spend $50 for lunch Togo and threw it into the trash. If you like quality food, do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. This was scary! I ordered chicken and pork bulgogi. YUK!

NOT so Lucky palace. And by that I mean I feel bad for the staff. You got basically two waitresses running the whole show. Working quick and even efficient but it's just too much work for two people. They literally have to be everywhere that service lacks. You won't get the bill, refills, or anything missing for a good while. They only have time to take the order, bring out the order and cook the order for you. I suggest giving the option for customers to cook for themselves. Or no option at all if it's always going to be a 2 person show. It's simply too much work and timing has to be perfect for them to come back and flip the meat in case it burns. Food was great tho, a little pricey and the meal meant for 4 people didn't really fill us up. I also love that they have a lot of condiments on the table to eat with your bbq. It makes your table overview look amazing. They also give you complimentary tea at the end of the meal

Y'all! This place is so good! Never had Korean BBQ but this set the standard really high! Went with my hubs and twin 11 year old boys. Over ordered bc soooo much food comes with the combo meal. We got the Combo B which comes with lots of meats, sides (like kimchi, cucumbers, seaweed salad, beans, and more), lettuce for wraps, lettuce salad, egg something, veggie soup, and a pancake. Oh and cinnamon tea at the end. We had no idea what we were doing and ordered rice (which we all recommend, super sticky), seafood pancake, and shrimp tempura. Needless to say, we're bringing food home. Recommend it all but def go with the combo!

Food was not good at all. Pork had smell to it which typically means it's old meat. Service was good though. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I had been to Lucky palace in February to celebrate with a friend and this place had a great spread of meats for BBQ. The staff was very warm and friendly.

Came here for dinner because I heard of their Korean BBQ special. It's located in the same plaza as Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot. We had 4 people and got combo A. It came with various meat and refill on side dishes. It also came with Korean pancake and soup. I enjoyed the dressing they had on their salad but was unsure if they did refill on the salad. The waiter comes by to cook your meat for you and cut it up as well. It's not the best Korean BBQ but it was decent for the amount and taste. The restaurant has booths and tables. They didn't play Korean music but more American music. It was surprising to hear Fetty Wap (I think) at a Korean restaurant. I'm used to KPOP every time I go to a Korean place. On the walls where the booths are, there is a call button that you can press if you need assistance. Quite interesting. I never saw something like this before. At the end of your meal, they give you compliment cinnamon tea.

I've been coming to this place for YEARS. As a Korean actually born and raised in Korea, this was the only place I found that upheld the same standards as far as Korean food is concerned and the only Korean restaurant that me, and my family would go to. Immediately upon walking in something felt different. I didn't recognize any of the staff there with whom I'd typically speak to in Korean. Getting our food, after a few bites I could tell it didn't taste the same. We get the same dishes every time, the "calamari" was decent. The fried potatoes were regular plain potatoes and not the sweet ones they usually use. The spicy pork bulgogi had bell peppers in it which I've never seen them do before. The taste was off, and the cold buckwheat noodles that are supposed to be spicy definitely were not. The noodles is one of my favorites and have been eating since I was a kid. I read some other reviews and it seems the owner and management have changed. The manager I assume was the Chinese lady with a jade bangle and bob haircut was very pushy and in fact slightly rude even! The way she spoke to one of the employees who looked to be older was not acceptable. And when I had asked for to-go boxes and wanted to pack them myself, she wouldn't let me even when I told her I wanted to do it, as to combine my rice. Instead she told me she would do it and get another box. Why would I want another box when I asked for a bigger container and could fit everything into just one singular one?? The cinnamon tea I felt I could detect a little bit of ginger. That was off putting. My husband could tell I was extremely bothered by this dining experience today. He in fact asked me was something different because the food, the exact same dishes we always get didn't taste the same. Another reviewer stated it's not Korean food. It's like Chinese Korean food, and I'd have to agree. It's as if the quality and taste has been diluted. And definitely more salty. One of the responses by the "owner" stated that their recipes are authentic Korean since it's inception in 2014. Well, the recipes may be Korean, but the food result isn't! They've definitely changed some of the flavors and we will not be going back there, EVER!! I had initially planned to take my nephew there as he's never had Korean food, and I was excited to have him experience a part of my culture. No longer is that aspect there. Simply put, it is not the same quality of taste and I can't take my nephew somewhere that is a part of my culture and not be proud of it...

This was my first time here and the food was spot on delicious. Ordered the mushroom and tofu soup with the spicy cold noodles. They were both excellent. However, the winner is the spicy cold noodle soup. Will definitely return.

