"Luigi’s, located on the corner of 9th Street and West Avenue, offers a menu filled with memorable family recipes. Chicken parmigiana, hand-tossed brick oven pizza, and Luigi’s special bake — a baked spaghetti concoction with traditional gravy, parmigiana cheese, mushrooms, and mozzarella. The meatballs at Luigi’s are a fan favorite as well — you can enjoy them as a side dish or as a starter such as the meatball sliders appetizer, or try them when you order the meatball sandwich with gravy or classic spaghetti and meatballs dish." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

What a great little Italian restaurant in the heart of Ocean City New Jersey. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The food is very good and the service is exceptional! This is a can't miss experience, you can have anything from Pizza to Veal Parm which is what I had and it was very very good. A fairly large menu that you could find something you like on. We came on a busy Saturday and thought we would have a wait but it was only less than 10 minutes and we had a nice table. Give it a try I think you'll like it!

Absolutely AMAZING little authentic restaurant. The Cuisine is delicious and everything is fresh, homemade, and reasonably priced. Very good portions too. Would recommend to anyone in the OCNJ area!

Friendly staff. We kept it simple with a garden salad, traditional spaghetti with tomato gravy and linguini with red clam sauce. The lemon vinaigrette for the house salad was probably the best dressing I've ever had... no joke. The bed is amazing! The clam sauce was loaded with cherrystone clams, fresh tomatoes, herbs and garlic. Delicious! Traditional tomato gravy was decent, not enough sauce at all though. Recommend stopping in!

The food here is amazing. Accompanied by friendly staff, this is a great spot to grab dinner. The portions are big, you get a lot of food with your order so make sure to go hungry! The restaurant itself is small and does not hold many customers. It’s nice and cozy but it can be very noisy.

Google
Great Family Restaurant and always a great meal. Great attention to the tables and customers! Updated my review with our July 19, 2024 summer dinner dishes! OUTSTANDING dinner and service by Matt!

Google
We came here in the off-season and had such a lovely time with practically the whole restaurant to ourselves. Our large group went silent because we were enjoying our food so much!! Service was amazing. Especially was touched by our server making special adjustments to remove something from the soup for me (without me asking) when I was just going to eat around it. Had a great time overall ❤️

Google
First time there. Here's what I have to say. The pries need to be lowered. Overpriced menu and entrees do not include salads which I despise .The owners and managers were nice but not friendly. All business and no smiles. We sat outside and the glass table was never thoroughly cleaned and I skeeved that. The outside eating area was AstroTurf with leaves every where. If that was my restaurant I would have vacuumed those leaves up nice and clean or use a blower. If the outside area was that dirty what's the inside look like meaning the kitchen. I had meatballs. they tasted old and not good. The next two things pushed me to never come back. I had to pay for water. We had to purchase bottled water. I was outraged and paper straws which I hate very disappointed

Google
Our group did not enjoy the food. The bread was strange, the crab pasta did not taste right, and overall wouldn’t recommend. They seem to have issues taking credit cards and do not offer any water which is strange for a restaurant like this. They do have a gluten free option which is nice.

Yelp
First time in OC NJ. I'm a big Italian food lover. I dine out very often. So we arrived at 5 pm as they opened there were 9 of us. The host older lady had a miserable look on her face. Was not friendly at all it was like we were bothering her. So another lady took us to our seat . The waitress we had was very pleasant and did a great job . Everyone enjoyed their meals . I ordered the pasta with meat sauce. The portion was huge. I wanted angel hair which they don't have . I believe they are a little over priced for pasta but not too familiar with NJ . Over all food and service was good . The Ambiance was nice maybe could use some back ground music.

Yelp
Really outstanding Italian food. We were anticipating more of a pizza shop, which it does and does well, but the pasta is homemade, fresh and the traditional Italian dishes, like the chicken Milanese, are absolutely delicious. We came back a second time and got the pappardelle, and it was so good we dove in without a pic!

Yelp
A perfectly nice Italian spot in Ocean City with nice servers and cute decor. It has come a long way since I started coming here 20 years ago (it is now under new ownership). It used to be a very basic pizza joint, but now has the vibes of a nice date spot. The best thing about this place is that the seafood is so fresh! But know that means you will be paying a premium. My mom got the lobster ravioli special and it was TO DIE FOR! Everything else was fine but didn't blow our socks off. Overall, this is a place that is worth going to, especially considering the limited quality dinner options on the island.

