I liked the welcoming space and equally cordial service here so, so much that the mere thought of dissing this bakeshop cum cafe, even a little, is triggering qualms of Jewish guilt. But am gonna risk it 'cause I feel compelled to tell you about the Biscuit:
Anyway, hubby and I stopped in for some breakfast treats to-go. Carrot Walnut Bread, iced with Cream Cheese frosting was moist and delicious. A Scone, which if memory serves, contained caramelized onion had great flavor. But since it sat in our humid kitchen overnight, it became overly soft. Totally our bad, though. Or should I say, dough.
As for that aforementioned Biscuit, alas, it was disappointing on a few levels. It was supposed to contain ham, but there wasn't a whole lot of it, plus it tasted a little off, for lack of a better way to describe it. The biggest bummer of all though, is that it was ultra heavy and dense. I don't know about you, but I like my Biscuits light and flaky.
There were some GORGEOUS looking Layer Cakes on display during our visit. From what I understand, this is where the strength of this place lies, something I would be most happy to uh, investigate personally on a return visit. But for now, at least, this spot is just 'A-OK' for me.
ps Seating is limited, plus am not sure if there is a public restroom.
