Where to Eat in Oklahoma City | Bon Appétit

"“Ludivine(805 N Hudson Ave) is our neighbor, and it's pretty much where our staff hangs out every night. This was the first restaurant in OKC to really embrace local, super-high-quality ingredients in a high-quantity manner. It’s old school and French-influenced but a fun place to hang out with great specials and cocktails. We’ll get their chicharrón with Cotija cheese and herbs and the classic bone marrow and toast, and our staff drinks all of their Fernet-Branca. ”" - ByAlyse Whitney

Fantastic service! Nice restaurant as well. The food was good, but needs some improvement. The bone marrow was quite greasy, to the point that where it wasn't even worth finishing. The rabbit dish was quite bland, even with salt added. The Foie Gras starter was good. Beef tartar was exceptional. Loved the pork loin roast!!! Overall, good food but could use some changes. May or may not go back to try more. I know the menu changes often.

I honestly don't know where to even start with this place. I don't know if it is the friendly bar staff that served us when we arrived early for a cocktail, the way I crave bone marrow on the regular now, how we made friends with the couple at tables on either side of us, or how I lived in OKC for 8 years and had never been here. We went as a late Valentine's Day date and it was on National Drink Wine Day (Feb 18). My boyfriend and I had reservations and were seated promptly. The setting was quiet and intimate, but not too quiet. Our service was professionally leisure and knowledgeable of the dishes. I don't know what we paid, but I'd pay it again. The quality of the taste in each bite was exceptional.

Great service and deliciously surprising options! The bone marrow was well seasoned and rich, the soup was filling and soul-warming, the house salad was fresh and light, and the tenderloin and mushroom pasta (Al dente) was a perfect crown. We were lucky with a perfect afternoon for outdoor dining. Sam was a great host, attentive and kind.

Everything we had was amazing. Usually when we go out we don’t finish all of our food and every single one of us finished our appetizers and our entire meal. Everyone’s food was so good and we are for sure coming back. I recommend the duck, it had the most amazing flavors and my husband got the sirloin and they were both our favorites. Can’t wait to eat here again.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and loved it. The menu has some outstanding dishes. The service was friendly and hospitable and the patio was lovely. We started the with the charcuterie board and chose cheese, ham & beef. The board came with a great selection of pickled veggies, mustard and crackers. We then enjoyed the green salad and mushroom soup. I loved the deep rich almost bisque like mushroom soup. Delicious. We opted to order the bread service for $4, typically I feel like bread should be complimentary but guys, this bread service is worth every penny. 3 different types of bread, all warm and all AMAZING. Our entrees were delicious: the duck & pork belly. Both plates had a great mix of flavors, thoughtful accompaniments and nice portions. We loved Ludivine and will definitely be back.

Such a great little restaurant! So glad we got to go before they closed this! The food was amazing, the service was superb, and we just had an all around wonderful time!

Lovely Sunday evening experience with the tasting menu. We had two vegetarians and one no-seafood plus me (who eats everything), and they were able to customize the tasting menu per person. Wonderful service, amazing wine list, superb service... a gem on our trip to Oklahoma City!

Where to begin? Ludivine is my absolute favourite restaurant since the first time I’ve been here a couple years back. It’s quite pricy, so we generally only go all-out a couple times a year, and then will drop in for bone marrow/blue plate once in a while. Honestly, if you want a great “farm to table” aesthetic with a French cooking background, this is your place. We always sit at the Chef’s Table because we love interacting with the chefs and watching them do their job. As with any restaurant, we’ve had bad times mixed with the good, but the good far outweigh the bad, and it hasn’t ever been enough to say “this is a terrible place, we’re never going back.” Everyone has off nights. The food is absolutely incredible, the wagyu tenderloin is our favourite cut of beef here, absolutely obsessed with the bone marrow and doing the luge afterwards. They always have something “different” on the menu (i.e. sweetbreads). Brunch is phenomenal. Wine and cocktails are great. Atmosphere is fantastic and it’s beautiful inside. We’ve never met an unfriendly person here. Frankly, I wish they did more puréed potatoes and root veggies than the grits they’ve been really into the last year (personal preference - I’m not a fan of grits). But that’s about the only complaint! They do fun events like having a midnight roast with a local celebrity or group every Friday. They always have really amazing, fun themed dinners. Fall and winter are definitely my favourite menus of theirs. Definitely give Ludivine a chance if you’re around -

