The 34 Best Athens Restaurants | Eater

"Lukumades are an easy, popular dessert throughout Greece, but this shop consistently ranks high among customers with sweet tooths. The fried dough balls are made with flour, dry yeast, water, and starch, and the simplest renditions are served with honey and cinnamon. But here you’ll find them with more than a dozen toppings, including all kinds of chocolate, nuts, and ice cream. There are also stuffed versions filled with praline, banana, or lemon cream with wild cherry. [$]" - Demetrios Ioannou

Tiny treats, massive calorie explosions 😁👍 One bite and they vanish in your mouth like magic. Must try, so tasty. Go with honey and cinnamon I would say for a more traditional taste, but its still so good with other toppings as well.

An absolute must-try in Athens! Lukumades serves up some of the best Greek desserts I’ve had — crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and generously coated with delicious toppings. I tried the ones with pistachio cream, and they were out of this world! The place is bustling, full of energy, and you can tell it’s a local favorite. The staff were friendly and efficient even with the line out the door. Everything was fresh and made to order. If you’re in Athens and craving something sweet and authentic, this spot is a winner. Don’t miss it!

Ordered the most basic flavour with honey and cinnamon. The first two bites were great, but the more I had, the more I don’t like. Feel the honey used in the store was not up to my personal taste. Haven’t tried the other flavours, they might be a better choice… the texture was great, crispy outside and kinda fluffy and chewy inside.

As good as it gets when it comes to this iconic Greek dessert. Prices were fair and the Loukoumades were made fresh to order with a variety of toppings to choose from as well. Highly recommend to give them a try.

Lukumades offers an incredible take on the classic Greek treat. Those crunchy ping pong size balls costing just under 5 euros for 10, are perfectly crunchy and delicious. While the chocolate and peanuts are a great choice, the honey and cinnamon combination is truly the most tasty and authentic. It's a perfect treat and a definite must-visit, as you'll find yourself coming back for more and more.

Very tasty! They were very busy and have a great system set up. Came out quickly. I tried the traditional honey and cinnamon and stuffed with bugatsa cream and covered in pistachio praline. So good!!

A very busy place. Luckily our wait was not very long. We tried laukaumodes with some ice cream. They were being made fresh there. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, syrupy. An experience worth trying
