Where to Find the Best Seafood in Nashville

"This steak and seafood spot may be tucked into a corner of a Brentwood strip mall, but the menu keeps locals and visitors alike returning time and again. The raw and grill bar options span fresh oysters and shrimp cocktail (or both in a seafood tower), while the mains form an impressive list of dishes — i.e.blackened redfish, lobster tail, sea scallops, and grilled salmon. A second location recently opened in Franklin’s idyllic Berry Farm’s neighborhood." - Kellie Walton

I absolutely love Ludlow and Prime. I eat there at least twice a week. Their dinners are fabulous and the quality of their meat and seafood is exceptional. Service has been great since day one. Never had a bad experience there. Portions of food are generous. It is my happy place for happy hour.

Poorly ran and unconsidered. Went on the Friday night barley anyone was there…I was excited to be with my family we were having a good time talking until we realized our food was taking over 40 minutes they brought half of our food out and completely forgot our other families entire order. They barely cared and took advantage of our kindness..when we mentioned our unsatisfaction and they gave us a poor excuse with little sympathy or urgency. Very disappointing they were lucky we very patient and nice but I would never go back although the food was good.

Glad we stopped in despite the numerous bad reviews. Staff were attentive and friendly. The cocktails weren't the best, but the food was delicious. The brussel sprout starter was especially crispy and flavorful with bacon. The blackened salmon tasted really fresh in our salads. It can get quiet smoky inside, so keep that in mind. My eyes were burning near the end of our visit.

Google
So, the interior is beautiful, but the food is not good. First of all, it took an hour to eat and the food they served was in the oven an hour I believe. My roasted catfish was black and burnt to the point it was hard. The chicken breast was hard and dry. The jump lump crab cakes was tough like biscuits and dressing only. We had to send the food back and get replacements. When asked about a discount they simply didn't charge me for the first choices. I didnt eat it, of course you shouldn't charge. This was a true disappointment as I was celebrating my sister's birthday. She did not enjoy her birthday meal and I was not going to wait another 30 minutes for dessert. I won't be back. It was too expensive for the quality of food. I don't mind paying for food, but the quality should be worth it. My suggestion: hire new chefs. To present people with these dishes does not speak highly of your craft.

Google
Disappointing Experience – Lacking in Quality and Presentation I had high hopes for Ludlow & Prime, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. While our waitress was friendly and professional, the overall service was horrendous—long waits, lack of attention, and a disorganized atmosphere made the meal frustrating. The biggest disappointment was the food. I ordered a medium steak, and what arrived was practically raw. Not only was it undercooked, but the presentation was lackluster, and the quality just wasn’t there. For a restaurant that prides itself on steaks, this was incredibly disappointing. The sides were equally unimpressive and lacked flavor. For the price and reputation, I expected much better. Sadly, I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

We had a last minute date night opportunity and tried Ludlow & Prime on a whim. What an incredibly pleasant surprise! It's very unassuming, located in the corner of s strip mall. When you walk in, you'll notice the vintage Victorian meets modern Nashville design. We had a nice quiet table and our server, Jesse, was very attentive and gave us great suggestions! Their menu is very New Orleans creole inspired with mostly Steak and Seafood options. We started with the brussel sprouts and crawfish hush puppies, both were excellent. Then we had the St Landry Parish Fire Roasted Catfish and the Blackened Red Snapper. Both dishes were fantastic. When the apps and the entrees are that good, you have to try dessert. The Chocolate Lava Cake did not disappoint! Very casual atmosphere, and the prices were very reasonable, especially with the quality of the food. Ludlow & Prime was a last minute decision that really surprised us. Looking forward to going back soon!

Google
I was looking for a restaurant that could accommodate a group of 20+ for a team dinner without having to make the trek to Nashville, as our team was staying in Berry Farms for a meeting. Rachel went above and beyond in helping us plan the perfect evening, from curating a great menu to reserving a private room that was just right for our group. The entire team had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We will definitely be returning for future large-group gatherings!