Alex T.

Yelp
Excellent dinner. Pepperoni pizza and two meatball parm sandwiches. Meatballs are huge and good. Rolls were fresh and complemented the meatballs. Pizza crust was top 2 or 3 in ocean city. Noel was friendly and awesome and would recommend her as your server. Diner tip: re hear meatballs and put on leftovers pizza slices. Yum!

Yelp
We got take out and we were impressed with all the dishes. The salads were fresh and tasty. The pasta dishes were delicious. We were impressed by the high quality of the ingredients and cooking. Hope they say around another 66 years!

Yelp
40 years ago this place was the bomb. Lately I've been half liking it and half not. Traditional Italian cuisine in a casual ambiance. Friendly and attentive waitresses! But it's the little things ... ordered Cesar salad to share with my hubby, only one plate came out so we asked for a second plate, we have to divide it ourselves. This is what happens when different people deliver your food than those who took the order. Croutons were oily, deep fried? You can't get tap water here, they only serve bottles of any drink so you pay no matter what. That drives up the price of your overall meal and waitress drops off the bottles with a glass of ice. Self serve. Pre-meal bread was great. Lasagna was very good! Gluten free penne was done to perfection however too much sauce on top, it was swimming. Our biggest issue was the spicy meatball that was explained as not very spicy ... yet it was indeed HOT! Red pepper flakes mixed in the meat. Hot is not "spicy" - two different things. My mouth was burning. Couldn't eat the meatball. We ordered two of them and neither of us could eat/enjoy them. Usually when that happens a waitress will comp at least one of the items, but not so. $30 in two meatballs no one ate. Overall, we weren't too pleased with this visit. Will try another Italian restaurant next time. ‍

Yelp
We have dined here twice during the MS bike ride. Both experiences were exceptional, from the fresh and delicious food to the beautiful outdoor seating and friendly staff. This family owned restaurant is a must stop! True authentic experience. High recommend the eggplant parm and the pesto chicken. Pizza was also incredible!

Yelp
Gave this place a try during a recent visit to Ocean City NJ. Our first visit we found the place closed on Sunday, that was interesting. So we tried again during the week. The reason you go out is to have a great meal. I'm not sure of the chef was better back in the day, but I felt I could make the same meal at home. My recommendation is to skip this place and have pasta on the boardwalk. I saw people eating pizza here and though they should be over at Manco & Manco (the best). Wish I could be more positive but my wife and I were disappointed and felt the prices were a bit crazy too. Two pasta dishes and 1 ice tea were $71, plus a cash only tip of $15. They got us good, but not next time! Leave this place for the tourists or venture over to Somers Point!

Karen F.

Yelp
I haven't been to Luigi's in years, and WOW what a pleasant surprise! The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent but I was super impressed at the food. The brick oven pizza, great and the minestrone soup was so good. I ordered the pappardelle pasta in a rosa Alfredo sauce, absolutely delicious and a large portion. We also ordered shrimp Fra diavolo, the shrimp were large and butterflied, also very tasty. It was girls weekend in OC so they gave us each a cannoli for dessert. The menu offers sandwiches, kids meals, pizza and entrees. The staff were pleasant and the owner stopped at most tables to check on things. We will certainly be back. Very happy with our dinner choice!

Alessia D.

Yelp
Food was horrible. Not real Italian food. Please save your money and don't go. Never had worse linguine with clams in my life. Service was great though, just don't know how to make Italian food! And can u believe u have to pay for water! Ridiculous!

Robert Z.

Yelp
Very good and reasonable. We went here after being turned away from another place, and so glad we did. Service was great too. Place was packed but we still got seating with out a wait. I can highly recommend!

Edward G.

Yelp
Great Italian spot on the island! Highly recommend. Got the spaghetti and meatballs and they were delicious. They do take cards of check is over $30.

Danielle C.

Yelp
The food was good but the service was not. We felt harassed and it was obvious that the staff wanted us to leave. Multiple times (over 17) many different staff members asked to take our plates while we were still actively eating. We politely repeated no until I stopped answering because it was rude and frustrating. I have never had anyone treat me that way before at an establishment. This was just a small group of teachers enjoying a day at the beach and the food was not good enough to put up with the harassment we experienced in their establishment.

