I want to go back! Best crab roll I have ever had! I got the 6 ounces and it came with chips and a drink! The bread was perfectly soft and toasted. Their seasoning was delicious and the roll was packed with crab! Everything was perfectly seasoned, crispy, and soft in all the right places! My sister in law got her lobster roll warm and she said it was reeeeally good! I definitely want to try the lobster flight next time!

The food here was incredible. We both got a 6 ounce lobster roll, one was gluten-free and one was regular. They were both excellent. The people that worked here were super friendly.

I always love a good lobster roll. Juicy, filling, buttery lobster in bread. What's not to love? The decor is clean too, and the sign telling where the seafood comes from is a nice touch too.

Visiting from Australia. I felt like the lobster and crab rolls without the rolls. The team said “no worries” and I got my bowl of lobster, bowl of crab, slaw and clam chowder. All delicious but my fave was the clam chowder. I went back for lunch the next day and had the clam chowder. Fantastic!

Small place and food prices for lobster were reasonable. Could have had a bit more flavor. Also I ordered warm and wasn't very warm but wasn't ice cold.

The salad tasted like it was supposed to be pickled but the process went wrong, and it just got bad. Lobster bisque and crab rolls were average, not worth the price.

After doing a ton of walking in DC, we decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat and I'm so glad we did. I haven't had a lobster roll this good in ages! I know this place is a chain, but you can see why since they're doing it right when it comes to their delicious crustacean sandwiches. There was no line when we arrived so ordering was quick & painless. They even do online orders. I went with a seasonal specialty item: Truffle Butter Lobster Roll. It was served on a crispy buttered roll with chilled lobster & a white truffle butter sauce. I'm salivating thinking about it because it was so incredibly delicious if you're a fan of truffle. The lobster was succulent and fresh, but that truffle butter was IT! Sitting outside in the shade with a nice breeze was the perfect setting for enjoying my delicious lunch. I'll definitely be back & will probably order some to be shipped too lol.

I'm not the biggest fan of lobster but coming to Luke's Lobster changed my mind completely. I LOVED their lobster roll! If I remember I got a truffle butter lobster roll which was inhaled (honestly). Small menu which typically lets me know that they specialize in one type of food and boyyy did they specialize in it. Service isn't anything too remarkable but they did have a welcoming environment! A little pricey ~20-30 for a lobster roll and a drink, so putting it at 4/5 but that's a personal opinion of mine. Seating is a little limited at this location but coming an hour before closing wasn't super crowded!

Luke's Lobster is a family owned Maine seafood business, founded by third-generation lobsterman. They opened a seafood production business in 2013 that bought directly from fisherman they know and trust. In 2020, they launched an online market, and blew up; they now have shack locations in ten US states, Japan, and Singapore. Despite rapid expansion, their dedication to quality persists. This location in downtown DC is cute and cozy, with a small amount of indoor seating. The staff were genuinely hospitable. The menu has a concise Maine seafood deli theme, but with unique options like truffle butter and spicy honey. Prices are high, but so is the quality of ingredients. I opted for their Luke's Trio, which is three different 2 oz rolls: crab, lobster, and shrimp. Each was delicious in its own right, my favorite being the crab. I have been to several other Luke's locations, and usually prefer their lobster, but here, it was overly chewy. Perhaps an off day. I still love Luke's, and will always recommend them.

I know this is a chain, but it was so worth visiting!! Everything was a 10/10. I wasn't even convinced I was going to like the food here, but when in Rome, right? My expectations were greatly exceeded! I would definitely recommend trying the sampler! It was a good way to try out all the different rolls without committing! The lobster bisque soup was delicious, and so creamy! The indoor seating area was very small. I wouldn't recommend going in here to dine with a large group (larger than 4). The service is okay. Counter order, nothing spectacular.

I'm a lobster roll novice so I can't say I'm an expert on this, but my fave has been at Legal Seafood - mainly because it was served warm. Here, the lobster was cold. However, the price point is great for the amount of lobster you get. Worth a try when nearby.

Tried the truffle lobster roll (Connecticut style with warm butter), and I was in heaven! This place is not stingy on their lobster! Very friendly staff too. One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. Super fresh.

Believe it or not, you can find a great lobster roll sandwich shop in Washington DC. Located not far from the Capital One Arena, Luke's' Lobster offers authentic Maine lobster rolls served with the buttery toast. I tried the trio which has shrimp, lobster and crab. Although the sandwiches are a bit pricey, you get your money's worth. The shop has a small sitting area.

Stopped in here during a visit to D.C. and got the 6oz lobster roll and clam chowder. 10/10...both. The lobster roll was loaded with lobster and was the perfect pairing with a hot bowl of chowder. Service was good. Ordered at the window & food was brought out pretty quickly. This is really a great spot to pop-in and eat real quick. Seating is a limited, but again, this is a great spot to eat and go. The interior is what I imagine lobster spots are like in Maine. Definitely adding this spot to my D.C. restaurant list.