Google
We had our first visit today. Frankly, the reviews had kept us away. We had a delightful lunch in the bar area today. I had the gumbo and a wedge salad and they were both outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This restaurant has relocated to Franklin TN. We had a party of six for NYE dinner and had a wonderful time. Some miscommunication in the process of the night which our group didn't let get to us as things happen in life. When I booked our reservation we were not told the restaurant moved. We found that out when we got to the original location. I was also told the regular menu would be used, that they didn't care for a pre fixed menu. Turns out there was one which was fine - great selections and price. Having had to travel close to twenty minutes to the new restaurant I called to let the restaurant know we'd be late for our reservation. The table wasn't ready when we got there. Took about ten minutes. Once we sat down everything went great. Our server was excellent. I wish I could remember her name to give a shout out. We did learn she grew up in TN and always wanted to live in New York and got to live out that experience. She was extremely attentive to our needs and concerned for our meal. She knew the menu and shared what she thought was the better recommendation. The three course meal offered several choices for each course. First course Soup or salad. Second choice entrees came with sides. Of the six options our group ordered either the ribeye or the salmon. Everything was very well prepared. The salmon was excellent. Servings were large enough to go home with leftovers. Dessert had three choices. I asked if the carrot cake was as good as another local restaurant known for its carrot cake and the server said she thought it was. I was skeptical. Turns out she was right, the carrot cake was just as good, maybe better. I'd have to do a side by side taste test to know for sure but I would order it again next time I go there. The regular menu has a lot to choose from which is why I picked this restaurant for our NYE dinner so go out and give this restaurant a try if you haven't been there. I'm sure you will be pleased.

Yelp
If you have a tree nut or peanut allergy do not eat here. There is nothing on the menu regarding allergies and when asked, we were told a dish was nut free ... it wasn't!! We spent the night at the ER and when told, the owner was dismissive and non-apologetic. Infuriating.

Yelp
We wanted to go somewhere nice for lunch near home. It was our first time, their menu looked good. Got there about 1 & there were only 2 other tables there that was finishing up. We noticed they didn't clean some of the tables, maybe they were short staffed. The booth seats were diner seats and torn. My plate was dirty, it still had food residue on it so I had to ask for a new one. Our server was really nice, we were also the only table. We wanted a bit of everything, the lobster roll was just lobster on bread that wasn't toasted. The truffle fries had nothing truffle about it. The rice in the crawfish etouffee wasn't all the way cooked. Scallop dish was the best. But not good enough to go back.

Yelp
***********PERMANENTLY CLOSED************* Went there today 6/21/24. Drove from East Nashville. A 30 minute drive. Checked the website for hours. All seemed well. We got there around 4:30 pm and the location was closed. Permanently closed. Looked like teh place was ransacked. There was a sign on the door saying they were remodeling, but there was nobody there remodeling if you know what i mean. Rude of them not to warn people of his on the website. *********PERMANENTLY CLOSED****************

Yelp
My wife and I had really high expectations when we visited Ludlow & Prime for dinner. We were really disappointed for several reasons. We arrived for our dinner reservation during "Happy Hour." After being seated, my wife asked if she could order a Happy Hour drink and was told no. Apparently, you can only enjoy Happy Hour drinks or food specials if you sit in the bar area. That seems short-sighted. It's the same kitchen and bar staff, so what's the difference? Our waiter immediately told us he'd been working here less than a month. He wasn't very confident, but he was nice and helpful. I was really looking forward to trying their Gumbo. After all, it's on the menu twice, once under soups and once under an intriguing menu spot called "Build Your Own Gumbo Bar." That sounded fun. Unfortunately, they were out of Gumbo at 5:30 pm. The waiter told us they have been out of Gumbo most days he's worked there. There were 3 dinner specials, and all sounded great. We were a bit disappointed that none of the detailed narratives regarding the delicious sounding specials included the price. Sure, we could have asked, but are they trying to hide something from us? My wife ordered the scallops. They were cooked well and were in a delicious sauce. But there were only three of them for almost $40. Definitely not worth it. I ordered the blackened grouper special on risotto with 2 large shrimp. It was flavorful, with a good amount of spice. But the portion was small and it was cold. There were 5 of us at the table, and I didn't want to make a scene by sending it back. It was not worth the price charged. The Parker House rolls were warm, but a bit dry, and no butter was provided. They were supposed to have herbs and butter on them, but only half of them actually did. We wish we had had a better experience here. We aren't planning to return for dinner again.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was okay (group of 13). Ambiance was festive. Noisy. A very nice restaurant but it was difficult to have a conversation.

Yelp
The jumbo shrimp cocktail was FAR from being jumbo. Steer clear of that. The deviled eggs were a delight. My son had a hamburger that was thick, well-dressed and presented nicely. It was cooked as ordered. I had the filet. It was tender and cooked to order. Not a destination restaurant but enjoyable.

