I gave it all five stars because it knocks it out of the park as a family style restaurant. I went in blind with zero expectations. First time trying out the place. Ordered the city chicken. Got two big skewers of that. Fresh green beans! What a treat. My friend order the Polish combo. Wow! Impressive and delicious. If you want old school, family style food , I don’t think you’ll find better elsewhere. The menu is pretty inclusive and does have a decent variety of salads offered. I’ll be back for breakfast. 😋

I’ve only had breakfast here, but it keeps me coming back! I love the lunch and dinner menu, and will be back for more. Breakfast is great and they are open early, which is great for me. Great service…. almost like everyone that works there is the owner! You will not be disappointed eating here, and if you see me for breakfast please say hello!!!

My family and I have been coming here for years! Always had a great experience! The owners and staff are incredible. My mom and I recently came here. We ordered fish and chips and the chicken pita. Everything tasted delicious. Highly recommended 👌

Google
Donna and Nicole Nicolette were great ! Coffee and water was always full. Pan Omelette was very filling and perfect cooked along with the homemade hash brows ( American fries on the menu) . Pancakes were good and hot . I will definitely return. The whole family enjoyed the meal as well .

I was there for a wake. The food was very good, the staff was friendly and service was good. Kept our cups full of whatever we had. Portions were very ample, and I took 1/2 home. The leftovers are pictured

Small family-owned diners are places that customers looking for a good meal with a good price can never go wrong with. However, as first time visitors, our experience was subpar. I’ll start with the good first though. Their selection of soups was great, I absolutely loved the dill soup. They provided sliced sandwich bread and crackers on the side. The Reuben was fantastic and I think that it was the best thing we ordered today. The pricing was very reasonable. On the other hand, my plate of grilled cod (substituted since the perch was unavailable) was mediocre. The fish was chewy and bland, the veggies were slightly over cooked, and the potatoes, although fresh, were bland as well. The dining room itself was cozy but could use some renovation work. Our waitress was very friendly but seemed overworked and frazzled and even spilled our beverages a tiny bit. I hope to return again for the (highly-regarded) breakfast and hopefully with a better experience!

I have been going to Lukich for many years with my family. They have good fish and vegetarian (e.g. eggs) options, and the customer service is very good. Prices are very reasonable in such current times. Please do not change anything. مَا شاء الله

Google
Great local diner I found while staying in Troy, seeking a good, homestyle place to eat that reminds me of home. Staff is friendly and accommodating, portions are hearty and filling given the prices. Order was prepared quickly. Look forward to going back.

Yelp
5 stars for the friendless and attentiveness of the staff here - even with a full house they gladly accommodated our group and elderly grandparents who have mobility issues and treated them with kindness and patience answering their questions about the menu and making sure we were comfortable. It definitely is a family restaurant and feels very welcoming! I had a great experience dining here - the only thing we commented on is that we actually preferred the non- polish dishes that were ordered over the polish food. But we are all very picky about our perogi in a Polish family- so take our feedback with a grain of salt. Fish sandwich looked delish, and a lot of solid breakfast options! I'm sure we will be back for the warm hospitality and food! I'd recommend coming here.

Yelp
Great place for traditional polish food. They have it all. Quiet, clean and bright dining room. Friendly staff and great service. Fair prices. Came here on a Thursday at 5:00, not busy at all and wanted some polish food. The restaurant smells of saurkraut, but that's expected. Will be back!

Yelp
This was exactly what I wanted when I decided to get my fix of polish food on my Michigan vacation. It seems others I have been to in the past have closed. Glad Lukich is still open! I had the super combo with fresh bread, side salad (great ranch), potato pancake, fried pierogi, a stuffed cabbage and sausage on sauerkraut What a great meal and friendly service

Yelp
Love this place! Been going here for years and the pierogis are always a hit. love that you can add them as a side with a breakfast combo. Their chicken noodle soup is one of the best ever. The restaurant is so welcoming, the staff is so kind and it's the perfect place for a homey meal.

Jane K.

Yelp
Waited over 45 minutes for breakfast. Once delivered, food was eh... nothing special. Toast was dry and hardly buttered. Not impressed. Pricey for breakfast.

Yelp
I was so excited to find a local Polish spot on a work trip. The vibes are very much American/Polish diner, we were the youngest ones in the room, older crowds there for lunch specials. The room is light, bright, and clean. Service was nice and consistent. The pierogis were good, I suggest the sauerkraut ones. I wish I got them boiled rather than fried. The potato pancakes were great and came with both applesauce and sour cream. The star of the show was the cabbage roll! Great flavor and texture. Cute local spot.

