We had heard so much about Nola French Quarter in New Orleans and were excited to try it. We even walked about 40 minutes to get there. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
When we arrived, there was construction in the area and many streets were fenced off, making the restaurant difficult to find. We called the restaurant for help, but the person on the phone kept repeating the same street address even after we explained that we were already there and could not locate the entrance.
When we finally found it and went inside, there was one staff member present. He did not greet us. After a while he came over and simply placed the menus on the table without saying anything. No water was offered and he disappeared for about ten minutes.
When he returned to take our order, we asked a few questions about the menu and side dishes. Each question was met with a short “no” or “we do not have that,” with no explanation or effort to help.
We placed our order, but still were not offered water or any basic service. At that point we decided the experience was not worth continuing. We asked a woman at the bar area to cancel our order and we left.
It was disappointing after making the effort to walk so far based on the restaurant’s reputation. Unfortunately, the service we experienced was unwelcoming and inattentive.