Yelp
I feel like this place needs some love. Went here for a work dinner on a week night. It's located in a strip mall, but it's nicer inside than expected. Service was decent, servers were attentive and food came out timely. Appetizers - we had the charcuterie board and deviled eggs. Both were good and as expected. A few got side Caesar salads and mentioned they were very good. Entrees - between the table, we had the cedar plank salmon, the filet, and the burger. The burger was good but the truffle fries tasted more like regular fries. The table RAVED about the filet and salmon. They do have a veal ravioli on the menu that one of our party tried to order, but they were out....truly the only disappointment since everything else was good. Dessert - we split their bread pudding and their key lime pie. I am from FL so was weary about the key lime, but it wasn't bad! Bread pudding was also very good. Drinks - nice selection. Tips - order the old fashioned with a gentlemen's cube, it's not standard. Also the espresso martini was good, but it comes with Bailey's. I prefer it without and they didn't mention that's how they make it. All in all, a nice experience and we all enjoyed our meal! 4/5

Yelp
Really enjoyed happy hour. I would give it 5 star but I haven't has dinner yet. I'll update when I do.

Yelp
For a seemingly luxury restaurant, I think the service & food is pretty average. I've been twice now & it's been consistently mediocre. They have really great happy hour prices that make it worth it, but aside from happy hour I wouldn't recommend this place. I was frustrated because the last time I came, the waiter offered me truffle fries with my burger on the happy hour menu & didn't mention the $3 or $4 up charge. When I mentioned it & told him I wouldn't have gotten them if he had told me, he just sort of stared blankly at me.

Yelp
Went to Franklin location after found Brentwood location under refurbishment. Food is ALWAYS excellent!! Service is outstanding. New location is a bit stretched for parking. I hope they bring Brentwood location back as that is closer to where I work.

Yelp
Service wasn't up to expectations. Took a long time to get our food. Delivered salad and immediately delivered entree while 2 others hadn't received their appetizers. Food was good.
google avatar

Deb B.

Yelp
The restaurant had several large parties and the wait staff and kitchen struggled to keep up. After a long wait, our salads were served with the entree. The lobster roll, which is on the menu as an entree, was tasty but small. It is definitely not enough for dinner unless you order appetizers or several sides. It was a disappointing meal and not worth the price.

Yelp
Last night my party of 11 had dinner at ludlow & Prime. I will say it was not a good experience. The $55 ribeye that my brother and I ordered where cooked to temp but had no sear and looked like a boiled steak. When asked to remake the steak they tried getting him to change his cut to maybe a less expensive cut. My steak was cooked better but was flavorless didn't taste aged at all. Took over an hour to get food on the table and half the table was done eating their meal before the other half received theirs. Not a single person thought their meal was worth the value. *potatoes dry as a desert * chicken also dry *no itemized receipt Also gratuity included on a meal that was unsatisfactory. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Waited over 15 minutes to be served. Finally had to ask for a manager. A waiter came to me and apologized, which I accepted. The thing is: this happens EVERY TIME I COME HERE. The food is decent, they have a great happy hour, but the service is terrible. I keep giving them a chance, hoping things will change. But alas, they have not. Be prepared to ask to be served! I'm curious as to how the new location in Berry Hills Farm will be, given it's a higher-end area. At the end of the day, I will still come for the happy hour, because it's a mile from where I live, but...I come with low expectations. And I just couldn't go without finally posting a review.

G E N.

Yelp
Why is this place still open? Mediocre food, at best. But, don't complain or you will be told that it's just fine. For some time, we are here three times, the first two thinking that perhaps we just were there on a bad night or had a rogue server. Nope! For the love of God, they should sublease this nice looking space to someone who has a clue as to how to run a restaurant.

Angela W.

Yelp
This was my second visit in 2 weeks. First time I sat at the bar and bartender was certainly a novice. Drink was ok. I got the "famous" happy hour burger and it was literally a burger and bun... two weeks later I saw a HUGE improvement. The bartender (Mike) was trained and made a fabulous drink. Tried the HH burger again and it came loaded up. I think they opened too soon but it seems they are getting it together! I live really close so I'm happy things are looking up!

