Incredible staff and pizza! From the phone call to being seated, the staff members had the best energy. Very friendly people. The environment is very chill and laid back. Dim, comfortable lighting, music playing at just the right level, clean and comfy booths with the option of tables as well. The wait wasn’t long at all. To be honest I was expecting a long wait because we ordered 3 pizzas. But it only took about 15 minutes for our first pizza to come out. I’m about another 5 minutes we had all three pizzas. Wow! First thing that caught our attention was the size! You definitely get more than what you pay for! Absolutely delicious! The sauce had just the right amount of sweetness. I love their crust and dough. Even the dough had a very satisfying, savory bite to it. We ordered a large pizza to go. I have never seen such a big pizza!! When we got home and plated it, one slice covered a 9 inch dinner plate! Absolutely huge!! Only for $21 too. Definitely recommend Luigi’s. Great family environment with amazing food. Also have the option to dine outside! Super nice for summer time.

The pizza is SOOOOO good. We have tried a decent portion of the menu and the meatballs and other appetizers have all been incredible. The wings are always cooked to perfection. We like to order our pizza well done because that's what we prefer and they always accommodate for us. The white pizza is a must try, usually white pizzas are dry and boring and theirs is smothered in delicious onions, we like to add pepperoni to it on occasion. It's a favorite in our house! The sizes are absolutely insane you honestly won't believe how big the pizzas are until you try to fit the box in your fridge, don't even try because it's not happening.

This place is a scam! This pizza was handled with less care than an unloved child. I would not even feed this to a stray dog let alone consume it myself. They also managed to burn not only the chicken parm but also the bread... Good job"kyle". I figured being open for only 4 hours would mean its quality food but it turns out its just poor work ethic. I would leave 0 stars but it will not allow that. This place is a scam avoid it at all costs

You HAVE to try the fried mozzarella 10/10. My girlfriend had the Caeser salad with anchovies. She said 10/10, although it was a little over dressed. She loved the croutons though. The meatballs were really firm and a bit dry, and I wasn't really a fan of the seasoning, it was almost smokey. 6/10 for me, she said 8/10. The pizza I thought was above average, I called it an 8. She called it a 6. She wished it was a little crispier for the cup and char pepperoni's. We both agreed the crust was great though. The service was kind of mixed. The food was ready fast and hot/fresh, there were just some little things that made it less than perfect, but ultimately everyone was super polite and nice, and I'd like to think the little stuff was just an off day kind of thing. Overall I'd definitely go back and again, you HAVE to try the fried mozzarella.

Gosh, I absolutely love Luigi's. Luigi's is where it's at for me! And that's saying something because there are at least a half dozen options within a mile radius. I eat all Luigi's all the time... too much. I'm pregnant and I live nearby and a small cheese is only $11 and a small margherita is only $13, plus there's slices for lunch. So, I am basically growing this baby off of Luigi's, my doctor isn't thrilled about it, but momma and baby are so happy with our pizza! I highly recommend. Take it from an 8 month pregnant woman who has no room for mediocre meals that Luigi's pizza is soooooo good! The crust is thin and crispy and quality is high and prices are reasonable! I also love their ice tea, which is fresh and unsweetened. P.s. my partner loves their beer selection (just wish they added OPI from loaded question brewery next door). They have a happy hour from 3-6 half off starters (get that fried fresh mozzarella folks! ) and peroni beers and prosecco.

Wow what great pizza. We saw the restaurant on TV and decided to go and we were not disappointed. We had a fairly large party and everyone loved it. We had a Margarita, Pepperoni, and a Cheese pizza and they all rocked! The little pepperoni made for a fantastic flavor experience!

