Luigi’s Review - Chelsea - London - The Infatuation

"Luigi’s is one of those places that everyone wishes they had near them, at all times. This old school Italian deli is a go-to if you’re in Chelsea, and not looking to pay Chelsea prices. Come and pick up a bresaola and pecorino sandwich alongside one of their many daily salads, or, grab some gnocchi from their huge selection of hot stuff for later." - Jake Missing

Very friendly staff. Patient and kind. There are various choices of salad and pasta. Tastes is amazing. They offer 3 sizes. I went for the small one which is £6 but it is very packed and fulfilling. Perfect for lunch! Will definitely come back again.

BEWARE! I got overcharged £10. Bought 4 items and found out when I got home they charged me for 5 items, with a mystery £10 additional charge on the receipt. Watch these guys carefully, shouldn’t have to double check receipts. Prices are also about 50% higher than nearby Prezzemolo, go there instead. Their prepared foods look amazing, but you shouldn’t have to watch your wallet so carefully. Sadly, not recommended.

A fabulous deli on the Fulham Road. Amazing energy from the staff, so friendly! They helped sort me out the lunch time deal, which is great value for money, and so tasty! I will be back another time to try more pastas/salads :)

This place is amazing, the staff, the product range and the food… if you’re after real Italian fare… do yourself a favour and go here!

They make up prices. Food is great but totally dishonest way of running a business. Eg 4x items on receipt, only bought 3. Mystery £10 charge as someone else said in a review. Shame but difficult to return given this isn’t the first time.

Google
What a find! I went in to see what it's like. The shop was full of proper authentic Italian delicatessen. All looked so delicious! I bought a bottle of good red wine and some slices of fennel salami. We loved the wine and I would love to visit them again!

Google
My favourite place in Fulham where to get authentic Italian products and also leave freshly cooked food. It's like transporting yourself in the heart of Italian deli market. Strongly recommend.

Yelp
I really like Luigi's! I used to spend a lot of time at the nearby Chelsea & Westminster hospital, and would always pop in here to cheer myself up afterwards. I've not tried much but I am a HUGE fan of the Luigi's special salad, which has papaya, mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, mango, avocado and basil. It shouldn't be good, but it's absolutely delicious. I've tried some of the prepared food, and some things have been AMAZING, others just okay, but nothing was bad. They have a huge variety of Italian foodstuffs crammed into the little shop, and the staff are friendly. I'd give it 5 stars if I could afford it...! My tub of salad today, enough for 2 people, was over £10. It's just a once-in-a-while treat these days, but everything here will cause you to have sticker shock when they ring it up. If you're on a budget, tell them. I've said before I want salad but only want to spend £5 - and they sort it out. They do take advantage of the affluent neighbourhood though so be careful. And enjoy your tasty treats!

Yelp
This place hasn't been around for 40 years for no reason. Some of the best Italian food I've eaten. I'm here all the time and have pretty much tried everything. 5/5 all the way!

Yelp
Sorry to bring these reviews to order but the web link is to an mail ordering site? Maybe they provide this ,but surely its the shop that is the focus?

Yelp
I went and asked these dudes if they were italian and they looked at me in a way that only italians can -- ie., as italians wondering why someone would question if they're italian. I think they might have been a bit annoyed with me because they kept calling me a cazzo which according to urbandictionary means they were calling me a prick. I am like best friends with them anyways so whatever. Friends can call each other all sorts of things.

Yelp
This is pretty much the don of London delicatessens. I can safely say that if I was summering in a nearby £10m Boltons mansion, I would come here every day to stock up on fresh Italian produce. As it is, I discovered the place while working in a shop down the road. I got my daily garlicky kicks by buying their budget Bruschetta meal deal - half a toasted ciabatta doused in extra virgin olive and tiny cubes of beef tomatoes, basil and parsley. £2. Amazing. 5 points deducted for their uber-friendly Spanish assistants masquerading as Neapolitans, 10 billion points added for stocking some of the most delicious stuffs known to man. You can't miss it: it's big, red and you can't see in past the piles of fresh pasta, sausages, cheeses, meatballs, ragu, antipasti, limoncello, aged balsamic vinegar and biscotti in the window.