Yelp
I really hate to write this review, but unfortunately I don't have a good experience to share and want to prevent others suffering the same fate. I was looking for a happy hour location with coworkers and was drawn to Ludlow & Prime based on their menu and the fact that they have martinis on happy hour. It was a big mistake. We showed up and the bar area was busy and they seemed understaffed. Understanding the staffing shortages we patiently waited and were seated in the dining room. Service was spotty but we browsed the menu and ordered drinks and appetizers. When my dirty martini showed up in a wine glass and was the color of watered down puke I knew I was in trouble. I literally gagged when I took a drink it was that vile. I had to add a lot of water to it to make it drinkable. Another person had an Old Fashioned that was also subpar and a huge let down. The food was not much better. The deviled eggs were bland and the queso tasted like the canned cheese you get at a sporting event in a plastic tray. The cheese board was also boring and nothing special, but the best item we tried (that's not saying much). We would have gone somewhere else but didn't want to drive so we reluctantly ordered one more round of drinks. I had a glass of wine that I knew and it tasted like it had been open for at least 3 days and was stale. The server threw down another drink on the table in a rush, barely pausing to issue a quick apology. Overall this was a huge waste of a good happy hour that I won't soon live down from my peers.
google avatar

Hallie L.

Yelp
Not worth it! Ate here with my family of 3 and definitely was not worth the amount we paid, well over $100 and we didn't order drinks. My husband's burger was so salty he couldn't finish it. My daughter had pasta with zero flavor and the risotto that came with my grouper special was overcooked and mushy. The grouper itself was good. The server was kind and friendly. The owner/manager also came by before we ordered and was very friendly and hospitable. Overall, I'd say we were disappointed and probably will not be back.

Yelp
If your looking for a larger private dining experience, ludlow and prime is the place to go! Rachel was so helpful with our organization of our birthday dinner! The service was great even for a large party! Food was great. A delightful night
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
I've come here probably five times over the years, as nice restaurants are limited in the area. I'd say it is consistently average. There is always something good and something frustrating. The steak was delicious but the salmon was burnt. The Mac and Cheese was great but the mashed potatoes were cold. The ice in my old fashioned was melted by the time it got to me, but dessert was good. The artichoke dip appetizer was delicious but the server forgot it and it came out with dinner. If service improved and the food was consistent, it would be a three or four star. If you try it out, order immediately and get there early if you want to make it three stars.

Yelp
In a world of waste, I asked for no bun, got a bun and they tossed it. I asked for a "little more water, half glass pls", they filled it up and will toss it. Asked for pickles with my burger, charged $1 and got two pickles slices. Whole jar is $1.50 at Kroger. Come on. HH Wedge salad was great and HH burger was a perfect size. Pls listen to your customers, watch the waste and don't nickel and dime on pickles !! Ambiance and music was awesome.

Yelp
Met up with a friend for happy hour and an early dinner. Only 1 side of the restaurant was open (the bar side). The service was a little slower than I expected, but I gave the server the benefit of doubt. I know places are going through understaffing. I love eating lobster rolls in Boston, so I thought I'd try one here. When I got the food, my Lobster Roll wasn't as warm as I thought it'd be. I also wish the roll was buttered and fried.

Yelp
I would not recommend if you want it to be romantic dinner . You will be sitting on hard old school Chairs and some chairs that are fancier than others ( I wish I took photos because I wanted to switch my chair). I don't understand either . I showed up at 8:30 and we sat at a small table which was wobbly. We ordered a dozen of oysters (very good and fresh ) . Gumbo soup is on the watery side ( it's ok) My scallops was good and boyfriend got steak which was good also . We spent over 400 on our tab. This is more like a bar /club vibe trying to be a high end restaurant. Service was amazing though !!!

Yelp
This place is a dumpster fire, except a dumpster fire would get more attention than my table. The one star is only because the bar made a great cocktail. I'd love to review the food, but I'm an hour into being here and the bread rolls aren't even out yet. We were a party of two celebrating our anniversary, thought this would be a lovely place to go. Nope! If you're not a party of 5+ you're getting neglected. Quotes of the evening..."Has anyone talked to that table (my table)?" Other server, "No I haven't talked to anyone." ...Come talk to me! "If you need me to throw on an apron and help y'all I can." - The table next to ours experiencing the same thing with a different server.

