The most useless, cashier ever at self service. I have a Master card insurance card with MONEY AVAILABLE, Safeway takes it no problem. I asked the guy monitoring self service and he basically said "not my problem" I amazed these guys can get a job anywhere. Worked at food service all my life and i know about Customer Service. Very disappointing.

I come here for great weekly specials, like 5 for $5 ea=5 for $25 & buy 5 gallons of milk get the next gallon free. Get a free Lucky You card and get freebies plus save points for $ off or free items. Not a fan of the new layout and the free standing cold case that used to be between the bakery and meat section is gone and they refused to give a rain check for an item that was out of stock, not a problem when they had the cold case for the meat section. Also they have no one in customer service, no matter what time you go there is no one to help you in customer service. They don't plan for sales either and sometimes the freebie doesn't exist at their store, they don't stock it.

Don't bother with Lucky unless you are very young. They treat older patrons like idiots and heaven for bid you want to pay in cash. The check out person was so rude and I am a nice person, but my hands are not what they used to be so it takes me a second longer. He made a growing sound. What a jerk. I will never go back. They don't have enough staff, the staff they have are of no use. There is nothing nice about this place. It is not clean, heaven forbid you need to use a restroom, that will never happen. The food and bakery is over priced. They are mean and rude when you try to use your coupons, digital or otherwise. The place just sucks on every level.

I die a little bit inside every time I try to get food from the deli or hot food counter. Not only is the food disgusting, but the people who work there are incompetent and also disgusting. It's impossible to get help because there's never anyone there. They reuse the same utensils in all the different foods just by dropping them in dirty water between. Just ask yourself why the food at their deli is orders of magnitude worse than the food at the Safeway deli. Why even have a deli at that point? Just get rid of it.

This so called Grocery store is WACK! Came in here asking about some cash and the Lady I spoke too couldn’t even Make eye contact with Me Let alone Finish our conversation that I was trying to talking with her about, practically cut Me oFF Just to talk to someone else pretty Much saying that she wasn’t interested in talking to Me to begin with, And the second one Just had a straight up attitude which was uncalled For Considering I Never had one to begin with. And because oF My background and the way I am general I gave it right back her! I don’t play that game whether iF your a Man woman whatever. And the stupid thing about this was I think the way I was dressed and Looked! IF you’re gonna treat people bad because you have something against the way they Look, then why are you even working. Great way to Lose business! Might wanna keep that in Mind.

Parking lot was full at 10am Saturday morning. Never seen that before. They must be renting out spaces now. Went to target instead.

Nice store with huge variety of stuff. There is also a party section. There is a Poppy Bank. We love this clean store.

Lucky's grocery store on Masonic & Fulton is so important to the area. I particularly feel that the fried chicken is better than Popeyes or Safeway. The SF. Fulton Street store is clean and organized. I was surprised to see Krispy Kreme donuts sold in the store.

On a mission to find this place, I almost didn't notice it when I was walking down the sidewalk; it blends in nicely with the neighborhood. Inside, it is huge! This supermarket is supremely nice. So clean. So full of delightful products. So bright... Super wide selection, prices similar to other stores. On a weeknight after 8 it was nice and quiet. I didn't interact with a single person working here because they have self checkout. (And I like this.) Both of the things I wanted were on sale, and I liked this even more. A truly idyllic shopping experience.

Always out of the things that I want and some of the things I need. Amazon and Whole Foods are much better. Doubt that I will order from there again.

If I could give zero stars, I would, this location is always understaffed, literally one person working the checkout everytime and it's usually the super slow older woman. they keep the weekly adds in stock for you to use even when they are expired so that doesn't help at all

Luckys posted these digital coupons but these are not loading to my account. Even worse, Fulton store at 1pm Friday November 8,2024 had no staff who can manually apply discount to customers. The newbie crew even asked me to pay these at full price. WOW, talking by about customers service ... WOW you cannot believe it. SaveMart/Luckys on one hand has dropped their service - all these weekend sales are bullshit. My next stop is BBB.org

Delivery came on time. I have everything I ordered. Good deals on wine and beef. I would make this market a go to.

Our lunch today was delicious. The pasta options are superb - we had tagliatelle with mushrooms and a "meatball pie" (a meatball pasta bake within a flaky pie crust in a thick, creamy tomato sauce). Both outstanding. The coffee is delicious and the donuts are top notch. This place deserves a stronger following.

Occasionally I get a rootbeer float on a warm day. Nice gentleman running the place. They also have some simple old fashioned sandwiches there for about $5? Rare these days. Good place to get something and sit across the street on a sunny day. Of course ice cream is the draw.. but there is candy for kids, too. Drop by for the feeling of older days.

Service is very bad and certain employees just don't want to help you. They don't want to help people that don't speak English.

