We are staying at the adjoining Well House Inn. We are glad there is outdoor seating in this glorious weather. Julia is a great server. She is very personable and made good suggestions. We started with drinks and the egg roll. My dirty martini was nice. We were hoping for a little more meat. As it was Friday, and wanted to recreate Friday Fish Fry, we did the Fish and Chips. I also had a pint of Guiness. We ended with ice cream. The interior is nicely done with lots of wood. Loved the tartan wallpaper in the bathroom.

Very nice vibe of a restaurant for what the town offers. It's an Irish pub so the food is gonna give you plenty of Irish options. It's reasonable, friendly atmosphere. The food isn't bad. It's not the worst. It's not the greatest but it's convenient for staying at the hotel and in the vicinity. Ordered a shepherds pie and it was tasty, but it was kind of a skimpy dish which still sort of had me left a little hungry or to wake up like I did extra early to be hungry. The guy next to me ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken. It looked super dry as that that's the effect the Parmesan has and I could tell he was not happy with it, which is bad when the bartender kept saying how the chicken and he was like "eh" and then she saw he wasn't eating and didn't address the issue.

Went here over the weekend and had a wonderful experience. We reserved our table online and it was easy to do. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly staff. They have a great selection of cocktails and craft beer. We started off with the potato skins for our appetizer. They were absolutely delicious. We then ordered the fish and chips and it was cooked to perfection and delicicous. They even make their own tarter sauce to go along with it. The atmosphere very cozy and it's very clean. Had great service the whole time as our waitress was very attentive. We loved how easy to hear each other for our date night. I highly recommend this gem in the heart of downtown Hamilton. Wonderful place to eat.

Very impressed. I sat with Michelle and received outstanding service and the fish was wonderful. She was extremely accommodating with my gluten allergy and went out of her way to make sure I enjoyed my meal. I even decided to go to the bar after my meal and Julia made me one of the best martinis I’ve had in quite a while and provided some awesome conversation to go along. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone in Hamilton or visiting

Great service by all the staff, their drinks are done well, the appetizers were very good, although the menu isn't extensive the options are very good based on eveyone in our group. We loved the rueben egg rolls, the fish and chips were perfect. I would recommend stopping and trying this new establishment

Where do I start? We read about The Lucky Well, which just opened in Hamilton, Ohio recently. We love a good pub and decided to give it a try. One of our better decisions! Oh my goodness. And I do mean goodness! Great location, great atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff. We started off with a couple appetizers: The High Street Crispy Shrimp was delectable. It had a whisky glaze and came with a malt vinegar slaw. I am not a cole slaw person. But this changed my mind. So different than all the cookie cutter slaws. The flavor of the shrimp was very satisfying, and I could have made a meal out of just this--hah, and should have when I think of all I had eaten. "Crispy" was an understatement. Delicious. The potato leek soup was good and hot and was served with a large slice of soda bread. In fact, all the food here was quite plentiful. I chose the fish and chips for my entrée. This dish was a close second to the fish and chips I once had at a Scottish pub in Victoria, Canada. The fish and chips at The Lucky Well was absolutely perfection. It came with some malt vinegar slaw and mushy peas, and a side of crinkle sliced fries. They were crisp outside and soft inside and very flavorful. All were equally good and great accompaniments to the meal. My husband had the handheld beer battered cod on rye with onion rings. Equally as good as the cod entrée. My brother-in-law opted for shepherd's pie. It was rich and delicious and comforting. We shared the cheesecake and Guinness bread pudding for dessert. Oh my. I do not like bread pudding. Until now. It was hot and crispy with tart apples and a wonderfully rich whisky caramel sauce. The cheesecake was one of the best I have had. It, too, had a caramel sauce, and just one small bite was a fluffy explosion of cream. What a great time at The Lucky Well, and a delicious meal. I'm very glad we live only a short distance away. We will return.

