Where to eat and drink when you’re attending the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"Inside the convention center, I noticed Ace’s and Lucky’s eating areas are brand-new additions after a year of renovations by Centerplate with help from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority; they feature sleek point-of-sale terminals, more seating and table space, new furniture, digital signs and other modern upgrades." - Eater Staff

As a native to Charlottesville I thought it was exciting to see that there is a Cheesesteak restaurant. However, I was somewhat disappointed in the service that I received my first time there I commute from Richmond to Charlottesville for work and on my way back home(7pmish) I decided to stop in to get a cheesesteak. Upon my arrival no one greeted me or asked if I wanted to drink or if I want to order food which left me to ordering on the kiosk. I was expecting to have my food in 20mins +/- 5 however,it took all of an hour to receive my food. No one checked or provided updates on my wait time. This delayed my return home tremendously. As a customer who wanted eat in and experience the atmosphere of the restaurant Ihad to no choice opt for the road. No apologies or explanation were given. The sub was decent I imagine it would have been better hot. Not sure if this is the usual but was my first experience there, it was underwhelming.

This place is a joke. We showed up 15 minutes before closing—plenty of time to order—and the staff had already locked the doors and started pretending the place didn’t exist. Lights dimmed, people cleaning up, ignoring customers outside like we were invisible. If you’re that desperate to go home early, maybe don’t work in food service. We drove out of our way for a cheesesteak, and instead got a masterclass in laziness and bad attitude. Don’t post business hours you clearly have no intention of honoring. Nothing says “we don’t care about customers” like shutting down early and hoping no one notices. Save your time and money—there are plenty of spots nearby that actually want your business.

Google
Wife and I decided to get something to eat late this past Sunday night. I googled for any restaurants still open after 9:30PM. Among the returned restaurant names was Lucky’s Cheesesteaks and Subs. We found parking within 100ft of Lucky’s. We read the posted menu and decided to partake of the food. We both ordered the Classic Cheesesteak. I added some peppers and mushrooms to mine, my wife added just the peppers. We added a shared order of onion rings and diet cokes. Lordy, these were the BEST cheesesteaks we have ever eaten. The onion rings were perfect with their added crunch of bread crumbs!!!! You won’t be disappointed eating at Lucky’s.

Cheesesteaks are amazing, service is top tier! Shout out Adam, Lucky, Mikayla and Daisy! Try the lemon drop, pretty darn good!

Pretty good bowls for a really good price. They serve up good portions too. You can also make your own bowls. They have vegetarian options and different flavors. We enjoyed it.

Just ordered over the phone and picked up my order. Got home and the order is completely incorrect. The sandwich I ordered was not made as requested - doesn't look like they took down the details when I spoke with them. My wife picked up the food and they forgot our drinks as well.

Great service & amazing food/cocktails! Light & refreshing but also fulfilling. Definitely will be back :)

Google
We ordered a couple of cheesesteaks and some sweet potato tots to go. They were ready quickly, and pickup was easy. Seemed like a cool place for a drink but the food was just ok, not something I'd seek out to eat again. It was also more than $8 for the small box of tots with a tiny cup of warm ranch that was not good. I'd say it's probably a good spot for late night "drunchies" though.

Yelp
Wanted to share another spectacular review for this place. Wish there was a 10 star rating because this place deserves that without a doubt. My first visit had me hooked on the cheesesteaks! If anyone knows anything about Philly and the cheesesteaks it's all about the rolls! One of the items I ordered had mayo on it - accidentally and I reached out and let them know and Dec the owner quickly responded. Went back with my son a few weeks ago and he ordered a hoagie without mayo and it was perfect. The waiter accidentally charged for that item - however Dex had responded to my initial email and replied a hoagie on us for your next visit. My son insisted on not saying anything about the charge. Dex - being a customer oriented owner of the business - came out a bit later and checked that we were not charged and removed the charge. What a great model for a business owner. Anyone looking for the real deal and a real Philly cheesesteak, hoagie this place rocks. Heading back soon for a roast pork the south Philly way and Chicago beef soon. IT ALL STARTS WITH THE BREAD #lisciosbakery