Yelp
Review for the bar You can't order the burger at the restaurant, it's only available if you sit in the bar. The burger has potential. I enjoyed the fresh veggies. The tomato was delicious. The server did not ask how to cook the beef patty and I forgot to specify. Mine was served cooked to death (med well). The bun tasted old. A little more effort to warm it up and soften it would have taken the stale edge off. The fries were tasty but overly dressed with some kind of seasoning. They were served hot. I appreciated the offering of a side of mayo for the fries-always a great dipping option, but for $18 I've had far more delicious burger + fry experiences for half the price. All and all, for a party of three we paid about $100 for two burgers & fries plus 3 drinks (one cocktail, one glass of wine, and one draft beer) plus tip-yikes. They were out of the beer on draft that I thought paired best with the burger. This experience was just not what I was expecting at all. I was really disappointed. The service felt cold and awkward. We had to change tables from the main dining space to the bar to order the burger. While the new space is visually stunning, the cozy vibe, warm smiles, and great conversation with the team members while hanging out grabbing a bite listening to great music at the old location has vanished. Bottom line: the food was underwhelming and felt overpriced and the service needs work. I hope the team can rally together; a bit of Ted Lasso magic would do wonders here. The spirit of Ludivine needs some lovin'. I think Team Ludivine has the potential to make magic again, but for the moment, they're out of touch. April 2023

Yelp
I've read a lot recently about folks bemoaning the closure of small restaurants. They must not have eaten here. I went ten day ago and had the worst meal I've had in decades -- seriously. Ordered the rabbit cassoulet, which I'd not had before. Had a smattering of rabbit, a bit of flavorless broth, similar beans topped with burnt slices of sausage. No, the sausage was actually charred -- seriously. And the charred sausage was the bests part of the dish -- seriously. And it was way, way overpriced. Save your money and go to Cheever's. But the ice tea was fine.

Yelp
Valentines 2022 menu for a date night with my husband. The restaurant has a new policy where they require either (1) vaccination proof or (2) proof of a negative Covid test within a few days. They also kept us separated from other tables with a cloth divider. For the food- my husband and I got one of each so we could try everything. The first course was really good! Both light and refreshing. Of second course options I personally preferred the scallops (even though it was a $24 surcharge for 3 scallops- I knew the price when I ordered it,but I think a standard dish of scallops on their own should be $24. Not the extra for ordering it on top of the tasting menu price). My husband had the rabbit for the third course and really enjoyed it. I got the fish and wasn't able to eat it because there was parchment paper that they cut and burnt for an esthetic. The burnt portion and fell into my fish in big and small pieces. I had almost lost my interest in eating by that point. Of the desserts we preferred the bread pudding because the le crème was much denser and rich than my personal preference. If you have a big sweet tooth I'd get that one! Overall I still give it a 4/5 for service and aesthetic, but if I'm being honest I was disappointed by the food for how much we spent.

Yelp
They were running a little behind when we arrived so we spent some time in the bar while we waited and the drinks were okay. It took about 30 minutes for our table to be ready, which was about 20 minutes past our reservation. I understand things that things happen, but it was quite disappointing to wait so long without much of an apology. The food was decent, but mostly I felt underwhelmed for the price of the food. The best dish at our table was the Coffee & Cocoa Rubbed Pork Loin. We overheard other tables talk about their monthly special, so if you decide to eat at here, that may be a good thing to try. We didn't get that as they ask that the entire table get it if you do that option and the monthly special didn't sound appetizing to all of us.

Yelp
I went here for my birthday, and it didn't disappoint! I got the Wagyu burger, and my husband got the wagyu steak sandwich. Ludivine always uses local quality ingredients, and it makes a HUGE difference in the taste of the food! In addition, our server Elijah was really cool and very knowledgeable about anything we asked him. I WILL be back!

Yelp
**Long Review, but Worth It** We were in town exploring OKC over Memorial Day weekend for my wife's birthday and decided upon Ludivine as the main birthday dinner. Within 20 minutes of arriving, the power went out and we became nervous that we'd have to find an emergency backup and lose out on what we thought would be a top experience, yet John and his team came through in a big way. They kept the water going and explained that the transformers had been acting up throughout the weekend (darn those Decepticons!), but that they generally restarted pretty quickly. They were correct and we were able to proceed with the dinner. We did the tasting menu but also added on the Beef Tartare as a starter. The tartare was tangy and soft (due to the house dijon mustard and garlic aioli) but balanced with crisp crostinis. We then had Lions Mane Fritters that were light and airy, but moist and tender inside of the golden, crispy outside. The accompanying sauce was floral which brought out a beautiful spring flavor. After those, we had Roasted tomatoes stuffed with rice and a balsamic vinegar sauce with whipped feta and it was so AMAZING that we both wish we could have seconds or thirds. The main dish was Roasted Rabbit, with both the main legs and a loin each. jIt was served with asparagus and radishes over a bed of cheesy rice. It was so earthy, gamy, filling, and sumptuous that we loved it. The seasoning was spot on. Finally, we had Angel Food Cakes with strawberries and lavender ice cream. It was an incredible dinner. Additionally, since we were the main people sitting at the bar, we were able to watch how each dish was made and speak with the staff about each dish which created one of our favorite dining experiences that we've had since things opened up after the pandemic. We truly loved this evening and spent 3 hours at Ludivine and felt sad that we had to leave OKC because of them!