Google
I had a fabulous experience here. Our server was so attentive despite having several tables, and the bartender Virginia was amazing. The drinks were so well done and tasty. And the food is just excellent. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts. They are crispy with a tangy sweet and sour sauce on top and roasted to perfection. The steak melts in your mouth like butter. My kudos to the chefs, the rest of the staff, and everyone involved with the Lucky Well. This is a great addition to the Hamilton dining scene.

Yelp
My wife, myself and another couple decided to go out Friday evening. They had never been to The Lucky Well before but my wife and I had. Probably didn't do a review the first time as it was a family gathering and I was preoccupied. This visit, we opted to sit outside, in front. It was pleasant enough temperature wise, but it's very close to the main street and when some vehicle with loud engine or muffler came by, well, didn't help with conversations. Ok, waitress came out and friendly greeting, took our drink order. Came back in a short while and took our order, then was right back with our beverages. She was very good about checking in on us every so often. Gotta say, they have one of the best Espresso martinis I've had. And a wide variety of bourbon, too. On to dinner. I ordered a Burger that came with lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, pickle and their special sauce. The burger itself was good, honestly, I've had better but that was at a place specializing in burgers. It came with their "chips" which are thin cross-cut fries that were actually quite good. Also ordered a 1/2 ceasar salad, it was a typical Caesar salad. My wife ordered the Shepard pie, she really liked it and it was large enough for her to eat only half and bring the other half home. The other gentleman in our group ordered the fish sandwich with side salad . It was a pretty big piece of fish and he said it was good. So, as I mentioned earlier, my wife and I had been there before and we will probably go again, this time I'll get the shepherds pie and try the hot honey carrots that sound good!

Yelp
Service was great, food and service was super fast, everyone was really kind! Our fav was the brussel sprouts with hot honey but everything we had was delish and large portions. We would be back!

Yelp
Loved it. Much more of a restaurant than a pub. Very spacious, classy Irish themed wall decor. Nice big bar. Service was very good, questions answered and recommendations made. Unique and interesting cocktail list, I had the "Well Water" which was fresh light and tasty but potent. My husband had the red blend wine and liked it a lot. Food was fabulously delicious, nicely presented, and very generous portions. One of the best Shepherds Pies ever, and those corned beef egg rolls were loaded with fillings. They could be a meal in themselves. An unexpected salad accompanied the Shepherds Pie, dressed with a creamy Malt Vinegar dressing- wow! Never had anything quite like it. One thing I found odd was the absence of salt and pepper and any condiments at all. I probably could have used a bit of HP Sauce or similar on the bangers, but everything was so good and there was so much we just fell to and really didn't miss it. Our waitress did not miss a beat in having our leftovers neatly wrapped up for us. This is located at the dead end of Monument Avenue right by the Log Cabin and Soldiers Monument so you can enjoy some history. Plenty of parking including disabled spots but you do have to walk around the corner for the entrance. Needless to say, we will be back! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great selection of Tequila and Bourbon. Establishment is very clean and "in new" condition. Large bar. Decorated nicely. Servers were great. Very talkative. Lucky Chips are excellent. I had the crispy chicken sandwich which was done perfectly. I would suggest the Nashville Hot Honey and/or Ranch (at least on the side). I would highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Virginia is amazing.

Yelp
I was recently invited to the soft opening at The Lucky Well in Hamilton, Ohio, and it certainly left a lasting impression. I ordered the New York Strip, and it was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection, the steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I don't like peas but the mushy peas were very good. The service was fantastic! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive, offering great recommendations and ensuring everything was just right throughout the meal. The space is beautiful. The wine, beer and liquor menus were extensive! We had a few cocktails that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of, but they were very well done and balanced. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Lucky Well is definitely worth a visit for both excellent food and beverages!

Yelp
First time to visit here. Food was great and I was able to find something GF! We sat outside and the service was great. Other than a little traffic noise, it was a great space to spend time catching up with friends.