Yelp
Thankfully this place was open on a Monday. Thank you! I was dying for Polish food. Service was excellent. What would we order again? Beef barley soup Cole slaw Swedish meatballs Cabbage roll plate What would we not order again? Nothing. It was all so good.
google avatar

Yelp
Always great food and service. Home cooked food type of feeling. Feels like you're going to grandma's house for that comfort food on a bad day.
google avatar

Debra S.

Yelp
On short notice saved a table for us in a Sunday before we took my parents to airport. Food was amazing as always
google avatar

Kevin R.

Yelp
The Polish food was very good. Pierogis were pan fried, not deep fried. That's how I like them. Kraut was good and I enjoyed the Golabki. Dinner came with a vinegar Cole slaw which I really liked too. I will go back, for sure.

Yelp
It was time for something different, and after a movie we decided to try Lukich's. It's a big place and you can figure out what it used to be. The menu is extensive, with daily specials and ethic dishes. The service was good, considering how busy they were, and the food was pretty tasty and portions are large. Everything needed a bit more seasoning, but that was easily resolved. It's a family restaurant at its core, with some different options than you usually see. Certainly worth a try.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the Polish combo and the wedding soup!! All very tasty!! Definitely worth a try, will be in our rotation of good eats!!
google avatar

Emma J.

Yelp
Hands down thee best polish food ever.Stopped her randomly because it looked good and it didn't disappoint, our waitress was super friendly and the food came out super fast.Order the potato

Yelp
We've been touring metro Detroit in search of good Polish food without the drive to Hamtramck. Lukich looked like an option but when we got there the Polish menu only had about six standard dishes. Employees were very nice. Food was decent. And everything was clean. It's a good family restaurant. But it's not the place to go for Polish food.

David D.

Yelp
Never been to the restaurant for regular service but went there for private parties/catering. Without a doubt 4 of the 6 things ate were the tastiest versions I had anywhere and the rest was excellent and in the top ten. Not sure their daily menu is the same but if you hire them to cook great food You won't need disappointed. Of If I ever have to cater this is the place. Don't let looks deceive you. Their decor may need updating but you can't update their cooking. Will try the restaurant food some time and report too.

Yelp
Went here a little while ago and it is wonderful when work brings you to random places to say this is a diamond in the rough is an understatement The potato pancakes were the size of Texas and not greasy wich is hard to find. I don't think I have had pierogies this large since a trip to a old polish market in the hood on a romantic weekend in Ohio of all places LOL. The farmer's cheese pierogi was very good some of the best I've ever had and the city chicken was made with veal which is the right way I will say that ambiance is like any other family restaurant being a wee bit dated the carpet is probably from 20 years ago but to their credit it was absolutely immaculate not a single crumb on the carpet and it looked great for its age which is hard to say in a business that you can tell does high volume. The dill pickle soup was definitely homemade. But at the end of the day some meals are just made for two and this Definitely would be a great meal to share with the one you love. Take a tip and bring someone here u care. About . Homade Food isn't everything but it is love. I will be back

Savannah B.

Yelp
Amazing food and it is all homemade!! Would recommend to anyone who is visiting the area. Service is terrific and establishment serves all food with love. Check it out!

Yelp
Had been a very long time since I dined here. Stopped here for a quick breakfast. Didn't disappoint! Went with breakfast special-2sausage scrambled eggs, American fries and wheat toast. Everything prepared perfectly! Waitress and manager could not have been more friendly. They really seemed to appreciate the business! Very fair prices.
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
Service was awesome. Food was great! Highly recommend just for something super casual. Love the polish food
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
Seemed busy with regulars, but I enjoyed being able to get Polish sausage at breakfast time. Typical diner food done fairly well.
google avatar

Yang C.

Yelp
Haven't been here since before the pandemic but the awesomeness has not changed! Food is just as good as it was in 2018 (which I can't say for all places post-pandemic closures). Prices are also very reasonable. My favorite is gotta be the vinegar-based Cole slaw (it's not even on the breakfast menu so you might have to ask for this secret item). This base is typical for the Balkans I hear where the owners are from. Anyway, it's healthy, refreshing, and delicious!

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Great Polish food (stuffed cabbage and pierogi) and great service from our waitress! We'll be back!

Mike B.