Yelp
I have always loved the ambiance at Ludivine and our waitress provided the best service at this establishment. The food however... is okay. I was beyond excited to see Rigatoni Pesto ( my favorite pasta) on the menu but this is what I received. Maybe I'm not a chef nor know the "Geometry of Pasta" (per overhearing the chef) but I'm sure this is not Rigatoni... the pasta itself did not taste bad but would've liked this corrected than ignored when I asked about it.

Yelp
Ludivine delivers one of the more consistently interesting and tasty meals in Oklahoma City. This hasn't always been my opinion, but after the previous manager connected with us and had us try again after a first visit that was meh, our experience has generally been up and to the right or even. Our most recent visit was over a weekend. We went on a Friday night to grab a quick bite and a drink in the bar area. It was good, but some of the cocktails seem to have lost some of their creative excellence. The bar is generally less busy than it was in the past, The decor and ambiance are nice, just not humming at 6p. The bartenders are good. Not blow you away beverage talent, but good. We went back on Saturday night with reservations for a table in the dining room. We had the chefs tasting menu for restaurant week with support going to the OKC food bank. Every course had very good flavors. If I had one thing to say about Ludivine, it is that the salt levels for the food are inconsistent. I always want more or less than my food arrives with. This visit was too much salt. Good flavors, just a little too much salt. I am regularly pleased with my meal at Ludivine, but they seem to be losing the fun, kitschy sense of excellence that they had. I get the feeling they are trying hard, but it is coming off as a pretentious style fancy. We miss Andy and some of the extra panache and fun that he brought to the space.

Yelp
Ludivine is serving up an exceptional farm-to-table fine dining experience. Their detailed and elaborate menu offers a variety of locally sourced fish, meat, cheese, wine and so much more! The chefs are extremely talented and the service is phenomenal. Our table started off with the bread basket. If you're low carb (like myself) abandon your diet restrictions because their assortment of rolls, biscuits and corn bread will change your life. My mom makes some killer cornbread... but Ludivine's buttery, crispy, flaky and savory cornbread was life changing. Truly, I don't think anyone's cornbread can top this! The biscuit was delicious and hearty and the roll was perfectly baked! And the butter spread had some sweet notes to it.... I was stuffed and satisfied and the entrees haven't even arrived yet. Let me add, they make all of their bread in-house! I was torn between the vegetarian pasta and a seasonal special they just added to the menu... John Dory. I went with the fish. And boy, what a great decision! This fish was nothing short of amazing! The crispy crunchy sear on the outside, and the soft delicate meat on the inside... whew. All sitting on top of a sweet beet purée, squash, zucchini, daikon, some savory sauce on top and a whole bunch of other delightful goodness! Each bite was better than the next. There are no words to describe how delicious this dish was. It was extremely fresh and tasted like it just came out of the ocean. It's hard to find fresh fish like this in Oklahoma. And the portions were huge and it was worth every penny. Kudos to the chef for crafting such a beautiful dish! I am still dreaming about this John Dory. Our server was absolutely amazing! Dylan (or Dillion?) was amazing! She walked us through the menu and made some excellent recommendations! And the accompanying Pinot Grigio that she suggested and paired with our fish, it was spot on! She took great care of us and I 10/10 recommend you request her when you plan your visit!

