"Small but sunny and conducive to productivity, Lula Rose is located on particularly busy stretch of East Colfax. The quiet coffee shop offers coffee and pastries and an urban feel." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Both of my visits to this spot have been very enjoyable and tasty. The menu isn't large, but the quality is high. The baristas/owner are always friendly, and you can tell they are loved by the community with how many people they recognize when someone walks in the door. I've enjoyed the lox and bagel both times, but make sure to go earlier so you can get the bagel type you want before they sell out. I really hope they can weather the construction on colfax because it would be a shame to lose such a local gem. Go support them and you will always get your money's worth in the quality of food, service and vibe.

Google
My favorite Denver coffee shop! The espresso is so good, the staff is friendly, and the regulars that hang out are laid back and lovely. It’s the kind of place that will serve you the best corrals you’ve ever had, and won’t shame you for ordering a vanilla latte (the best espresso also tastes good as a sweet treat) We often get beans here and every bag of Parley we’ve taken home has been great. Highly recommend stopping in, even if you have to navigate this ongoing colfax construction to get there. Believe me- it’s well worth it.

Google
I stopped in for some coffee because I've always driven by and comment how cute the place looks, but it's always after they're closed or I'm in a rush. I am glad I stopped in to see how cute this place really is instead of just eyeing it from the street! The staff is so welcoming and sweet! I ordered their Maple Cinnamon Latte with oat milk and that latte is HEAVEN!! Absolutely delicious! The space inside is so cozy and makes you want to spend more time here. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay but I'm definitely coming back! They also give you a discount if you bring your own cup in so that's an amazing BONUS!

Google
It is, in fact, a general store. Which is kind of strange for a coffee shop Their coffees are reportedly good. The breakfast burrito is allegedly one of the best around. The shop itself is a cool, wide, shallow space with seating for maybe ummmm.... 11 adult humans. There's a bathroom. The staff are pretty cool and nice. Now the quirks, of which there are several: -Many plants for sale -Sundry books for sale, including a delightful little unfortunately mildly dated Denver guide published in 2018 before the world melted down -Select sauces for sale -Alien on the télé , très Paul Reiser WAS in it! It's lovely. And strange. And hooray.

Google
Fun little coffee shop! I was greeted immediately by three friendly staff. I grabbed some drip coffee to go, which is brewed with craft-roasted coffee unique to Lula Rose. The old timey diner setting is quite charming, and makes for a great, comforting place to catch up with a friend, people watch, or catch up on the news. Get there early if you want pastries, or order a breakfast sammie. I'll be back!

Google
I love this cafe! Amazing coffee and food as well. Support this local business that has to deal with construction on colfax. The coffee is strong and delicious. staff is friendly.

Google
Busy little coffee shop with amazing coffee (and coffee art) and gorgeous flowers. Fast, hospital service. Will visit again! They serve the tastiest mochas, my favorite. Update: I’m relieved to see that Lula Rose General Store not only survived the pandemic, but the shop seems to be thriving, serving coffee and pastries in a safe, socially distanced way. I still love the taste of their mochas and the heart latte art was a lovely bonus.

Google
This place was awesome and super cute! This is a tiny little spot we just happened to stop in. The chai latte was very tasty. They have a few tables that you could work at and one long bench style seat. I would definitely come back here to try some other things next time I’m on Colfax.

Yelp
This is a cute and quant neighborhood coffee shop that gives slow town vibes. A great pit stop for someone in the morning that wants to grab and go! I would say that this is not a coffee shop where can study/work! They specifically ask that the tables are not for computer use. Great place to be in the moment with some friends while enjoying some hot coffee and breakfast items.

Yelp
BEST FOOD @ A COFFEE SHOP EVER. Adorable digs, lovely plants, coffee hits the spot. All of their sandwiches are on homemade, freshly baked focaccia bread. Everything is made to order and made with love. I got the BLT, which had thick sliced, fresh cooked bacon, freshly washed, crunchy, thinly sliced shoestring lettuce, fresh cracked pepper, heirloom tomatoes, it was quite literally the best BLT I've ever had. The team is super kind, I even had a bit too much cream in my coffee and they poured me more coffee. Everything is made with love and I will 10/10 be back.