Found this place one day and fell in love with it. The mozzarella is fresh, the pizza is so good. The Mocktail tasted amazing

This pizza changed my life. I strongly recommend you look at the pictures I've included before reading this review. Here we are, January 1, 2023, and we're already grinding at work. The crappy stuff, too, like filing bills and creating new personalities to suppress paper-cut experiences. Terrible stuff. I don't need any BS right now. No more talking, just looking for a pizza. Maybe a decent salad. I call the order in, and these MF's bring me TOO MUCH PIZZA. What would you do? Seriously. Ask yourself. Too effing much pizza. The extra sauce in a paper cut was just enough extra sting to have a little tinkle slip. Nature knows. Don't get me wrong. The pizza was delicious. Indeed, I'm a TRUE pizza review guy, and the pizza was an 8.267, where Boston's Santarpios and Regina's hover in the same standard deviation. The goddam delivery guy was about 40 minutes too early, too. I mean, the pizza might have been delicious, the salad might have reminded me of a spring day frolicking with my love, and the delivery dude might've been eleven standard deviations too early, but...Dude, seriously. Too much pizza? YOU PEOPLE SHOULD BE IN JAIL. Well, that was my first response. One yells "Ow" when one stubs one's toe. What would you do? Is too much, too early, hot and delicious pro-level Propperoni and Green Olive [you hearing me, Son?] [Cuz I said "green olive," and only wizards cast green olives on pizza] a problem? Well, being a considerate and reasonable consumer, I dialed up the Better Business Bureau. I've got the BBB set up in speed dial because everything sucks these days, amirite!? Heck, you're probably a jerk. YOU. (watchit jerky). Anyways, I dial up Judy - we're tight, like Christmas-cardy, namsayin' - and after seventeen minutes of analysis, neither Judy nor I can find a suitable Complaint Category, like "Iron Too Hot, ergo, Burned Lips," and/or "Pet Doesn't Love Me, ergo, Turds on My Pillow." It struck me. It struck us. It struck us, and we cried: One cannot have too much pizza. We cried together, and, Lordy be, I can't tell you how we cried. It was a shocking epiphany, like when the new bidet fired a super-heated steam jet on it's first official, non-sea-trial, use. (There is a Complaint Category for that.) Anyway, I the Judster and I realized that maybe we were a little too wound up in 2022...and 2021...aandanyway...It was an earth-shattering moment in my life, and the Luigi's West End Pizza caused it. I'd use a "Grinch's heart grew three sizes that day" analogy, but it's my dirt shooter that was too tight, and no one wants to think in exquisite pinkish detail about my dirt shooter getting bigger, especially when you're probably hungry, looking to order food, and the mayonnaise suit hasn't finalized. So we'll skip it. Next thing you know, these maniacs will put white anchovies on the menu, and/or fix all horrific life glitches, like lost effing insurance payments and/or Stizzi from the IRS basement leaving blank Post-It notes on your bathroom mirror, for all of us. Judy and I both feel this is an omen, and she's a Capricorn. 2023 is going to be great. It's going to be great for you and great for me. I truly hope, from the bottom of my heart, that you buy a pizza from these fireball pizza surgeons. I also hope you have a brilliant, brilliant 2023.

I've wanted to try Luigi's for some time now and glad I did. I enjoy a good thin crust New York style pizza, and while this is good, I don't know if I would say it is on par with true NY pizza. Having grown up in NY, I've had my fair share of NY pies. To be fair, when I order pizza for the first time someplace I always order plain cheese, no fancy toppings, and a large pie. I broke my rule and ordered a small pie here, and perhaps that is what is keeping me from giving 5 stars. While the sauce and cheese were tasty, I didn't feel the crust lived up to what I was craving in a NY style pizza. There was no flop at all, instead it was kind of like rigid cardboard. Again, I've found that everything can be off when ordering a small pie. It seems the smaller size triangles don't make for the best taste, at least for me. I will have to return and try a large pie and update this review. We also ordered the meatball appetizer, and these were just OK. They do offer beer, wine and some canned cocktails which was a nice surprise. Plenty of tables inside and outside. There are no servers, you order at the counter and they bring the food to the table when ready.