Yelp
This is my go-to if I wanted to feel fancy during happy hour. I am in love with the style and creativity of this restaurant. I am sure to find something new to try each time I visit. It's going to be hard to beat Ludivine's charcuterie board anywhere else. Half off during happy hour and it consists of distinct ingredients you won't find at any other. So long salami, hello rabbit liver mouse and cured salmon?! Amazing. The bone marrow is a nice snack as well. Once you're done scooping out the marrow, take a bone marrow luge and elevate your shots! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Unsanitary food handling practices and leadership that makes excuses for bad behavior. This spot has potential but needs new leadership. Cute, retro vibe inside. Very eclectic menu. It all went downhill when they seated us at the "chefs kitchen" aka the bar. There's absolutely nothing of interest to see here. This is arguably one of the worst seats in the house. As we sat "watching" them prepare food, I noticed the expeditor not wearing an apron or gloves. Every other person handling food was wearing both. The expeditor, however, was touching his cell phone then touching food. Touching the freezer door and door handle then putting his bare hands in a jar of something and putting it into someone's dish. Wiping his hands on his jeans and then cutting someone's burger in half with his bare hands. This restaurant considers themselves upscale but this is not at all what you would expect from a restaurant charging $32 for a chicken entree. When we brought all of this to our server's attention, she said she alerted the manager on duty. It was quite some time before she even came over to speak with us and I actually had to flag her down on my way to the restroom to confirm she was in charge. Upon coming over and hearing our concerns, she proceeded to essentially make excuses for the lack of sanity food handling procedures. She blamed everything from lack of available staff to him being new and everything in between. She said they ask their food staff to wash their hands every 15 minutes to be safe. Umm...how about you wash them as often as needed to keep your guests safe from cross contamination? She was very condescending in her tone even while she tried her best to appear like she really cared about our feedback. In full transparency, her apology included two ginger beer drinks, which we didn't drink. And she offered us a free dessert which we turned down because we didn't want to eat anything else out of that kitchen. We did eat our entrees because the expeditor didn't touch them (we watched). They were good so there is potential here if they could get their food handling safety under control. Ultimately she comped our entire meal. I still felt the need to share this here because other people should be aware of how they handle food before deciding to eat here. And because they didn't seem to really take our concerns seriously (as we were leaving the expeditor still wasn't wearing gloves), it feels like the right thing to do to at least warn others.

Yelp
My husband and I came to Ludivine for our 1 year anniversary. We were unaware that the location was a relatively new one & most pictures of the interior on yelp are outdated. It looked a lot more casual inside than we expected from pictures. We were seated at the counter and we were able to see the kitchen and the meals being prepared. Unfortunately we weren't looking for bar seating, but their table seating was very limited so we just stayed put. They were very understaffed that day and we didn't know it at first so we were kind of shocked at the poor service. We waited almost 20 minutes before being spoken to about drinks and starters. We placed our entree order as well when the hostess came and asked us. My husband got an old fashioned and I got the Jewel Theatre Premiere (something like that). The drinks were both great! An old fashioned is my husbands go to, and in his words this one was the best he's ever had! Must try! We ordered the bone marrow as a starter, which was amazing! Such a great quantity, very well seasoned and roasted, and something about Ludivine's chips... great combo! For entrees, my husband ordered the Oklahoma Wagyu Bavette and I ordered the Magret de Canard (duck). The wagyu was amazing! Perfectly cooked on a bed of veggies and a soft, great tasting sweet potato mash. All the flavors complimented each other so well. The Magret De Canard, unfortunately for me, was not that great. The meat was overcooked and tasted too rubbery for me to eat the whole thing. However, there was a piece that was cooked perfectly and it tasted great! If only the whole dish was cookes that way. I felt the asparagus that came with it was good too, but the polenta cake was a bit tough to cut through. My husband was told when he made reservations that a complimentary bottle of champagne was available for us since it was our anniversary. It took multiple inquiries and more than halfway through our meal to finally have it brought out. When the hostess brought it out, we were given the option of the champagne or dessert on the house. We ended up choosing dessert, and got the chocolate torte! We were very happy with our decision. At the end of our meal, the hostess explained why the service was so poor that day and they had good reason. Ludivine gave us our whole meal on the house because of it, and we were very happy with that, especially with all the unexpectedness from the whole experience!

Yelp
We are in from Dallas and were looking for a non ordinary dining experience in OKC last night. Ludivine fit the bill perfectly. Very good food, service and nice vibe. The art deco feel on a cool walkable street is a great setting. Ryan, our server was excellent and friendly and the four course tasting menu excellent from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Well first of all, I have to say the service at Ludivine is very good. Our server was super sweet and patient. We've never eaten there before so she explained to us about the menu and communicate between us and the chef regarding the tasting menu. The service definitely deserves 5 stars. However both my husband and me were not impressed with the food at all. The only thing worth mentioning is the bone marrow. It is beautiful. We ordered a variety of food including bread service, seared foie gras, my husband and I each got the tasting menu which comes with tomato salad, meatball, mushroom risotto, duck breast and bread pudding as dessert. Today is my son's birthday and he wants steak, so we ordered prime ribeye for him. Yes there were a lot of food. But only the bone marrow made us hmmm. The steak was just a you can cook it at home steak. Tbh, I cooked better steak myself. A prime ribeye steak does not need much to bring out the tenderness, the buttery flavor and texture. I don't understand why we end up with a chewy steak. My son did not complain, he is not a picky kid. We tried a slice of that steak. In the end we spend more than $400 dollars there (including tips) and end up with almost nothing worth mentioning. I don't think we will go back there.