The service sucks. I hate when I go some where and a GenZ works there. You're almost guaranteed to be treated rudely and get their eyes rolled at you for asking a common sense question that's not so common to them. Like placing your order for a combo, 10-15 later receiving partial order and have to ask what came with the combo. This girl rolled her eyes and said chips and a drink. I asked here, "where do I get it from"? She scoffed at me, rolled her eyes, said, "right there" and walked off. I kindly said to her, "it would have made so much more sense if you would have gave it to me when I placed my order". You'll never believe she kept on walking off and went told her manager k asked her a rude question. His ignorant self said, "some people like that, ignore her". This the kinda of $25 per order experience I'm not trying to have!

Definitely a takeout place not sit-in place because the inside is very cramped and fishy-wharf feeling. However, the one guy cooking and running the counter was friendly and fast, and my very expensive 4oz $24 lobster roll was delicious! Sweet soft lobster meat with just the right amount of mayo, just a smear, and a buttery bun to hold it in. Yum!

This was an unexpected visit out or a check in during the week for me because I had family in town from Portland for a conference at the Marriott Marquis. So basically, with that being said my Cuzn's wifey wanted to grab something quick to eat that was close because she been in meetings all day at the conference. Well you obviously know what I did. I was like, Let consult Yelp!.. haha.. Seafood is her thing, so we discovered Luke's Lobster.. We choose to walk there and allow the opportunity to view the city at the same time. Forgive me, I feel like I'm being a little long winded this time. Ok, I must say to me the spot is a little cramped in space. However, it's definitely a switch up in variety compared to the other restaurants in the area. The gentleman taking out was kool and pleasant. Straight forward, no extra-ness...Good service and awareness throughout our visit. Now we got all that out of the way, the food of my choice that I recommend is the Lobster Bisque soup and the King Crab Lobster Roll/ Sandwich. This was a little different. Just make sure your request to have the sandwich prepared hot not cold.. Basically, warm the crab meat up. It literally comes straight from the shell, so it was more like room temperature. If not for that little alterations, it would be 5 Stars! Nevertheless I do recommend this spot..

Tried the Lobster roll flight and it was amazing! Next time I will request warm butter. Service was quick and efficient! I sat by the window to eat and it was a nice casual ambiance and vibe that allowed me to enjoy my afternoon lunch.

Still three stars. I always hope it will be more. The rolls are always tasty. I still want the bread to be extra toasted with a little more butter. Today the clam chowder was ridiculously salty. I couldn't finish it. As always, the store always has the sweetest employees.

My fiancé and I went to Luke's this past Sunday. The ambiance was very casual but overall it was a comfy eating experience. First thing I noticed was that the rolls are LOADED with lobster! The seasoning was great, a stellar roll compared to other places we have had before but also a bit pricier. I very much enjoyed their beverages too, my fiancé had the lemonade and I had the pomegranate hibiscus ginger ale, both were great in my opinion. Service was maybe overly casual, but it was a rainy Sunday so we didn't mind it as long as the food got out quick, and it was. I highly recommend trying this place out, at least once. My fiancé and I would definitely go back and then take a stroll though DC afterwords like we did this past Sunday.

PERFECT stop for a quick bite! It's a quaint little restaurant with a small window to order inside, or you can use the kiosk to order. I love all of the options, but you can't take any of the rolls warm to go. Only cold rolls to go. Not sure why. But the guy at the front desk must have been tired of saying that all day by the time we got there. I had the lobster roll trio and it was DELICIOUS!! Don't expect to get super full off of it though. So it's a great stop if you want quick food while you're walking around the city and don't want leftovers. There are about 10 seats or so to eat inside. Overall, I definitely recommend!

Who would not love a lobster roll? I was in DC for the first time and was craving for some seafood. I did a quick yelp search and came across Luke's. I quickly proceed with walking to this place with high expectations. And it didn't disappoint. I ordered the lobster roll with clams chowder combo. The roll was buttery and the lobster quantity was perfect. The cold lobster meats and the warm roll created a mouth watery combination. I demolished the roll in a couple of minutes. I then washed it down with the clam chowder. The chowder was average. It was a bit too bland for my liking. But lots of clams bites. After all, I came here for the lobster roll, not a chowder so I left a happy man.

First time here, and it was very good! We were greeted with a smile, and an explanation of the menu. The food was delicious and fresh. It's a small place to grab a bite to eat. There are a few tables to sit inside. I enjoyed the photos on the walls. Will be back for sure! The blueberry soda is tasty.