I went to Luigi's last night to grab a pizza. Since I have reviewed Luigi's before I will keep this short. If you go there, and you do not order the Margherita pizza with sausage and the cup char pepperoni then you are doing yourself a disservice. As I have stated before, the Margherita pizza is absolutely phenomenal. The ingredients are all top shelf and the staff assembles them and prepares the pizza in a manner that is just extraordinary. Absolutely the best individual pizza in the New Hampshire seacoast area. Last night I got special pepperoni and hot Italian sausage as toppings. Now, this pizza does not need toppings to be outstanding, however, I was certainly not disappointed. In my opinion, the pizzas at Luigi's are optimal when you order the small size pizza. The larger pies just do not seem to get as crispy throughout. I ordered my small pizza well done. The pizza was cooked to perfection and the balance of flavors was spot on. My experiences at Luigi's have been inconsistent since they opened. In the beginning I was completely blown away by not only the quality of the pizzas but the preparation. Everything was outstanding. Then they went through a period of time where I felt the quality of the pizzas dipped. There was a significant amount of inconsistency and overall, something was just missing. However, they seem to have fully addressed those issues. The last few times I have been to Luigi's the pizzas have been executed perfectly. And there is clearly more attention to detail in the preparation and cooking of the pies. Luigis is fully deserving of a five star review and I am very pleased to see that the restaurant is coming out of the Covid restrictions smoothly. Well done to the entire team. I am sorry I did not take any pictures, but the pizza just looked too good to even stop and take time to snap a picture.

Luigi's has great pizza but the sandwiches have sadly gone downhill. They used to have a great semolina bread that was soft and delicious but now, it's dry and crunchy. We had terrible sandwiches there last night and if they had been understanding about it when I told them, I wouldn't need to write a review but because they were very defensive and insisted their sandwiches were always dry and crunchy like that I thought it's worth warning people to stay away from the sandwiches and stick with the pizza.

Having been to Luigi's numerous times before, I would have originally given it 3 stars. However, that is only because I had been in during happy hour where some apps, Peronis beer, and Prosecco are half off. It's certainly a great deal...I just hadn't found anything that I loved. That was until recently when I decided to order a pizza from Luigi's. Luigi's has a vast menu of pizzas to choose from, including some various specialty pizzas. And when it say that they serve New York style pizza, they certainly mean it. The slices are HUGE. My partner and I recently ordered a large Moxy short rib pizza (we were super excited about this specialty pizza!), and it was AMAZING. It was also way too big for us to eat the whole thing, so we were left with a good amount of leftovers. I would say that their pizzas are definitely where Luigi's thrives. I have had their caprese salad, burrata, etc. I have found these side items to be just okay, but the pizza is definitely worth a try!

We really enjoyed the charcoal large cup pepperoni pizza and would strongly recommend Luigi's to others.

Really enjoy the pizza. Sone of the best in the area. Got the cup and char pepperoni and also split a chicken parmigiana. Next time will try meatball parmigiana.

Luigis has likely become my favorite pizza in Portsmouth. It may seem a bit pricy for a large, but you get a massive pie where 1 slice is equal to a typical shop's 2. I always get the pepperoni, but have tried many others including the white pizza and the salami. All are very tasty and enjoyable. Only downside is that I wish they delivered to Kittery when I'm feeling like the ultimate lazy POS who doesn't want to drive across the bridge

Back again, I had the standard mushroom only pizza, very good, better than anywhere near here. Yes I spent have my life spending years in NY eating pizza at Johns of Bleeckers and spent a half time in New Haven. Please let me know who has better pizza, Luigi has the best...

Luigi's Pizza rivals that of Regina's in Boston's North End. By far the best pizza in Portsmouth. It's not even close. Absolute perfection in every way. The 24 inch large with the cup and char pepperoni is absolutely insane. You don't have to request extra sauce, or extra cheese or to have it well done. It comes out perfect with the crust a golden brown and not too hard or not too doughy. They have pizza making down to just right. I absolutely love this pizza. It's the real deal and never disappoints...5 stars all day long.