Yelp
This was our first visit to L&P and unfortunately we will NEVER return. Details are as follows... Wait staff - There were 4 of us at our table and we had to ask for basic amenities on numerous occasions. For example, silverware, cocktail napkins, cold glasses (which weren't cold) for bottled beer were not provided until requested. This is basic wait staff stuff. I will give him credit as he credited our bill 1 entree and a round of drinks for the long wait and messed up order (see below). Food service - while the flavor profiles were good (4 star), we waited close to an hour for our food. When the food arrived all 4 dishes were luke warm at best. This tells me our food was ready and waiting from the kitchen and the wait staff did not deliver in a timely fashion. To top it all off, my wife ordered a burger and I ordered the "salmon". When the food arrived we both had burgers. When I inquired about the dish he stated that he thought I said "same" when ordering. Funny that my other three patrons all heard me same salmon. Cleanliness- I found it curious that there is a picture of the bathroom in the picture scroll on Yelp. Now I know why because the bathrooms (men and women) were trashed. C'mon man! I am extremely sympathetic to the current state of getting reliable and dependable wait staff. This however goes well beyond just the wait staff. Numerous strikes and fouls throughout the night confirms to me that I will never return. If this restaurant continues to stay open and operate, I would highly recommend the owners and management revisit their level of service and attention to detail on how they want to be perceived. You've been warned. Eat at your own risk.

Yelp
Went to the restaurant with friends. The service was good but like a lot of establishments, they are short of help. We ordered the crab cake since they had run out of oysters. We also had the Brentwood mules. Both were very good. For meals the group had the filet mignon, the salmon and sea scallops. The scallops were very salty, but the steak and salmon were very good.

Curran A.

Yelp
Great food with a great happy hour too! Service here is top notch and the ambiance is perfect.

Amanda C.

Yelp
Ordered 30A seafood salad for takeout. Over all salad was good but was missing avocado and blue cheese two ingredients that pulled me towards this salad. Would just recommend checking orders togo. Also bar seemed too busy to deal with the three guest sitting there. Probably will skip this place next time.

Maggie G.

Yelp
Filthy. So very disappointed. We were there a couple years ago was totally different. We were there last week for happy hour and found the restaurant to be dirty, dark and dingy. I was very skeptical about eating the oysters. Won't return until the clean it up.

Yelp
My husband and I attempted to dine here for Valentine's Day. I say attempted because after an hour of sitting at our table, our server gave us the option to cancel our order and leave as my husband still had not gotten his drink he had ordered 60 minutes ago and it was going to be another 30-45 minutes before we would get our food. We saw multiple tables walk away on their own. My husband and I were too polite to do so so we do appreciate the server giving us an out. It's sad how chaotic and disorganized the service was. I realize it was Valentine's Day and they were busier than usual, but this was a new low that no one could imagine. Other diners next to us had been sitting 90 minutes without food and they were also given option to leave. What's sad is that my husband and I celebrated our first Valentine's together when we were dating here a few years ago and we got our food in a timely manner despite it being busy for Valentine's Day. When we walked out, we saw a whole group of people in line waiting to be seated. I just laughed because they were in for 60-90 minutes of torture.

Yelp
Food was good. I had the salmon - it was tender and well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were good. Service was poor. Our server was assigned to 2 tables with 10+ people. He did his best to accommodate everyone but it was way too much for him.

