"Lucky Bird, a petite shop from baker Amy Berger Roy that specializes in layer cakes garnished with flowers, adds some much-needed charm to East Williamsburg. The lemon-rose cake tastes like summer; get a slice and linger over it with a cup of coffee near one of the shop’s bay windows, or order a chocolate chip cookie or rosewater scone to-go." - Daniela Galarza

Amy makes an absolutely exquisite wedding cake! We were floored by how stunningly beautiful it was, with fresh flowers that matched our wedding day blooms. The cake itself was delicious – highly recommend the vanilla with fresh berries and cream. Amy is also super lovely and easy to work with, and even went to pick up the flowers from our florist the day before the wedding! All in all, can’t recommend Luckybird more!

This store is an absolute Bushwick gem! Any makes the most amazing creamy cakes. Her customer service is also top notch. She was able to pivot, went out of her way to take care of us and corrected an order due to a slight miscommunication. Definitely recommend

Google
Amy created the most amazing cake for our wedding. The cake tasted delicious and was also so beautiful. We went with the Vanilla Rose option for the flavor. Our guests were raving about how good it tasted. There were many other tasty flavors to pick from too. We loved Amy's use of seasonal florals for the cake design. Amy looked at a photo of our other wedding florals and was able to pick the most perfect flowers for our cake. I loved the white dahlias that were featured on our cake so much! I highly recommend Luckybird Bakery!

Google
Amy made the most wonderful cake for our small wedding and even coordinated getting it to the restaurant in the city where we had our dinner. So amazing! And even worked with my guests various allergies and food requirements. Highly recommend the Meyer Lemon Cake. So yummy and so special!

It has been four weeks since our wedding and my mom is STILL talking about the cake. She stole three extra slices from the venue and had cake for breakfast three days in a row. I think she’ll be talking about this cake for the rest of my life. She might drive me crazy but…she’s right. The cake Luckybird made for our wedding was the best cake I’ve ever had. That’s not an exaggeration. It really was next level. We ordered a fully frosted chocolate cake with seasonal berries and crème fraiche, and it was simply divine. Sweet but not too sweet, decadent but still light, and totally addicting. I cannot tell you how many people have reached out to me specifically to compliment the cake! Besides her incredible skills as a baker, Amy is also a lovely person to work with. Throughout the entire process, she was friendly, communicative, and kind. She was quick to answer my questions and super professional. If we ever throw another special event and need a cake, I will 100% reach out to Luckybird! In fact, I’m really trying to find a reason to order a second wedding cake, just for myself  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Google
We hired Amy to make our wedding cake and it was absolutely incredible. Our guests are still talking about how yummy it was (which is rare for wedding cakes!) Also, the seasonal flower decorations on top are simply stunning and the cake looked as good as it tasted. We loved working with Luckybird Bakery and can't wait to pick up more cake for special occassions and anniversaries!

Google
This bakery is the best! Only open as a cafe on weekends. The cakes are so beautiful. And they taste great too. I had the lemon rose cake. Also pictured are the lemon coconut and rose water mini scones. Everything is delicious. Hoping to try the berry pie next time but it seems like it always sells out early. My only wish is that this place opened as a cafe on weekdays as well. If I ever get married I want my wedding cake from here;)

I ordered a bespoke birthday cake for my partner. Email communication was slow, had to keep asking and confirming. But the result was wonderful and the cake was beautifully made and wrapped. Delivery was seamless, the driver called upon delivery. Most importantly, the cake was delicious! I’m a happy customer!