Yelp
Great service here first of all. The food is very good, they have great breakfast. Lukich is reasonably priced and you get a lot of food. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Ended up in Troy for a shopping trip, and I love to support small businesses especially during the time of COVID, I turned to yelp and found this place to have pretty good reviews, and just down the street from us. They adhered to social distancing, it was definitely dated decor, but well kept, with a nice garden outside. Our waitress was great, very attentive, it was a very hot day and i requested extra ice with my water, and she brought back some extra ice a few more times when she refilled the water. They specialize in Polish cuisine- Which in my opinion can be hard to find it done well. They get 4 stars for the food and quality. Dill pickle soup was excellent, not overly sour, but sour enough. Dumplings in the chicken and dumpling soup were tender and fresh. They have a variety of combos, and i got the super to get a taste of everything. My highlights were the cheese pierogis, and the stuffed cabbage, but the kielbasa was amazing. Potato pancakes were some of the best ive had, not overly greasy, and cooked nicely. My sister loved the homemade mashed potatoes. My husband had the stuffed chicken breast, and didnt have any leftovers. He said it was delicious and filling, but i never got to taste it lol. If im ever craving POlish again, I will make the drive out. For us three, it was about 42 dollars plus a tip.

Curtis H.

Yelp
I thought I would treat my office staff to lunch from here last week to support another Troy business. There were alot of styrofoam containers for just 3 lunches but they felt very light. Upon opening them, the portions were small, especially for the price of the Polish combo meal ($17). Also, we noticed that the pierogi were cooked in the deep fryer. Not very authentic and they had an off taste from the fryer. Not going back.

Yelp
Today was my first time coming here. I was meeting some friends for lunch, and this place was suggested. Our waitress Lisa was pretty awesome. She was very attentive to our needs, made great suggestions. I don't think our experience could have been any better. I ordered the Swedish meatballs with chicken noodle soup. It was fantastic. Probably the best Swedish meatballs I have ever had. My one friend ordered up Pierogi and potato pancakes with Italian wedding soup. My buddy said it was delicious! My other buddy got the Lukich's Super Combo. It has Stuffed Cabbage, Polish Sausage, and Sauerkraut, Pierogi, Potato Pancakes, and Corn. He said it was delicious. Overall, a positive experience in a friendly environment. I will be coming back for sure.
google avatar

Galloping G.

Yelp
The Polish food is recommended. The chicken noodle soup is worth the trip. I don't recommend breakfast or American food. The service is good. The ambiance is Early Bowling Trophy. There is a party room to rent.

Yelp
We were here for breakfast a few years ago and it was good so we decided to try dinner. I'm glad we did. This is a great family restaurant! We got polish food-city chicken, pierogi, sauerkraut, polish sausage, potato pancakes, and cabbage rolls which were all delicious! We also tried the onion rings and they were homemade. If you like a bread basket with your dinner and great food this is theplace for you. We had great service as well. Definitely will be back soon!

Megan P.

Yelp
The food in the mini combo was the perfect amount and variety of amazing Polish food to handle a craving! The restaurant was clean and cozy. And the service was fast and friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
We came to Lukich for a break from our normal breakfast spot and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeting right away and they gave us the ample time to look over the menu. I had my eye on the crepes since it's so hard to find good ones anymore. Most are filled with a sugary mix or a cream cheese blend . Lukich fills there's with a farmers cheese and though it was delicious, it was a little too much cheese for me, but I guess that's better than the alternative. We also ordered the "grilled cinnamon roll" and it is literally just that. A roll sliced in half and grilled. Pretty tasty but I'm not sure id order it again. Other than that, everything was great. The eggs and bacon were pretty standard and same for the potatoes. Overall, I definitely think we'll be back!

Susan H.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Service is great. Love the coleslaw- vinegar based-no mayo! Yea ! Best sauerkraut.

Celeste M.

Yelp
Food quality much Declined. Baked chicken tastes like old shake and bake. Post COVID orders disappointing.
google avatar

Boris B.

Yelp
This is a fine choice for a great breakfast. I had the Polish sausage omelette and it was very tasty! The American fries are some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had in the entire metro area - homemade, cut up medium-thick, and browned just right. The potato pancakes were excellent too! And the menu has some non-typical items, many with an Eastern European slant, that I want to try when I come back. The downside? The coffee is mediocre; it's typical diner coffee (yeah, add a lot of sugar) and the ambiance is plain (if not dated). But who cares? You're getting a delicious homestyle breakfast at a family-run operation with good service. You'll walk out with a smile and a positive outlook on your day!
google avatar

Sandy L.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Very simple, but quite delicious. The prices are a little cheaper than what they have posted on their website. That's always a plus! We ordered 2 scrambled eggs, 4 sausage links, pancakes, and a polish omlette (onions, green pepper, polish sausage) with American fries (hashbrowns), toast and a cup of coffee. Everything was delicious and affordable! Found out that this is a polish restaurant so definitely will come back for dinner one day.

Anthony G A.

Yelp
Great and homemade tasting food, with amazing service, and a great layout and ambiance, would go there again
google avatar

Sandy S.

