10 NYC Streets That Are Ideal For Outdoor Dining Right Now | Eater NY

"LCZ Restaurant represents the major Fujianese presence with an ambitious menu of seafood casseroles (try razor clam or mussels), hand-pulled noodles, spicy stews, bouncing fish balls, and a profusion of chicken and pork offal—altogether one of the most exciting menus on Eighth Avenue." - Eater Staff

Google
We found this place based on gluten free suggestions while on a road trip. Based on this pictures, I knew this was going to be a good choice, but I had no idea it was going to be incredible! I love how knowledgeable and accommodating they are for people with gluten allergies and Celiac disease, the staff was friendly and the food was a must try! We split the chicken Alfredo and the vodka rigatoni and it was hard to pick which one was better. I loved the richness of the alfredo but the vodka red sauce boasted so much flavor and depth. We will 100%be back! This place is also in prestine condition, very well kept and very clean, deep and restored wood floors, and a unique atmosphere that you'll want to experience

Nestled right in the heart of downtown Crown Point, Lucrezia’s is a gem. Met my dad here for lunch and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The Victorian house setting is charming, and the patio is hands down AMAZING—perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. I had the Sausage and Rigatoni, and the red sauce was thick, rich, and full of flavor (a little spice would’ve taken it over the top, but still excellent). The highlight, though, was the lemon cake—absolutely killer. Do not leave without trying it! A wonderful local spot in Crown Point that I’ll definitely be back to.

I highly recommend coming here for a date night. The food, service, and atmosphere here is impeccable. The short ribs are by far the best I've ever had.

Everything about this establishment was incredible from start to finish. I felt like I was back in Italy. The food is some of the freshest I’ve ever had in Northwest Indiana.

Google
Food was amazing! Service was ok. Jonah was great! Drinks were great. Not a fan of dark restaurants, couldn’t see the menu😐

Google
Anthony was absolutely amazing. I personally prefer service that gives real and approachable as opposed to corporate and fake. Anthony was extremely kind, knowledgeable about the food and asked questions if he was not, and made sure that we were taken care of. he even advocated for a different preparation of the creme brûlée based on our feedback and had open and honest conversations. i cannot tell you how much i appreciated the real attitude he had. the food was great. Lucrezia is our go-to Italian spot and I hope to have Anthony again!

Just had dinner here and I'm so sad to say I was very disappointed. We've lived in Crown Point for about 10 yrs now and have always loved having this restaurant so close to us. We used to come here almost once per week (granted it was usually on a less busy weeknight). I'm not sure if it was just too busy or they are understaffed (only saw 1 waitress and 1 waiter in our whole indoor area) being that it is a Sat evening. My husband and I wanted a light dinner so we ordered the shrimp appetizer and some chicken ceasar salads. I have always raved about the quality of the food here but not today. When they brought us our shrimp I had mine in one bite and I immediately tasted something bitter. My husband was eating one of his shrimp when I decided to flip the rest of the shrimp over and they were charred black. I let our waitress know and they brought us a whole new appetizer but I could not get over that they were aware the shrimp were burnt and simply flipped the burnt side over. When I had ordered my salad I asked for no croutons. I know, I'm weird but it's a texture thing for me. When they brought us our salads I looked at my husband and he immediately knew what I was going to say but told me he didn't remember hearing me ask for no croutons. I let it go and thought maybe I had forgotten. I picked the croutons off and started eating, although I didn't really eat much of my salad because I was not enjoying my meal. When we were done the waitress saw the croutons on a side plate and acknowledged that I had asked for no croutons. At that point I was just ready to go. The last time we came here I had a similar experience but figured nothing can be great all the time. I'm sad to say that for what we pay for dinner here, I will likely not be coming back.

Google
The waitress was so kind and helped explain the menu to us. We were first timers tonight and absolutely enjoyed everything! The food was to die for! I love the set up of the restaraunt and how easy flowing everything felt.

Yelp
Went to lucrezia and had there roasted airline chicken tonight,Wow it was delicious! The service was excellent and the desert was great!! If your looking for great food and service and great atmosphere this is the place!!

Yelp
Stopped in here a few days ago for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated quickly and served a nice baguette with oil and shredded cheese. We ordered a drink and the shrimp over cabbage as an appetizer which was excellent! My wife had the pasta trio and I ordered something I have never done before, the duck breast with veggies and potatoes. It was outstanding! Duck was perfectly cooked, very tender. I hope they make this a regular item.