Yelp
I came to Luckybird to meet a friend. The place is cute and looks like it's more just for people to grab their take away orders, baked goods and cakes. They do have maybe 4 tables and some seating by the window for people to have coffee and a pastry but that's not what they are really set up for - no wifi and no restrooms for longer visits. They do have cute mugs ans cups and the place looks vintage and sweet. The coffee was just OK, lots of competition in Brooklyn but I don't have an overview on the cakes or pastries - something to try next time. For just the cafe, it's a-ok. Service wasn't at the table you go up to the counter and place your order and they make it for you

Yelp
I've had some of my birthday cakes purchased from here so it's definitely a place I would recommend. This Valentines Day they offered a V-Day cake slice box and I couldn't resist. I think the boxes varied but mine came with a slice of carrot cake, white cake/white frosting, chocolate/chocolate and chocolate cake/chocolate chip frosting. I had a taste of all but definitely took both chocolate slices home. SO GOOD I COULDN'T SHARE! She makes beautiful cakes AND they taste delicious.

Yelp
Like others who have left reviews, I was excited to try Luckybird, but when I reached out to Amy via email (several times), received no response. Crickets. So unprofessional. From the sounds of things, she's looking to cater solely to the wedding crowd, which is certainly her prerogative. I get why some businesses, like florists, do this--it assures that they take on only highly lucrative jobs. But it's not a great way to build a loyal customer base let alone a business that truly serves its community. I took my money elsewhere (Whole Foods) and was more that happy with the result. Instead of a $60 mini cake, I got a really delicious (if less Instagram-friendly) Berry Chantilly cake for $15.

Yelp
Read a lot about this bakery and was really excited to try their cake. I stopped by on the weekend and managed to get two slices. They have a window that you can order goodies from over the weekend. I ordered the chocolate chip cake and the scarlet (red velvet). Both were really good. I liked the scarlet a bit more than the chocolate though they were quite similar. The frosting is awesome. I even saved some cake for a day or two later and i though it might dry out but it still tasted great! I would have liked some more textures in the cake, something crispy or crunchy (like salted pretzel), but that's just a personal preference on how I like my cake :). There was no outdoor or indoor seating, just pick up.

Yelp
Twice I have ordered cakes for my daughter's birthday from this bakery since I loved the naked cake look and twice they ghosted me. Actually the first time I went to pick up my cake on the day of the party and it was not made. Apparently she was on Good Morning America that day and the order was lost. I had to make a frantic search for a last minute cake, Ovenly came to the rescue. Five years later, I decided to give them another try so I emailed them a month in advance, established contact with Amy and then 2 weeks later emailed with the final headcount so we knew how many tiers to build. This time when I received no response, I reached out to Cake Hero NYC and Melissa made an amazing custom axolotl cake and delivered it to the venue. This business is catered to weddings and media. Good luck getting a cake for a birthday.

Yelp
Very happy to report that Luckybird has opened to the public for the first time since March! They now have a takeout window that is open on Saturdays! Get there early because cake flavors have been selling out :) Word to the wise--they are only taking Venmo and cash so bring your phone or your wallet. This was definitely the best piece of cake I've had all pandemic. I'm so happy to have their cold brew back in my life as well.

Yelp
Wow. I live in San Diego and my daughter lives in New York. So her birthday is a little hard to celebrate unless we travel. This year, covid made that impossible so I decided that I was going to order her a birthday cake and have it delivered. Choosing anything from a distance is difficult, but I chose Luckybird and am so glad I did. It was so easy to order by email and Amy was a gem. Quick responder and sweet. The best part, though, was the cake. I chose the lemon berry creme fraiche cake and my girl and her friends loved it! She said it was moist and not gunked with frosting (which she hates...not a big frosting girl); and the fresh flowers on top were gorgeous. I liked that it did not cost me an arm and a leg, even with delivery and they included a little card. Thank you Amy and Luckybird bakery! I'll be visiting your cake window next time I visit her!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. We ordered our wedding cake here- strawberry lemon. You are able to have a cake tasting or order mini cakes to go in order to select what flavor you want. We communicated through email which for me was the best way. Floral arrangements on the cake where lovely. Good to know they get their flowers for the cake from florist we selected for our wedding " ROSEHIP" so truly everything flowed. The cake was delicious. All our guest raved about it. We even bought another cake a few days after the wedding to celebrate my sisters birthday "coconut "

Yelp
I ordered a vanilla rose cake for my friend's bridal shower. Pick up was easy and Mary was very responsive with the emails. The cake was reasonably priced and I was attracted to the rustic, naked style. I haven't tried any cakes by Luckybird and was very happy with how the cake turned out! It was not too sweet, the cake itself was moist and the rose cream in between was perfectly flowery. The only bad thing I can say about the cake was that I paid extra for extra flowers and that it did not reflect. I wish that they put some on the base of the cake.
google avatar

Suki C.