Positives first! The store was clean, organized, well displayed! well lit, very secured! Bravo! A very calm environment, with some decent deals for the area. We found what we were looking for and had help from a tall guy working the front. Very polite and friendly! The pumpkins look perfect on the porch at my sister house! There's a bus stop right out front and a Starbucks right across the way, lots of parking! (2 hours FREE and electric chargers!!) and disability access! Negatives: I don't often have negative comments but today I was not happy with female up front at the registers, My 17 year old had been given "the up down" by a certain cashier that appears to be noted in several complaints this month and Now I can't help but wonder what's the deal with that? We came in twice and avoided her line after seeing her check out my son and was just seemingly awkward and unprofessional as others stated. We were over charged but didn't want confrontation so we turned to yelp to safety let management known that she is making customers uncomfortable only to see the other reviews and sincerely hope something is done. As one of the other commenters said corporate will not do anything? I don't see us returning to this store as we leave town next week. I would absolutely shop here again if we come back to the beautiful Windy City again. Thanks for the pumpkins! happy Halloween!

Best crunch coffee cake anywhere! Yasukochi's has been a family tradition of ours since the 80's. Nothing better - wish they had their own or a contracted delivery service.

I had some time to write this review because it's 7pm and the self checkout is closed, so I'm waiting in this long ass line. They closed the second doors during Covid and never reopened them. I hate you Lucky

I do not understand Lucky Market and Safeway's reluctance to train their deli workers at all. Every other week I go in to get a sandwich and am greeted with a blank face of a new worker who can't make a sandwich that is written on the board above them. Today I went in and ordered an Italian sandwich. While he was making it I was distracted talking to a friend, who also received a similar sandwich when he checked. This is the Italian sandwich I got off the menu today at Lucky.

I have shopped here for the past six years, but I am done. Over the last six months or so, this store has gotten worse and worse while their prices go higher and higher. At this point, the prices here are about 20-40% higher than any other grocery stores in San Francisco, including Whole Foods. And for this premium price, you get a homeless village in front, empty shelves on all their sale items, 2 to 3 of their self checkout machines broken, and a store that pays for two to three security guards but can't hire a second checker with a line of twenty people. I can think of nothing that this Lucky/SaveMart does well. There are some lovely people who work there, and there are some absolute sociopaths who routinely abuse anyone needing help. The deli and meat counters are particularly rude every time. The city would be well-served if this Lucky were to close down and allow a competent grocery store to open up here. Go to the Safeway on Webster instead - it may be chaotic, but at least you can check out in under an hour.

My go t neighborhood store that is solid. The HIGHLIGHT of this store is the unique staff. I mean from Meat/seafood, self checkout, cahier, bakery, pharmacy and so on... It's like a second family. Also, you have the cool local shoppers that you see at times is a nice thing post Covid-19 to talk and catch up. Oh and shout out to Hoo-Raw. I've been a loyal shopper but I've decided that I will no longer shop at Lucky's anymore. They continuously over charge me for items, their signage of prices does not match the price charged. Numerous times after checking my receipt I was overcharged. I bought 1 Coke and was charged for a six pack. I bought a squash and was charged for 4 individual ones. I then have to get back in my car, drive to the store and tell them I was overcharged. They make you feel like you're lying when they are at fault. They never have enough checkers, no baggers so I bag my own groceries which makes it difficult to stand there and make sure you are being rung up for each item at the correct price.. The parking lot smells of urine. Their groceries are much more expensive than any other store. You are not saving money here, you're overpaying and being overcharged! There are some nice employees and some are awkward. I've had strange interactions and inappropriate questions asked of me from one particular female young cashier as another reviewer noted.

They were laid back and gave us time to let us choose for our first time. The food was good and the vibe was nice.

We had a wonderful experience. Our dumplings were delicious, the simple noodle soup was just that but very tasty and we loved the jasmine tea.

I love their croissant bread. I live to far away to go to the shop but I used to order it online and have it shipped. I have tried to reorder it but it looks like they've stopped shipping. It makes me very sad. I miss my bread sooooo much! The bread is amazing for french toast, Sandwiches, toasted etc. i will not stop trying to find a way to get it shipped to me. It's extremely addicting!!!

i love coming here, you get the impression that this is family run and they're really wonderful people. im often greeted with warmth, humor and service. i love how convenient it is because its one block from where i live also i wouldn't worry so much about where this is located, just mind your business and walk like you've got a purpose, and no one will bother you in the TL. you don't have to react to every single cat call you get you know...

I usually avoid this location due to the usual staff rudeness but today I had to pick up food for a sick neighbor. I was in line for the self checkout which I usually don't use but as they only had 2 tills open I had to. The brown haired Caucasian woman was like a obnoxious. A Hispanic man ahead of me asked about cash. She screamed at him " I've said it 3 times No Cash! He looked so intimidated. This is sick!!

