First, I’d like to say before I post this review I actually called spoke with the manager and he did not care kept making up excuses. I have been eating at Luke’s for 28 years and it’s very rare. You have a bad meal there today, the fried rice was burnt, dry and crunchy. Also we ordered the general towels chicken medium spicy and they gave us sweet-and-sour chicken. They realize that mistake and still did not offer to credit us anything as a small business owner. I hate leaving reviews like this without chatting with the management, but when the management refuses to cooperate and help the customer or review is warranted, I even gave the manager an opportunity before I’m leaving This review.

Google
My family is extremely picky when it comes to Chinese Food. Luke's was AMAZING. Our meals were fresh, delicious...and portions were HUGE. The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant had nice atmosphere. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Google
I just found my new favorite Chinese Restaurant!❤️ service is amazing, friendly and fast!. Price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get (you will have leftovers) and the food is of course off the charts! Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Rob Rotondo

Google
All of the food was very good. General Tsao's was great. I'm giving 5 stars because their main dish didn't disappoint and the service was spot on. The inside was clean and taken care of.

Google
Good food but the prices on menu are lower then they actually charge

Google
Pictures came out like ish.. but the food was delish... Came for my friend Ratha's 9,125 day around the sun.. The house sauce is where it's at for me!! The 🐔 it comes on.. mehhhh its 🐔, but get it on the side & use it for their 🦀 Rangoons or anything else you'd dip😉 It's a great little spot.. restaurant on one side & a bar on the other. worth the stop if you dig Chinese American food 👍

Google
This place has always been and will always be a gem. Good food. Good people. Such a staple.

Yelp
Amazing food, great and fast service. Cant go wrong with anything on the menu honestly. Family of 6 and we order once a week and plan to keep that up

Yula K.

Yelp
Some things have definitely changed since I was last at luke's, but they've still got quality Chinese food (and drinks) for a great price. Servers are very quick and attentive- very glad I visited again and will certainly be back

Yelp
I happen to Google the top spots for Chinese food in Rhode Island and Luke's came out in the top five. Because it was close to our house we headed that way and we were not disappointed . We had lunch in the bar area were plenty of regulars were enjoying golf and cocktail. We ordered their homemade crab ragoons for an app and they were absolutely delicious. I had the fried chicken with brown gravy, and my husband had general taos chicken. Both combo plates came with two scoops of pork fried rice and an egg roll. No way could we finish it and we took home plenty. Will definitely be back.

Ciel D.

Yelp
Consistently pitiful. I keep on thinking if I try something different, they can't all be never worth getting again. Wonton soup with mushy wontons and bits of grizzle, scallion pancakes with two or three minuscule scallion shreds. If it had flavor, that would be a plus. People on the east Bay find this stuff incredible. Welcome to a mass produced waste of money.

Celeste C.

Yelp
Very salty dishes , loaded with soy sauce . Nothing to say much . Service was .... Dark old and dated .

Ian T.

Yelp
One of those old school Chinese/Polynesian restaurants that you don't see any more, which is reason enough to go there. The food is delicious and if you're into tiki drinks, you're going to think you died and went to heaven.

Yelp
We ate at Luke's on a quiet weeknight. We were seated right away and the waitress was very friendly. The cocktail was overly sweet and not well balanced. We ordered an appetizer and three entrees expecting to enjoy the appetizer first and then the entrees. They all arrived at once. The dumplings were slightly less than room temperature when they should have been steaming hot. We sent them back. Only one of our entrees was hot, the lo-mein was also barely warm - certainly not above the 140 degrees for food safety purposes. We ordered the General Tso's "spicy", but when it arrived it was also not hot and certainly not spicy. The beef dish was hot and flavorful. I will not recommend this restaurant to friends - especially because of the food safety issue over food not above 140 degrees.

