LUGDUNUM Bouchon Lyonnais

"This ‘Little Lyons’ down a Kagurazaka alley entertains guests with the regional cuisine chef Christophe Paucod remembers from his hometown. The famed quenelle is paired with buttered rice in the style of a doria. Homemade sausages are used in miniature hamburgers. The interior, a faithful recreation of Bouchon, a Lyons restaurant, wraps guests in the warm feeling of travelling in France." - Michelin Inspector

Nice meal, reasonable price. Actually very large portions for the course menu, I felt so full I couldn't even finish everything. The food was all quite good, but I don't really think anything in particular stood out to me. The place is tiny and there is very little room been tables. It's also has bad acoustics and very bright lights, but despite that the waiter will complain if you're talking too loudly. My Japanese friend got hushed a couple times. So that's very annoying. A place that looks like that, especially if they want to have an authentic French atmosphere, should be a bit more convivial. Overall, I'd consider going back, but they should really embrace the French bistro feel and encourage customers to laugh a bit.

Great atmosphere, amazing plates that convey authentic French tastes in a beautified manner. The boudin noir is such a lovely presentation !! Fantastic job and the service was great too!

I had made a reservation in advance for a party of 4 but two of the people could not make it because their flight was extremely delayed the day before and they could not make it. But still the restaurant charged us for the other two people. I guess technically they had every right to as it does say on the website cancellations within 24 hours need to pay they full price of the meal but it would have been nice if they were more understanding that it was out of our control. Regardless, the food was good, not excellent as you would expect from a Michelin guide restaurant. The best dish in the lunch set course was the dessert, honestly life changing, and maybe one of the best desserts I have had. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about the food. Not a bad experience overall!

Food was alright. Most dishes were overly salted. Some dishes were very confusing on the flavour profile. Their *famous* cheese sauce with bread, was a huge miss. Garlic overwhelms EVERY single flavour of the dish, such as the herbs, cheese and olive oil. Overall, it is a huge miss for me. Definitely not worth the 1 Michelin star. There are other French restaurant with 0 accolades that can do better. Service was superb. But other than that... nah.

Stellar and amazing food and service. Had lunch today and it did all to impress. The restaurant is small as. Like a lovely French bistro in France. I enjoyed all my courses and we added a carafe of wine and bottled sparkling and still. Water here is a little expensive however for a restaurant average. We started with the white asparagus and the house deli platter. Both were delicious. The soup was an onion soup with crunchy croutons that were so delicious! A simple dish with a modern twist that worked well with the veal stock whirled into it for presentation and flavor. We upcharges for the lobster and ravioli and then ordered the duck. The dishes were magnificent and the presentation was unique. I never knew I was missing fish mousse ravioli until today! The dish was served with lobster tail which was very good. The duck was a perfect medium rare and the reinforced carrots and polenta were a wonderful compliment to the melt in your mouth texture and taste of the duck. The house cheese with herbs and garlic was an all around soft cheese which works for all even those who don’t love cheese. My husband did an add on of two cheeses so he could try the blue. He loved it for its taste and creaminess. Next we had dessert. We tried the house special dessert which was hot chocolate mousse and pistachio ice cream. Then the dessert which had meringue and fruit. All items were pleasing visually and taste. We so enjoyed our lunch and we didn’t hold back ordering exactly what we wanted to try. This was the perfect meal and we will bring friends here for sure. All dishes were worth the price except maybe the asparagus appetizer which was ¥2100 extra. Lobster was ¥3500 upcharge however worth it.

Love everything about our dining experience at this Michelin restaurant. They also catered for my dietary requirement (Dairy Free). Thank you to the chef :) Food was delicious and service from everyone in this restaurant was amazing! Would definitely be back!

From a Cordon Bleu Chef, Bocuse d'Or participant and once France resident but frequent visitor. What a wonderful evening and surprise in Tokyo. A very special evening with dear friends in a convivial environment with great service and amazing food. We were transported to Lyon for a glorious 3 hours. Looking forward to returning one day. Merci beaucoup!

I went there for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant have a very nice atmosphere and you feel like you are in Lyon / France. The service is discreet and precise. The wine list is beautifully done and with lot of research. The food / menu was extremely well done and executed. We can really feel the passion of the Chef for the products and the perfect balance of tastes. Lugdunum Bouchon Lyonnais is one of the best French restaurant in Japan and demonstrate perfectly "L'art de vivre a la Francaise". If you are looking for a 2 to 3 meters space between the table, you should consider to go to a pure fine dining French restaurant. PS: when you go for a 3 Michelin star sushi counter you don't even have space to put your bag; so lets compare what is comparable (this is for the few comments below) This restaurant is a MUST go in Tokyo without any doubt. Bon Appetit !

Yelp
Located in an area that might be called "Little France," due to the nearby location of a French school, LBL was a revelation for me. I ate there twice in the span of three days. Beautifully prepared food at an amazing price for a Michelin starred restaurant. First rate service from a friendly staff. You can't go wrong by following the chef's selected dishes. They also have an amazing selection of Chartreuse with which to finish things off. Really worth seeking out.

Yelp
When in Tokyo, try a Michelin start restaurant! I'm beyond glad we came here for lunch. I picked this place based off some reviews I had seen on yelp and other sites. Their lunch is a fantastic deal. We chose the 3 course lunch (about $30) that included bread, appetizer, entree and dessert. Some items had an up charge. Everything I ate was delicious and had a great presentation. The standout of my meal was the incredible fish special, with a risotto, beet sauce and crispy skin. My husband's best thing (maybe even better than my fish.. if possible) was the chocolate souffle. It was rich and delicious. We were stuffed at the end of the meal and with both of our meals, a glass of wine and the souffle additional cost we only spent around $75. Service was amazing. They had an english speaking waitress who explained the menu to us, gave suggestions and was the person who mostly served us. It was everything you would expect from a restaurant with a Michelin star and more. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and I would return for lunch in a heart beat.

Yelp
What a wonderful meal. From the delectably rich foie gras pate with thick, buttered Brioche toast point, to the delicious escargot appetizer, to the perfectly-cooked lobster, to the blood sausage with potato puree, to the sublime fig tart with a wonderful ice cream for dessert (was it cardamon ice cream? I'm forgetting--but I do recall that it was wonderful.). The service was exceptional, as well. Rarely does a waiter describe food in with such care and attention to detail both when taking the order and when serving.

Yelp
A nice little French restaurant located in a side street in Idaibashi. This is a Michelin Star restaurant. I went for lunch. They offered a 2 course meal for less than $20.00 USD. The first was a nice, fresh salad. The main dish was a fish. Such a delicious restaurant!! English menu available.

Yelp
Exceptional French bistro (Michelin *) with excellent food and service at a reasonable price. We would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent, my wife and I both had the lobster which was fantastic. The service very attentive and cordial, he spoke English very well. Nice reasonable wine list that concentrates on Burgundies. Its a smaller place and the tables are fairly close but manageable. We had a lovely discussion with the Japanese couple sitting next us, they knew we were visitors and went out of their way to be friendly. We had a great evening.

Yelp
Both lunch and dinner were excellent. Especially, lunch at the window side of the 2nd floor on a sunny spring day was the best. Restaurant itself is cozy and casual, but every dish brought me a great joy. Very tasty.

Yelp
Great French restaurant, very reasonable prices. The waiters are about to understand and speak basic English. The food is very tasty and traditional of Lyon food.

Yelp
Excellent French restaurant with a great selection of dishes and a very good wine list. The restaurant has a Michelin star for many years and this speaks for itself. Highly recommended