Yelp
Not in Philly. But saw this place a year ago and decided I needed to go one day. Today was the day. Three stars for effort and staff and service. But...would only give two stars for the food. The cheesesteak had the right texture of meat, the whiz from the can and the bread were all perfect. I added marinara for a pizza steak feel. The cheese fries were reminiscent of my first batch of cheese fries in Philly from 1983. So...why only two stars? The chef salted the meat. That's a no no for a steak. The entire sandwich was outdone by the sodium. It Was Salty As Heck I finished it...but I won't go back. Pretty sure my ankles will be swollen tomorrow. Again...great people. Great patrons. Great location. Decent prices. But only go if u are salt deficient.

Yelp
Actually really pleasantly surprised with how good their cheesesteak is. I've been to MANY of the big cheesesteak places in Philly (Angelo's, delessandros, pats, Genos, campos, Steve's, etc) and the godfather sub from Lucky Blues is way up there with some of the best I've had. The bread was fresh and tasty and the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Could do a little sweeter on the onions/peppers but otherwise this sandwich is amazing. Great portion too. Probably the best you'll find in cville. Tried their chicken tenders as well - the Italian breading is really not my thing but their sauce and the quality of the tenders are both good. Overall, very solid place for a cheesesteak. Would go back again!

Yelp
I usually don't bother writing reviews, but after seeing how Lucky Blue's treats customers, I can't stay quiet. We showed up 15 minutes before closing and were flat-out de You'd think a place that calls itself Lucky Blue's would make you feel lucky to eat there. Nope -- more like unlucky to even try. We showed up well before closing, but the doors were already locked and the staff was inside cleaning up like the night was over. Guess customer service clocks out early here. Then I looked up their reviews -- and wow. The owner actually argues with people online instead of fixing issues. That tells you everything about the attitude behind the counter. Between the early closing, the rude energy, and the childish responses to feedback, this spot isn't worth the hassle. We're lucky we didn't waste our money here.

Yelp
A new must stop when we're in town. Both the cheesesteak and the Italian were bangin'. Some of the best subs I've found in quite a while.

Yelp
Flew in late on a Tuesday night and there weren't too many food options that delivered to the Draftsman. Ordered a meatball sandwich and side of fries. Came on time via Grubhub (prescheduled to arrive when I arrived). The fries were sadly totally mushy and wet by the time I got the food, so I skipped them completely. The sandwich was good, mostly because the meatballs were so tender and flavorful. There was solid garlic and spice in the marinara sauce, so heads up if you can't handle some kick in your food! The bread however was soggy but held up decently well throughout, rather than completely disintegrating. Couldn't really tell where the cheese was, maybe melted into the sauce or into the bread. Basically stars are for being open late, yummy meatballs in the sandwich, and a great sauce! But the fried and bread disappointing, but I suppose that's always a gamble with delivery.

Yelp
This is a really cool new place downtown. The food is pretty good, but the prices are great. Huge bowl of well seasoned, crispy fries for only three dollars! I'm in. The drinks are great as well and the bartenders are always really friendly, even making us a special off-menu Capri Sun with vodka. The best part about this bar is the atmosphere. At Night they play great throwback music, at the perfect volume where you can still chat with people near you. Their decor is awesome, mug shots of famous stars and cool neon signs and plants. This is a great place to grab a drink and snack, and I'm excited to come more in the future.

Yelp
New menu is insanely good! what an upgrade. Staff is always welcoming and down for a good story exchange. most approachable prices in town and the perfect spot to chill and have a drink and a quick bite, inside or out!

Yelp
Lucky Blues is relatively new bar on the downtown mall with a great atmosphere. The inside was very well designed, and I can see it being a great spot for a night out on the town. They serve cheesesteaks and a variety of grain bowls. The diverse menu options means that there is something for everyone. I came for lunch, and got the The Godfather, which was a Philly steak with onions, peppers, and provolone. We also ordered a basket of fries. The fries were the best part of the meal: perfectly crispy and expertly seasoned with delicious cajun spices. The cheesesteak itself was good, but I found the bread a little soggy and the flavor of the meat a little underwhelming. The prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes, and overall it was a delicious and filling meal. I will definitely return to Lucky Blues to try a drink off their expansive bar menu in the near future!