Yelp
Service was supper fast. I ordered a PUPU platter , pork fried rice and moo goo gai pan. Spareribs were excellent, big with lots of meat and they were not dripping in that sweet red sauce. Chicken wings were coated in teriyaki sauce but were not super sweet or greasy. They were nice and crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. The beef teriyaki was cooked really well, juicy with lots of flavor. Again not overly coated with teriyaki sauce. Wontons were super crispy and not greasy. Egg rolls had great girth but not great length. But they were nice and crispy not greasy and I loved their stuffing. The moo goo gai pan was also delicious, all the veggies were still vibrant in color, chicken was tender and the sauce had a great Subtle flavor . The scorpion bowl was a little small but tasted really good not too sweet. Fried shrimp and chicken wings were heavily battered but not greasy. I would definitely come back and not just for the food but for the service!

Katherine F.

Yelp
I checked the google reviews and there are so many glowing ones I ordered a bunch of food so we could try different dishes. Everything is flavorless, bad and overcooked. The pork fried rice has almost no pork no onions or anything else and the taste is terrible. The pork lo mein was missing the pork and the noodles were flavorless. Dumplings were overcooked and also lacked flavor. Very disappointing two stars because I didn't find hair in my food or a toe. I guess they get points for that..

Brian M.

Yelp
Still the best Chinese food around. I moved to Texas 4 years ago and nothing down here compares. Visited this past weekend over Memorial Day weekend while back in RI and they haven't lost a step! H7 and a side of house wings with a scorpion bowl. Fantastic!

Judith S.

Yelp
It used to be great, now everything tastes old and dried out. I was hoping the last time I'd been there was a fluke. Apparently not :(

Aly Y.

Yelp
At first, I thought the world of our trip to Luke's. We had garlic chicken and general Tao's chicken. Both were delicious and the egg rolls hit the spot. From the time we sat down to the time we were walking out with full bellies was 30 min. That's impressive!!! Great service - very accommodating! At that point, I would have given them 4 stars. However, now a 12 hours later.... I spent the entire night sick with food poisoning, now I can't even keep pedialyte in me. We will not be returning. I'm just glad my toddler was in a mood and didn't eat any of the food.

Al P.

Yelp
Two stars because they served us food late (1030 pm) and we were so hungry that anything would have been ok. But the food is bad. Seemed reheated. People are nice.

John P.

Yelp
I haven't eaten there in a while because every time I visited over these past few years, their prices had gone up. Bidenomics I guess. Anyway, I noticed something different about their fried rice. It doesn't taste as good the way I remember it, otherwise I would have given them a 4th star.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and honestly it has gone down hill the past several visits. We used to LOVE coming here but something has changed! Hubby and I decided to grab takeout and go eat by the water at Colt Park. Figured chinese would be a fun thing to bring. I started with wonton soup (delicious), hubby had hot and sour soup which he loved too. I had the chicken lo mein combination (serves with fried rice and mini egg roll). The lo mein had zero flavor, fried rice was just ok (had to put duck sauce on it to flavor it up) and the egg rolls were good, but really small. Hubby had the Szechuan Chicken combination and he disliked all of it aside from the small egg roll. He too said it was flavorless. Not sure what is going on here, but I hope they realize that they are going down hill and will likely lose a lot of repeat customers due to this.

Eva C.

Yelp
I've been coming to Luke's since I was a kid and every time I visit my hometown I make it a point to stop by for a delicious meal. There's something to be said when a restaurant keeps it consistent for decades. Sanita is doing something right! The pu pu platter has a little bit of everything and is perfect for sharing. I can't not order the fried wontons every time I go.

Emma F.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Very friendly staff, cooked to perfect to perfection food, and a great place to make memories with family. My family always gets takeout and they never EVER forget to pit something in the bag. They pay attention to every single detail to make it perfect. This business is one of the many few places I would give a 5 star. I would give it a 20 star if I could because it is tgat amazing. If you are ever considering going here, take it from me this will be your new favorite.

James S.

Yelp
This is my aunts favorite Chinese place, have been many times. The service is decent, food is good, but on the sweet side.

Stacey T.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in SE Mass and RI. Super fresh ingredients and generous portions. We had the bbq spare ribs and cashew, sesame chicken and chicken and broccoli. Egg rolls were super tasty too.

Dawn C.

Yelp
Worst Chinese food I have had. Everything was so overcooked and had no flavor. The the waitress never came back to ask us if everything was OK.

Margie S.

