A Sleek All-Day Restaurant Joins Palm Springs’s Hot Dining Scene - Eater LA

"There’s a quiet new coffee spot going down on Mission Road, called Lucky Wheels. The alleyway shop is part of a DIY motorcycle garage, and is run by the folks behind Echo Park’s Woodcat Coffee." - Farley Elliott

adding another 5 stars - Had the bottom end rebuilt by jackson and runs perfect, helped whole way with options to best work it out. 10/10 came in to get some brakes - Jackson quoted a week turnaround due to being busy but had done next day for me - ended up needing a new chain as well which he got sorted no issue was super helpful and cool dude great work stops like a charm would recommend for any harley needs

In the motorcycles world there can often be a sense of elitism, especially when dealing with Harley Davidson's. I just recently took my 1992 FXR to Lucky Wheels to get running after sitting for 2 years. I found Jackson to be very knowledgeable and easygoing. My bike is completely stock and he did an amazing job. He also had quite a few custom jobs going as well. If you are looking for a Harley mechanic for stock or custom work without the elitism I highly recommend looking into Lucky Wheels Garage.

First time at lucky wheels but not the last. Everyone was very helpful and talkative. They have parts on hand but can order parts at a fair price as well. They have every tool under the sun including a sand blaster and various welders. They also offer oil and tire disposal for 5$.

If you want to work on your bike and don’t have the room or the tools, this is a perfect place for you. They have everything you could need and are incredibly helpful. Not to mention, there is amazing coffee two seconds to the left of LWG.

Lucky Wheels Garage is one of the coolest and most unique shops in America. It’s a DIY co-op style shop where, with a membership or day pass, you can wrench on your motorcycle projects. From welding and fabrication to general maintenance, LW has the tools and knowledgeable people ready to help.

Took in my new to me used harley for a look over before a road trip. Love the vibes. Service was great and I look forward to a long relationship with this shop on my two wheel journey

Google
I don’t give a lot of reviews but this time I have to. I’ll give it 2 stars because it was a fairly quick service (24H for 2 tires). He broke something which he had to replace which was $20 more. High prices for a simple tire change, but the worst part after 3 months my front tire tube ripped. I don’t know what kind of tubes he uses but that’s dangerous. I only ride on highways no bumpy roads whatsoever.

Impressed with how smoothly it went. Truly impressed with everything.

Yelp
I have an old Harley ('77 Shovelhead) that needed a lot of work to get it dailed. Jackson extended the front fork tubes, installed new front brake lines, installed a high performance rear brake, did a complete top end rebuild, switched points to electronic ignition/timing, new carb install and tune, installed a new air cleaner, and the list goes on. He's a true master of his craft, has a deep understanding of these machines, and knows how to go about completing complex rework/repair jobs. They charge a very fair price for the quality of work that is provided. For issues large and small, performance upgrades, and general maintenance, I highly recommend Lucky Wheels Garage.

Yelp
Jackson was great at servicing my Moto Guzzi, although they don't specialize in Moto Guzzis. However, they do specialize in 2-wheelers, and my Guzzi was experiencing some dodgy stuff, but they were able to fix my underlying issues. They were great, reliable, and think about the safety of their clients always. Thank you, Jackson.

Yelp
If you have Harley, LUCKY WHEELS IS THE GARAGE! I can't toot Jackson and Davey's horns enough! They are both Harley whisperers. The amount of trouble shooting they did to get my Harley chopper back to 100% was crazy. And they did it all super fast. Jackson was super thorough in explaining what was going on with the bike, what they had done, what needed to be done, what my options were, communication was super smooth and easy, and the price was right. AND when it wasn't fully back to 100, they did some final trouble shooting, found and repaired the issue free of charge. These dudes are so cool and dedicated to having you cruise off on your bike super stoked! Harley chopper angels, for sure!

Yelp
I feel so grateful to have partnered with Jackson and his crew at Lucky Wheels on my custom bike build. We 'scramblered' a Honda 650 dirt bike and the results are absolutely stunning. Their ability to take a vision and execute is incredible and I can't recommend them enough for anything from basic repairs to completely custom work. Thanks guys and I'll be back!

