"A new bar and lounge, Lucky’s, is heading to Central East Austin. Lucky’s is moving into 1050 East 11th Street, in the space that Italian restaurant Sagra vacated in 2016, is open now with limited hours, expanding to regular hours on Tuesday, January 31. Lucky’s will serve small plates with a focus on what they describe as Mexican fusion fare. The menu includes casual dishes like a quesadilla with kimchi, a soba noodle bowl, and sweet chili wings. It will eventually add brunch. Executive chef Marissa Tuñon comes to Lucky’s from Chicago, where she worked at José Andrés restaurant Bazaar Meat and a sports bar called Passport. The drinks menu includes is divided into cocktails (like a spicy margarita or an espresso martini with vodka or mezcal), frozen drinks (the Felix Felicis has vodka, triple sec, genepy, plum bitters, lemon, and lemon sugar), mocktails, and shots, including a nonalcoholic option. Beverage director Kevin Guerrero also comes from Chicago, where he worked at Indian tasting menu restaurant Wazwan, British pub Owen & Engine (which won the 2022 Eater Chicago Award for Comeback of the Year), and the Drake Hotel. The name Lucky’s comes from managing partner/acting general manager Zach Womble’s late senior rescue dog. As such, the lounge will offer “dog-friendly programming,” according to a press release, when its patio opens in the spring (until then, the bar is not dog friendly). Lucky’s also plans to give back to local rescues. The bar has a good luck charm theme, its logo is the maneki-neko (the lucky cat). Its first day of limited service started earlier this week on Tuesday, January 24. Lucky’s will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Friday, and until 1 a.m. on Saturday." - Erin Russell

Tasty upscale bar food, and my drink was delicious. I definitely had the best drink with the Sanguine Howl. Even after being multiple times and having different drinks, I'll come back for the Sanguine Howl. The other drinks don't suit my tastes. I love that they give you a choice of a welcome shot. Great way to start the experience. I would say the food is more small plates, so I probably wouldn't try to do a full meal here, but the food is tasty.

Very chill vibes, the staff was so friendly and very attentive. If you want a comfortable and intimate spot where you can actually have a conversation and not having to yell over overly loud music, come here. They sat us on this cute little couch and table area and have such good drinks. Will definitely have to go back to try their food. One thing I can only complain about here was the bright white LED lighting above our seating. Warm lighting would have been much easier on the eyes and setting. Other than that, everything was great!

I found Luckys while visiting from Chicago and The NA cocktails were so delicious!! Where am i going to find a drink that lives up to the Don’t Be Koi now that I’ve left Austin?!. I even went back the next night. Pro Tip: try the Chihuahua Valhalla as a NA — it’s not listed on the menu but it’s soooo good. I was even greeted with a NA welcome shot, to my surprise and delight. The staff was super friendly & seemed really knowledgeable. I was with non-sober friends and the bartenders even created impromptu cocktails based on mood. I loved the entire vibe. It was chill but upscale — a great mix! 10/10

We came for the soft opening. I like the atmosphere, and I look forward to checking it out once things are established. I like the atmosphere, reminds me of neighboring Old Thousand. Our favorite thing was one of the cocktails with Mezcal, but everything else was just kind of meh unfortunately. I ordered this drink with a “flaming lime” which looked super cool, but the server tried to light it and he couldn’t get it so he just told me it was supposed to light. . .

Went in for a quick drink before dinner and were happily surprised to have $5 frozen cocktails because it was over 100 degrees F that day! And we got a free house shot in the cutest glasses. The service is mega friendly and there is plenty of comfortable seating for larger parties. Definitely better as a nighttime locale and the cocktails sounded really good

Really loved this place- easy to get to and park near by, walkable to other places and really cool atmosphere. It’s chic without losing quality of why someone would go to a bar- good drinks and food. Welcome shots are offered when you arrive, and it’s a tasty fun way to start the night! The food was so good, I would call it upscale bar food, but without the portions being too small or the price tag too large. The Yuzu Tart dessert is a must- it was amazing! I would recommend this place for both friendly local gatherings and an up and coming hot spot to take out of town visitors!

I would like to state that the food and drinks at Lucky restaurant are excellent. My companion ordered steak and potatoes, while I opted for deviled eggs and chicken flautas, both of which were delicious. Even though there were tater tots for potatoes, the steak was delectable. It would have been lovely if they had served mashed or even baked potatoes. I felt that the supplied tater tots did not complement the delicious steak. Additionally, they offer complimentary welcome shot when you visit. There was a pleasant relaxed ambiance. If you are a dog enthusiast, you can bring your pet along. Our waiter continuously checked in on us to ensure our satisfaction. The restaurant's location in the downtown district is advantageous. Check out this location; you will not be disappointed.