Yelp
Once you step inside Luigi's you feel like you're in a shop in the middle of Italy. Everything and anything you're looking for Italian will be here. The smells in the store are to die for and you'll want to eat everything in sight. They have ready made food you can buy, pastas, sauces, cheeses, olive oils, meats, etc. I'm telling you I didn't want to leave. They also have a vast wine list that has over 1,000 wines. On Saturdays they do wine tastings. Everyone in the store is very friendly and helpful. Will I go back? Definitely!

Yelp
A great neighbourhood gem! They are very friendly. One of the first times I went there I had forgotten I had no cash on me and I walked in unknowingly past closing time. They let me walk out with a package of orzo and pay later in the week. They have won my unwavering loyalty as a result. And the food - The food is amazing! I am not a huge red meat eater, but the meatballs are so rich and flavourful. So is the lobster sauce. Their freshly made salads are great too, I particularly like the one with avocado, mango, papaya, mozzarella balls and tomato. Highly recommended!

Yelp
A recipe I was determined to make recently required all sorts of speciality ingrdients that I wasnt going to find locally (even in tasty food mad Chiswick) so I decided to make the trip to Luigi's after finding them on the internet. It was definitely worth the trip, all the Scamorza Affumicata and Burrata Mozzarella your heart could possibly desire plus breads, vegetables, antipasti and all sorts of rare and wonderful Italian ingredients. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a delivery service! If I were a real Italian living in London rather than a wannabe one, I may have just cried with joy upon entering this store.

Yelp
A small local Italian shop where you can find a great selection of typical italian deli products. The shop is quite small but offers a great selection of products. They even have some freshly prepared sauces, try the bolognese pasta sauce, they won a couple of awards with the sauce and it is really delicious. You can also find a some of the best olive oils in this shop. Another rare find is some traditional, and also great flavoured, Limoncello. The stuff they sell has nothing to do with Limoncello you will find in UK supermarkets. It's soooo much better, but doesn't come cheap.

Yelp
I am leaving this review as i feel i have no choice. I ordered off their website and it was terrible. it is very flash but the level of service was so poor. They are supposed to be Italians but i got a spaniard and a brit......barmy! The meats were off by the time i got them, the prices were horrendus compared to others and when i went into the shop to complain i got told basically tough! They have to be the worst deli i have ever come accross and i would not recommend them at all.

Yelp
Wow. Never go here hungry... You might not make it outside again. I was strolling, peckish, wondering what to make for dinner, and voila (or "Ecco!" or whatever an Italian might exclaim) there was Luigi's. It's a beautiful deli, a little old fashioned with dozens of tempting dishes on display. I could not resist some hand-made, fresh pastaTortolloni, a tub of fresh sauce and a jar of delicious looking sun dried toms. Which was all great - the £21 bill did cause me a double take though. I would go again, but would probably pay a little more attention to the prices!

Yelp
Luigi's delicatessen has good food, but it is very pricey, I sometimes purchased from them, but I can find similar or better items elsewhere at much lower rates, this a grocery shop, it is not a shop selling luxury goods, gone are the days when one could only find good Parma ham or jars of artichokes or whatever in specialist shops, these items are now ordinary foods and should be sold at reasonable prices, the competition is there, unknowingly locals and visitors should not be taken advantage of. This is a local shop.

Yelp
I've been a few times. When I first discovered it I was excited. Independent, authentic Italian place. The lunch boxes are good. I'm vegan and they didn't complain when I asked them to point out which bits from the chiller were ok for me. Turns out there's a lot. Delicious roasted vegetables, pearl barley and almond salad, Caponata Siciliana, broad bean thing .. and probably more. Everything is covered with a healthy glug of delicious olive oil. It makes a great lunch. I been getting a medium box for £5.90. Sometimes they ask you how much you paid last time. I don't really have a problem with that. I accept that they estimate the cost of the different ingredients you've chosen. The selection probably varies in value so the size of container shouldn't dictate the price. I see a few people on Google reviews are outraged that they don't have fixed prices, also a lot of people complain about high prices. I guess it depends what you're buying. I think £5.90 is ok for lunch. So why have I just given them 2 stars? It's for their consistent disdain and unfriendliness towards me. But having said that, I'll probably go back.

Yelp
The food at Luigis is absoluty amazing, lasagne gorgious! Not too bad on price either

Yelp
friendly little shop with friendly southern european staff. it's a grocery store not a restaurant. all of the cheese is great and well kept. the parma ham is the best--they open more sides then any other store in chelsea. prepared food is mixed--some of it is heavy and a bit greasy. they have a great selection of olive oils. very pricey!