Yelp
My son and I took the introductory MIG welding class. It was so much fun and very educational. The staff was great. Very clear and understandable instructions. It was very hands on and they helped each of us learn the techniques. It was also very affordable since they provided everything.

Yelp
Just as a point of clarification: Lucky Wheels is a place where YOU can work on YOUR bike. It isn't a service for hire garage. My review below: This place is amazing. It is EVERYTHING a communal workshop should be. They have elaborate and clean facilities for doing anything you can think of to your bike. The facilities accommodate everything from basic maintenance to advanced customization and fabrication. The people at Lucky's are awesome and supportive. There's no snobbery or weird brand loyalties and the guys here, like me, are excited about anything on two wheels. I cannot recommend it highly enough and the value for the price is outstanding.

Yelp
I need some help with my bike. I needed to load it in my truck so I could head home for Christmas. It was a Sunday and I called everywhere trying to find ramps to buy. When I called here Jack answered and told me he doesn't have any to sell but he would help me load it if I could get bth down to his shop. Super cool layback people. Very helpful and welcoming to anyone on anything. If you like genuine people and motorcycles there's no other place to go. Thanks for all yalls help. I'll come back whenever I'm in town that's for sure.

Yelp
All they have is tools, don't trust them for anything else. I found this place through the Instagram account cafes4sale where they always post about making house calls for quick repairs. I tried using the service not knowing the scope of their abilities and the guy that came out told me it was too much electrical work and he recommends this place, lucky wheels, it's a little far (making a membership tricky for me) but they can get the job done. Long story short, I paid $3,000 to have some electrical work done, it took 4 months, and when I got it back found electrical connections that were hanging on by only several strands of wire. I even caught an electrical fire at one point since they decided to take some liberties with a few things that had already been done to the bike to avoid shit like that. DIY garage, great concept. When advertised as anything else, poorly executed. Have an idea of what you're doing before you go in there, only use their tools, and get the fuck out before anybody tries to start talking to you. Edit: just wanted to finally say something, do something because, of course, they were pretty dodgy after I told them my shit caught on fire so I never really got any kind of response or resolution for everything.

Yelp
Recently moved from Arts District to Mission Junction, and through my many trips back a fourth to my old stopping ground i noticed their beautifully bright and eye catching blue facade, then i saw motos and knew i had to stop by. the space is great, very organized, and well thought out. The Team is great, everyone introduced themselves to me, and gave me a run down of what they are doing and gave me a tour of the space. Very exciting to see a potential community strong hold, for like minded gear heads. Bottom line, DIY moto space. RAD inside out and a bunch of good dudes. Im excited to get a membership once i shift back into motorcycle minds.

Yelp
Awesome resource. I split my time in LA and needed a place to store a bike and have access to tools. This is a fantastic resource and tremendous value. At $70/month for storage, it's vastly cheaper than the parking I'd pay downtown ($200). Added bonus are other people who can offer insight on repairs and trouble shooting. Plus they have coffee.....

Yelp
If you like motorcycles and the community that comes with it, you've found your new favorite place ever. Coolest people, funny motorcycles, very enjoyable place. But also, it's affordable to fix your own bike !!

Yelp
Really rad place to get work done on your bike, plus the guys who own the place Ty, Cam, and Jack are all awesome and super helpful! They can teach you to do pretty much anything on your bike, even welding! And there's even a lounge upstairs :)

Jarrod B.

Yelp
I was going to have about $1,800 of work done to a bike at a local shop, but I heard about this place, and thought it might be fun to learn how to do it myself. Ended up spending $400 on parts and a membership and got it all done myself. The shop is fully stocked and has a great vibe, the guys that run the place are amazingly helpful if you get stuck when YouTube fails to demonstrate.

Amazing shop, so happy there a DIY location to build and work on my bike. All you will need from TIG welders to screwdrivers!