Yelp
Beautiful place, especially the bar area. It's not quiet dining, as the echos are robust. The food has been consistently great. I've been multiple times and tried several things - none have disappointed. Our service has been great the last couple of times, although earlier on servers seemed out of the know on many inquiries. The female bartender I dined with 2x was stellar! Matt also does a great job creating an inviting, enjoyable environment to frequent.

Yelp
New establishment in downtown Hamilton serving up great drinks, appetizers and meals irish style. The service was fantastic as well as the appetizers and meals. If you enjoy fish and chips then you'll be pleased. We also loved the rueben egg rolls appetizer.

Yelp
The food was excellent the service was great and the overall experience was excellent. The Guinness beer was perfectly served and the Irish whiskey coffee was wonderful. This is a very nice restaurant. No tv, no loud conversations just nice and peaceful.

Yelp
I love the location of this restaurant!! This is the first time I've been to the downtown Hamilton river area, and discovered an amazing entertainment district: a park, a museum the soldiers monument, a microbrewery, the Hamilton-Fairfield bike trail, and this restaurant, which fits right in. The decor is inviting, and the staff is friendly and outgoing. And the food is pretty good. I ordered the reuben eggroll, which was huge, and the fish and chips. I loved the "lucky chips" -- they're somewhat like a thickened potato chip. Of course I had to try a couple of the sides: The crispy brussel sprouts were sweet and savory, and I loved the chickpeas included with them -- they were covered with the same tasty sauce as the brussels, which made them a little crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. And I've never had "hot honey carrots" or "mushy peas" before. The carrots were cooked just right -- enough to be tender but not falling apart. And the peas were almost like a paste, with a flavoring added to them that mellowed out the "pea" taste to them. All together, a good opportunity to try some new tastes in a pleasant setting.

Yelp
A hidden gem! The fish and chips was one of the best in the Tri-state. The Lucky chips are crispy yet creamy on the inside. My husband had the Rueben and puts it in the upper tier of restaurants. Will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
The Shepherds Pie was fantastic! The Mash and Bangers were so-so. Bangers were a bit dull in taste. Mac and cheese wasn't bad but not great. The nachos were spot on and a meal on their own. Pretzel sticks and beer cheese were great!

Yelp
Wow, the food, service and atmosphere were all fabulous! The Rueben was great, the Blackened chicken pasta was delicious. This is now listed as one of our favorites!

Yelp
Food and drinks were perfect. We had a part of10 and everyone was thrilled. I had the Steak, she had the fish and chips. Best in town!!!

Yelp
Great food and service. I recommend the salmon and the bread pudding. Make a reservation as it fills up fast. Nice atmosphere. Had no trouble hearing each other talk.

Doug D.

Yelp
The food was very good and the service was awesome. The portion of our fish & chips was very small. I politely asked about it and they quickly made it right. The staff went way above and beyond what was needed to correct the problem and a manager came by to double check that we were taken care of. We will be back!

Christine S.

Yelp
Great service (Michelle). Excellent drinks. Burger was perfectly cooked---all of our entrees were delicious. If we lived in Hamilton, we'd be regulars at this place!

Shelly C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service, excellent food! Don't miss this new gem in Hamilton.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place and was glad I did so days before I placed a reservation. When my party arrived I told the front desk male whom I believe was one of the managers not sure but he seemed a tad confused so he sat us at the table , once our sweet waitress came over she asked us if we were part of another reservation under a last name I did not know so when I told her no she said okay and walked away. When she returned she asked if a Caleb was with us and I told her no and she said "Ok bear with me I just had 4 tables sat at the same time with reservations." I thought to myself why did they sit 4 tables at one time in her section and not spread them out because there were many empty tables at the time I arrived. But anyway the food was good and love the atmosphere . Wear a jacket it was chilly in there I'm sure from the old building and not great insulation. I will return and hopefully they get the reservations figured out as time goes by.