Yelp
3.5 Ever drive by a place year after year and say we need to try it next time. Well after coming to ocean city for over a dozen years we finally stopped and had dinner at Luigi's. COVID Staff were wearing masks, indoor dining table seating were a good distant apart and tables/seats were wiped down between guests. I started my meal with the small antipasto which was much larger then I thought it would be. I order antipasto often and each place makes it slightly different. Some place different meats and cheeses over a bed of lettuce usually with tomatoes and peppers other places like here have each item spread out. I'm a fan of both. The meat and cheese were good quality the cauliflower was pickled and spicy from the hot pepper. The bread was crunchy and well seasoned. I took half home for lunch the next day. My veal parmigiana was slight disappointing. The veal itself was not the quality I was expected. It appeared to be ground veal instead of thinly sliced pieces. The sauce itself was good but on the plain side. My husband got the baked rigatoni which was steaming hot from the first to the last bite. The sauce was much more flavorful and had just the right about of cheese. The hot sausage although I didn't try myself he reported it was delicious. I would go back to try the pizza because it looked amazing and the meatballs were huge.

Ashleigh C.

Yelp
Hostess was incredibly rude, pasta is not fresh everything is imported. Quality Italian food is fresh, not snipped out of a plastic package.

Lori B.

Yelp
If you're looking for that Italian restaurant that feels like home, here is your place. The servers are awesome and the ambiance is lovely. Food is pretty good, and desserts are delicious!

Bert B.

Yelp
Recommend the lobster ravioli and especially the bruschetta. We all had great meals, did not take reservations but we went early enough to get in with little wait. They have limited parking but for Ocean City, more than most restaurants. Service is incredible, quick, efficient and friendly.

Erik L.

Yelp
We were looking for a spot last minute to grab dinner with parents after a long day on the boardwalk, everything was extremely busy. We called Luigi's and they were able to fit us in. The service and food were excellent. The meatballs were literally Bangin! Seemed family owned and we all went home full and happy!

Monika C.

Yelp
As a family we love to eat and this family own Italian restaurant did not disappoint one bit. This was my dish, since I couldn't eat regular pasta they were able to substitute it with spiral squash and zucchini for me. I was the happiest camper! We also ordered so many more dish for the table but I didn't get the picture fast enough . If you're thinking about going here, just go! You won't be disappointed! Thanks Guys for great food and service!

Dan M.

Yelp
Where do I start? I took my family there because it was my granddaughter's birthday and the food was absolutely delicious! We all got very nice portions. The staff were all super friendly and made you feel welcomed. I could go on how I loved everything from the bread to the end but I will just say that I Highly Recommend this place. Enjoy!!!

Jeff K.

Yelp
Took 4 dinners out on a rainy night. Wanted to try this place for a couple years and finally did. Ordered veal parmigiana, was told they were out, 5:40 pm, should have been a sign. First the good, 2 attending people there were very nice. Shrimp on Alfredo pappardelle were nice size. The end. Pasta bolognese is a meat sauce, not here. Chicken fra diavolo, SMALL amount of perdue short cuts chicken with barely a trace of anything else. Literally inedible. Eggplant parmigiana, another inedible, overcooked mess. Pappardelle alfredo.........

Beth C.

Yelp
Wow! First time eating here under this management that took over some years ago. It was absolutely delicious. Finally there is a good dinner spot on the island that isn't just a tourist trap. Everyone was friendly, the service by Angie was just the right pace. Definitely get the treated the family vibe here. We started with the rocket pizza (arugula, prosciutto and cheese white pizza) the crust was BOMB. I'd go back just for pizza. We had the seafood diavolo over linguine and pappardelle Alfredo with shrimp. Portions were perfect and they did not skimp on seafood. Somehow we had room for cannoli at the end and just like everything else was great. Cannot recommend highly enough. Do yourself a favor and come eat here.

Cat M.

Yelp
Exceptional Italian food. We enjoyed everything we ordered and even had leftovers for the next day. Our server McKayla was knowledgeable of the menu and made our dining experience flow smoothly.

Jasbir S.