Yelp
First time ordering . The service was good the food was very good as well. This place as been in this are forever!! I don't know why I hadn't tried this place before today. The food was quick coming out. I ordered the veggie chow main ( for some reason I had a crazy craving) there so much more on the menu to explore! I also fried rice another craving. I'm all about trying it again maybe hopefully being a little more adventurous with my food choices.

Doc L.

Yelp
Ive been coming here since 1989!! The food here is consistently great and so is the service! I'm always satisfied with the Pupu platter, fried rice, and lo mein noodles!!! Whenever I'm in town and want Chinese food this is where I go!!

Dylan P.

Yelp
i have been a long time customer i always get the general tsos chicken combo it is one of the best around. the service is always great and attentive, i would highly recommend their beef teriyaki sticks as a side dish.

Aidan M.

Yelp
Small portions and lacking quality and quantity for the prices they are charging. This plate titled "Chef's Platter" cost me $14. Three beef teriyaki, one tiny egg roll and four chicken fingers. No rice included.

Alfred A.

Yelp
I've been driving by this place for years and finally got a chance to try it. It's a cozy place, comfortable booths, dim, quiet. The host was prompt, and the service was good. Generally the prices are good. Comparable to other Chinese restaurants. The food was decent, although the rice was a little bland. The homemade duck sauce wasn't so great. All in all I would probably go back.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars. Luke's Inn, the East Bay legend. They have been Voted Best by an RI Monthly readers poll. Established in 1985 they have become a local must visit. Ordered was a General Tso Combination plate, XXX spicy (as their menu offers) A Beef Teriyaki, House Wings Combo, and the Luke's Inn Chicken Combo. Feed back for all 3 is high praise. Luke's only uses white meat, a veteran move. Everything was fresh, the chicken for all three dishes was tender and fried to a nice crisp. The only complaint is that the Luke's Inn Chicken was very very sparse on Sauce. It was like it wasn't really tossed in anything more than a few table spoons. That was a let down. The sauce that was on it was indeed delicious. The General Tso Chicken was full of flavor, and the XXX spicy option, although not burn your mouth spicy (which we like) was still hot enough to be respectable from the perspective of a scolville scale of heat. Clearly prepared with house chill paste, it would be almost perfect if they used dried chili peppers instead. The Beef Teriyaki and Wings with House Oyster Sauce are spot on. The Pork Fried Rice served with all three combos was nice. It had a good balance of veggies, and pork, prepared with a lighter dose of soy. From our admin I'll keep it short and sweet today. Luke's inn was quite the pleasant surprise today, as I wasn't planning on today being graced with Chinese Food for lunch. When I saw the XXX General on the menu, I had to see what this place was made of. I like spicy food to be as spicy as you can give me, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not many restaurants that do a good General also do a heavily spicy General, but Luke's has it. Not the best general but very good marks, an 8/10, while also being significantly spicy. Nothing off the charts, as it was mostly from sriracha. Solid rice and egg roll rounded out a combination plate that made me very happy. All in all Luke's Inn was a highly respectable meal, and is a Chinese Food In RI approved experience. Head over to East Bay, and check out Luke's Inn. Enjoy, ChineseFoodInRI.com

Yelp
Great crab Rangoons and chick fingers but order them well done or eat dough like coating

Joe C.

Yelp
My New Favorite I love Luke's Inn. A Chinese restaurant with good food, great drinks, cool funny staff at a great value. What more can I say, well my favorite part is sitting at the bar and seeing all of the bottles in a glass hutch that looks like it should be in your dining room. Pretty awesome place. Thanks

Jacob S.

Yelp
Just got Luke's inn for the first time. Got two combination plates with crab rangoons, beef teriyaki and pork fried rice as well as boneless spareribs. The food was great and will definitely be back soon. Also, front of the house was very friendly !

john s.

Yelp
This is a popular restaurant for Bristol & Warren folks. I'm sure some come from further away. Overall, good food. I have several dishes I like to get. Chinese restaurant has its own style. My family started eating here or getting take-out over the last 30 years or so. As well as many folks I've known that long. Try their specials, as well.

Sofia G.

Yelp
Excellent Chinese food! Chow mein & chop suey mix is a must. Highly recommend Luke's Inn! The staff is very friendly too.