I wish I could give lower, disgusting food and horrible service. Would never come back.

I like to shop at lucky, fresh products and very nice people. I know almost all the cashiers here and they always make you feel welcome. it is always clean and smells fresh, all the shelves are very well organized and always full. the only thing is that they have increased their prices more than other markets, I don' mind as long as it is within reason, I get "inflation" but this is way more than average

My nephew brought me banana bread, mochi muffin and chocolate chip cookie from ps bakery! So good! Fresh and tasty! Loved the textures and flavors!! I will absolutely go to try even more of their creations!!

No Star. avoid fulton st sf location of lucky's and lucky's chain which told me on the 1-800 # that my raincheck is only good for the particular item which in my case is no longer carried. initially this location, on the third day of the weekly sale ad, was already out of stock on may 6, of scott paper towel 6 roll, on sale for $4.99. now my raincheck is worthless. customer service is non existent- no one answered the fulton st customer service extension. no offer of substitution for false advertising. the 1-800 person offered no remedy for advertising something and not stocking it and after issuing a raincheck did not have the item any longer.

The food is nearly to die for, and the service isn't anything short of large team personalization, making it easy to relax especially if you haven't had experience with appreciating teams in businesses like this before. The ambience is San Francisco honey, it's what you make it.

Lucky is one of the most inexpensive markets in San Francisco. The produce is fresh with a decent organic section, at a fraction of the price of other markets in San Francisco (and way more reliable than Trader Joe's produce, which often comes packaged in unnecessary plastic to boot). For staples, canned goods, basic cheeses, cereals, frozen items, etc, we go to Lucky or Grocery Outlet -- we pay dollars less PER ITEM than at other markets. I remember one time being in the bread aisle at Lucky and the woman next to me exclaimed in a European accent, "Finally a market with reasonable prices! We've been here a week and this is the first market that's even remotely reasonable." Lucky also has a decent selection of ethnic foods and produce, which we like -- Mexican, Thai, Southern, Vietnamese, etc. If we want meat, seafood or specialty items (for example, raw manchego or Cowgirl Creamery), we go to Faletti, CalMart, Mollie Stones, or Alioto-Lazio Fish Co on Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf. And we go to farmers markets when the timing works and we need specific items and produce. Lucky doesn't always attract the highest quality workers in the world, but they get the job done and it's improved recently with better management. It's great to have a good quality option in walking distance for most of our grocery needs.

Before we moved into our home, we hired Tri County Flooring & Installation to replace all the flooring. Carl, Jill, and Joey were great to work with. Their service and knowledge were outstanding. Their line of products and options gave us the opportunity to do what we wanted and to do it within our budget. The results are beautiful! I highly recommend anyone looking for flooring to call Tri County Flooring & Installation. You won't be disappointed!

Pandemic update. The butcher who was always surely is now more surely. Butcher department can't seem to make it consistent cut of meat. The produce guy who always had a chip on his shoulder, he's a jerk to most people. No surprise he's still a jerk to most people, he also now has a bigger chip on his shoulder. The cashier who has always been the slowest is now even more slow and more incompetent than ever before. He also generally smells like a cigarette butt. I think the biggest problem is that during this pandemic as difficult as things are the management at this particular lucky store could care less. I really dislike how they're handling the situation. I wish management could put their best foot forward. Recognize the people who go above and beyond to make this Lucky's a better place. Search for more competent people and weed out the rest. Fulton Lucky's store managers, get your stuff together please.

Lucky is an old school grocery store. Not always as cheap as Trader Joe's (and lacking some of their unique offerings), but always cheaper than Whole Foods, and usually less busy than both. It's also one of the bigger groceries stores I've seen in SF, where space is usually cramped (and thus limiting selection and stock). At the risk of dating this review, I've found this store to be one of the least painful actual grocery stores to shop at during the pandemic. Yes, stock is less sparse here and there in the store, but you'll probably walk away with most of what you needed. Not only that but the crowds have been non-existent (so far) so it's relatively easy to get in and out with no hassle. So while this is not my go-to weekly store by any means (that award still goes to TJ), definitely glad to have this not too far away.

I went by at 7:15 in the morning as they said they were open. WhileI was checking to see if opening time was right, a manager walked out and said that it was pre- pandemic times. ITS BEEN TWO YEARS !!! Time to update.

Better, well-organized, and cleaner than several of the big grocery (Safeway) stores I've been to. The store is huge and pleasant to shop in. Except for the homeless and transients that seem to like the enclosed paved area in front of the store, I still give Lucky's 5 stars. As for the lack of staff at checkout, I've had no problem using the self-checkout and encountered a very friendly cashier the one time in the evening the self-check was closed. I'm new to the neighborhood and very happy I have a place like Lucky's nearby. I've noticed most big grocery stores in SF are understaffed too, so it's not just Lucky's. People need to stop complaining. Better this Lucky's than no Lucky's. I go to Trader Joe's and I go to Lucky's. Happy to have both.