Yelp
BEST tasting espresso in Denver, and I've tried many spots, worked with coffee for years!! It tastes incredible just as is. Not only that but, the sweetest boys work here! Such a cute and welcoming spot, I can be having the worst morning and this place will brighten my day
google avatar

Regina C.

Yelp
Decided to stop by Lula Rose before lunch and so glad we did! It is a small and quaint cafe with aromatic smells and cute aesthetic. We got a mocha cappucino and a latte! Both were so good and needed to get through the day :)
google avatar

Anmol L.

Yelp
A very cute quaint coffee shop! The place has very comfortable seating, that's good for a photo with your drink! The servers are very nice, helpful, and open in helping pick the best drink for you! I'm not the biggest coffee person, so they were able to customize the perfect pick me up.
google avatar

Kati T.

Yelp
Their seasonal lattes are always a treat. The biscuit breakfast sandwich is delicious, but be warned that the biscuit is hella salty. May find yourself speeding through that coffee beverage.
google avatar

Kylie S.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab coffee but has some quirks. It's a cool shop across the street from amazing pastries that makes a great combo for a weekend morning. I've had some of the best espresso in Denver here, when they're on, they're on. Some mornings with the hustle and bustle, things can get crazy. The one major downside is that this isn't a place to work or really sit for too long. I think I'd end up here a bit more since I think it has some of the best coffee in the area by far but need a place to knock out some to-dos.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
I really wanted to rate Lula Rose higher- and maybe I will on another visit. I'd been eyeing this cute coffee shop/plant store for years, and the sun/moon finally aligned. I came in after lunch to take a work call/meeting, and was a bit surprised when I asked for the Wifi password... guess they don't have wifi? It was awkward- I was far too late to change locations before my meeting, but also the shop is tiny and not really built for working. So I just listened to my meeting from my phone (shrug). Drink-wise, my matcha lattee was very good and the foam had a cute design! Cup wasn't anything remarkable (made me think of standard brown diner coffee cups)- so it didn't make the gram. May have to stop by another time when I'm not working to just soak in, I guess? Or just a grab and go?

Yelp
My favorite neighborhood coffee joint. Affable baristas set up the place to encourage hanging and socializing over working. Coffee hits the spot
google avatar

Julie K.

Yelp
I changed my mind. I love this place! I love the staff! I love the location! I love how easy it is to find parking! I even love the owner and land lord! This store makes a very good legit cappuccinos and drip coffee. Their breakfast bacon green burritos are crave worthy. Theres often some fun eclectic music playing and an interesting conversation going on. Did I mention I love the staff? One day my sedan got stuck on some snow and ice and a group of baristas and customers came out with shovels and helped dig my car out. Cant get that kind of neighborly kindness anywhere else! Tasty drinks and good people

Melodi W.

Yelp
I had what might have been the most amazing latte I've ever had! I don't have a picture because I drank it so fast! I ordered the maple cinnamon latte (iced) and it tasted like French toast! My friend ordered the rose cardamom cold brew- which was well balanced and smooth. Hunter was so friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
Ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. The drink was extremely sour, as if they added a slice of lemon. Totally disgusting. Will not be back.

Yelp
Amazing espresso drinks, superior to Hooked down Colfax, my go-to in City Park. And you have Good Bread across the street.

Yelp
Love the coffee but make sure you have time to go in and wait. Food is a bit over priced for the quality!