Yelp
Luckybird cakes are beautiful and more importantly delicious! I've had the vanilla rose cake in the past for a rather large celebration and remember enjoying it a lot, I ordered a Meyer Lemon cake for my sisters 30th birthday! Placing the order was simple, let Amy know what you want and she will tell you if she can accommodate and the price. You set the pick up day and time and upon pick up you will receive a very pretty pretty cake! The floral arrangements on the cake is 1000000% and the flowers are all fresh flowers. The cake also tastes amazing- very moist and the cake itself is not overly sweet. My parents really enjoyed eating the cake as well. Will definitely be back for more cakes in the future!

Yelp
Lord have mercy My fave bakery for every reason. Only good thing about moving away from them is my waist line is happier. I can NOT walk in without getting a rose water scone plus plus plus. Plus a treat for later. Plus a cheesy scone for a friend. Plus a coffee bc the baristas rock. Plus the salted chocolate chip cookies bc YUM. Plus whatever else Amy has invented that day. Love this spot, it's my Heaven Word to the wise. Don't expect to walk out with just one item.

Yelp
Just the most delicious cakes and insanely gorgeous! I cannot recommend this bakery highly enough!!

Enya M.

Yelp
Omg These cakes taste as good as they look!! I did a surprise birthday for one of my bestfriends and people couldn't stop taking pics of it and asking what bakery I got it from. Amy is very nice and worked with me since I wanted certain flowers on the cake to look like a mini bouquet, and match other arrangements. She accomplished the look and still put her signature on it to produce an absolutely fabulous cake! Now for the taste.. WOW the rose just coats your palette without overwhelming the cake itself. It's light, yet still decadent. Simply a slice of heaven !
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Luckybird is known for their cakes, and while I didn't get a slice this time, I definitely want to at some point because they all looked amazing. I did enjoy the mini rose water scone and chocolate chip cookie (the cookie was perfect).

Yelp
My boyfriend's mother was trying to make his 30th birthday in lockdown special and found luckybird online. I was *so* impressed with the cake she ordered for delivery to our apt. Adorable naked layer cake was delivered right on time and the packaging/presentation (including fresh florals) was so thoughtfully designed. Perfect petite size (but still impressive with layers) for two people. I was happy the cake stayed moist for almost a week after delivery - with two people it still took a while to finish! I would definitely recommend the cakes and would order as a special occasion delivery in the future!

Yelp
Amy and her team made a beautiful cake for my sister's bridal shower. I came by the bakery and tasted the vanilla rose cake, which is so rich and delicious! Working with Amy was very easy and she was responsive throughout the entire process. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the cake was and how good it tasted.

Yelp
I owe this place an updated review. My first experience with LuckyBird was pretty subpar. However, I decided to give them another try due to the glowing Yelp reviews and reasonable cake pricing. I ordered the lemon meyer cake with pistachios for my friend's bridal shower. The ordering process is super simple. The staff is incredibly responsive to emails and you can pay by venmo. I picked up my cake on Saturday morning. Similar to the other Luckybird desserts (and the storefront), it was beautiful! I was a little worried about the flavor because I previously tried cake slices at the bakery that were on the drier side or tasted too buttery. I'm incredibly pleased to report that the lemon meyer was delicious! It tasted similar to the rose cake but with a more complex flavor and citrus undertones. I also think it helped that the cake was left out for an hour or so, which allowed the buttercream to soften. The cake was such a huge hit and everyone wanted the bakery information after tasting a slice!
google avatar

Mel K.