Yelp
My wife and I had been thinking of trying Ludlow and Prime for a few months. Finally we broke down and stopped by for what we thought would be a nice lunch. Oddly it was almost 12 noon and we were the only guest there. Not a good sign we thought. They had a lunch menu that was reasonably priced for the area and should have helped draw a crowd. As a matter of fact, as I write this, I can't remember seeing one person come in for a to-go order. Eventually 2 other people came in together to eat. My wife and I are foodies and we love to find a restauant that creates a good meal. We usually can tell right away if the food is fresh, if it's seasoned right, if the ingredients work together, etc.. We analyze a meal as if we cooked it ourselves. We didn't order from the lunch menu - we ordered from the regular menu. It was a little pricey but hey it was Brentwood and we expected a good meal. We hoped. We started with an artichoke dip and the flavor was just off. Like if you went to Costco - bought some artichoke dip - then added a low grade cheese to cover it up. Then wash it down with a watered down tea. Not the best start, but we thought, it had to get better. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Grits (minus the sausage) and I ordered Chicken Parmesean. Two fairly simple dishes for a restaurant but something went wrong between the Chef and our table. Maybe the chef wasn't there at all and someone filled in. In the end the food was terrible. My wife's meal came out with the sausage (NOT GOOD I thought). But she handled it well and went on with her meal removing the sausage as she went. My meal, the Chicken Parmesean, was just plain bad in every way - burnt chicken that was flattened thinner than a cell phone with no batter or sign of parmesan. Then someone decided Blue Cheese sprinkled on top might be tasty - A rank Blue Cheese that got worst with every bite. The chicken was served on top of a spaghetti bed with a tomato sauce that was soured for some reason. We are still trying to figure that one out. Overall the service itself was fair, the ambiance was nice but it's just hard to overlook bad food when you're hungry... so we gave it 1 star and yes the food was that bad.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Seeing some of the Yelp reviews from Valentine's Day dining, I feel like I am piling on, but hopefully they will treat feedback as a "gift." I've truly never seen such a complete dining failure in a restaurant experience. The poor experience began at check in (there was no hostess at the check in for over ten minutes) and took over 35 minutes to be seated for our 8:00 p.m. reservation. During the time we were waiting I witnessed multiple parties, just leaving the restaurant without being acknowledged and multiple more parties leaving after being seated, but not served. It took almost 30 minutes to receive our drink order and then when we received our food order, each of our filets were good and well prepared, but the sides were incorrect and we never received part of our initial order, thankfully we weren't charged for it! And the side I ordered--the wood-fired asparagus, had only five stalks and cost $11.25!! We were very accomodating, patient, and understanding during the meal, but truly the poorest execution I have ever seen. Not blaming the server, the bartenders, kitchen staff, or even the managers--do better Ludlow and Prime...

Drinks are average. Food is even more average. Service was BAD. Took an hour and a half to get our checks straightened and paid. Our group was only 7 people, shouldn't be that hard. Also the restaurant is so smoking and it feels like i'm in a dark alley. Really not worth the money

Yelp
One day I will learn to pay attention to red flags. When you call for a last minute reservation for 4 on a Friday night at 7:15 and can get in immediately, that's a red flag, but we were excited to have a nice meal with friends so away we went. When you walk in and it's hazy and smelly from smoke, that's a red flag, but we were already there so to our table we went. We sat in the bar area at the same table at which I sat close to a year ago and was originally overcharged for a bourbon. I should also pay attention to omens... The service was OK. Clearly a new server who didn't fully know what he was doing. Was dressed sloppily to be serving in what is supposed to be a higher end restaurant, but hey, with the staff shortages we are experiencing I give him props for showing up. 3 of us ordered bourbon (1 rocks and 2 neat) and one ordered wine. The drinks were fine. The shrimp cocktail and gumbo were sub par for a steakhouse in a nice part of town. The seasoning on the shrimp was good but they had the tell-tale rubbery texture of old or previously frozen shrimp. The cocktail sauce was from a can. It was edible and we were hungry so we ate it with no ill effects. The kitchen staff must have been new as well because 2 entrees came out several minutes before the other two. Another red flag that things are janky, but we were invested by that point. The filet was seasoned appropriately, but was overcooked. Not bad though. The redfish was way overcooked and dry. Hard pass on that one. They cut our server loose right after our entrees. That seemed weird, but whatever. The bartender took over. She was attentive enough. So to this point it's a perfectly mediocre meal, if overpriced for the quality. 3 stars. Then the checks came. See the picture below. Not only was I charged a full $20 more than menu price for a Bookers bourbon, but they charged us each an extra $1.50 for "neat" (no ice, for the non-imbibers). Oddly they charged our friend an extra $1.50 for "rocks". Excuse me? Haven't seen that kind if charge sliding anywhere before. When I went to discuss the overcharge issue with the bartender she tried to give me some song and dance about getting heavier pours when you order "neat" (not mentioned on the menu), but she didn't have an explanation for why my friend got charged $1.50 for rocks. She finally did correct the price after it was obvious that she had too, but the process it took to get there was pretty frustrating. The whole thing had the feel of a place that overcharges on certain items and adds hidden fees hoping customers won't notice and then corrects the situation only when confronted about it. Just had a shady feel about it. This is the same thing I experienced on my first visit. I chalked that one up to an honest mistake, but after this visit I'm thinking it may be more systemic. Consider this review YOUR red flag and avoid this spot. There are a dozen better options within a 2 mile radius. I suspect this place is circling the drain, though, so you may not have it as an option too much longer.