Dianne B.

Yelp
I would rather there were half star marks a whole is too much. From the moment we entered the dark building we were struck by a terrible smell. It was so off putting we left, can't put my finger on smell- mildew?

Ashley R.

Yelp
Awesome food. And the oriental decorations/ atmosphere is great. Service and scorpion bowl are always good. Egg rolls are very good. Luke's chicken special combination and orange chicken are really good.

Erin A.

Yelp
Don't know why anyone would give this place less than 5 stars. They have the BEST Chinese food in the area - in all of RI - and the service is great, prices are great... we literally order every 1-2 weeks. It's our only choice for Chinese - and my husband and I both grew up in Fall River. Since China Royal in Fall River closed, decades ago, this is the best FR-style Chinese around.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Wanted to try something new in the area and read other reviews. I ordered chicken and broccoli and the chicken was very spongey. Egg roll had barely anything in it. My nephew ordered boneless ribs and beef teriyaki and it was rubbery as well. Lo mein was plain noodles in a bowl of brown liquid. I am from New York and am used to much better Chinese food, this is not it. I am sorry for everyone who thinks it is great because you are missing out.

Jack M.

Yelp
Raised prices, reduced potions, lowered quality food. Was my go to place when Clem worked there. Head was okay but nothing like Clem. Went recently and $25 a person for menial portions, food quality decreased, and portion size decreased. We are not dumb. We can see what you are doing. Lost my patronage.

Al B.

Yelp
We love Luke's Inn. Great food and they make sure that what was ordered is correct before leaving All precautions are taken to insure everyone is safe Five stars

JeepGirl 3.

Yelp
This place was a had to try for me because my parents eat here a lot when they started dating back in the day. Well what a huge let down got take out agent home all 3 orders were wrong called they told me I had to drive it back and explain to them. Got there now it's me my father boyfriend and 2 year old. Lady told me no were not taking it back someone touched it I just looked at here like seriously no one touched it. You know what fine I said can I have it remade right then she said no you can not I said fuck it this place is terrible and I will never be coming back. Sad we never even got to try the food due to terrible service and horrible customer services.

Lisa H.

Yelp
I love this place! The food and menu are very similar to the old China Royal, for me.. that's awesome. Service on dining room is above average and DJ, our favorite server there, always has the orders correct and timely. He is also friendly and thoughtful. All the staff are friendly and great menu. I wish they did delivery, but I don't mind, that's how much I like the food. But don't take my word for it, try it! The only reason I don't give 5 stars is the interior could use updating and light.

James M.

Yelp
Just moved to the area and tried Luke's. Not a lot of Chinese choices in the area so I guess I kind of had to go with one with an american name. Bad choice. One of the worst I have ever had. Ordered sesame chicken extra spicy and extra crispy. Came soggy with NO spice at all. Worst sauce I have ever had on sesame chicken. You can tell a lot about a place by their sauces. I think I know things won't improve with other dishes.

Brian S.

Yelp
A lot of food Luke's claims to be a Chinese, American and Polynesian restaurant and it does indeed have a huge menu with a zillion choices. Lots of typical Chinese type dishes like chow mein, chop suey, subgum shrimp, egg foo young, moo goo gai pan, general's tso's chicken, and szechuan chicken. Lots of other quickly recognized Chinese dishes as well, with some of the szechuan dishes being blisteringly hot. What really makes Luke's a bit special are the seafood specials. Every place in Rhode island has fish & chips and Luke's is no exception. I don't know who the hell would go into an Asian restaurant for fish & chips but they are available. Also a fisherman platter, pan seared scallops, shrimp scampi, grilled tuna and mahi mahi and various little necks, crab cakes and clams. Even a shrimp with lobster sauce meal and a rather exotic seafood paradise dish with shrimp, crab and veggies in a tasty oyster sauce. Some really good seafood in a state with lots of really good seafood. For more traditional tastes Luke's offer burgers and fries, some steak and a few chicken dishes, although once again I don't why someone would bother to come in here for a crummy burger. Plenty of appetizers like spare ribs, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, popcorn shrimp and onion rings are also on the menu. The prices aren't bad for even the most expensive stuff but for a real bargain they have some nice luncheon specials. Nothing really exotic or different but you do get a whole heap of food for only 6 or 7 bucks. Not bad. Luke's does get pretty crowded at times, probably because there really isn't much around this area but also because it gives good food at some pretty reasonable prices. And with a menu that large you are bound to find something good to stuff your belly without cleaning out your wallet.

