TL;DR: Save your money and stay elsewhere.
I rarely write reviews—but I feel compelled to share my experience to help others avoid the disappointment I felt after choosing this property. Based on the glowing reviews, photos, and room description, my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short, especially considering the price.
We booked the penthouse suite (for just over $400 per night) specifically because it was listed on Hotels.com as having two king beds. It was the only room in the hotel described as having a king bed, and one of the few options in Kaş offering that. I understand that bed sizes can vary outside the U.S., but every other hotel we stayed at in Turkey provided an actual king-sized bed when advertised. At the Lukka Hotel, however, both beds were queen-sized, not king.
The problems didn’t stop there:
- The room safe was completely nonfunctional—it wouldn’t even close. I reported this to the front desk and was told it would be fixed “tomorrow.” It never was. This meant I had to carry our cash and passports with me everywhere, which was frustrating and inconvenient.
- The balcony door (the main one, with a table and two chairs) was extremely difficult to open—it took around 20 attempts each time. Even the front desk attendant struggled for two minutes to get it open. Again, he promised it would be repaired, but it never happened.
- Turning on the patio light repeatedly blew the fuse, rendering the patio useless at night. This, too, was promised to be fixed but wasn’t.
- The shower head in the second bathroom was broken and, despite reporting it, it was never repaired.
This pattern of empty promises and no follow-up became the theme of our stay. The level of service was poor and far below what you would expect for this price point. Staff, especially the young man at the front desk, seemed disinterested and unhelpful—no smiles, no sense of hospitality, no effort to make guests feel welcome.
The property itself also appeared neglected. The pool loungers had no cushions, and the breakfast was disappointing—much worse than what we experienced at hotels in Turkey that cost a quarter of the price.
I honestly don’t understand the abundance of positive reviews for this place. If you read carefully, you’ll find several negative ones that echo my experience. Four 5 star reviews were also published within 15 hours after I posted this review, which makes me strongly suspect that this hotel is somehow purchasing fake reviews artificially to boost its ratings.
For around $100–125 per night, this stay might have been acceptable. But at $400 per night, it was a major letdown.
Bottom line: I strongly recommend avoiding this property if you’re visiting Kaş. After staying here for 3 days, I don’t believe that all of the glowing 5 star reviews can be real.