Great selection of cocktails and cheaper than on the other side of the highway. Friendly, helpful staff. On a weekday at 6:30pm it wasn't too crowded.

Yelp
The first time I visited Lucky's I was impressed with the open lounge ambiance and greeted with a warm hello. The bartender suggested the Frose; I said YES, please. The bartender serviced a welcome shot alongside the Frose', a perfect way to welcome a new customer. The dollar wings with the sweet and spicy sauce rapture your taste buds, paired with the Frose, takes you to a place of wow! Lucky's had me at the welcome shot, Frose' and those WINGS! Now one of my favorite Sunday Lounge spots.

Yelp
Man, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this bar is going to last long term. It's in such a weird location that I've never seen more than a handful of people in here. That said, I do like the bar. Credit to their bartender Reid who's served me twice and was great at his job. The bar has some crazy good specials like $1 wings on Sundays and $5 frozens when it's over 100°. This summer that was like every day so pretty solid special. Hard for me to make it out to this bar considering the location, again, but I'll definitely try to keep them top of mind.

Yelp
This place is super cute and friendly! When you come in, they give you a welcome shot of one of their cocktails to start, which was very appreciated. We enjoyed our cocktails, mine was covered in a gorgeous black salt. As usual, the drinks in Austin are insanely expensive, but I guess I was prepared for that. I had the Tenentea shot and the Sanguine Howl. They were tasty but I still think quite overpriced. For food, we tried nearly every dish that was available that night, including the CHICKEN BAO SANDWICH, DEVILED EGGS, AHI ROLL, KIMCHIDILLA, ASIAN-GLAZED WINGS, and something that came with tater tots (I can't remember now). Everything was pretty good. I liked the deviled eggs a lot, and the chicken bao. I thought the ahi tuna was a little weird on the bread for a lobster roll, since it seemed more like a raw item that would go better with a fresh crunchy something-something. The kimchidillas were also just so-so. Service was good and we had a nice time. It is kind of like a very upscale dive bar. The food is just classier/fusion versions of regular bar food, and then they have very fancy drinks, but it is mostly a bar/lounge setting versus a restaurant. The tables are all coffee tables and the seating is mostly lounge-style, so it is kind of hard to sit and eat a meal. I felt like I was really having to bend over the table, which isn't the classiest look. I would still go back and probably sit at the bar...although they were playing the new Scream movie at the bar TV, which I also thought was a little weird (and dive-bar vibes).

Yelp
New spot on East 11th! Got a recommendation to try this place from Rachel of @512bites on Instagram. What I tried: J&J - got this as a complementary welcome shot which was a great way to start off the night. Loved the mandarin flavor and how it made the shot not to overpowering and slightly sweet. Heads Up - Lucky's take on a espresso martini left me wanting more I must say. 2/5 stars. It was just very strong and didn't have the best balance of flavors. After visiting I would say this is a great spot to start your night at. Good amount of seating so it can accommodate larger parties, but if you are looking for a more social or high energy spot you will want to bar hop. The staff is super friendly and one of the owners even came over and introduced himself to us, but if you are looking for more than just to grab a drink with a friend or two you may want to consider a different spot.

Yelp
Cute bar spot! I think this place opened up recently and the bar is very well decorated. I like the large bar seating and countertop they had. We ordered some food here and the tater tots and the bao was pretty good. The drinks here are also super pretty as you can see in the photos. The frose actually had a decent amount of alcohol in it and the service is also pretty fast here. Drinks are a bit pricey but then this place is in downtown austin so its expected.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails!!! Bartender, Vic is friendly and very skilled. Plus, you get welcomed with a free shot when you purchase a cocktail! That's a winner in my book. I got the heads up, a play on espresso martini with mezcal, which was amazing for the kick I needed and it tasted amazing. The "crema" on top was so good. The fifth petal is gin based, and is fresh AF. Great spring/summer drink! Next time, I'll be there for food!

Yelp
* 4.5 stars * Drinks were well made, strong and ambience is intimate but also gives off a sports bar vibe. You'll have to see for yourself. Street parking out front. Super chill experience and love the welcome shot - kudos on the nice touch!