Yelp
Came in on. Saturday night around 8 pm and it wasn't too busy at all which was a nice surprise! Our waitress let us choose our table and we had a nice cozy corner spot. Only thing I didn't like was how tiny the table was as we had to move a bunch of stuff off of it to another chair. We started off with their complimentary bread and cheese and oil which was really tasty. We grabbed a bottle of red and ordered the shrimp Alfredo and the chicken cavatappi. Both dishes were really good though I wish I would have had said no onions for the cavatappi plate. Overall cool neighborhood spot and I recommend you try it yourself!

Terra L.

Yelp
I was there early on a Sunday so it wasn't too busy. Service was quick and attentive. You almost forget the restaurant was a house, it is so was amazing to see inside. The food was so good that I almost finished it all! That is unusual for me but I couldn't stop. I would recommend and I would also come back!

Yelp
Great Italian restaurant in downtown Crown Point. I had Beef Wellington and it is 3 smaller pieces, which helps ensure it is cooked properly. Wide variety of dishes and I hope to come back to try some of the other entrees.

Cathy H.

Yelp
I had the worst filet mignon ever, and it was as expensive as the best I've ever had. Very disappointed. The other dishes looked wonderful.
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
Food has definitely gone downhill in the past year. Too bad, we used to enjoy this place but we've given it too many last chances.

Lea M.

Yelp
Unsatisfied. I ordered rigatoni smoked chicken and fettuccine Alfredo and salmon to go. Horrible. For the price you pay it's disappointing, if I wanted to nasty pasta I would have just went to Olive Garden. It's unfortunate because this used to be my favorite Italian spot.
google avatar

Bob C.

Yelp
Wound up out here for a family event. It's like an old house don't gives you a feeling of dinner at moms. Food was ok , as I had lasagna which was different but still good. Other family members had chicken which they said was good. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was very good. It's the kind of place you'll either like or go eh, I liked it
google avatar

Blake B.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times and haven't been disappointed, the olives are my ABSOLUTE favorite paired with the bread and the pasta is always a go to. I've had pleasant service every time I've been and it has the luxury feel while still feeling like a great neighborhood spot.

Yelp
Give it a shot Great beer and cocktail selection. Fantastic outdoor atmosphere. Was highly disappointed with the staff. The grated cheese actually had mold in it, and it had to be pointed out. And the food and wine prices have gone through the roof here.

B H.

Yelp
I've eaten here on several occasions. This would be my last time. The food was vile. The service was worse. If one could rate this zero stars, I would. Disgusting "smoked chicken" that tasted like ham floating in oil with mushy rigatoni for $26. The waiter knew I didn't like it and said he would "be happy to charge me for another meal." Really? He'd be happy? Passive/aggressive jerk. We will never return.
google avatar

Meg S.

Yelp
Came here with my husband for lunch and the food was delicious! We sat outside by the patio and it was such a beautiful day. The only downside of being here was that the service was a little slow. However, I don't blame that on the waitress at all. It seemed like she had the entire patio on her own and it was quite busy. The only reason why this didn't get 5 stars is because I got the daily vegetable and it was green beans with almonds. I do have an allergy and luckily they were quick to get me a veggie without nuts on it. I do think that this should've been disclosed, but it did not make or break the meal at all. Will definitely be back!

Missy M.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service. This place is run like a well oiled machine. Our waitress Maureen W made our dining such a delight!!!
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
Nice location in Crown Point. Lovely atmosphere and the food is of good itialian quality. Most of the staff are friendly. There is one waiter that has some attitude. Just ignore it. Go with another couple and enjoy the good food and conversation.

Chris A.

Yelp
Food was great overall. Mentioned it was my girlfriend's birthday 3 times and did not get one happy birthday wish. Though not expected, wishing a customer happy birthday when made aware seems a minimal bar for a nicer restaurant. Also, do not expect anything special in the form of dessert or gesture when it comes to special celebrations as this does not appear custom here. Maybe unfairly high expectations led to slight disappointment in service, especially when it comes to special occasions.

Chris W.

Yelp
Had a great first experience here! We sat on the outdoor patio which had a great ambiance. We ordered the Four Cheese Pizza, chicken Alfredo, and spaghetti with spicy marinara. All items were fresh and flavorful. Will definitely return again!

Anna

Yelp
Shouldn't be in business. Rude staff, interior is trashy, food tastes like it was frozen and microwaved. People need to up their standards, my family had an awful experience.

Bradford P.