Yelp
Good breakfast sandwich, great coffee, friendly service. Have been here 2-3 times. The shop doesn't have wifi but you can also research that before you go if you're planning to bang out some work. The shop is standing room, not where I'm going to return a few emails. But they do what they should do right. For a mid-30 year old, the hipster vibe was cut with a knife with some of the best service (friendly, low-key) I've had in Denver. Plus I can walk over. Why believe me? Since college, I have worked three places as a barista. As a teacher now, I can (& do) drink coffee all day long.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
The shop is right on Colfax. Parking is best on the side streets. One man takes care of your order and food, the other man pulls your shots. I liked my espresso. Full-body, not fruity. Not sure what beans they used, but I enjoyed it! Service is great, good vibe from the crew.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
3.5/5 Love the Jersey Shore (no, not the tv show, the actual beach!) vibes that Lula Rose General Store gives off. The prices are really reasonable compared to other Denver coffee shops. We ordered a small hot coffee and an iced Americano. The regular coffee was tasty, but they put crushed ice in the iced Americano and it turned the drink into a watery mess that I found to be relatively gross and un-drinkable. I'd come back for warm drinks or if they use regular ice cubes in other iced drinks!

Yelp
Great little spot right near my house. I love walking here on a lazy weekend morning. They have an impressive food menu for the tiny space they occupy. Whenever I walk in, even if I'm just in for coffee, I always get hungry because it smells so good in there. The baristas know what they're doing and the service is always kind and quick. Important note: Lula Rose does not have wifi. It's more of a read-the-Sunday-paper kind of place than it is a crank-out-an-important-report kind of place.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is serious about coffee. And about plants/flowers. Maybe it's an unlikely combination, but it works for them. Just look at the lime tree--with actual limes growing on it. In Denver. Now that's a green thumb! If you can snag a spot to sit, you'll enjoy an excellent cup of coffee or espresso and friendly company from the staff and from the regulars. The space is simple, and there isn't a lot of room to linger. There's no wifi; they want you to talk with them instead. Ask them about coffee. Ask them about plants and flowers. They've started making their own baked goods in-house, and they are killing it. Weekend breakfast is worth a try, too. My favorite place in this neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is walking distance from my house in Congress park and had been picking beans up from here for a while but hadn't tried the drinks and food yet. Happy to have gotten that chance today! First off, the staff is so fucking cool and nice. Genuinely felt welcomed. They gave great recommendations and did not disappoint. I'm hoping to be a frequent patron here.
google avatar

Yelp
freaking incredible people!!!! incredible food!!!! punch me in the mouth great coffee!!! love this place and can't wait to come back!!! i recommend the quad shot latte and the breakfast burrito!!!
google avatar

Julia D.

Yelp
Such a cute place to stop for coffee if you're in the area! I got a chai tea and it was pretty evenly spiced/sweet. I also tasted the latte and it was great. Friendly service and cute aesthetic. 10/10 would come again!
google avatar

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS SO CUTE! I am visiting Denver and it's a bit overwhelming picking out which coffee shops to go to because there are so many but lula rose was recommended a bunch. I'm so glad we decided to go here because the shop itself is very cute, staff was very friendly and the coffee/food was great. They have oat milk (which is always a plus) and a few breakfast sandwich/burrito options. There is no place to sit inside bc it's a small shop but there's a bench outside in the front where you can sit and enjoy your coffee. If you're visiting Denver I'd say it's worth checking out!

Yelp
Lula Rose is a cute little spot I'd been wanting to try for a while before stopping in - it's a very small space with limited seating, so not the easiest to post up and relax as opposed to more 'grab and go.' When it's crowded, you wind up eating with people standing around you waiting to order, but if it's empty it definitely feels more relaxed. Their drinks are quite good, but pretty pricey - everywhere has been increasing their prices but I do think this was more so (if you want oat milk for example, it's $1.50 extra as opposed to .75/1 at many other shops). Their food seemed similarly priced high for what you get. The first time I went I got their breakfast burrito and absolutely loved it - so I came back and got it again, but this time it was soggy and the tortilla was falling apart, while the crispy potatoes were anything but (they do have a reliably great cheese:egg ratio though). It was before 10 am so I don't think it was that I just got there late, but not sure - maybe it was just an off day but I don't think I'll be rushing back to try again.
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
I have been many places in the world, and I've had many lattes in those places. And Lula Rose's latte is the best latte I've ever had. I can't say anything else about the shop because I received the latte from my daughter who carried it out, but if you want a good latte - I mean a great latte - you should go here.
google avatar