ALRIGHT YALL LEMME TELL YALL HOW GOOD THIS PLACE IS!!! This is my favorite kbbq because the price and amount of food you get is the perfect amount! Every time i come, the staff is always so nice and reallg go the extra mile for their customers! I'm a huge fan of their cucumber kimchi and they always accommodate me by bringing out a bigger portion! Their shrimp tempura is always cooked to perfection, so crunchy yet so soft idk how they do it! Their selection of meats are always bomb, I'm a huge fan of the pork belly, i love how one of the staff members recommended we eat with garlic , kimchi, jalapeños and a paste they bring out! Omg y'all it's so good 10/10! My husband and i enjoy coming here, it's a great place, they always have kpop going on and i mean who doesn't love that! Another highlight menu item has to be * their salad I know i know ... salad? Yo idk what dressing they add but JESUS it's amazing!

Disappointing experience under new ownership, owners were nice, but we didn't get any salad which we ask and get charge, out of rice ($1 each), service was definitely lacking, will not return.

Under new ownership. This used to be the place we went for for birthdays and special occasions. We also used to bring anyone new in town to experience the best KBQ restaurant in town. The new owners have physically cleaned up the place. Tables and menus are less sticky! They charged us for extra salad. I get nothing is free in this current climate.... However, the optics are bad. We've visited twice in 30 days. They didn't notice. And they're going out of the way to not mention the change in ownership.

I thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. It smelled amazing walking in. The restaurant is rather small with about 15-20 tables. Everyone was nice, and the waitress explained what everything was. We had the fried dumplings, ComboA (Prime Angus beef brisket, fresh pork belly, marinated kobe style beef, marinated beef short rib. With steamed egg soup, soybean soup, lettuce salad & vegetable pancake) and the kimchi fried rice. Definitely enough food for 3-4 ppl, so we had food totake home, with there only being 2 of us. The fried dumplings were very good! The meats were great, marinated beef and short ribs were my favorite. The accompanying salads were tasty, not too sure about the macaroni or potato "salads?" The soup was not my personal favorite but was liked by my friend. I loved the kimchi and the cucumber salad. Didn't like the runny egg in the fried rice, but the dish itself was ok. The iced green tea is unsweetened. Overall, I liked the meal, and will return to try other menu items.

I came here on a Friday night and it was not busy so we were seated right away. And this was my first time getting Korean Barbecue, so I did not know what to expect. Service: Our server was super helpful. She was so nice and came to help us very frequently cause we had no idea what we were doing. She constantly refilled our sides and helped cook our food. The owner of the restaurant also came over very often to make sure we were ok. Both the server and the owner were very hospitable. Food: I was with a party of 5 so we ordered the Korean Barbecue style B, spicy chicken, and fried dumplings. Everything was more on the pricier side, so we did not want to order too much. The dumplings came first and we really good. They were fried perfectly and the meat tasted really good. Then the chicken came. My group had mixed reviews on the chicken. I thought it was just ok. I the flavor was ok but I think I would order something else the next time I come here. The Korean barbecue consisted of Kobe beef (marinated and unmarinated), brisket (marinated and unmarinated), squid, and short rib. I really appreciated that they had squid in the mix because it was really good and different from the rest of the meat. All the meats were amazing. It came with a lot of sides so we could really mix it up and try all the meats in several ways. Atmosphere: The atmosphere of this place was really homey. Very hospitable. Ehhhh. This place has really fallen by the wayside. When it first opened the quality of the meat was much better (although the service was much worse.). Parking is incredibly accessible. Most times I park right in front of the restaurant. There's a large lot that's shared with several different restaurants/establishments but there's never a problem since the size of the lot is so huge in comparison. Once you enter you'll be greeted by a server who'll seat you. The right and left sides are lined with booths. The center is filled with regular table seating. At each table there's that traditional self-cook grill that's typical of Korean BBQ restaurants. Pretty much always get combo A since it's the cheapest and most in line with what we like: prime angus beef brisket - overmarinated pork belly - too thick of a cut marinated kobe style beef - this is one of the better ones. A bit on the spicy side and pre-cut into small bite-sized portions. LA marinated beef short rib - over-marinated. Vegetable Pancake - very thick but also pretty flavorful. I'm guessing they used a loooot of flour. I kind of like it although I do recognize it's not supposed to be quite as thick and most of it is filler not vegetables. BBQ Salad - an interesting dressing that does indeed taste a little like the korean BBQ marinade. Fresh greens. Rice - undercooked. The shining star was really the service- they came and turned all our meat for us which I've never seen them do here before. And they were quite talkative (when prompted) and pleasant. In the end though the quality of the meat/food just isn't good. And it's not even really that much cheaper than to be expected. At least Jin BBQ gets the rice right.

True to its name, I feel lucky to have tried this place because I wasn't expecting to have awesome Korean food in Chinatown! I'm always super weary of eating Korean food in Chinatown because it sometimes just ends up tasting Chinese. This place is owned by a sweet Korean ajumma and the staff was super attentive and friendly. There was plenty of seating when we went on a Friday night. The interior is clean and decorated with the traditional Korean theme. This is one of the few restaurants in Houston that serve gamjatang, and it totally hit the spot. The bulgolgi is also the best I've had in Houston. The flavoring is on point and the meat was cooked perfectly. This may now be my go-to Korean restaurant :)