Yelp
We have a large group and have eaten here for few years. The service is wonderful but I can't say same thing about their food. The meatball that came with our salad was half the size it was last year so they have reduced the size. My chicken cacciatore dish was not good at all and I did not finish it. The chicken had the old meat smell and pasta was way over cooked with watery sauce. It almost felt like my dish was microwaved. Some of the other dishes we had were okay. I think quality of food has gone down or something has changed.

Chrissy C.

Yelp
Used to be really enjoyable we went there a couple times during the pandemic and we sat outside love supporting small businesses now they are getting super greedy and the quality of the food has gone down and the Waitress was extremely rude every time we go there since we don't like soda my husband and I always drink water with lemon conveniently this time we were told that they only sell sparkling water in a bottle which doesn't make sense because they were serving fountain soda and all the prices went up in the portions went down super greedy I wouldn't recommend them to anybody

Jane D.

Yelp
great food and great service. came at 8pm and didn't have to wait at all. loved my spinach ravioli !!

Gennaro G.

Yelp
My family went for dinner and we loved the fried mozzarella and the chicken parm. Also the sauce was excellent. The service was friendly, helpful, and great. We would definitely go back for another dinner.

Linda B.

Yelp
LONG time customers. won't be anymore. After 30 some years of excellent food and service, we were totally disappointed this time. Heartbreaking to experience the decline of an all time favorite.

Wes N.

Yelp
A nice spot in Ocean City. Walkable from the boardwalk. The restaurant space is small but they do have some outdoor dining. The staff was great and service was pretty quick. We started with the caprese crostini and the broccoli rabe, both were good, the latter not quite as good as the other. I had the meatball salad which was excellent. Someone I was with had the spiral squash pomodoro with lobster, he really did not like the lobster they used. I'd say things are a bit overpriced here but consistent with the inflation in the area. Worth a visit if you're looking for an escape from the boardwalk food.

Bonnie M.

Yelp
Everything about my visit was amazing today. We arrived early and sat outside for a bit. The staff kindly let us in a few minutes early and started dinner service. We shared a salad with a sautéed meatball-it sounded interesting and was good. I ordered the rosa pappardelle with crab and my friend ordered it with lobster. We were both impressed with the rosa sauce-creamy and smooth-as well as the amount of seafood in our servings. Service was extremely friendly and fast. I highly recommend this restaurant for a quality Italian meal!

Valerie S.

Yelp
Staff was really nice and helpful. We've waited 20min to be seated which is not bad of a wait and we were served with some bread and oil right after sitting down. We ordered Burrata for starter - good taste. For main course we had Linguini with mussels, one time red sauce and one time white sauce - red was definitely the better choice but it was a little watery, white tasted a bit like a sauce with almonds (no Italian style at all). And for our son we had cheese ravioli which came with a tomato sauce. Noodles were fresh and good taste.

Holly O.

Yelp
Food is good. Staff is friendly. Why only three stars? You are greeted at the door with a sign that instructs you to only send in ONE member of your party to sign in. Once you get in, there is a sign on every table telling you they only accept cash tips. To me, a whole lot of negativity right off the bat. I ordered diet cola and they said they only had Boylan cola. It was terrible. I ordered a salad with ranch dressing and got a packet of Hidden Valley ranch instead of a homemade dressing. Two pasta dishes and one salad. $71.00. From now on .. over to Somers Point where we can get two décent meals and a couple glasses of wine for the same price.

Eileen D.

Yelp
On Our vacation this year we decided to try eating at Luigi's. SORRY to say, the food not so great and will not recommend this restaurant/pizza. Food very expensive, 4 adults and 2 children = 200++. Never go there again !!!!! No more to say !

Caroline G.

Yelp
went with my friends family and while we were waiting we read some reviews. very mixed reviews so we were unsure what was going to go down. from my personal experience, i had a good dinner. this sandwich had good flavor there was really nothing to complain about. however my friends father was not very satisfied with his meal. he said the meat balls were very bland. i didn't eat any of the meat balls so i have no opinion. overall it was good i'd go back for this sandwich but im too scared to try anything else.

Jeanie D.