Michael T.

Yelp
I think the worst Okc dining experience to date. It wants to be a fancy dining place but it was weak...this is also a few months late, but it has to be said. We had the bone marrow for appetizer which was good. But then we ordered the rabbit and it was fried and raw. I don't know how you mess up fried food. Will not go back again, ever.

Yelp
Dined here with a large party. Service was very poor. They had one server for the entire restaurant. She was extremely forgetful and unaccustomed to dining service. Very unimpressive and forgettable experience. Food was unimaginative, just thrown together in the attempts of creating a delectable dish but without any rhyme or reason. Would not return. There's no ambiance or anything worth an evening to spend here.
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
Customer service has "fallen" off. Server constantly came back with what they had been out of. Could not seem to tell our group at once. This was a business dinner w out of town clients - big miss for myself as the organizer. Food: Pork belly dish was mostly dry, as in the protein. Had to cut into as I've never had to uses a sharp knife on pork belly, lol. Veggies on the dish met the standard. Seems like this restaurant is not what it use to be.

Yelp
Thank you fellow Yelpers for your reviews leading me to this place! This is a gem! The food was hot, fresh, and well rounded. The whiskey collection was also on point for a whiskey lover. Thank you for providing me a wonderful end to my day. I had the rabbit tonight. It was moist and tender. The sides paired perfectly with it and didn't overpower it.

Yelp
We went to the annual Christmas Carol inspired dinner. It was so much fun! I would highly recommend this event. The dishes and drinks really put us in the Christmas spirit. The food was excellent, as always. This restaurant has been a long time favorite of ours. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I stopped at Ludivine for lunch a couple years ago while I was in town based on recommendations from a few local blogs. I sat at the bar and was mesmerized watching the chefs work, particularly one chef who was making pasta by hand. I recall having a delicious steak dish that was cooked perfectly, but I was really there from the creme brulee. It was perhaps the best creme brulee I'd ever had, and honestly, I would return to OKC just to go back here.
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
Today's lunch was excellent. I had the steak frites. The meat was so tender and cooked to my liking. The chimichurri sauce was terrific. I could taste the fresh flavor of the parsley and garlic along with other herbs. And I like that the sauce wasn't too tangy. The fries were tossed with garlic, chili flakes, and truffle oil, and it was to die for. I still had room for dessert, so I got their crème brulee. They make it different here since it is not the classic version. It was like the fall version of a crème brulee, so instead of vanilla, the prominent flavor was cinnamon and other warm spices. The service was okay. Our server could've been more attentive, but the food came out at a decent time, so it was all good.
google avatar

Camryn B.

Yelp
We went for their Valentine's Day menu. The price was super reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. My favorite was the scallops, which were some of the best I've ever had. The steak with the foie gras was a close second. The foie gras itself was hands down the best prepared I've ever had. The only issue was the was our fish was very salty and the seasoning was overbearing for a sable fish.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
First let me say our yelp rating would be higher but the service was abysmal. We ordered our meals at straight up noon and did not leave till 1:36. The waitress freely admitted she was new but even so this was the slowest service we've ever had. We had to ask for tea refills, [then she only brought one tea and left the rest of our party dry for an hour]. One of us dropped a glass and it broke. The broken glass remained on the floor for more than an hour and we had to walk through it as we were leaving. Now the good news. The food was tiriffic. We ordered a Caesar salad with salmon, schnitzel, grilled salmon, and a pasta dish. Everyone agreed this was one of the better meals we've had in quite awhile. All of us wanted to try Ludvine again, and hopefully get improved service the next time.

Yelp
Go here with a date or if you want a chill celeb night ambiance in OKC. Staff were friendly and the food were nicely presented. Our steak was a little salty for my preference but everything was flavorful.

Yelp
We had a sweet little family brunch here not too long ago. Service was good, although it took awhile to get our dishes, and there were only a handful of customers there at the time. They did check everyone's temps at the door and were wearing masks, so we appreciated the measures they were taking. Let's talk food. They were out of a couple of items, like steak and cream cheese. This was a little disappointing, but it happens. We ordered the Wagyu burger, waffles, and a breakfast plate (forget what this was called). The Wagyu Burger usually comes with cream cheese, but since they were out they added another cheese to it and it was fantastic! I highly recommend. There was possibly a raspberry or strawberry jam on it, and it was divine! The waffles...best I've had! They tasted exactly like a funnel cake and who doesn't love funnel cakes? Get their waffles. Their real maple syrup also contributed to the fantastic-ness. The breakfast plate I ordered was just okay. It came with eggs, bacon, biscuit, and a potato cake. The potato cake was very small. In fact I thought this whole dish would be bigger. I will be going back for dinner and try their homemade pasta, and a few other dishes.