Yelp
Eclectic coffee shop with flowers and super nice breakfast offerings. Small charming space often saturated with young knowledgeable locals in the mornings. They use Middle State, Sweet Bloom, and Heart beans. They have a delicious house-made milk alternative which is handcrafted from cashews, oats, and dates! Sometimes my partner skips caffeinated beverages and orders the cashew milk over ice. It's delicious. Their crushed ice contributes to the desirability of their cold beverages. They make everything in house... their chai tea, their syrups. The simple syrup is made from raw organic cane sugar. BREAKFAST! They make toasts and croissant-based breakfasts that get you going. Tomatoes, avocado, garlic, cinnamon sugar, and poached eggs. Good selection of pastries. The group of baristas here are warm and very experienced. They're super fun to hear banter with each other about philosophy, cartoons, science fiction, and all things Lebowski.
google avatar

Francesca B.

Yelp
Really sad to leave a bad review for this place they're so nice. But I ordered a latte with cashew milk that was more watery than drip coffee, no steamed milk, no creaminess at all- honestly one of the worst lattes I've ever seen. Got a dirty chai latte also - $8 which was watery, not creamy, had no trace of espresso in it, and zero flavor. Ordered two bagels with cream cheese ($3.50 each) and opened up the bad a minute after I left to find dry bagels with barely even a tiny smear of cream cheese on them, zero flavor. So disappointed.

Yelp
With time, all things fade . . . Been over a year since my last experience at Lula Rose (home of the best coffee shop sign in Denver, if not the country:). On my way to weekend work I found myself passing by that iconic shop and decided to give them another try. Wonderfully rich and balanced latte. Selling Babette's baked goods! Super nice and friendly barristas. Neat experience. Sometimes things get better with time . . . Sign me, David "Tries to make up sayings" M.

Yelp
Just a little underwhelmed. For being advertised as a general store there wasn't much to it, some coffee and shirts for sales and that's about it. I arrived about 2.5 hours before close and all the pastries were sold out, as well. Ordered a hot chocolate and probably won't be back. It's cute and trendy from the outside but didn't really see what all the hype was about.
google avatar

Haylee A.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop. I was bummed they didn't have other offerings (don't drink coffee) but they still get 5 stars for having the absolute cutest interior and even having a cute bathroom. Like that takes skill. Also props to the barista for not thinking I was a complete psycho for coming in, taking a picture and leaving. haha I totally planned to order something but like I said, they just have coffee. He said something about them usually having pastries, so now I have a good excuse to come back!
google avatar

Benjamin H.

Yelp
black coffee was good but I guess a large is now only 12oz -- for $3.50. no pastries still, and burritos were out by 11:30 on a weekday, and you have to wait outside in line before you can find out whether anything is still available. I'd say if you're desperate for a cup of good drip and don't need much it's fine.
google avatar

Natalie N.

Yelp
Everything is so good especially the burritos and breakfast sandwiches. They sell out quick so try and get there fast to pick up a breakkie sammie. I like this place so much I'm pretty sure I poured half my paycheck into this establishment. The guys who work there are nice and I don't feel uncomfortable when I walk in. It is a small place and you only have a couple seats outside the store so it's a walk in walk out sorta deal.
google avatar

Craig Z.

Yelp
On a recent trip to Denver which was pretty heavily focused on coffee tourism, this was the best place we went to. It had been recommended by a bunch of baristas on previous trips to Denver, and did not disappoint. They have there own blend/roast, which is toll roasted by Middle State. They have a few other coffees, too, including some sweet bloom. Cold brew was good and interesting, but a little too weak before the ice even melted. Cortado was great. Nice, fun staff
google avatar

Corrie S.