Yelp
Been here twice now, once for a bday dinner for my brother and another since the Family wanted some meat on a thursday night before a lenten friday. The first time I came, I ordered a medium rare steak, fries, and a Diskin Cider. The second time, same entree and side but a Bold Rock Cider. Both were perfect! Cooked great and the fries are to die for. Seriously, fries, get them. Great place too! There's a bar section with high top tables, a dining section with booths and regular tables, and even a little patio outside. Recommend.

Yelp
i realize it was Valentines Day but there is no excuse for how long it took for our food to be served. The waiter did not check on us very often and kind of had an attitude. People that got seated after us got their food way before us. The waiter was blaming the kitchen staff after we asked what was taking so long. When we finally did get our food, it was a thrown together afterthought. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and the food was not as good as it had been in the past. The service has been hit or miss in the past but this was the worst by far. We will not be back.

Yelp
Meh. We came here last minute to have dinner after a day of sightseeing. The hostess was nice and efficient and led us through the entry, which had been flooded by an HVAC leak. The food is so so. Not terrible, not great. My MIL hit it on the head when she said that what wasn't salted tasted fine but what was salted was *really* salty. My Manhattan came in a wine glass instead of a martini glass and when I asked about it, I was told, "These are our martini glasses." This tells me that a restaurant is unwilling to invest in proper barware. I understand times are tough but people go out for atmosphere and this did not contribute. One thing that was annoying was a $3 upcharge to substitute fries for mashed potatoes, even though they are the same price on the menu. Unlikely to return.

Yelp
On my first visit to Ludlow and Prime everything was wonderful. We were excited to come back for a second visit on a Friday night after my boyfriend and I both had a long week. We wanted to go somewhere comfortable with good food. We were highly disappointed. Something has happened here and our second visit was not the same as our first a few months ago. The hostess was not at the host stand when we arrived and we had to wait for her to come back up front. Not a big deal but later during dinner we saw her just hanging out in the kitchen chatting and laughing with her coworkers. So then we are seated and we order drinks. The first time we came I had an amazing lemon drop martini. This time, it didn't taste like the first and I didn't even finish it because something wasn't right. We ordered oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer. They were good but on the last one I had there was quite a bit of shell loose and it got into my bite and ruined it. I had to spit it out in my napkin. Not great. For our meals we got the scallops and New York strip. My boyfriend liked the scallops but it says it come with a corn side and bacon and it looked and tasted more like the mixed veggies you get from the frozen section of the grocery store. The scallops were over cooked but my boyfriend actually likes them that way so it was fine. My New York strip was wayyy over cooked. I asked for it to be medium and the only pink I saw was in the very middle section of the steak. Both ends were brown all the way through and were inedible. I only ate half of my steak because of this. I got brussel sprouts as a side and they were good. They had a lot of the outside shells pieces that were scorched and I know a lot of people like that but I like more of the middle pieces that have more substance. It seems like the majority of the dish was mostly flaked off shells pieces and not the heart of the brussel sprout but the flavor was good. Overall we were pretty disappointed in our experience. For the price and location, I'd expect a lot more. Management needs to step in. We won't be back.

Yelp
Thanks to Tim and staff for hosting my wife's joint retirement party today (with 2 other co-workers) and a 30-party group, on one day's notice, after we were dumped from a competitor restaurant (Sperrys) in Cool Springs, even after having confirmed reservations. Tim and Rachel made it happen for us, and hosted the event wonderfully, great, large menu, any questions or alterations we had were answered with a Yes! or a "sure we can do that!" Top shelf customer service, guest care, and wonderful selection of menu choices and delicious food items. My wife and I will become regulars, and plan to return this weekend, to support such a fine family-run local establishment!!

Yelp
Might be the worst "steak house" I've ever been to. Terribly high prices for extremely mediocre food. The ambiance of a Cracker Barrel.

Yelp
The best happy hour!! Love the food and cocktails. And the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. We visit every time we are in town and never disappointed.