I was going to a place down the street and decided to pop into Luke's. It was a little pricey but overall pretty good. Service was quick and the staff was nice. The lobster roll was good. It had the exact 4 oz of lobster meat on a toasted bun. No extra. There was just the right amount of Luke's Secret Seasoning. There wasn't anything special with the seasoning. I also had the clam chowder which was good. It had a lot of potatoes in it. They offered a combo sandwich, chowder and drink for $36. I wouldn't go every day due to the price but would occasionally go as a treat to myself.

Staff wasn't that friendly. Place as dirty with previous customer's food scraps.. We had to clean the table ourselves. Food is typical, like every other luke's lobster flavor.

The cashier / counter person was really friendly and did an excellent job selling the items. The lobster roll was legit albeit pricey but it's a luxury food after all. Tried once and I think that should be sufficient due to the price tag.

Fantastic Lobster Roll restaurant conveniently located near Downtown D.C. We ordered Luke's Trio which came with one shrimp, crab, and lobster roll. The roll was about half the size of a full roll, but they really pack the seafood in - I was comfortably full after finishing the three rolls. The rolls are lightly seasoned, slightly chilled, and really focus on the freshness of the seafood. Luke's Trio comes with a side of chips that you select from a chip rack yourself after checking out. Small restaurant with minimal seating. When we visited, there were only a couple parties dining in/picking up orders so we were able to grab a bar seat by the windows. When we left, they asked us how our meal was, which was appreciated and left our visit on a positive note. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

It's expensive. It's also lobster, particularly a twee little tasting of three different rolls. They give you a solid serving of meat in each. I personally thought the hot honey was the best, which is surprising for sweet on sweet. The spice really worked though. The truffle was much less interesting than I hoped it would be and I'm glad I didn't order just that one. Having lived in New England and now in the center of the country, it's as good as what I used to get up north. Not an everyday lunch, but this is a great tourist or treat yourself option.

Great, fresh rolls. awesome service and the best music. A real variety ranging from Boy George, Led Zeppelin to James Brown.

Easy to order on the tablet. Some high top seating inside or you can order to go. The employee was nice and super fast with my to-go order (I waited probably less than 10 mins). I ordered the lobster roll flight ($38), which came with three different 2 oz rolls. I didn't really taste a huge difference between two of them, but they were all still really gooood. Ate all 3 pretty quickly. I also ordered a regular 4oz lobster roll with the lobster mac & drink combo ($37). The lobster meat portion was good, and it was served chilled in a toasted split bun. The lobster mac & cheese was just okay, and I could probably do without it next time. After tip, it came to a little over $80 for everything. A little pricey but it was definitely yummy! Parking: Only saw street metered parking out front but no open spaces (it was a weekday around 2pm), so my husband just hovered in a passenger drop off/pickup spot across the street while I went in to order.

Extremely good and fast! I loved the lobster. They give a generous portion so it's worth the money.

I appreciate the concept, flavor and simplicity of the menu. Very few options, suggesting the inventory is fresh. The place was clean and the beer options local to New England are a nice touch (Narragansett, Allagash, etc). A lobster roll, side of slaw and a beer came to about $40 US. The only reason this location is getting 3 stars is for the horrible attitude of the staff.

Other than this being a little over priced, it was kick ass and I highly recommend. The lobster hoagie was great, the shrimp hoagie was just not good enough to compete with the lobster roll. I guess that's why they call it Like's Lobster and not Luke's Shrimp. Keep up the good work!

To begin, let me state that this lobster roll was my first in Washington and that it was excellent. Anyone who works close enough to get this for lunch every day has my envy. On a Saturday afternoon, when there were only four of us there, we found the place to be relatively empty. We got the honey lobster roll that was on special and the standard lobster roll with clam chowder. They certainly didn't scrimp on the lobster when packing 4 ounces into a roll. Each roll was loaded with tender, ocean-salted lobster pieces. I'd like a little more butter for the roll. For some reason, I thought this would be a hot roll so I was surprised when I bit into the roll and it was cold. When given the choice between the ordinary lobster roll and the special honey one, I opted for the former because I'm not a fan of artificially sweetened lobster. The chowder with clams was delicious as well. The chowder was not too thick and there were plenty of clams in it. Even though the lobster roll is on the pricier side, they don't scrimp on the meat. Even though the store is on the opposite side of the country from where the lobster is from, you can tell that the lobster is fresh.

We came here on Christmas week on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. No one else was in the restaurant when we came in, I'm glad for that since it was our first time and it took us a while to figure out what we wanted. EVERYTHING looked amazing. I opted for their special, lobster roll flight. I couldn't sit still I was so excited! It was (3) 2oz lobster rolls, lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter. It was amazing! It was a pretty penny though, 2 lobster flights, clam chowder, and a blueberry drink were $90. It was worth it 100. *make sure you Google the story behind Luke's Lobster!