Yelp
This shop has some undeniable charm. It's very eclectic, sporting a pink espresso machine and dried flowers hanging all over. It feels very one of a kind. I enjoyed the vibe a lot. It's a very instagramable spot. The shop is pretty tiny, don't expect a table all to yourself when you stop here. Instead, talk to the barista, sit at the bar for a minute. It's cozy and that adds to the charm. There's also a bar facing the street that makes for some good people watching. I enjoyed an espresso, which was pretty good! This is maybe a personal preference, but I didn't think the coffee was mind blowing, just good. It was a little acidic, like it hadn't been dialed in quite right, but the barista serving it was super personable, so that was awesome! I enjoyed checking this spot out and will be back!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
One of the best cortados I've ever had. The baristas are legit, they know what they are doing and have some nice equipment to make it all happen. It's a small, cute, unassuming coffee shop. There's no WiFi but it's a place that's meant for enjoying coffee, pastry, dessert, or a sandwich. Get the avocado egg sandwich on a croissant. They make it fresh to order.
google avatar

Douglas R.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but just wasn't able to find a reason. I walked in with my wife, and she ordered a couple drinks and a breakfast sandwich.Whoever took her order just questioned her through the entire process, asking if she wanted X instead of Y, as if she doesn't drink coffee often. It was through the entire process and it was a weird vibe. The coffee was fine, but nothing that leaves me wanting another cup unfortunately.
google avatar

Tammie W.

Yelp
Lula Rose has the best sign for their shop and is very Seinfeld-esque. Located on Colfax, it's situated on a corner and is easy to find as long as you look for the COFFEE sign. I ordered a cold brew thinking it would be strong but it was anything but that. It tasted watered down and could've steeped for another day. My husband ordered an iced vanilla latte and received a hot latte, no vanilla. Even though the order was botched, the coffee was smooth and the milk and foam were creamy and heated perfectly. I don't want to discount this place, since I think it has potential in creating a delicious product. I'll definitely go back to give them a second chance in hopes that I order correctly and we get what we ordered.
google avatar

Taylor H.

Yelp
I love the aesthetic and the baristas we're super cool. But the coffee was below average. Mine was drinkable, I got the Maple Syrup latte with oat milk and it was okay. My fiancé got a caramel latte with whole milk and it was not good. Hers was very watered down and honestly tasted like black convenient store coffee. The beans were bitter with fruity notes. Over all experience was excellent, but the product just didn't deliver.

Bethany M.

Yelp
I came here a few days ago. unfortunately they were out of their house made chai so I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk which was good. today I came back to try the chai and it's delicious! by far my favorite chai. quick and friendly service both times. can't wait to go back(:
google avatar

Roya H.

Yelp
I'm tempted to take a star off simply because this stop isn't quadruple the size with cozy spots to spend all day... or perhaps it's not my own kitchen I could call home. This spot is out of a pinterest pin. The plants at every turn. The friendly staff. The walls of windows. Also, the food. Whoa. The bagels are seriously next level. They make sandwiches with them and it honestly they are heavenly. Lastly, but not leastly, the coffee is great. Don't miss this spot if you are in Denver. It's a great one and I can't wait to get back.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot. I live in the neighborhood and Lula definitely has the best cup of coffee on the block and the staff are so friendly! I particularly love their house-made syrups and their breakfast sandwiches. Definitely check this place out if you're in City Park!
google avatar

Danting C.

Yelp
I think this is my first time to describe a coffee shop as "fun". The store itself is hard to pick out if you are not walking in the neighborhood. I swung by mid-day to get coffee and the store had only two other guests. The store had huge glass wall which made it quite hot for August weather. Otherwise I really enjoyed checking out all the decors while waiting for my latte. There were lots of plants and dried flowers in the store as well. Overall vibe of the store was very relaxed. The cashier was very friendly and my latte was definitely the best I have had in a while. Overall it was a very unique experience at the Lula Rose.

Yelp
Driving along Colfax during my recent trip to Denver, this adorable shop caught my eye, so I had to pop in and check out the new coffee shop on the scene. Though I'd imagine parking can be a bit tricky, I was able to find a spot right next to it on a street flanking Colfax. My first initial impression was the gregarious nature of the barista behind the chic bar. I ordered my coffee and perused the teeny space (seriously, it's probably the size of a cable car or single wide). I noticed a small selection of flowers, milk, and produce for purchase, and interesting knick knacks to really tie this place together. But most importantly, I noticed the bar stools looking out onto Colfax, which made me a tinge sad that I don't live in Denver anymore as I would enjoy posting up here for a morning for a solid work session. But then was happy when my delicious Americano was made super speedy and delicious!