Yelp
I can't even appropriately explain how amazing it was to have Luckybird be a part of our wedding. All the flavors we tried were phenomenal but we ended up going with a dark choc chip and Vanilla Rose and I have not stopped hearing about how delicious and beautiful the cake was. I can't wait for another opportunity to order a cake and I know exactly who I will be calling. Also I had a few emails with Mary and she was so nice and wonderful to work with.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
We had a picnic celebration and ordered the Lemon CRÈME FRAîCHE Cake from Luckybird. It was hands down the best cake I've ever had in my life. It was light and creamy, the lemon was soft and refreshing, and the flowers on top were stunning. 100% recommend the bakery. Easy pick up and payment.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely satisfied with the beautifully presented Vanilla Rose Cake! Presentation was 10/10 (simple but elegant - many of my friends asked where I got the cake from!) and Mary was so helpful throughout the entire process. Everything went smoothly from ordering to pick-up. I also highly recommend their rose water scone! It was so moist and the rose flavor was just so satisfying! I wish that they were open on the weekdays so I can stop by more often! The shop itself was very cute. The pastries on display looked so delicious and tempting! I could not just leave without getting something! If you have a chance, give it try! You won't be disappointed ~

Yelp
Artfully curated. The vibe is subtlety hip and unembellished. A cake merchant shares their craft with the world through the intricate vail of a European coffee shop. Buy it by the slice or keep Luckybird in mind for your next special event. The menu is boosted by historically favorited coffee shop confections with a few original upscale twists. Try the Rosewater scone. I asked for a to go bag as the scone was intimidating in proportion. As I ate the last bite - I cowered with a rosé blushed face and hid the to go bag that was no longer necessary underneath the stylish China.

Yelp
I used Luckybird bakery for my wedding in September and couldn't have been happier. The cake was stunning not to mention absolutely delicious. We sampled most of the flavors and chose the Meyers Lemon and Strawberry Buttercream, but truth be told it was a difficult choice as all were delicious! The team at Luckybird was wonderful to work with and extremely attentive from start to finish. If you are considering using Luckybird for a wedding (any kind of event) do yourself a favor and just do it.

Yelp
I liked the welcoming space and equally cordial service here so, so much that the mere thought of dissing this bakeshop cum cafe, even a little, is triggering qualms of Jewish guilt. But am gonna risk it 'cause I feel compelled to tell you about the Biscuit: Anyway, hubby and I stopped in for some breakfast treats to-go. Carrot Walnut Bread, iced with Cream Cheese frosting was moist and delicious. A Scone, which if memory serves, contained caramelized onion had great flavor. But since it sat in our humid kitchen overnight, it became overly soft. Totally our bad, though. Or should I say, dough. As for that aforementioned Biscuit, alas, it was disappointing on a few levels. It was supposed to contain ham, but there wasn't a whole lot of it, plus it tasted a little off, for lack of a better way to describe it. The biggest bummer of all though, is that it was ultra heavy and dense. I don't know about you, but I like my Biscuits light and flaky. There were some GORGEOUS looking Layer Cakes on display during our visit. From what I understand, this is where the strength of this place lies, something I would be most happy to uh, investigate personally on a return visit. But for now, at least, this spot is just 'A-OK' for me. ps Seating is limited, plus am not sure if there is a public restroom.

Diana S.

Yelp
I started following this bakery on IG upon a search. I was wowed by their creations and looking forward to giving them a try for an upcoming event. I purchased 3 cake slices for a taste test. I didn't like any of them. Not moist at all. Way too sweet. I was super disappointed. What's the point of having such pretty cakes if they're not edible? I ended up throwing them out. What a waste of money. These guys are not cheap. They're overpriced and underwhelming. I fell for the hype. Lesson learned. I gave them a star for aesthetics just from their pics alone and another store for the lady at the window, who was very sweet and informative.