Yelp
What a great find! Excellent food and service. We stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed the ambiance. There are choices for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! We were visiting the downtown mall and were starving. Walked into Lucky Blues as it was the first restaurant we saw. So glad we did. The bar / restaurant has moody vibes which we loved. The food was delicious! My daughter had the chicken fingers. I had a bowl. YUMMO! Honestly, I wish we lived closer because I'd be back there today. Prices were SUPER reasonable and service was great. They were short staffed when I visited (right after Christmas) with only 2 people working and you'd never knew it because everything was great. Will be back again!

Yelp
Awesome customer service and one of the best Philly cheesesteak I ever had. I loved the cheese fries and steak and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
We went here on a Saturday night, so of course it was very busy. The employees and crowd were very friendly. The drinks were delicious. The only frustrating part is we wanted to order food and it literally just turned 11 PM, and the bartender told us the kitchen was closed. Would have been nice if someone gave us a 30 minute heads up, so if we wanted to place any orders we could have.

Yelp
I came here when they first opened. I didn't know anything bout it what kinda of food or drinks or anything. There was just a sign on the street basically saying come in. Wish we stayed far away. The menu was very strange. It had no concept. Like burrito, Philly cheesesteaks, and bowls like what is the theme or culture of food. Even the drinks were limited and got awful. The service was crappy also. Honesty avoid, it's nothing special.

Yelp
I love this place! Casual atmosphere with great tunes, friendly service and great food & drinks!

Yelp
Good value divey bar. Friendly staff. Stop by to get a bite or drink. Special is deep fried burito.

Yelp
Late night want turned to salty horror. I don't know who made the fries but they had so much salt on them I can salt all my food for a month from the fries. I saw great reviews but even the cheesesteak bread was dry. I'm sorry but I won't be trying again. You can see the salt!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and it didn't disappoint. It gives the appearance of an upscale dive bar and a unique addition to the downtown mall. The inside has such great vibes but I sat outside cause it was a nice day. The food was pretty quick and the cheesesteak was probably my favorite one that I've had in Charlottesville - the Mics Hot was perfectly tangy yet still had that classic cheesesteak taste. Even the fries were delicious as they were perfectly crisp with a nice cajun seasoning. The staff were very friendly as well and added to the overall great experience!

Yelp
One of the best new finds- if you need a cheesesteak fix, this is the place. Open evenings in the same spot as Citizen Bowl Shop on the mall, I randomly stumbled upon this hidden gem and crave it all the time now. They have a limited menu of cheesesteaks, bowls, burritos, and drinks but it's honestly all you need. The place has awesome chill vibes inside and they have outdoor seating as well. The cheesesteak is classic and filling, brought out in an unassuming paper bag. It's savory, cheesy, packed full of steak and piping hot. I do want to try the other food but it's really hard not to get the cheesesteak.

Ashley F.

Yelp
Terrible service and food is not good. The waitress "accidentally" charged me $14 for the wrong meal - and then "reversed" the charge and recharged me $30 for what she thought was my meal. Lied about refunding me for her mix up. So she got extra tips off of me. I think they try to get by over charging because they think the bachelorette parties are always super drunk. Lol don't go here. Terrible drinks too.

Yelp
Very yummy cheesesteaks. Looks like a hole in the wall but has excellent cheese steaks and great service!

Yelp
This place was delicious! They have a lot of options and are pretty flexible if there is something you cannot eat. Also easy to replace chicken with tofu (if you are a vegetarian) Delicious and would highly recommend if you are looking for a yummy Mexican restaurant. If your at the mall in Charlottesville consider going here!

Yelp
Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere - just what Charlottesville needed!

Yelp
Delicious and fresh! We loved the salad and tofu bowl last night. Drinks were great too and service was very friendly.