There's a new kid in town! Other pizza beware. This is great pizza. Perfect crispy crust. Had the meatball pizza and will be back for more. Also had the misto salad which is a unique blend and it works. So glad to have terrific pizza in the west end! Full bar with decent beer selection. Casual atmosphere and friendly service. Happy to be here. Will be happy when I'm back!

A friend of mine and I went to Luigi's and ordered a pizza each. I specified Mozzarella and Parmegan instead of Ricotta. Mine came with Ricotta. I brought it to the counter and asked for it to be done as I ordered. The lady at the counter told me to leave the pizza on the counter. After a time had gone by I asked if my pizza was out of the oven yet. and some rude male can over and told me that my order was correct as made and would not be replaced so I requested my money be refunded and the rude guy refused and even kept the original pizza. Anyone who goes there is just looking to be fleeced. I am disputing the charge against my credit card. I realized that his nose got out of joint because he was the guy who made the screw up and didn't know the first thing about making things right. When I showed him my receipt, he crumbled it up and through it in the trash as proof of his wonderful PR skills

A repurposed pizza spot, in the up and coming West End, Luigis offers elevated flavors coming from the mind of Matt Louis. Go for happy hour. This spot offers a great happy hour menu with discounted apps (all under $12) and drink options! The bar environment is tucked away, but that drew me in! Industrial meets an Italian flare is a relaxing spot to go after work, with a friend all while parking for free!

Ordered a 20 inch Buffalo chicken pizza for takeout. The chicken tasted very off. Like it had been sitting in the refrigerator uncovered for a week +. Very disappointing because I had heard nothing but good things. Might have just caught them on an off day. Still had to throw away an entire pizza and go to the Brat.

Luigi's never disappoints! Great pizza toppings and crust. Always perfectly cooked. IMO, the best pizza Portsmouth has to offer. You won't be disappointed!

As a New Yorker who now calls New Hampshire home, I often struggle finding good food, especially pizza. Luigis has the best pizza around, hands down. Great sauce, good crust, it is a must have. Not quite New York, but as close as there is north of Boston.

Luigi's hit the spot! If you need to satisfy a craving for NY style pizza in the Seacoast, look no further. Tried calling a few times on a busy Friday night but once I got thru service was great. Pepperoni pizza is delicious and sausage are huge and yummy. Caesar salad dressing is good, too, but maybe skip the chicken.

Ordered from here tonight for the first time. A patron at the barber shop I work at recommended it as we were talking about how there's no real authentic NY pizza around here. I'll keep it short. I will never order pizza from anywhere else. Above and beyond and I wish I could give more stars. If you're craving actual pizza, look no further.

I don't write reviews, but this last experience at Luigi's warrants one unfortunately. We used to love this place, but their quality and service is not what it used to be. Recently went in to order for take-out so I could have a beer while I waited. While I sat there waiting for 1 large cheese pizza, a table and another take-out customer came and got their food. When I asked about it, I was told that take-out orders take longer to cook. I literally asked back "you are telling me it takes longer to cook a take-out pizza?" and was told with a straight face "yes". Of course the pizza came out a few minutes later, undercooked and greasy. Mistakes happen in restaurants, I understand and sympathize. But be honest with your customers. My advice is get a table and then ask for the whole thing to go when it gets there, will save you 20 minutes of sitting around. Will be taking a break from Luigi's. For the extra time it takes here you are better off driving to Gigi's.