Yelp
Ordered a meyer lemon cake with pistachio from Luckybird for my fiancé's birthday. The cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious! Will definitely be ordering from here in the future!
google avatar

Charli H.

Yelp
The chocolate chip cookie here is divine! I don't know what the secret is but it tasted so fresh, almost warm. It's a perfect mix of crunchy and chewy with just a little kick of salt. Cannot recommend enough.
google avatar

Yelp
A beautiful cute little spot ! First of all- best cappuccino in the area ($3.75) Hot chocolate was okay.. not the best This place specializes in cakes and they're amazing. They are beautiful and rich and professionally made. I don't believe they offer all flavors every day per slice, but you can definitely order a full cake if any of the offered flavors! I tried the double chocolate cake and it was simple and delicious with chocolate chunks inside All the tea cups, plate and forks are cute and romantically vintage. Service was good and the staff was helpful! This place is right off the L Montrose stop!
google avatar

Marina S.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with Luckybird- there's no other way to start this review. I first stumbled across their beautiful "naked" wedding cakes on Instagram, and got so excited when I found out they were opening a bakery in East Williamsburg, right off the Montrose L stop. The space is super cute- it's small (only 2 tables) but has plenty of natural lighting and really adorable decor. Not exactly a great place to hunker down for 5 hours, but perfect for snapping an amazing Instagram and going on your way. Luckybird serves up a delicious selection of cakes, pastries, cookies, and ice cream (in the summer at least), but what you should be getting is the rosewater scone. I'm not playing around when I say this is one of the best scones I've ever eaten in my life. It's super fluffy, light and comes with a generous layer of sweet rosewater icing, which is amazing. Rosewater is a hard flavor to pull off, but Luckybird makes it so delicate, fragrant, sweet, and delicious. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Anyways, do yourself a favor and stop here. If you don't come out of Luckybird with at least one delicious sweet treat, there's something seriously wrong with you.

Yelp
We worked with Amy for our small wedding cake and it was delicious and so beautiful! We also did 4 tasting cakes and all were equally scrumptious! Everything was delivered on time and in one piece. Amy was quick to respond and a pleasure to work with!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered a cake for our wedding. It was just the regular cake, not the "wedding" cake, but it was still so beautiful and tasty. It came with flowers on top that really matched our wedding flowers by chance. It's a different style of cake than I've had before in that the icing is hard like to hold the layers in the shape, but we all really liked it. The cake part was moist and the Meyer lemon flavor was good. It came on time and it was delicious, and it made our day!
google avatar

Marina K.

Yelp
Best cake I ever tried. It's beautiful to look at but it also tastes comforting, like if it were made by mom. Whatever the formula is for the perfect slice of cake, Amy figured it out. Sweet but buttery, lemon zesty but smooth. It was the perfect memory to have of my baby shower
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
What a lovely bakery! It seems like a new place that just opened, based on how there is only 3 reviews of this place so far. Hopefully, this bakery will be able to get more splendid ones! I am eating a slice of their dark chocolate chip cake (dark chocolate cake layered with vanilla bean buttercream and Belgian chocolate chunks) as we speak and it's only 11 AM. I love cake and never find it too early or late to eat cake! Their packaging is awesome and I love the boxes that they put the slices of cake in for you to take home. Even the bird on the box wants some cake. If you don't like cake, there's something wrong with you.

Yelp
This has become my favorite coffee shop in the area. I love that it is open early and the prices are comparable if not cheaper than some of the other few nice new coffee shops (Bake Shop, Little Skips etc). Small but there are a couple tables to sit at and cute decor. Sometimes there are brownie samples which are delicious and makes me want to try everything in the place. Customer service has always been super nice and quick. I never have to wait long for my coffee. Recommend: Almond Chai Latte and the Vanilla Brittle ice-cream.

