"Before you continue, let’s be clear about one thing - this is not a review for a bowling alley in Times Square. Office managers stressing over the plans for corporate happy hour, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a French bistro in Soho that’s been open for 25 years where you can feel like you’re in one of the tame parts of a Bret Easton Ellis novel, read on. Keith McNally opened Lucky Strike in 1989, and for some reason, it’s lesser known than its similarly long-lived McNally counterparts Balthazar, Schiller’s, and The Odeon. Maybe that’s because people think it’s a bowling alley. Whatever the reason, we happen to like it a lot. Here’s why. On our last visit, the soundtrack was an alternating rotation of Depeche Mode and Michael Jackson and every table had drinks on it despite it being early on a Monday night. And speaking of drinks, when you order a martini or old fashioned or other appropriately strong drink (this place has been around since 1989 but that doesn’t make it OK to order a Cosmopolitan), you get an extra tall glass with crushed ice, a strainer, and the remaining part of the cocktail that didn’t fit into the first glass. In other words: one martini is actually approximately 1.5 martinis. Let this serve as your official warning. We also like Lucky Strike because it works perfectly in a number of situations. You could, for example, come in with a friend and grab one of the tiny, crowded-together tables in the front and share a steak frites - there isn’t really room for two plates on the table anyway. You might grab a quick glass of wine at the copper bar. If we’re getting serious, you might even linger in the back with a group until 2:30 a.m. on a Saturday night. There’s just one thing it’s not good for: bowling. Food Rundown Steak Frites This is exactly the plate of thin steak with thin French fries you would expect it to be, and exactly the kind of thing you want to order here. Endive Salad You could use some greens to go with that steak. You could use a martini, too. But also salad. Add some chicken if you’re feeling crazy. French Onion Soup French onion soup in a French bistro has literally never been bad, and this one is good. This should be your cold weather move. Salmon The salmon comes with green beans and a side of mashed potatoes. Like Lucky Strike itself, it’s simple and reliable, without being bland. Unfortunately it doesn’t also play Depeche Mode. Burger The burger comes on a kind of thick, soggy, non-toasted English muffin. For meat and starch needs, see above: steak frites." - Hillary Reinsberg

Joined the “Better Off Bowling” social league (that plays on Sundays) with a buddy several months ago. I’d recommend it & think of it as a success! The alleys are in good condition & the staff are always friendly & helpful. The league is about $100 for a season (4-7 weeks depending on the season) and allows you to play for a bit more than 2 hours with discounted wine/beer as well as beer games after bowling concludes. It’s a good time is the bottom line.

– Where Bowling Meets Flavor Explosion! If you’re looking for a night out that delivers more than just strikes and spares, Bowlero Times Square is the ultimate hotspot that blends electrifying fun with unexpectedly amazing food. Nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s chaos and charm, this isn’t your average bowling alley — it’s a full-blown vibe. Let’s talk about a game-changer: the Sweet Chili with French Fries. Yes, you read that right. This dish alone is worth the visit. Imagine golden-crisp fries tossed in a sticky, spicy-sweet chili glaze that hits all the right notes — savory, sweet, with just the right amount of heat. It’s the kind of flavor bomb that makes you pause mid-bite and say, “Okay…WOW.” Every fry is coated to perfection, with crispy edges soaking up that bold sauce like they were made for each other. It’s indulgent, addictive, and oddly gourmet for a bowling alley. Pair it with an ice-cold drink, and you’re not just eating — you’re experiencing something different. The atmosphere at Bowlero? Electric. Neon lights, modern lanes, good music, and an upbeat crowd make it feel like a party whether you’re with friends or on a date. Service is fast and friendly, and the whole place feels polished yet playful. Bowlero Times Square isn’t just a place to bowl — it’s where food, fun, and energy collide. And seriously, don’t leave without trying those sweet chili fries. They’ll haunt your cravings in the best way possible.

First time at Bowlero Times Square and I had a great time. The whole place is spacious with multiple floors & different bar options and of course bowling lanes all over the place. Price was affordable, even for our Saturday visit. Definitely recommend this spot for a fun night out with friends.

It really is fun and you have an amazing time with your friends/family. I must admit that the food is not the best, but it's fine to hang out with. I recommend it.

Fun place, great service. Food is minimal and bite sized, but also not expensive for a joint in Times Square. Will be back!

I reserved a party for my son's 16th Birthday and we all had the best experience. The server Brian was the best. He was very patient with a bunch of teen boys and had a great personality. The manager who came periodically to check if we were satisfied or needed anything additional was very nice, understanding and explained my billing into details. They both were honestly the best. The food and drinks were great too. Thank you for giving my son the best party ever. Highly recommend this location.

The bowling alley was called Lucky Strikes I believe andwas very nice and it was also clean. I went with one of my friends and we had a really good time. We stayed about 2 hours. We used the Groupon and the prices were amazing! Do keep that in mind. The drinks were pretty good I had cranberry with Tito's and it was actually pretty strong. We got some tacos and my friend said it was really good and the price at the end for everything was super cheap which was great. We were pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend going and possibly even going with a larger group.

Great experience and fast service. Took my boy out for his birthday and enjoyed myself. The drinks were great and the tacos delicious. I surprisingly won the game and I’m terrible at bowling. This place is great for family during the day and for friends at night. Overall great place. It also has a nice arcade as well