So I hit this spot up 2 weeks ago for the first time, I become set in my ways about pizza it's weird. But I figured it was the right thing to do try the new joint on the block. Ordered Large Pizza -- Half Cheese. Half Pepperoni simple this way we know what really up. Also we ate inside the restaurant basically by ourselves. Our waitress was amazing she was friendly, welcoming incredibly nice to us which was a shock and very accommodating. We tried to order Root Beer but they where fresh out.. So she talked us in to getting Diet Cokes and solved the problem just like that. boom now the pizza here ya go it's 7.1/10 on the cheese or pepperoni slice. Nice New York Style with doughy crust, leaving the center more crisp well being able to hold together. This Pizza could be a Solid 8 if the sauce had more spice or a kick to it, but that my preference, will absolutely get pizza from here on a regular basis again. IMO best slice in town right now

There pizza is the best in New Hampshire, they use the best products, there pepperoni is awesome, I truly had nowhere to go for pizza that I liked locally until this gem opened up.

We ordered the Bahn Mi pizza and a side of mozzarella sticks. The Bahn Mi pizza was amazing! My boyfriend even dropped a couple slices on the ground but continued to eat them because it was that good! But the mozzarella sticks were... strange... not sure exactly how to describe them. Very rubbery cheese and wayyy to salty. But 5 stars for the pizza! We will be back!

We were excited to try their pizza after seeing the reviews. We got it delivered and were underwhelmed to say the least. Soggy and I'm not even sure it had cheese on it other than parm. Bummer because we had high hopes.

Overpriced - even for Portsmouth. We were seated immediately and our server was prompt. She took our drink and app order, which came out very fast. We ordered the fried mozzarella for our appetizer, which was delicious (if it was warm). Out of the six pieces offered, two of them were still cold in the middle. Then came out entrees, the Cheese pizza and an order of the Cavatelli E Pepe. The pizza was very large, but also very greasy (dripping grease and soaked through the paper-thin crust). The pasta was not a generous portion (for $18), and was overpowered by too much cheese in the sauce. All in all, it's a good location with some variety. However, if you want greasy Mall style pizza just go to the mall and save yourself some money. As far as the cold mozzarella and overpriced pasta dish - that's just the restaurants lack of attention to detail. Will not be returning.

We ordered takeout from Luigi's for the first time getting a white pizza, chicken parm sandwich, and Italian fries. All of it was meh. The fries taste like they were frozen and I think "Italian" just means a small bit of seasoning? They were terrible. The sandwich was fine. Nothing special but the bread was pretty good. Good size too. The pizza was good, well cooked and nice big slices. Not sure we will come back. Good pizza isn't hard to find and the rest of the food was just okay.

Best pizza in Portsmouth. We frequent often and are always impressed. They serve other great food as well, including sandwiches or salads.

We love this place. They have a legitimate Italian sandwich with prosciutto. Tonight we grabbed a sandwich and a pepperoni pizza for my son. You must try their homemade pepperoni. My son says it's "Spicy". They also offer traditional pepperoni for those that have not graduated to adult pepperoni :-) . We have had almost everything on the Menu. You can't go wrong with any choice.

Ate here last night and had the best pizza ever!! My waitress Kira was extremely friendly accommodating to all of my needs even though she was very busy and all while dealing with a man and his wife who seemed to be extremely difficult and rude. Hopefully she sees this and knows how much my husband and I appreciated her service!

1st visit. Best Pizza on the seacoast of NH by far and probably in NH. Beats Alley Cat & Boston Brothers. Old school small pepperoni were great , nice little char on the edges. Great curbside pickup, prompt. Worth the drive from Barrington for take out pizza. Our new go to.

This pizza is second to none in the area. Only Regina's in Boston is better IMOP. The cheese pizza is loaded with taste and not that greasy as others have commented. We also tried the margarita pizza which we also enjoyed very much. Garlic bread is very good too! Only complaint would be there are no free refills on the soda.

Decent food at a good price. Love their cup pepperoni pizza. We order "to go" a few times a month and they're consistent on flavor and quantity. Only one negative - the side of meatballs. $10 for two normal-sized meatballs is way too much (another local place has 4 for $7.95).