Yelp
I ordered three cakes ( Vanilla Rose, Meyer Lemon and sprinkle) for a bridal shower held on a Sunday afternoon in Manhattan. My first positive thought I had was "yes! They deliver on Sundays!" Buy it only got better from there. The cakes were delivered perfectly on time and were exquisite. They quickly became a focal point for the room and backdrop to many photos. The ladies "oooh'd and ahh'd" for quite some time over the elegance of the cakes. With all the hype of the presentation, I was sure it would be good but they were by far the most delicious cakes I have ever had. The ladies continued to pour in rave reviews over the different flavors and I was continually asked what bakery I used, as well as to pass on compliments to the baker. I would order these cakes again and again even if the service was terrible, but that is not the case here. From my initial email of interest, through the final delivery, Mary (Assistant to the owner) provided wonderful customer service and was very helpful in her recommendations. I found these cakes on instagram as I live in Texas and was throwing a Bridal shower in Manhattan. I would HIGHLY recommend Luckybird and only wished they delivered to Texas!

Yelp
Best scones in Brooklyn!!! Great find -coffee really good and great place to visit with friend and catch up!!!
google avatar

Jess K.

Yelp
Amy and Mary (Amy's assistant) are very kind and sweet. The cake I ordered for a baby shower came out perfectly beautiful and delicious. The only downside would be very limited contact channel. Sometimes they would take long to replay your email and you have nothing to do except just wait with anxiety.

Leslie P.

Yelp
Amy baked the most delicious chocolate cake I've ever eaten - and I eat a lot of chocolate cake. Her cakes are also exquisitely beautiful. Every item I've had from her bakery has been delicious, and she is an absolute pleasure to deal with. The consummate professional. Would 10/10 recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
2 years in a row we've gotten my partner a birthday cake from here. Last year was our first and since then we decided we'd create a tradition out of it. These cakes, simply put, are perfect. The presentation, the recipes, the consistencies - clearly all decided with care and consideration for all who walk into their charming storefront. Truly a Brooklyn gem.
google avatar

Peggy Y.

Yelp
Yelp led me to this bakery. Sadly, it is only open to the public on the weekend. That did not stop me from trying the rosewater scones. They have rave reviews and I placed an order during the week of my visit to Brooklyn to see what all the fuss was about. So glad I did! Pure Botanical Bliss... I also ordered the lemon coconut scones for my hubby's sake. He loved them and he isn't even into scones. It's now on our list of stops whenever we visit Brooklyn. Only a couple blocks from Human Head Records so it's meant to be.

Yelp
Cute, small bakery and coffee shop in east williamsburg. Best coffee off the Montrose L Stop and great for a cozy Sunday morning! Get an onion-cheddar scone and enjoy the bright atmosphere and chill music. Be sure to grab a punch card as well!

Tam G.

Yelp
Mary and Amy, at Luckybird, were so nice and easy to work with. I saw their cakes on Yelp then on Instagram and fell in love. The cake I got was just as beautiful and so so delicious. The cake was perfect and the delivery was seamless. I'd recommend them to anyone!

Yelp
We chose Luckybird Bakery to make our cake for our small wedding. We went into the shop to taste test the goods, and while the guy at the register was a little slow, Amy's husband helped us out and was super friendly. The cakes we tried were DELICIOUS. We were sold. I contacted Amy by email and she was very responsive and we ordered a small 2 tier cake, with one tier vanilla with rosewater buttercream and the other chocolate with rosewater buttercream, with fresh flowers as decoration. It was really affordable and ended up feeding more people than we had anticipated, with some leftover. The cake was perfect, moist and absolutely delicious. It was also just SO PRETTY. I love the look of naked cakes and the nice balance of cake to frosting and Amy makes them like no other. Really gorgeous, I didn't want to cut into it! Totally recommend. Thank you so much Amy!!