Yelp
The Thanksgiving pack was fantastic. It was a great day, with a great meal thanks to you guys.

Yelp
Halibut was cooked well, not overdone and the mash potatoes and broccoli complimented it well. Very first time having bone marrow, too salty for me but others enjoyed it.

Yelp
I came here with a coworker while we were in town for offsite training. He had heard their tasting menu was half off after a certain time (9PM?) so it had to be done. The food here is great, they have fantastic service, ambience and a good drink menu as well. My one complaint is like all other tasting menus there just isn't enough of every bite. But for $60 dollars it really can't be beat. I was full and satisfied without being terribly stuffed. I would typically review what I had but the tasting menu is apparently seasonal so it wouldn't help much to go through each dish. I can saw however I had a grain, a meat, a seafood, and a dessert. Nothing was disappointing so I think it's safe to say you can order anything on the menu that piques your interest without inhibition or reservations. Highly recommend coming here for a nice date given the atmosphere or just for some really great food!

Yelp
Wow. All I can say is wow. We enjoyed the chef's tasting menu. The wine pairings were impeccable. The fresh, interesting, and complex flavors of chef's selection were amazing. We could not have been happier with our server, Jonathan's, service. I can't wait until our next experience at Ludivine. Yum yum!

Yelp
I am from out of state visiting for a wedding. I found this lovely place on google and it was rated well. Such a neat vibe and great decor! Their bar menu is fantastic. I didn't eat, but did love coming and enjoying the bar scene. Great place if you want a drink in town!

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night with a coworker. Split the salad and vegetarian pasta. Salad was very lightly dressed (how I prefer my salads). The pasta is homemade pappardelle noodles and they were delicious! I appreciate how careful the staff is being right now!

Yelp
When Ludivine opened it was the most interesting restaurant in town. Then perhaps it lost its way or else got crowded out by newer rivals. Happy to report it's a survivor with a refreshed vibe. The prix fix menu, changing monthly, is a winner, the atmosphere relaxed and young-ish, cocktails lean towards on-trend botanicals, and it's still easy to get a good reservation. We enjoyed our Saturday date-night at Ludivine immensely.

Yelp
Food was amazing!! Appetizers, cocktails, main courses and my wife and I split a dessert. We chose to sit at the bar to watch the chefs and bartenders in action, but admittedly we were there a little early for lunch and there wasn't for us to watch yet. But that's on us. Interior was decent, covid precautions definitely disrupted the intimate setting of the restaurant. We brought no leftovers home. There weren't any!! It was so good!! Definitely on our list of repeats!

Yelp
Should have went to chilis or something. Off on about everything we had in the 4 course dinner. Won't be open much longer I bet.

Yelp
Everyone needs to come here for weekend brunch. Why do you ask? The food is delicious, service is top notch, their cocktails are amazing, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and it's highly unlikely you'll need to wait to be seated. We showed up without reservations and asked to sit at the chef's bar. Our sever, who also doubled as the host and food runner, told us we can sit anywhere at the counter. We chose to sit at the far left edge of the bar so we can see the entire restaurant and kitchen. They have a big bar counter that you can sit at to watch the chef cook and prepare the food. It was great to see all the cooking that goes in getting the food out to the diners. We had the curry cauliflower bisque to start with and as our entrees, we had the lobster with grits and the everything bagel bread pudding with lox and poached eggs. All were excellent and our favorite was by far the curry cauliflower bisque. Their house cocktails are only $7 and excellent on all accounts. Come to Ludivine to check out their new and improved location!

Yelp
We had dinner there tonight. I have always raved about Ludivine but have only been to the new place once at lunch and it was good. We had a group of 12.... after 30 minutes 5 people in our group left because we hadn't been served drinks. We should have left with them. it took 45 minutes to get some of our drinks (5 more for the rest) and finally order. The food was a huge disappointment. The salad was as one lady put it salty and boring. The main course I ordered was the pork belly. It was inedible. I ate some it because I was trying to be nice and make it not seem so bad. We had people from Houston. We ordered the pot de cream and added our own salt to it to give it flavor. Two people said it was the worst dining experience they have ever had, I tried hard to make everyone happy in the group because I recommended this place. The steak was good. I tried the lady next to me's steak The butter on top was great. The drinks are another story. We had to send one back because it was so bad. I was very disappointed in the $700 meal and will never go back.

