Essential Guide to Visiting Tulum, Mexico

"A 19-room wellness-focused beach property tucked among tropical foliage with an intimate spa, boutique, hidden pool, and an oversized yoga shala that hosts daily classes and events overlooking the sea. The hotel offers a relaxed beach club vibe with a wood-fired pizza oven and a Baja-meets-Mediterranean restaurant, positioning itself as a quieter, wellness-minded alternative for daytime beachgoing." - Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila is a bilingual travel writer, editor, and content marketer. I don’t often leave reviews, but I truly feel like Lula’s should absolutely have a higher rating than a 4.5 on here and I felt the need to write one lol the greatest spicy margarita I have ever had & incredible flavors with every taco bite. Awesome service and setting for an impromptu date night. Will be back!

We had a wonderful dinner here! The staff is excellent. We felt so well taken care of and never had to wait for anything. It was my first time visiting and the atmosphere is great! Both the food and cocktails are great. I loved the Lula Margarita and the espresso martini. The queso is exceptional, definitely order it! The wild mushroom quesadilla was also a favorite. The portions are generous and it’s a fun spot. The cocktails are well balanced. I would highly recommend!

Staff are friendly and great! Drinks are also good here. More of a drinks place, than a dining in spot. Music is a little loud, and there's only one bathroom. Priced a little high for the food. $20 for a chicken quesadilla with chipotle dip.

First time here. Nice clean bar. We sat at the bar for a bit, and I had to call to the huddled servers to get noticed. Once she saw us, she was fantastic. We only had drinks that were good. No food ordered this time, but we will try next time we're there. I'd love to see outdoor seating here. Especially when the weather is nice!

Lula’s is fabulous and has girl power written all over it with women running things, serving and making fabulous cocktails. Delicious food with all fresh ingredients/latin flair and beautiful drinks with a little kick! Location couldn’t be better in the heart of town with shopping and County Theater steps away. Five stars!!

Google
Great food, but service was pretty dang awful. Went for lunch with only a handful of tables occupied. The server tells us they have this system where all the severs help all the tables, and to signal to them you need something you have to put up a little card. But this system clearly doesn’t work well, as it doesn’t drive any accountability for any single person. We had 4 adults and 3 kids at the table, two of the adults got food quick, the other 2 got their food— no exaggeration— 15 minutes after. One of which, had the same exact taco order! And when the order did arrive, it was incorrect. Same story with drinks. Same story with the check. Maybe it was an off day, maybe it was this clever “system” they’ve thought up. I reluctantly tipped a very small amount, but this is a rare instance where I was so tempted to leave nothing. And I believe I would have been justified in it. My recommendation: pass on this spot, plenty of other amazing restaurants in the area. I didn’t even mention the price point- very overpriced for what it is $15 for guac? No complimentary chips and salsa? Not worth it, with any luck these guys will fold and a better restaurant will take over the great location.

Stopped here on a fluke when we visited Doylestown. We had the grilled egg tacos (only during Sunday brunch) and they were amazing. We also got the chicken nachos which were super good! The drinks were very yummy! I had the watermelon basil margarita which was awesome. The place has a great vibe and is great decor and atmosphere . Also a HUGE shoutout to Owen who sat us and served us. He is exceptional!!!

This airy open trendy place is figuring it out. We were happy to find them open on a late Sunday afternoon/ early evening, when most local places were already closing up. We arrived at 4:45pm and they closed about 6pm on Sunday. They’ve been open 3 weeks so are still figuring out their service and systems. No table service. You have to get up and order at the bar. Sunday at 5pm it was busy so had to stand at the bar several minutes just to get them to take our order. Food is very good; tasty and delicious. Empanadas were awesome and $4 each. Mezze Chips and 3 dips seemed over priced at $16. Mexican Chopped salad was fresh and flavorful at $12. The food comes from a couple places across the street and is delivered to your table in take-out containers with plastic silverware. We just had water, so can’t comment on the cocktails and beer. They make several hand-crafted cocktails for around $12. Staff were friendly and helpful once we got their attention. Check this place out and support local small businesses.

Yelp
Y'all, this place has all the potential! Great, versatile food menu by Empanada Mama, and Nourish by Mama, and the cocktail list (Mexican/margarita inspired) is great. Drinks are well made. You order at the bar, and/or on phone, and the server will bring food to your table. Self seating right now. I think with the way they're making the drinks and the vibe, this place has potential to become year round, and perhaps with a slightly different seasonal menu--this place can bank.

Yelp
We only had drinks here. Margaritas were delicious. The only reason I am giving this place 4 starts, is because I didn't love the "soapy" smell inside the restaurant , but you get used to it after a little while.

Yelp
Best margaritas I've tried in Doylestown and probably the best tacos in town I've tried also Clean and modern interior with friendly staff and good atmosphere Will happily come back to try more of the menu

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is great however the food is SO expensive. I expected better quality food for the price. The margaritas were good but again I don't think I'll be returning because of how overpriced everything was.

Yelp
Fun, energetic vibe. Delicious, fresh food--but tapas sized. Pleasant staff. My friend and I were the oldest customers by far, but still felt welcome by the employees and customers. They even gave us a complementary pair of yellow Lula sunglasses. Cool!

Yelp
Margs and variations too acidic, had my share of margs, these stung. Coronas were skunked. The kitchen is kinda open so the peppers being cooked sting your eyes and throat when food is prepared. Was hyped for a hip Mexican spot. But it's not great. Would've loved to try the food but the menu is small and basic for the concept. Bucks County has very little upscale Mexican restaurants, the only one that comes to mind-is bomba in Newtown but even that is considered subpar. I will say the spot is gorgeous. Will try again and update

Yelp
first time here... food and drinks were great. Service was horrible. took forever for someone to come over. had 3 different servers. none were attentive at all. seemed like they were all clueless. they would look over and see us waiting for food, drinks, etc but would look away

Yelp
We had a lovely lunch at Lula in Doylestown today. It was our first time there. The perfect answer to a dreary, rainy day. Our server, Kenzie, was very pleasant, helpful, and prompt. She was knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions. Kenzie had a smile every time she came to our table. Lula has a pleasing, welcome decor. I will go back again.

Yelp
Since we stumbled on this brilliant eatery a couple months ago, it has quickly become one of our favorites in the area. The decor and lighting are bright and welcoming, cocktails are outstanding and the food is always delicious. My favorites are the Mezcal Old Fashioned and the Brisket Tacos - heavenly! What brings it all together is the amazing staff. Last night we took our grown children, along with five young grandchildren, there for a family celebration and the staff could not have been more kind and accommodating. They didn't bat an eye when the kids got a teeny bit rowdy and took excellent care of us. Thank you and we'll be back! (likely without the little ones next time, you might be relieved to know!)

Yelp