Yelp
Tim, Because you walked over to our table and berated me for merely requesting to speak to you after you initially refused to come over... Because when you did, you didn't give me a chance to speak... Because you literally yelled and screamed at me -- calling me and my party a "waste of your time" and that you "were busy"... and then turned and walked away, never allowing me or anyone at our table to speak a single word, because of that I'll speak it all here. As the owner, I doubt that you will read this, but it needs to be said-- at least to allow me to express my profound disappointment in the way you treated me and my guests on December 8, 2022. We made a reservation at your restaurant after a tough day. Our beloved friend received unthinkable news-- the cancer had spread. And it was also her birthday. We tried to salvage what we could of the day and canceled plans at a downtown steakhouse. Ludlow & Prime seemed to fit the bill: close to home and a bit more intimate, in light of our news. We were seated on the bar side of the restaurant and in attendance was my 76-year-old mother, my 16-year-old daughter, and our beloved friends. Our waiter, who was also the bartender, was fantastic. You have a great employee in John. We ordered drinks, a dozen oysters, appetizers, dinner... and Mari ordered a steak, she was looking forward to a good steak all week. We were intent on making a night of it despite the news and John was so attentive and kind -- we were actually succeeding. He apologized three different times about the wait for our food and we weren't bothered. Enjoying one another and celebrating Mari was our main concern. We were plenty hungry when the food did come out. The steak and the mashed potatoes, the most important meal at our table, came to us cold. Our other friend had the scallops which she told John, tasted like Pledge, but she liked pledge, so she would eat it. We all laughed. I so wanted something to be right for Mari though and that's why I asked you to come over. I even told John, that we weren't looking for you to pay for it-- because we were so hungry after waiting for so long that we ate our food...cold steak, cold mashed potatoes and all. I was hoping I could explain all this and perhaps just perhaps-- a special dessert or a special consideration could be made for Mari. You, however, were so stunningly rude and incredibly mean (witnessed by another of your employees) that I truly don't understand how you remain in business treating customers like this. You told me that you saw all our eaten food and we weren't going to get anything for free. We were shocked. And you said this and more with such intensity and fury that your spit flew in my mom's face as you were telling me off for simply requesting your presence at our table. I'm not sure why you arrived at our table so hot, so vile and ugly... spewing all of it without us ever being allowed to speak a single word to you. My husband came to pick us up and he too asked to speak to you. He waited at the bar for about 10 minutes and you refused to speak to him as well-- telling John that you weren't coming out. We all agreed that this was the single worst experience that any of us have had a restaurant in our lives. We had almost salvaged part of the day until you came along. Human beings shouldn't treat other human beings this way.

Yelp
I was on vacation visiting Nashville and went to this restaurant. It is so good ya'll! We got there at 5 pm and enjoyed Happy Hour! A dozen oysters and $5 glass of wine and beers! Our fish dinners were amazing and our friends got steak that they said melted in their mouth. It's a beautiful restaurant and the service was excellent! It was very crowded but our waiter was working his tail off! He was great! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Everything was great. Our server was super wonderful and Lithuanian and told us a touch about her heritage. Everything came out exactly correct and she had great recommendations. The only real bummer for me I would say was the lobster roll. It is served on a cheap hot dog bun, not an actual proper lobster roll bun. It was still tasty but it was really sad when it came out all tiny and no cranny buttery saucy goodness. The oysters were tasty, the soups were awesome, the steaks were beautiful. My favorite item was the truffle fries. I bet the truffle Mac is worth writing home about. Three stars only because the $300 bill was painful and didn't feel worth it. This is more of a $150 for three people kind of place. Worth trying, but shop carefully.

Yelp
This was a poor use of time and money. The service is sub par and the expensive food is frozen, they warm it up in the back. They put frozen rolls on our table, they give absurdly small portions, and you will wait 1-2 hours for your food to arrive once you order it. You have to aggressively flag down the staff to ask for more drinks and place your order. Go to a real steakhouse in Nashville.

Yelp
Service and food were both simply bad. Waiting over 10 minutes for a server, finally had to ask someone to get assistance. Ordered appetizer, which never came. Ordered scallops as an entree, only included 3 scallops, which were rubbery. Ordered masted potatoes as a side - hard to mess up- and they were lumpy and barely warm. Each time when the server was told something was wrong, he muttered a basic "sorry" and went on. Manager never visited the table. Decided to call it quits and went to another restaurant for dessert and after dinner drinks. Too bad given the prices.

Yelp
We were eager to try out this spot while we were in Brentwood. Booked with open table and we were quickly seated near the bar. After 30 minutes our drinks never came, so we left. The place was empty and the staff gave us a cheerful goodbye when we left. One of the weirdest experiences we've had in while.