Yelp
Lula Rose General Store is the closest non-chain coffee shop to my house, and (lucky for me) it's one of the cutest in Denver. The goal of this review is to manage some expectations when it comes to grabbing a cup of coffee here. Below is a list of things to expect/not expect, intended to set you up for optimal success in your Lula Rose experience. Things to expect at Lula Rose: -- Vibes. All of them. This quaint little shop is full of natural light, cheery yellow coffee cups, and the coolest "coffee shop" sign out front. Can you say Instagram-worthy? -- Fancy coffee. This is the kind of spot that sells $16 bags of coffee made by local hipsters. I'm into it. -- The baristas are friendly and cool, but won't always get your order 100% right. As long as they have the caffeine part correct, I'm usually good with it. -- A good bathroom (which is hard to find on Colfax, I might add). Things to NOT expect at Lula Rose: -- Inexpensive lattes made exactly the same way each time you come in (this ain't Starbucks). -- Wifi and tables to spread out and get some work done (again, not Starbucks). -- Almond or soy milk in a carton. If you're looking for a nondairy latte (I usually am), get ready to shuck out an extra buck or two for their made in house nut milk (worth it).

Yelp
This is a cool, quick and small coffee shop to stop by if you're in the area. Its conveniently located in RiNo central to meeting up with people before going out or brunch/whatever. The spot itself is pretty tiny with limited seating but I've managed to find a place to sit both times. Food/coffee: nothing special with their coffee in my opinion - it was a standard cup and exactly what I needed. They also serve food, but I didnt eat anything. The food looked interesting/good though. Overall 4/5, convenient and chill spot.
google avatar

Nicola Y.

Yelp
I wandered into the store expecting some old school coffee shop without any frills. (From far off, it looked like a gas station?!) To my surprise, I stumbled upon a super cute Instagram-approved "hipster" coffee joint. Complete with succulents for sale. As a basic millennial... I was thrilled. They pretty much just sell three types of items: coffee, baked pastries, and succulents. Oh, and there was a box of ripe peaches for sale too - very cute touch. I took a picture of my cold brew for the gram, obviously, and the barista didn't even flinch. He must end up in background pictures a LOT and be used to my kind waltzing in. Cool guy. Make sure when you take a photo of your coffee, try to catch the pink background along with the menu for the FULL AESTHETIC. Without the pink, your photo is worthless. Wootwoot.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Sometimes proximity to a place will make or break my opinion of it. If Lula Rose was within walking distance, it could have been a charming neighborhood coffee shop but instead, it was a 20-minute drive and a place has to be really special to be worth that. Though it is adorably bright and cheery inside, I just wasn't blown away by the coffee or the service.

Yelp
On my mission to find "my" weekend coffee shop this past Sunday we tried Lula Rose General Store. The location is convenient right near our house on E. Colfax and I believe there is maybe some street parking only. Decor - The place is just oozing with charm. It's decor is simple but tasteful. Coffee - We each had a regular latte. It was good not life changing though. I do look forward to returning for regular coffee because that is the real test. Eats - They also have a small selection of pastries available at "MP" which I think is silly I mean just give them a number. I thoroughly enjoyed a Ham and Gruyere Croissant . The dough was flaky and buttery and the ham and cheese were ample tucked away under the wonderful layers. My husband enjoyed something similar but instead of ham/cheese it was cinnamon and sugar. The sugar itself melted into this great sugary sweet crust that paired well with the dough itself. I'm not sure who makes the pastries but they were delightful. Overall - I will definitely return as indicated above to try the coffee.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop to get some really good coffee. I tried the iced vanilla latte. It was very well balanced, not too sweet and really smooth. I would recommend to any coffee lovers out there.