We came to Luke's after the cherry blossom festival. It really was the best lunch after an action packed day. The staff is also extremely kind. The lobster roll was super filling with the soft bun and succulent lobster. That chowder was extremely rich and tasty. I really enjoyed it.

We enjoyed Luke's trio with coleslaw, a shrimp roll, and a lobster roll. The seafood was very fresh and delicious! The buns were soft and just the right amount of toast. Would definitely recommend !

This lobster roll hit the spot 5/5 It's a very small place with minimal seating, but I noticed people are in and out here, so we were able to get a seat at the window. The male employee (wish I got his name) was so nice and our order was out quickly. If I'm ever in DC again, I'll be sure to visit this place again.

Food is still delicious, but this place has really changed. You have to enter your order on a screen, no human interaction to answer questions. Then they hand you your $$$ order and service kind of just sucks for how much you're spending here. We asked if they had water in cups. Nope. Sorry. Just pretty sub par to drop $100 on a few items for lunch.

I love trying lobster rolls up and down the east coast and Luke's lobster is one of my absolute favorites for flavor. The lobster is delicious and succulent and their butter and seasoning is perfected. They also have one of my favorite clam chowders around. It's pricey for a takeout lunch and it is not recommended when you are very hungry, but for taste factor, it can't be beat.

Tried going to Truluck's first for lunch but bartender was so rude/?snobby and made me feel terrible so I left and went to find seafood elsewhere and came across Luke's! The women at the register was so kind, she just made my day (wish I caught her name), this was last year but she left such a wonderful impression. Food was great too :) Thanks!

Sad to say I found this on my last day in DC. I had the warm lobster roll. It was wonderful. If I had an extra day I would definitely go back. Well worth the price for the quality you get.

This place has decent seafood and a tiny, well air conditioned dining room. I paid $30 for the combo of a 2oz shrimp, lobster, and crab roll and a bag of chips. The rolls themselves were fine, nothing special but not bad. The real downside to this place is how they push selling combos to nickel and dime their customers. I asked for a glass of water with my $30 and was told I could only buy a single use plastic bottle for $2. If I'm going to pay $30 for lunch the least they could do was include some tap water to wash it down. Anyway, because of this dumb policy I won't be back and won't recommend this place to anyone.

The lobster, crab, and shrimp were as fresh as advertised, and I appreciated their sustainability efforts. Definitely on the pricey side for such a small roll, but maybe that's just lobster for ya. I would have liked more complexity of flavor. The lobster was fragrant while the mayo seemed a little too heavy and greasy in juxtaposition. I'm no lobster roll expert, but it could have used a little tartness or spiciness to highlight the delicate texture of the meat and to rescue it from the heavy mayo. Glad to have tried it, but not worth revisiting, in my opinion.

Very pricey (as you might expect for lobster) but was really tasty. I think the portion size was way too small for the price though. Spending $38 for a drink, chips and sandwich you can eat in three bites seems a bit much when you think about it. It's a good choice when you want to treat yourself. Also the staff was excellent. They messed up my order but apologized profusely and gave me the correct order after realizing the mistake. I'd be back just for the good service.

I have been eyeing to come here for at least two years before finally trying it. I'm going to say that the rolls here was disappointing. Starting from the portion size, they were absolutely small. Like little sliders for children. I got the trio lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls. Although they are 1/2 size rolls each, they were really tiny. The taste was mediocre. The lobster, crab and shrimp all lacked flavor. I also tried the clam chowder here. The chowder was better than the rolls. It is convenient to find parking around here and due to Covid, there is no dine in. However, they do have two small tables outside with chairs.

Came here after a very stressful day walking all over the national mall. Ordered the three lobster roll set and the cashier was kind as to swap out a spicy roll for another butter lemon roll. These lobster rolls were delicious: cold fresh meat and a warm toasted bread on the outside just exactly how I like it! If you don't like this style this is Maine style so a certain type of roll which I didn't know before since I'm from the west coast. Each bite was so delicious I ate it super slowly and it was a perfect amount. I also tried the clam chowder which had a strong fish flavor to it that was super good. Really enjoyed this as well. The only thing I wish was that the rolls were bigger

All Luke's lobster shacks, even in different states, have had the same superb quality in lobster rolls and soups, and friendliness in their staff members. My stomach had a disagreement once after a to-go meal from Luke's, and upon receiving feedback, they immediately addressed it and welcomed me back. I am so blown away by their commitment to customer service, their story, and as I learned reading their wallpapers, sustainability. I believe the company culture to be one of their secret ingredients to their mouth-watering-lobster-filled-to-the-brim-on-brioche-bread rolls. They have a customer for life, and I will always rave and root for Luke's wherever I go. My top recommendations: Lobster roll with a drizzle of warm butter for that extra oomph, and that oh so yummy lobster bisque.