Yelp
I was shocked at how incredibly unprofessional this place is. They don't take reservations, which is crazy, but me and my wife figured we'd give it a shot on a Saturday night. Big mistake. We walked in, and the hostess barely glanced up, we asked for a table for 2, she muttered "ok", after around 2-3 minutes she said to us "we're getting our table ready". Fair enough, we thought--until three couples strolled in after us, and put their names in, and guess what? After around 15 minutes, they all got seated first, while we stood there like idiots, completely ignored. When we said something, the staff had the nerve to shrug it off with a pathetic, "We must have missed you", which is odd as we were standing right next to the host stand. They then said "oh sorry, mistakes happen." Mistakes? More like incompetence. Their grand solution? Toss our name back on the list like that's some kind of favor. No accountability, no hustle to fix it--just a half-baked apology and a smirk. And as for the girl that took our names and told us that they were getting our table ready, she just stood there, not saying a word. The entitlement here is off the charts. If you enjoy being treated like an afterthought while others cut the line, by all means, waste your time here. I'll be spending my money anywhere else. Zero stars if I could.

Yelp
This place is dirty and smells like sewer gas. The food is ok but overpriced. I haven't been back in many years.

Yelp
This was an utter delight. A friend and I had lunch in their gorgeous garden. The atmosphere was perfect, as was the food. The house is so lovely. The Italian specialties made it hard to decide which to order. I cannot wait to return.

Susan M.

Yelp
I ordered the the meat lasagne and it was so salty I could not even eat it. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Ho.ly. $#!7!!! Hands down the BEST Italian restaurant I've been to. I used to LOVE pasta & all things Italian until I found out I couldn't have gluten anymore. For the past 15+ years it's been reserved for eating at home, as usually even if gluten-free pasta is served at restaurants, it's often highly contaminated (cooked with regular pastas in the mix). This place, though. O.M.G. First, it's a scratch kitchen. So they can pretty much customize almost anything to allergies! Second, we got there right around 5pm. Sure, it was a weeknight, so probably a lot slower than a weekend, but still... the staff was on POINT! They seated us in a tiny little private alcove overlooking the beautiful back patio and our server told us, "Someone will be with you in a minute." Not even a minute later fresh bread, olive oil & fresh grated Parmesan magically appeared in the hands of the delightful staff. Much to the delight of my husband... I trust his picky tastebuds that the olive oil was amazing. Since I usually can't eat Alfredo and our server said they could make it gluten free, well, I couldn't resist. I added the chicken to give it a little bump of protein and WOW. Used to be my favorite Italian dish and this restaurant revived the dream! I wasn't planning on having dessert until he said, "Flourless Chocolate Cake" which is one of my favorite GF treats to have out... often the only gluten-free dessert I can find at restaurants... but I was NOT expecting what looked like the most amazingly delightful swirled chocolate mousse delight! I didn't believe it was gluten free. It was beyond a party in my mouth. I probably should have saved one slice for later, but I couldn't resist. It. Was. All. So. Good. Hubs had the Stuffed Chicken & a layered chocolate mousse dessert cake thing that the server told me to ignore because it was soooooo good (and definitely not gluten-free). I was super happy with my flourless cake though. Hands-down a MUST eat at if you're in the area!

Yelp
Awesome little spot right off the square... The food is delicious and the service great. My favorite part was the cute little hostess. Mackenzie. Made our whole night. They start the meal off with bread and olive oil and cheese. My husband and son are vegan. They catered to our needs. We left full and happy. They do have a TINY lot for parking.

Michael G.

Yelp
A,ways get a good ,tasty Italian dinner and other superior dishes, plus the service is friendly and helpful.

Janet C.

Yelp
Ok you say to be accessible in the summer but according to another review I found, that is not true as told by a customer that went in the summer time who also had a disability. Instead of making excuses train your staff better. Seeing by your respond saying to drive further away to another location from crown point makes it clear that you have zero knowledge about disabilities, and how it can limit our travel too.

Gary L.

Yelp
Food good. We were celebrating a birthday with family. Always did it on patio. Was told they have a new policy and will not seat 8 or more outside. Had to eat inside. Even though we have came there, they would not seat us until everyone shows up. Another new policy. Service was not good. Food was good. Will not go back, not customer friendly.

Yelp
Nice patio, food was good, good atmosphere, great service. Nice Italian spot for northwest Indiana.
google avatar

Samir H.