Yelp
Avoid. Uninspired. Incompetent staff. We will not return. Marginal experience for high end tab.

Yelp
Light your money on fire, you'll be more satisfied than wasting it here. Of all the OKC "high end" restaurants I've been to this one is the worst. The food is vastly overrated and the prices are absurd. I dislike this place so much when someone mentions it I'm almost thrown back to my regret of seeing that final check. Has all the hallmarks of a high end restaurant with none of the delivery. Of all the restaurants I've reviewed that I won't return to because they don't live up to the billing, this is easily the last place I would return to. Traveling and eating around the country and world really gives you a different perspective on what can be done for your meal, this is how not to do it.

Yelp

Yelp
Update 10.12.19 New location and something has went wrong. I am wondering if there was a chef change when they scurried down the street. Cold biscuits, and this time the wagyu beef that was once delicious was not good at all. Dropped $111 and wished we had went to chick-fil-a. We will not be back. When the name of a restaurant has DIVINE included it better live up to the hype. Ludivine is exquisite. Another great addition to automobile alley. Grab the street car and head on over. The ambience is contemporary, intimate, and comfortable. Warning the menu can be little intimidating as each dish is described in a manner you think what is this? However, with a little sifting through the verbiage there will be a dish for everyone. The farm to table salad with mustard dressing was light and refreshing. The drop biscuits and butter delicious. We opted for the wagyu beef with fried green tomatoes, greens, and potatoes. Every bite was superb. A few members in the party had the potato leek soup and thought it lacked seasoning. Overall, the night was pricey, but exquisite. Grab the girls or your favorite date and give this fresh choice a try.

Yelp
This is a delicious restaurant. Every single dish is a wonderful combination of flavors. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. The tasting menu is worth trying. I'm sad we won't be stopping in OK anymore on our trips, due to the state's fascist laws that turn their citizens against each other.

Yelp
Loved this place! We ordered the $75 five course dinner and bone marrow for our appetizer. Damn... the bone marrow was out of this world good. It came with some toasted bread and was perfectly seasoned with sea salt. I don't think I've had better bone marrow in my life! All the dishes were very tasty and cooked perfectly. The only thing I would suggest would be to add some ingredients to balance some of the dishes. The steak dish had all very mushy ingredients so i think something that had crunch would've been nice. Overall though I was very impressed with the flavors of the food and the service was really great too.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went there on Sunday for our anniversary. It was an event that they offered 6 courses with paired wines from a winery in CA. To participate in this event you should purchase tickets beforehand and online for $120/person before tax. So with tax and tip it was roughly $150/person. The food was good and delicious. My favorite one was the duck. The wines were good. I liked 4 out of 6 wines they offered. The downside was their service. When you are paying $150/person it comes to details. For instance when we got there, there were three couples (including us) waiting be welcomed. Or they used the same wine glass for all wines, which my boyfriend and I expected to change them with each course since they were different wines. Or each time they were taking plates out, they asked us to keep our forks or knives etc. it's true these are details but when you pay that much there are details that get important.

Yelp
5 STARS for drinks and service at the bar. Been here twice for drinks and this is the best HH spot in Midtown. We did try the charcuterie board but it was a little underwhelming because most of the options were lard based. I wish they had some dried fruits/ nuts or spreads. Aside from that this will be our new HH spot before concerts or events in downtown area

Yelp
What a unique place!! I had asked around for good eats during my recent visit to OKC and Ludivine's eclectic food and drink menus soared to the top of my list! Dining solo, I was glad that only the bar was open on the Monday I stopped in. It made for a fun experience! The decor was open and inviting, and the crazy mix of the usual liquors among the off-the-wall additions enticed me to try some superb cocktails. Their seasonal cocktail menu was beyond inspiring as it was an ode to American Chinese food! Creativity abounds! Never have I ever seen cocktails such as Orange Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork! The head bartender was friendly and helped guide me through this once-in-a-lifetime menu. Having a hard time deciding what to get, he decided to first make me the Stockyard Roots, which he explained was listed as the best cocktail in Oklahoma by Food Network! Being a total foodie, I was sold immediately. I do love me a good whiskey cocktail so this was very good! The bar menu is limited, only offering a few options which was perfectly fine with me. The blue plate special was a burger and I loved the $10 price but I had just had a burger the day before! D'OH! That's ok, I wanted to try something new anyway and went with the fish plate which was sole with roasted asparagus and cherry tomatoes and a beautimus carrot puree! I've never had sole before and my bartender described it as a much meatier fish than your typical flaky white halibuts and co. The plate was beautiful but definitely on the small side. I was kind of kicking myself for not going with the burger because I knew I'd still be hungry. But that's alright, I stopped for a snack later on. The dish was very yummy and that carrot puree was perfect! I got the Sweet and Sour Pork cocktail off the specialty menu next. It was such a unique flavor and the bruleed sesame stick garnish thing was a nice touch as well! In addition to the specialty cocktail menu, they also had cheaper cocktails listed by number on the dinner menu so those looked like nice options if you weren't feeling all splurgy like I was at that moment. Ludivine was definitely a nice change of pace from other dining options in OKC and I'm so glad I ended up here for a meal!