I live a few blocks away from Luckys and have been going to the grocery store for many many years. Unfortunately, I have to say that under the new changes corporate changes that is the store has completely declined overall in every aspect... this honestly is the worst lucky in San Francisco. Not because of the people who work there because they are very kind and very sweet ...the cashiers the produce people, the baggers the people who do the hard heavy lifting are there, but corporate has made it so difficult.. they don't have enough people working the cash registers the lines are long ...it is really outrageous, and very sad...considering we live in such an expensive city. This store is on the decline in a major way. It use to be my go to store now I try avoid it if I can because there aren't enough people there to even assist you..don't get me wrong the employee are awesome, but there are only a small number of them . They can't run the entire store in such few numbers. One day there were only two people in the entire store running the store. I find this outrageous.

This place is a dump. Store is dirty, poorly stocked, no carts available, not enough cashiers or baggers. and poor customer service as well.

Went there on 9-15-23 was told I can get a reincheck for the sauce since they ran out. The self check out clerk said to return tomorrow and she'll issue us the reincheck. This was at 1:25 PM. I returned the next day on 9-16 at 11:40 AM the same female check out clerk won't issue us the reincheck. This store sucks. Don't say you can issue a reincheck one day and telling me to return to which I did but you don't follow through with your promise. You lose credibility. This isn't good customer service! C'mon you can do better then this! I used to like this store but todays experience tainted my high regard and respect for this store. I used to think the Lakeshore store was lousey. I think after this experience this store rates like the Lakeshore store. They're lucky I rated them a 1 star. If there's a minus 1 I would rate them this. I contacted Peet's Coffee and they kept their word. I called them back the next day and since they promised me the free anniversary coffee, even though they changed the policy on giving away Free anniversary coffees, they gave it to me. Maybe if Lucky's keep their word, they just might get more positive reviews. When you puss off customers you'll get negative reviews. They should model after Peet's Coffee. The KEY word is keeping your word. 10-20 went back for free bee Fridays. I asked the same checkout clerk where the item was. She ignored me so I asked the clerk at checkout aisle #7, she directed me to where the item was.

This is a HUGE city grocery store! I just took an opportunity to stroll through to see if they have any prepared foods to go when I need something close by. I was sooo surprised to see how big this place was.... taking up a quarter block! It has everything dept including a deli and bakery. There was a hot food area but only wings were out this morning. There were prepackaged sandwiches and chicken fingers to go in the deli case. Interesting liquor selections. Overall, a nice grocery store in the city.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that in recent years this store got a complete makeover, moving it from the ordinary to high class. My sister is a gourmet level shopper, and even she was impressed: she loves that they carry a healthy Shepard's Pie by Blake in their good variety of products; the deli has treats that can beat most other places; and the employees are informed and friendly.

Awesome bagels, nice store but....Bought a bagel for 2.19, and the amount paid on the card was 3.19. I asked what is going on? They asked if I added a tip. I said no such tip option appeared. They promptly came back with a dollar bill. I think they need to fix their payment interfacec especially for those of us not willing to give a 50% tip! Maybe if it allowed an option like 10, 15 or 20% of the total.

Contrary to what Bob said, this place is NOT a dump. I was a bit afraid to go here when I read these reviews, but I needed quarters for laundry (and also cheap Ghirardelli brownie mix) and was met with a very pleasant customer service experience at the cash register. I would shop here again.

I highly recommend coming here if you feel like being berated by the employees and don't enjoy even remotely decent customer service. It's my second time shopping here and I will not return. I added a star because the store itself is enormous and has good variety.

This is the one near USF that students frequent. It's in a moderate market with some rich buyers. Got the same grocery store and it's pretty big. It feels like college. I have been here with my mom and today I got tomatoes. Lines are the same and slower these days.

The manager was not helpful when I asked questions about restrictions on the 5% discount for taking the survey on the receipt. I had to call the store because the website and 800 number were also not helpful.

not impressed by the man behind the butcher counter taking his face mask down and scratching his nose..and NOT washing his hands. The rest of the staff were kind of rude too. Everything else was fine...

Worst one yet. Fri sat sun, holidays. Never have any staff working. Massive lines with one check out person at 5pm on Friday? Every time I'm here this is how it is.. ridiculous. Management doesn't want to spend on labor. So we wait in line as our meats and dairy go room temp

Their fried chicken is better than Popeye's! That's all I get there. Head straight to the deli and try the fried chicken.