Yelp
It pains me to say that although the food looked so appetizing i found my taste buds disappointed. The food was lacking in flavor. It was missing the savory flavor it needed to be satisfying. Also, the food was warm as if it had been reheated and not cooked to order. If you go bring your own spices!!

J B.

Yelp
Regular diner food, but good portions + good prices = great value. The interior could maybe use some updating, but the service is always friendly and warm. They have a lot of regulars, which should tell you something about how much people in the area enjoy it here.
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
It's like your grandmother is cooking for you. Everything on this plate was delicious. The stuffed cabbage is one of my favorites. They also have a great breakfast. I've been here about 5 times and I've never left not happy

Noah G.

Yelp
Been going here ever since grade school and they always have the best food for an amazing price love everything about this place and the people who run it.
google avatar

Jackie T.

Yelp
We love breakfast here. Had not been in a while called for carry out and it was just as delicious and they brought it out to the car.
google avatar

Roger I.

Yelp
My wife wanted potato pancakes on a Sunday at 6pm. I looked around and found Lukich's. Considering how good all our food tasted after a 15 minute drive home, I can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu. I had the Trio combo, which was enough for me to have a great lunch the next day. My potato pancakes and pierogi were very tasty. I'm sure the cole slaw and stuffed cabbage will be just as good. This was a great find!
google avatar

Kristen F.

Yelp
Dined in at Lukich's for the first time 7.13.20 and so happy with our choice! Everything is homemade. The ranch dressing was delicious. (I am not usually a fan.) The fish and chips were perfect - just the right amount of batter and the fish was excellent. My husband had the Super Combo (Polish favorites) and everything was outstanding, especially the cabbage rolls and sauerkraut. Orange pineapple cake for dessert was heaven! Best of all, we were treated like family. I would eat at Lukich's every time over a chain restaurant. Very clean. Great family place! We will be back!
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
Lukich's is owned and operated by a family. They have some Polish specialties (pierogis, potato pancakes, blintzes, stuffed cabbage, sausage and sauerkraut, etc.) that they do very well. However, they have lots of non-Polish food, too (roast turkey, fish, soups, salads, sandwiches). The food is always good and so are the prices. The staff is also very nice. Lukich's is a good place to get a home-cooked meal you didn't cook at home.
google avatar

Bruce B.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Troy on an errand and looked for a restaurant for brunch. We saw that Lukich Family Restaurant had good Yelp reviews and checked the menu online. We noticed quite a few cars in the parking lot - a good sign, especially at 1:30pm on a Sunday. After being seated, we searched through a much bigger menu than what was online. I wanted breakfast and chose the Polish sausage and onion omelette while my wife decided on the lake perch with fries. We received our meals in about 20 minutes which were delicious. The service was a little slow as the waitress did not come around enough to check on coffee refills. Otherwise, she did a good job. The atmosphere in the diner was family oriented - one table of regulars talked about the Detroit Tigers and another politics. All in all a good experience. We will be back to sample some items we saw on the menu.

Yelp
When it comes to Polish food, this place is a pretty big miss. I was excited when I found this place, as we live in Troy and frequently travel to Hamtramck for good Polish food. I ended up getting the Super Combo. - Stuffed Cabbage: Average - Polish Sausage: Smoked sausage. I prefer the fresh style of kielbasa that is boiled and not smoked. This was only so-so. - Sauerkraut: Eh, average. - Pierogi: Decent - Potato Pancakes: Pretty large with an odd texture. They tasted okay but different than what I am used to. - Vegetable: Frozen mixed vegetable straight from the bag. No flavor, no seasoning. Bottom line: I won't be eating here again. Everything was so mediocre that I couldn't justify it. If I want good Polish food, I will be making the trek to Hamtramck as usual.
google avatar

Pat R.

Yelp
This is a reasonable priced restaurant with tasty food and excellent customer service. I'm from Southern CA and was delighted to find such a charming eatery at affordable prices during my recent visit to the Midwest. As a plus, our waitress, Angie, was kind enough to take photos of our group of friends, using my digital camera. I understand that Donna, the owner, has happily served the Troy area of Metro Detroit for many years. Perhaps the crowded restaurant at 2 p.m. tells this service best. Patrons visit Lukich's at all hours of the day, and are in no hurry to leave because this restaurant makes you feel so much at home!
google avatar

Walter S.

Yelp
Oh man this place is the bomb! It has an old diner feel when you enter but friendly wait staff and great chow! I had the chicken casserole and chicken noodle soup. And I licked my plate! Bam!
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Ordered a ham and Swiss omelette and it was pretty standard. The pierogies are amazing!!! My husband thinks these are the best he has ever had!
google avatar

Ben G.

Yelp
Went there for breakfast with the posses today -- great time, great food, great people! I'm a fan!
