Lula Southern Cookhouse... Let's start on a good note. The atmosphere is amazing and our server Chad was good. We arrived around 5 pm without a reservation and were sat immediately, no wait. They do have a parking lot on the side so you don't have to pay for parking. That's where the good stops. The chicken came out super quick, quicker than I believe it should have if you were frying it fresh. It also lacked any flavor, was really dry like it was cooked twice. The hot sauce was also very bland. The Mac and cheese was watered down, very liquidy, also no flavor. The mashed potatoes, although real potatoes, lacked any flavor. The biscuits with the egg wash on top were crumbly and the whipped butter was slightly sweetened but not in a good way to me. The gravy was thick and clumpy. Not smooth like a gravy should be. Chad said they are a southern kitchen so they don't care about calories, but obviously they don't care about flavor either. When I say everything lacked flavor I also mean it lacked salt. They do charge a fee if you use a credit card. But there was no auto-grat added to our check. This place is fairly overpriced for what they are offering. You definitely are paying for location over everything else. DO NOT waste your time here. Not worth the trouble.

Good food and friendly service for first-timers! My husband and I shared the alligator bites, which were very good. I ordered the smothered pork chops and he had the Salisbury steak. Both were delicious with large portions. Dessert was also enjoyable with the chocolate cake and strawberry pie. We had a great server who knew what meals to steer us towards. The restaurant is a bit noisy so keep that in mind. Due to an unexpected three dollar credit card fee added after payment we will not return. Charging customers for card use felt very tacky to us especially with so many other good restaurants that do not pass this cost on to guests.

Our other restaurant reservations didn’t work out so we tried our luck here. Lula’s was close so we checked with them and they were able to get us in after a brief wait. The service was good and the food for the most part was good. My husband got the fried chicken. It was decent however the Mac & cheese was extra salty. I had the shrimp & grits which I thought were pretty good.

The food was delicious!! I got shrimp and grits and never came up for air ☺️ until my plate was empty. The blackened catfish was sooo good 👍 😋 👌and greens💥. The atmosphere is nice, you have to go experience for yourself.

I came for lunch once… and then promptly rearranged my schedule to come back the next day. I surrendered to the fried green tomatoes first. Lightly breaded, crisp, and savory, were a sheer appetizer perfection. Then came the Carolina ham biscuits. These beauties were stacked with ham, fried eggs, and sharp cheddar in a way that felt like a culinary mic drop. On my second visit , I repeated the green tomato ritual. Then I ventured into blackened Delta catfish territory. Tender, flavorful, with that subtle swampy note at the end that plays so well with the smoky spices and andouille sausage in the rice. And then there was the Green Mary cocktail. Imagine a Bloody Mary that went to finishing school and came back with a rebellious streak. Charred green tomatoes, a spice blend that leaves a lingering warmth—this drink didn’t just complement the meal; it demanded its own special mention. My personal favorite touch? A photo of what I assume is the original owner, paired with a disclaimer to call your grandma. It’s the kind of detail that makes you feel like you’ve gotten invited into someone’s home.

Lula Southern Cookhouse was a mixed experience for us. Some dishes were better than others and showed a lot of promise, but the service was relatively slow. It may have just been an off day or a situation where they were understaffed, but everything took quite a long time from start to finish. That said, I’d probably go back to give it another try—especially to check out their brunch, which seems like it could be a highlight.

Food was alright but given the cost it could be much better! This spot shows us why there is a difference between southern cooking and soul food. The greens had stems all in em and there is no reason a Salisbury steak should be 32 dollars thats a meal designed to feed a family I dont think we needed it to be gentrified. Overall im still giving a 4 because it wasn't bad just very underwhelming.

Our waiter was great. She gave an honest assessment of the menu. The food was ok. Not quite the flavor I was looking for, but it was decent. The presentation was great. Everything tasted like it had vinegar and sugar. That’s not my preference. But the server was great.

I had a bit of a wait to order however the staff did not hesitate to make it right which I appreciate. Great ambiance and the food was solid. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Second visit pales in comparison to the first last October 2024. We were so excited to dine here with my now husband. This was our first date spot during our first visit. The food (chicken) was super salty. Our entree both had chicken as the main dish. My husbands potatoes had too much sour cream in it. If it was not sour cream it was sour. Huge disappointment as we drove 2 hours to get here.

Kiki was our server. Messed up my order and still tagged me with a $20 gratuity. Took no accountability. Eff that girl for giving me attitude too. BS! Bad experience on our first night in KC. I really hope she's a one off. I hope she wakes up in the middle of the night to go tinkle and stubs her pinky toe on the bed post. Ha!