Julie F.

Yelp
I have been going here since I was a kid, and it's always going to be one of my favorites!! I have ordered many things off the menu over the year but my go to will always be either their vegetable or pork chow mien combination dinner with vegetable or pork fried rice and an order of crab rangoons and egg rolls!!! They have an awesome waiter/ bartender named DJ that is actually the owner's son, and he remembers EVERYONE'S usual! It's pretty impressive! Fast and friendly service both when you eat in or take out, never disappointed!

Mandy D.

Yelp
Luke's is my favorite Chinese place, so much so that I'm willing to drive all the way from Providence. I am obsessed with hot and sour soup, and tried it at dozens of other Chinese joints around the state. But nobody comes close to what Luke's has to offer. No "mystery beef" or bland, filler vegetables - it's perfectly spicy and sour and full of fresh ingredients. They also have the best crab rangoons around. Most places serve 20% crab, 80% cream cheese inside....Luke's are stuffed with an overwhelming amount of crab with just the right amount of cream cheese, and a soft, crispy shell. The food is always fast and fresh. I've been dining here since I was in a high chair, and it's really the only place I remember eating out as a little kid. It's because this place is PERFECT for kids...your food is out in no less than 10 minutes, and the food is fun too! We would always share a pupu platter and enjoy crisping our beef teriyaki and wontons on the little fire in the middle. And they would always garnish our sodas and juice with little monkey figurines or umbrellas. They have perfect placemats for coloring, too, and have crayons upon request. I don't mind getting stuck near tables with children here, because they are easily entertained and thus, well behaved. I don't get why others rated Luke's so low. As a college student, I eat Chinese at least every other week, and literally tried every restaurant in the Providence and East Bay area. This is as good as it gets!!! :)

Coral D.

Yelp
I come here probably like twice a month. today i came in with my friend because i needed to get a gift card. we sat at the bar and had drinks which are very good for the price you pay. my favorites here are: general tso chicken, sweet n sour chicken, lo mein low cal entries that are good are the skinless chicken tender and you can get a side of broccoli instead of rice so there is something here for everybody anndddd!!! they do karaoke starting at 9!!! i want to check it out but yeah i love lukes inn. i feel werd when i go to any other place for chinese

Crystal P.

Yelp
I have been dining at Lukes for more years than I would like to admit. Lukes offers everything you expect at a Chinese American restaurant with great quality. Scorpion bowl is delicious too but above all the Luke family and staff are very hospitable and a pleasure to visit.

Michael B.

Yelp
Food is great and staff if phenomenal DJ is awesome! Ben super cool. Been going there for years.

Rosie R.

Yelp
Local Warren and Bristol people rave about this place, but I just don't get it. Gave it three tries and every time the food was inedible. Warren people are such foodies otherwise--what the heck is going on when it comes to their taste in Chinese food?!? Food is greasy, overcooked, and just tastes...old. The first time I dined in, the tables felt greasy and there were loads of flies. Just not a pleasant experience, aside from the food. Drinks were pretty good, but not good enough for me to return. (Sorry)

Sue K.

Yelp
I went to Luke's for the first time today. We ordered 3 Shirley temples, 3 cups of wonton soup, 2 orders of dumplings and edamame. The bill was $49.69. I almost fainted!!!! That is highway robbery. Cost me $60 with a tip. The food was just ok but I will NEVER go back with those prices. Feel like I got robbed. $8.99 for dumpings???? What a joke: Bye Bye

Poppy B.

Yelp
Been going here for years. It's the best Chinese food around and nothing compares. Large menu selection and prices are reasonable. Portions are plentiful as you will most likely have leftovers which is always good. Food is always cooked to perfection. Service is fast and you always feel welcomed. Cameron is an excellent waiter if you choose to dine in. Highly recommend!