Yelp
The bread and cheese and oil was very nice. Not warm or precut for you but the bread itself was of good quality. I did not feel any type of way about the food. I got the sachetti ($22) and it was good but nothing shocking. I think when you come to Lucrezia you are there for the nice ambiance and service. Which is five stars. The servers were very helpful and kind. They packaged my food for me in the back. In particular Toni/Tony helped me out. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas. It was very clean inside. We were allowed to choose our seats. I had a great time with a friend but overall my rating is low because the food was nothing special but the menu is on the pricier side. I would try again if invited here but select a different dish next time.

Yelp
Best Italian restaurant in Northwest Indiana! If you're in the Crown Point area, it's a must try! You will not be disappointed.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Perfect mix of casual yet fine dining. Laid back relaxing dining room with little white lights adorning the ceiling. Food and wine were excellent. The restaurant can handle lots of customers so we weren't rushed out. Great experience. We will be back.

Yelp
I attended Lucrezia recently for a rehearsal dinner, and it was a very pleasant experience. They made me the best side car. I've tasted in a long time. The dish we had was chicken and potatoes and vegetables, and everything was so flavorful and fresh. I also enjoyed our private room we were in. People had so much elbow room and space. No one was all crowded on top of each other while they ate, we ended the night with cheesecake for dessert which was absolutely my favorite part.
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
Last year we had dinner at Lucrezia Italian Restaurant, Crown Point Indiana. I gave rave reviews. SO what happened. Since they were rated #15 in the region for restaurants, I believe this year they will falter. We had family and friends from out of State in this past weekend. I did speak very highly of this location. Raved not only about the food, but the service. Now knowing it was Friday night, and rightly so, they would be busy. So we arrived around 7ish. The hostess took our name and was aware there were 5 of us. She stated it would be 30 to 35 minutes as there was a couple before us and some customers wee ready to leave. Hey, I get it. Not a big deal. Patrons came in and the same spiel was given them. A few had a party of 3 one couple had also arrived. The hostess took their names. Grant it they had a small group, and a small table opened up. While we were there, now 45 minutes waiting and watching small groups come in and be seated, several 4-somes came in. Same spiel, 30-35 minutes. Now we been waiting 50 minutes. She took the 4-some groups and seated them. O.K., so, I went to her and asked why. She stated she only had tables for 4. So, you mean you can't put a chair for the 5th person at the table. She said sorry and said another 15 minutes. Again and again, two sets of 4's came in. They were seated almost immediately. I go up there to inquire, and she said, "What group are you with?" REALLY!!! We been sitting there close to an hour! We decided to go elsewhere. After being embarrassed in front of my family and friends, I had it. IF THIS restaurant can not get decent help hostessing, maybe they should either fire the hostess, or have someone who knows what they are doing! I will NEVER return to Lucrezia again, especially after being treated the way we were treated. We were understanding it was Friday evening and they were busy. The kicker was, a lot of servers were standing around and the hostess was being giggly with the new patrons that were coming in. If I could give zero stars for this unfriendly restaurant I would. I also will NOT vote this year for them. We ended up going to Station 21 with our party. They too were busy. We were welcomed with open arms and were seated within 10 minutes. Additionally, Station 21 food is outstanding and their service impeccable. If you want professional service, Lucrezia, is a place to avoid. Very terrible experience. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Great home style Italian with fancy cocktails, and the best service. Charming decor and homey vibe.
google avatar

Sandy W.

Yelp
It was almost ridiculous like you were eating frozen food. Absolutely horrible. The atmosphere is nice. The service was just OK but the food quality is like some thing. I couldn't even believe they could possibly think of charging those prices. You could get a better meal at a diner. Two people I think our bill was $200 half-price martinis that day and I think we each had two. It would've been different if it actually tasted OK. Not the case.

Becky D.

Yelp
Ordered the special. Was overpriced and just an average meal. The special was a described as a breaded chicken with garlic. It came out and was fine but more of a glorified chicken tender .
google avatar

Scott R.

Yelp
In Crown Point, Indiana... the known hub of fine dining!?!?! I just had the best stuffed pork chop of my life! Everyone in my party was pleased w their meals. Don't miss this hidden gem!!! Easy parking too! Try it! Pork Chop

Willie H.