A friend and I had a reservation at Lula's and wanted to try it out. Upon entering, the atmosphere was nice. This restaurant has mixed reviews and we decided to pay attention to the positive ones and give it a try anyway. With that being said, when the overall experience was a 5/10, we weren't really surprised, having read the not so good reviews. We walked in at 11:41am and were immediately sat at our table. The waitress came around at 11:54am and informed us that she would be with us shortly. When she came, she took our drink and my appetizer order. It took 45 minutes for her to come back and take our entree orders. My friend had the Hurricane Mocktail and Blackened Delta Catfish with greens and dirty rice. She said the catfish wasn't seasoned enough, the greens had too much vinegar and the rice tasted good it was just spicy. I had the Lula's Punch on Tap, Fried Green Tomatoes Chicken and Waffles. The drink was definitely overpowered by the smoked rosemary. It tasted off to me. The chicken was fresh but needed a bit more seasoning. The waffle wasn't too soft or too hard and it was good. Both the regular syrup and chili syrup were good. The waitress barely checked in. Overall the entire experience was a 5/10. From the lack of timely customer service to the food. I probably won't be a returning customer.

Taking in a 7:00 show at the KCRep Copaken Stage and needed a close spot for an early dinner. Made a reservation for 5:00 and got right in for a lovely dinner. Service was exceptional and Katy made excellent recommendations for drinks, app, entrees and dessert. All were fabulous - but the grilled catfish was very moist and cooked perfectly, grits were super creamy and the popcorn shrimp was lightly breaded and so tender. Also loved the special marg with the infused tequila! The restaurant is cozy and there is some free parking in a small lot north of the restaurant as well as paid parking on the street, which requires an app. We will definitely return and would love to try a brunch sometime. Also, a great spot downtown to sit at the bar to grab a drink and small bites in between downtown shopping and events.

I came here with friends for an early dinner while traveling for work in Kansas City. Our server was very kind and provided great recommendations on the menu items. We were seated very quickly. I got the fried chicken plate with a biscuit, mashed potatoes and string beans. My friend got fish with Mac and cheese and greens, and a pasta dish. The fried chicken was delicious and tasted very fresh, along with the string beans, mash potatoes and biscuit. My friend really enjoyed her fish and greens but the macaroni and cheese left more to be desired because it wasn't very cheesy. The drinks were okay and they do have happy hour specials.

I met a group of classmates from high school here for brunch. I was a little worried after looking at the menu. Although everything sounded good, there is a lot of pork used in many of the meals and so I felt limited. I decided to go with the chicken and waffles. I requested all dark meat but was given dark and white. I also ordered the chili syrup on the side. The waffle was sweet and crisp. The chicken was flavorful but I prefer the dark over the white. The chili syrup really pulled them both together. I really enjoyed it. I had a pineapple Mimosa which was ok. Our waitress/ service was great. Overall it was a good experience.

This was such a delicious way to start the new year! We have been in a few times and the food is always yummy. This is the perfect place for a comfort meal. On a weekend you will typically need a reservation and is a go to brunch spot. Such a homey feel with friendly staff. The biscuits are a must try and can't wait to come back!

I will say the food is great , definitely feels like Grandma cooking . This biscuit will fall apart in your mouth. The fried chicken is so crunchy and seasoned. Now the downside. We had ordered our food and it took over 15 min for appetizers. Than we waited 45 min for main dish. We waited so long our server came around to ask if we were ready for dessert and wasn't aware that we didn't get out food. We than had to wait another 20min to receive our food , but desert did come quick. We were first told we would be compt cause of the wait but was told only 50% would be. We paid and thanked them but just beware you might have to be one of those people to chase your server so they don't forget you. Another positive was that they played good music and comfortable seating.

We had a great Sunday brunch experience at Lula with our group of 8. Even when we added more people last-minute, the restaurant was very accommodating -- no small feat during a busy brunch service! The space is cozy, full of southern charm, and has a lively, welcoming vibe. Food: I ordered the Carolina Chopped Salad and it was outstanding -- fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and the crisp bacon was cooked just right. Honestly one of the best salads I've had. I also tried the biscuits with sausage gravy. The biscuit itself was fluffy and well-baked, but the gravy leaned salty and lacked the depth I usually expect (granted, I'm a Southerner with pretty high standards for sausage gravy!). Service: Warm, friendly, and attentive without rushing us, even with the busy brunch crowd. Bottom line: Lula Southern Cookhouse is cozy, charming, and a great spot for brunch with friends. While the sausage gravy wasn't my favorite, the salad more than made up for it -- and the hospitality sealed the deal. I'd definitely come back.

I was so disappointed this 2nd time, as I had been anticipating this lunch. The service was extremely slow and it was less busy than the 1st time we visited Lula's. The catfish was so spicy my guest was unwell within the hour. The fried chicken lacked flavor and my beans and mash were Luke warm. I'm not sure if that was due to them sitting for wait staff pickup, or the temp of the restaurant as the 4 tables in our area and the bar, all patrons had their coats on eating. After ordering a second round of cocktails we had finished our entrees before the waitress noticed and quickly crafted them herself. We prob should have stopped at the app of fried green tomatoes and our first cocktails.