Yelp
We sat outside on picnic table it was a beautiful night. Given the location the price was a little expensive in my opinion for pasta. The vegetable lasagna was made with pappardelle and did not have an abundance of vegetables. Spaghetti was cooked then a spoonful of sauce was placed on top. My husband said the chicken parm was good

Dennis S.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst Pizzas I ever got. Maybe I should have tried the pastas but the pizza was literally bread topped with leaves and some lunch meat on top. The service was nice but the food was very subpar

Christa R.

Yelp
A well done, classic Italian spot. They have done well converting their parking lot into a patio that feels welcoming. We started with the caprese salad which was done perfectly. Split the Rocket Pizza with arugula and prosciutto and then the spaghetti + meatballs and were very pleased. Definitely quality ingredients. You can tell this is a family place. I will be back!

Matt M.

Yelp
Great place. We came here with my wife son and in laws this past week. They have dedicated parking and outside dining. I got the Luigis special bake. It was very good. My wife got the shrimp Alfredo and the shrimp were huge. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Julie H.

Yelp
Great Italian meal, lobster ravioli was amazing. Cannoli delicious for dessert. Service great, lots of cooperation between servers. We will be back.

Julie M.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. Very accommodating for a large party of 13 including 7 kids. Also good working with dietary restrictions such as gluten fre and vegan. Definitely looking forward to going back on our next trip to Ocean City.

Joe Q.

Yelp
Great food and prices, as always, from this family run restaurant. I eat here every year when we visit Ocean City.

Savannah C.

Yelp
Great food! The pasta was amazing, and we learned that it's freshly imported from Italy. Everything was so fresh. A bit loud inside the restaurant but it's all worth it :)

Alberta P.

Yelp
Delicious. Reminded me of Sunday dinner at my Mom's house. A little noisy but smiles all around from wait staff. Really enjoyed it.

Eden A.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend were walking around downtown and discovered this restaurant and we got a pizza with a plate of spaghetti, it was delicious the only complaint is that our food took forever to get to us.

Doug C.

Yelp
After 10 years and new owners 4 of us minus kids decided to give it a try. Spaghetti with meatballs, Chicken Parmigiana with linguine and Muscles in white sauce for our entrees. Muscles were rated VG. Other entrees bland to almost tasteless. Pastas and grab (red sauce) were lukewarm as were the meatballs and chicken parmigiana. I thought Italian food was supposed to be bursting with flavor. Not these meals. Seemed more like institutional frozen and purchased, quick thaw and serve A plus.. wait staff were friendly and attentive....maybe in another 10 year??

Rachael A.

Yelp
Luigi's Italian restaurant is a great Italian restaurant find in Ocean City. We drove past the restaurant as we were crossing over the bridge into town. We were shocked as there was no wait since the restaurant is rather small. I chose homemade cheese raviolis. The raviolis were large and I had plenty for a dinner portion. Their sauce is sweet and thin. I highly suggest this restaurant to anyone who loves homemade Italian food. They had great service, staff and food. I will definitely be back to try their baked manicotti.

Kerry A.

Yelp
We just ordered & the food was terrible. One of the meals was veal parm. Unless you want a veal hamburger then I'd highly recommend not ordering this. We called & told the owner about our experience & he was swearing at my mother. The only decent thing about any meal was the store bought spaghetti, that's tough to mess up. Order from one of the other Italian restaurants & learn from our mistake.

Peter A.

Yelp
Nice looking restaurant, they even grow their own basil in the window boxes outside which adds a nice Italian touch. I would say they are heavy on the rules, I showed up at 8 PM, they closed at 9 PM and told me they could not seat me. I did see a couple of families waiting but do you really turn business away in this economy? Nevertheless i returned 2days later. I had the clams in white sauce over linguine. Very heavy on the basil and parsley. The sauce was nice but a little too much oil. My wife got the papadelli bolognese. This consisted of tomato sauce and hamburger. It was not an Italian Bolognese which would typically start with a base of carrots and celery in the sauce. The hamburger was lumpy and tasteless. The Barata appetizer was very nice. The barata was very small for the amount of Cristini they give you. Nice place for an ocean community where my expectations are low. Also they do not have any Pepsi or Coke products it appears they are selling a local bottler.

Alex M.

Yelp
We have been visiting OC for years and have never been here. Today we decided to try something new and it was AMAZING. The chicken park was to die for and the sauce, wow. The gluten free options were amazing as well and so inclusive. If I could have this dish every night, I would! We will definitely return every year from now on!