Yelp
Always a great experience at Ludivine. Hopped in for the Blue Plate special which was Dee-lish-ussssss! The burgers they have for their Monday specials always taste amazing accompanied by those perfect shoestring fries! Come a little early and enjoy their happy hour as well. Their Blue Plate special is an awesome way to start your week of right!

Yelp
I'm not going to waste too much time on this review as I got better things to do it's Christmas & I gotta bounce. Last nights dinner at Ludivine was not a pleasant one. In fact there was no one dining there except my party & two other tables. We were the last ones to leave. Because of this, the whole staff was sitting at the bar DRINKING waiting for us to LEAVE so they could go home. When we did get up to leave the bartender insulted our friend on the way out the door. When we first got there we ordered drinks in the bar area. The waiter told us to go & sit in the dining room & order bc they were "waiting for us". Then they proceeded to try to force dinner on us quickly. We ordered the charcuterie board & the bone marrow to start. The charcuterie was horrible. The Foie Gras moose was dry, the salmon was strange tasting & the mustard, corn & onions served with it was just odd. Then it was topped with so much bread it was just horrible. It didn't look good, it didn't smell good, it was just horrible. They took it away. The bone marrow was under seasoned & cold. There was only 3 entrees for some reason so we got all three. The pork, the Australian red snapper & the vegan Pappardelle with mushroom & kale pesto that smelled awful. I ask the waiter if the Pappardelle was house made & he said it was. I asked if it was organic & he told me it was "mostly organic" the pasta was cooked nicely, however it was way under-seasoned & barely had any pesto. Not regular pesto, Straw mushroom & kale, no cheese as it was VEGAN. Underwhelming to say the least & it smelled awful. The local pork dish was nicely done. We all enjoyed it. The Australian fish dish was superb. Cooked perfectly & seasoned to perfection. The coffee's were very nice, the house made coffee cake was way too sweet, we didn't even eat it. The bartender coping a attitude with our party bc he wanted us to leave was disgraceful. When we got outside our friend was so upset that the bartender was so disrespectful to him that he vowed to never step foot near this restaurant again. If you don't want people hanging in your restaurant, eating & drinkin late in the night, running up huge tabs, you should not be in the restaurant business period. That is no way to treat your customers especially at Christmas time. I said "Merry Christmas" to the staff on the way out they said Merry Christmas back to me, they were nice to me. It was the bartender that was mean to our friend. Completely disappointed he ruined our Christmas get together dinner. Will never return.

Yelp
Out of curiosity I looked up the meaning of Ludivine. It's a persons name and most likely means "divine light." I do wish this restaurant would live up to its name. Monday - Friday they have Happy Hour from 4-7 in the bar. You can get 1/2 price bone marrow and 1/2 price charcuterie. I adore their bone marrow. Their bone marrow is roasted bones split and and it taste so yum. Some of the I itty-bitty pieces that are affixed to the outside are my favorite pieces. The cheese cauliflower soup is quite good. I'd suggest making it cheesier and less cauliflower-y. I loved the way it was served. The waitress brought out a soup bowl with a lid and voila! Lifted the lid! Great presentation. During my dinner I had a lovely Chardonnay at the suggestion of my waitress, but I was never told what it was do I can't order it again if I wanted to. I was asked if I wanted anything else to drop and I ordered a cup of coffee. I had no clue that I'd get my own French Press and it would cost $12.00! I just ashes for a cup of coffee. Also, I was served milk instead of half and half. At my request, I was given the half and half (actually, I think it was cream and not half and half). Celeste is an amazing waitress. I loved her!! Okay, Zack is not a good waiter. I've had him twice and both times I've gotten substandard service. Tonight he forgot to bring my wine. For the most part I've noticed that his interest in the customer is mediocre and he just ignores people at will. I have had to wait for basic service from him. There are definitely kinks that need to be worked out here, but they can up their game. The food is good enough that they have the ability to improve. But if they don't, I fear that Ludivine will suffer and is light will fade.