As hard as this is to write, write I must. Ordered take out the other night, the pizza was spot on but the wings, just okay and a totally rip off, what used to be 6 for $6 was $9 which would be fine if their were 6 but its actually 3 split in half. When you call to order which usually you are on hold for way too long, you are also asked if you want to add a gratituity, totally uncool, I will leave it at that, its uncomfortable and not right. Called after three days as my card was overcharged, voiced some of my concerns and the guy who I talked to just didn't care. Customer service is clearly not important here and frankly I won't be going back.

The pizza and sauce is great. It's thin crust pizza and IMO tastes great. The only issue I have is it's a bit greasy to eat but if you ask them to make it crispy, it's fine. Well worth the mess!

The plain cheese pie was on point! Thin crust, good cheese with the perfect amount of grease and the crust was perfect!!! The mozzarella bites were great and the sauce was good. They delivered to us at the truck stop which was amazing!!

Eaten here 3 times... Pizza is good but a step down from previous pizzeria that occupied that space. Crust is very good. Red sauce good but not great. Calamari (had last time there) was over fried - shriveled and chewy. Don't have anything positive to say about wait staff. Doesn't live up to legacy of Street'za and no where near Ken's.

Another disappointing cheese pizza from luigi's. Once again, the other pizza was decent. Step up the cheese pizza game, it can't be that hard to produce a decent CHEESE pizza. I couldn't even eat this at my peak of New Year's Day hangover it was that terrible. It's great to have some really high quality pizza options in Portsmouth! Luigis is fantastic. My husband and I have eaten in once and taken out twice. We are huge fans of the white and pesto pizza, but especially the misto salad, which reminds us of the salads we ate as kids growing up in Italian families. I'm not a huge fan of their red sauce -it tastes like it's right out of the can without a lot of effort to season/spice up. The pizza takeout process is smooth and easy and there's plenty of parking, so it's a great place to stop by and quickly pick up a pizza to go.

I would have given Luigi's four stars but I was completely ignored by the hostess when I walked in, she was too busy with her cell phone. After a couple minutes I started to walk out and she only then seated me. I ate at the bar and the service and food were excellent.

Very good ! We were lucky to arrive at the end of happy hour with their half price apps and Peroni and Prosecco ! We had calamari, fries mozzarella, delicious broccoli app (surprising). Our waitress , Kaitlyn?, was great. Very pleasant and efficient. We were a party of 6, so we sampled pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parm, and spaghetti with clams. Raves all around.

If you liked Ken's West End Pizza you will love Luigi's. We ordered a cheese pizza with sausage and mushrooms. It was amazing. We'll be ordering from here again

I'm honestly surprised at the negative reviews Luigi's has received so far. They are still very new and getting their footing, but that hasn't bothered me at all. This is a pizza joint that has taken a more upscale route, which I find to be very fitting for Portsmouth. I also think one would benefit greatly from not comparing Luigi's from past occupants of the space- they are entirely their own and it's a very good thing (Streetza was gross)! My husband and I have frequented this place several times now, sampled the menu, and have always had attentive service (and great takeout!). The food is excellent- from the sandwiches, to the pasta, the salads and, of course, the pizza! Truly the best pizza around, on all levels. They get the crust, sauce, and cheese absolutely right. The mushroom pizza is my favorite, it's a perfect combination of earthy and salty, and the meatball pizza is also fantastic. The fried mozzarella is another item that is upgraded from the average- so fresh and delicious! Overall I highly recommend this place to anyone that likes good food- and is open to trying something new! Yes, the prices are a little high, but who comes to Portsmouth to eat cheap food?! We will certainly be back again and again!

Tried Luigi's for the first time last night and was very pleased! Much better pizza than the previously standing restaurant. Good dough, BIG slices. We got the 19in large pizzas and two fed four with half pizza left over! Pepperoni was good, only complaint was the prosciutto pizza only had about 5 piece of prosciutto. Otherwise would recommend for good pizza in Portsmouth!

Great tasting cheese pizza with a thin crispy crust. Went on a snowy night and it topped off the evening. I went a second time on a crowded night. Service was slow and take out even slower. Food is good ... yet be prepared to wait 45 minutes or more.