Yelp
Second visit. First was outside and now inside. The outside is nice if it's not too hot. Inside is rather drab and looks like an old home. Food was good. Salmon was a little overdone. White pizza was tasteless but adding tableside parm helped. Cesar salad at $12 was small and unremarkable. Overall was a pleasant lunch until the $90 check. Value is not there.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
Yesterday we had dinner at Lucretia in Crown Point and dinner was absolutely AWESOM! I had the stuffed pork chop and was the best I have I have ever had in my life. Great job Lucretia! you guys are the BEST............

Vicki R.

Yelp
The food was delicious and flavorful. The house offered a very nice setting. The service was good and attentive. We were there for a while and did not feel rushed (we did ask to make sure we weren't making others wait). The only downside is the parking.

Bob S.

Yelp
Had dinner with my family last night. The staff were not friendly at all. I would not say that they were rude or anything just not friendly. When we arrived, the hostess did not even say "hello" just pointed to a table for us when we told her party of three. We were placed at a table across from what seemed to be an employee break table so we had to listen to them complaining about their days. The food was just "ok". This was our second time at this restaurant, and I understood that it's an older house, but it was very hot and humid in there. My wife and I left sat at the table sweating while we had our meal. Maybe this was why the staff was not happy to be there.
google avatar

Laurie K.

Yelp
I really like this place. We sat outside in the cute patio for a late lunch. There were just a few other groups, who were also outside. The bread with olive oil and cheese was fresh and delicious. We ordered the bruschetta with tomatoes and cheese. I didn't realize the cheese was baked and melted, so it wasn't my favorite since I prefer my bruschetta toppings cold. I got the house salad and requested my dressing on the side. It came with the dressing on it (overdressed for my taste) and for some reason no tomatoes. The iced tea is served in a carafe and was really good. My dining partner had difficulty getting drink refills of his soft drinks at times. We both got the lasagna which was amazing overall but a little too salty (and I love salt). For dessert we had the zucotto cake which was very good and I had a double espresso served in a regular coffee cup and it wasn't very hot. It might sound like we didn't have a good experience, but really we did, it was good but with a few improvements it could have been great. I know It can very loud in the evening inside but the outside patio for lunch was perfectly charming.
google avatar

Keila S.

Yelp
This place did not look like much from the outside, but whatever they may be lacking in exterior appeal, they for sure made up for it in the taste of the their food! I ordered the Fettuccine Salmon. I was more than surprised and pleased by how delicious and flavor packed this dish was! I found myself scraping the bottom of the container just to get every morsel of that pasta. I give this meal 10/10! The hostess was also friendly & helpful. We got our food to-go and it was hot and ready with hardly any wait-time. I definitely recommend!

Laura R.

Yelp
Great fettuccine Alfredo! Nice atmosphere! Wonderful waitstaff! Beautiful old home turned restaurant!
google avatar

Chyna P.

Yelp
Food was yum. I had the sangria, crab cakes, house salad & chicken piccata dish. The server was very pleasant & attentive. We sat outside on the patio since it was a pretty autumn evening. The patio is darling!

Donna K.

Yelp
Employees need to be trained in manners and dietary needs of their customers. I have gluten sensitivity and came to Lucrezia because of their gluten free pasta option. I can eat a half piece of bread and be fine. I can also eat a bowl of regular pasta and be in agony. I discussed the gluten free option with our waitress and we agreed on the gluten free pasta. We ordered gluten free pasta and I ate a small piece of bread. Our waitress announced twice, loudly that we ordered gluten free pasta (listed at the top of their menu) and we're eating bread. We canceled our order and left. I felt very uncomfortable after her announcement. I wondered what we would be served. We have been there several times for birthday and engagement celebrations. The food was wonderful. I decided that today I would have pasta instead of a salad. I won't return and I will share my experience with friends and family.
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
Really good food. Beautiful spot. Helpful staff. Very pricey food and drinks. But in their defense. Costly location, professional staff, and quality food doesn't come cheap
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
I cannot for the life of my figure out how this is the best rated Italian in the region. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. And the bruschetta was warm warm bread I get. But not warm tomatoes... it's a cute place, though! And the service was adequate.

Lawrence L.

Yelp
The atmosphere is pure Italian! Adorable "homey" environment. Friendly and attentive waitstaff! The food was out of this world authentic! I ordered the Cavatapi Alfredo with chicken and mushroom and the flavors were an absolute explosion in my mouth. My husband ordered the Spaghetti with Veal Meatballs which he states were better than his mothers and he comes from a second generation Italian family. I highly recommend this place if your seeking authenticity and flavor with the highest of quality in your food. If your looking for an unlimited "soup and salad" special, this isn't your place. In