Yelp
I saw a new place opened up in this space and had to check it out because I live down the street. From the outside the ambiance looked lovely, when you actually get in to experience it, it leaves something to be desired. There is a large lounge like area with couches and tables low to the ground. While it looks like it cool, it's not super comfortable and kind of an awkward arrangement. Drinks were okay and as you can see in a picture, fire is involved, which was fun. I wouldn't say the drinks were worth the price. My takeaway was it's an overpriced cocktail bar that doesn't really fit the vibe of the neighborhood but maybe it's just not my style.

Yelp
They start by offering a complimentary cocktail shot with 4 options. All the cocktails on the menu seem original but they also make a great margarita. They offer to customize your drink. Unlike many restaurants, their Caesar salad dressing contains anchovies as it should and is neither too heavy nor too light. The food menu is shorter than the cocktail menu and seems Asian fusion.

Yelp
"So it's probably eighty percent luck and twenty percent skill." - Chris LeDoux This place takes cocktails to another level. Their attention to detail and blending of flavors is unmatched. Each drink is more crave-able than the last. Please try the food, excellent wings and I cannot wait to see what else they come up with. Their menu and drinks are limited since they have just opened, but their selection has left me thirsty for more.

Yelp
It's closed. Permanently. Well at least that's what it looked like. We tried to go there for our @thebookatx and it was emptied out.

Yelp
We came here this past weekend and I loved the vibe. At first we were seating in a super tiny table and I was skeptical. But the drinks were amazing. We also ordered the chicken bao tacos, deviled eggs, and tator tots. The tator tots were perfect. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect seasoning. I would definitely come back here. And I loved that they played a bunch of old school music that I grew up with.

Yelp
Complimenting mix of casual/classy dining lounge with hand crafted cocktails. The perfect spot to sit with friends to spill tea and Prosecco. The cocktails are made with premium liquors and spirits. Dishes are perfectly portioned bursting with flavor The interior design is well thought out with the perfect twist of Austin's weirdness. Recommend for social cocktails and a nice date night.

Yelp
I came here with a big group of friends and we were all super excited to try the cocktails and all the food. Not a single thing disappointed! The decor is super cute and the bartenders were very friendly. They offer FREE welcome shots - you can pick from like 4 different options including NA! The cocktails are exquisite- I tried 3 different ones and both the frozen drinks too. Everything was divine and came with beautiful garnish. The Sanguine Howl was my favorite, with their take on an old fashioned coming in a very close second. The food was outstanding, we ordered pretty much the entire menu. Everything was so good but the Ahi Tuna Roll was my favorite. Think lobster roll but reeeeally good tuna. I had an absolute blast at this place and already can't wait to come back and try some more drinks!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place and will definitely be a regular stop. Parking is easy on street or even a small (non affiliated) parking lot a block away. The drink options were great. Very impressed with the quality of drinks and the selection. The decor was amazing and dim lighting was perfect for evening drinks. The service was great and offered recommendations. The welcome shot was a fun and nice gesture. The food options looked great but we did not eat this visit. I will say from instagram posts it looks phenomenal. Excited to return!

Yelp
Great date night, Great night cap place, great neighborhood bar, and great destination bar. Great staff, great food, and great drinks.

Hello K.

Yelp
Wonderful cocktail presented fast and tasty! Elegantly decorated with regal colors! Nice music to vibe out too as you indulge in your spirits inside or outside. Very good service everyone works together to make you not wait. Mexican Asian food that taste really good!! It's a VIBE!

Sonya M.

Yelp
Brunch does not disappoint! I love their chicken and Waffles. You HAVE to try it. I also really enjoy how fast the service is. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I love the ambiance of the bar. I've attended upscale events here and they've been such a hit. I also have gone on date night and it's 100% an amazing spot to go have drinks together. Upscale, intimate, and classy! However, could also go casual there. Austin is casual, after all! Espresso martinis? CHEFS KISS!

Keri C.

Yelp
Visiting from Denver but an Illinois native. Felt just like home =) The cava bottles were perfect and the welcome shot was a much needed cool drink to beat the Austin heat!

Kaitlin R.

Yelp
Great vibes. They have couches for lounging while having your drinks. Being welcomed with a shot was a wonderful surprise. The Cava service was delightful. Will definitely come back.

Belle N.

Yelp
Great service! Stopped by Tuesday 05/16 on a date night. We ate at Old Thousand and decided to have 1 cocktail which turned into 2! We were offered a complimentary welcome shot which was tasty!

Kevin D.

Yelp
Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Overpriced drinks ($9 beer, $17 cocktail) and extremely awkward atmosphere.