Yelp
Two staffers: One very friendly, one very unfriendly...unclear which is responsible for the great soundtrack. The Ice Cream Sandwich $7.00 has some great components, but is executed poorly. The ice cream is overfrozen and the cookies are oddly also cold, meaning you have to wait more than normal to devour it. That said, the vanilla brittle ice cream was far better than the matcha and rosewater flavors sampled before ordering the sandwich (both of which were overfrozen and served in generous mini scoops in an awkward mini bowl with a large spoon making it comical to try each), and the chocolate chip cookies with Maldon sea salt surrounding the ice cream were very good. $7 is a bit steep, even with better-than-elsewhere cookies, and it's a bit too out of the way, plus it's a cafe type environment with no public restrooms and insanely high stools at the counter (which is at least near the portable A/C). WiFi p/w is chocolatecake

Brian F.

Yelp
I had asked them to make a cake for 40 people in mid March for my 1 year olds birthday. Guests were understandably nervous about attending due to coronavirus. I contacted the bakery to ask if they could make a smaller cake and they said they could offer a credit only towards something else. I understand that there are policies in place, but to not have an flexibility in something so unpredictable seemed a bit ridiculous. Lastly, the cake wasn't even that good, it was so dry, that's not even me being bitter regarding their inflexibility...it just wasn't that great at all. It was beautiful though. Hopefully, their small business will survive this crisis, but if they have any interest in retaining customers the product should be better if their policies are so ridged.

Yelp
This bakery is very beautiful, antique look to it but with a twist. The bakery is open so that you can see into the kitchen. It is such a calming colored space with adorable seating area. However they only have seating space for about six people. This is more of a grab and go place. I went yesterday and tried the chocolate cake with rose water for the first time. I have to say I was very impressed. The taste of rose was powerful yet not overwhelming. The cake was beautiful and it blended very nicely. The service is great and they even offer classes.they are a bit pricey, $6 a slice but the cakes do taste delish. Will be back.

Yelp
I loved this cute little bakery and coffee shop. Their cakes are absolutely gorgeous and at least the pastry I had (the ham and cheddar biscuit) was delicious. Their coffee and tea menu isn't the most creative I've seen but there are all the classics and a few notables (e.g. the salted caramel latte). I tried the flat white and the salted caramel. Both were very good, and the salted caramel in particular hit the right level of sweet. As for the ambience and service, that's what pushed this from four stars to five stars. The place is small but very comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, even taking the time to pick out a particularly pretty tea cup for our coffee when we mentioned we planned to Instagram it. Overall, this is just a really pleasant place. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Their desserts are delicious and beautiful. This is right off the L train (Montrose Ave) and great for when you want a quick bite before hopping on or when you're hangry from dealing with the MTA. Only complaint is that the place is small and can't really seat anyone. I think their coffees and drinks are overpriced for what it tastes, but to each their own. Beautiful latte art nonetheless.

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to have Lucky Bird make my wedding cake. It was a total surprise from my mother who searched high and low for a "naked cake" per my request. Lucky Bird outdid themselves. The cake was absolutely stunning- every single person, including the waiters at the wedding, were in awe of how beautiful it was- and that's before they even tried it. I cringed at the thought of having to cut into it because it was so pretty... but I'm glad we did, cause the best part of course was how delightfully delicious it was. All you heard across the table was "yummmmmm", and people looking for seconds. My mom later told me what a pleasure it was to work with Amy and how accommodating Lucky Bird was. I don't know when I will be needing another cake, but I do know that when the time comes, I'm going straight here!

Yelp
I found this cute bakery on yelp and pre ordered a cake for my friend's birthday. They were extremely accommodating and the service was amazing. I was coming from Long Island so I took the risk and the customized cake turned out AMAZING. Everyone loved it and asked where it was from with great compliments. I got the vanilla rose cake customized with gold flakes and the flowers come on top! *Also, I was in contact with Mary and she was SUPER friendly and make me feel like my cake order was safe in her hands. She was very detailed and she really made my experience with luckybird great!

Yelp
This bakery is off the charts. Not only are the owners (Amy & Jean-Pierre) the kindest, sweetest people ever, the treats are delicious. Never would I have thought that rosewater would make for yummy pastries and cakes but wow is it incredible. I recommend EVERYTHING!