Got to-go order of sausage roll with side of fresh greens. Dressing on green was light and lettuce was fresh. Sausage roll had brown mustard with peppers on it. Bread on roll was my favorite part.

Great find with Lula's! Our server was very personable and attentive! She helped us pick out items form the menu to make sure we got to the all the yummy things! The fried chicken was hot crispy and moist! The Mac and cheese was delicious!!! Loved the biscuits!

We love Lula--it's truly one of our favorite spots for southern food in KC! The atmosphere is welcoming and fun every time. My husband is obsessed with the chicken and waffles and says it's one of the best anywhere. I usually get the simple breakfast since it's gluten-friendly, but this time I tried the pork sandwich (without bread) and OMG, I loved it! Drinks here are always solid--the hibiscus cocktail is one of my personal favorites. Lula never disappoints, whether it's brunch or dinner, and we always end up planning our next visit as soon as we leave! *gluten sensitivity, usually hard to find options but not bad

Sat at the bar in the back and enjoyed amazing service Stella her drinks and absolutely way too much food so if you're coming with a group, I would lean into the option of sharing if possible. Everything was crispy, flavorful, delectable, and bountiful. Would I go back again? Yes absolutely!

Food presentation good, but very bland. Had to soak the chicken fried steak with hot sauce as the gravy had no flavor. My son got the fried chicken and had to do the same. The alligator bites were good though. For the price, I had higher expectations.

Despite having a long wait on the kitchen side, the food was delicious. Not 5 stars just because our server only came over once in the 50 minutes we waited for our appetizer.... But I will be back for the delicious food and hopefully a quicker meal time.

We visited Lula's during a volleyball tournament in April so this was a large group of volleyball moms who attended dinner. We were seated quickly and in a great area that allowed everyone to chit chat after a long day of a loud gym. Our server was the bartender as well and sometimes it can be hard for them to be attentive when having to handle two areas but our server was awesome and quick with our food and drink refills. I ordered the cornbread and gumbo, the cornbread was shared by the table and such a hit it encouraged some of our group to go back the following night for dinner. I had the gumbo and it was absolutely delicious and rich with flavor, I highly recommend it!

Came to Lula for a birthday and really enjoyed the food. It's exactly what we were looking for when trying to find Southern cooking and really hit the spot. Flavor wise, everything was spot on. The gumbo was great and slightly spicy, the shrimp and grits were delicious and the catfish was amazing as well. In terms of service, it's definitely more of a casual spot and the service reflects that. It wasn't outstanding or above and beyond, but wasn't bad either.

I stopped by Lula's Southern Cookhouse on a late Friday afternoon and loved the relaxed vibe. I had a couple of mimosas and the Cajun pasta. The pasta was good, though not as bold in flavor as I expected. Brunch is served daily until 3 PM, which is a nice perk. The staff was friendly, the food came out hot and timely, though the bar drinks took a bit longer. There's a small parking lot next to the building, and it's conveniently located on the streetcar line. I'll be back to try more of their menu items!

1 star goes to poor customer service. 2 stars overall for food....We stopped by on a Saturday night for our 730pm reservation. The restaurant was really busy and wait times were over an hour without reservation. We took this as a good sign and were eager to try!! When our table was ready, we were seated in the back near the kitchen area. Our waiter approached us and instantly we knew he was mentally checked out, and already "sitting on his couch watching tv." ...Upon his initial approach to the table we knew service was going to be bad. He was inattentive, not personable, and flat out just did not care. The food order was incorrect, we had to ask for our drinks because he forget them several times. I get it, yall were busy, you're tired, and ready to go home. At least have the decency to tell your manager you have nothing left to give and clock out... he instead continued to irrationally pranced around the restaurant as if he was employee of the month. Food: We ordered the half chicken platter. The chicken reminded us of KFC original chicken batter. I don't know if we need to take a chicken anatomy class or what lol, but the chicken pieces were very unique, very hard to describe in words. We couldn't really tell if we were eating a breast or a thigh, interesting. The flavor was good, it just left us perplexed. The sweet potatoes were different but pretty good. The biscuit had potential but was over baked and hard. Mac n cheese was just okay. We really had high hopes for this place and were super excited to try, but the poor customer service and lackluster food did not leave a good impression.

Looking for Real Southern Food--Lulu's Missed the Mark Tried Lulu Southern Food recently after reading some glowing reviews, but I walked away wondering if any of those folks have actually been to the South. The chicken was... okay. Not bad, but definitely not worth the price tag. For a place that prides itself on North Carolina roots, I was expecting real comfort food that hits deep--but this was just average at best. Nothing memorable, nothing that made me want a second bite. The atmosphere was nice, but the service was just okay, and when you pair that with underwhelming food, it's hard to justify a return trip. If anyone knows a place that actually serves true Southern comfort food--seasoned well, cooked with love, and worth the money--please drop a recommendation! I'm still looking for that spot that feels like a Southern kitchen, not just a themed restaurant.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we were thankful that Lula's was open! We were able to secure a reservation the evening before. The restaurant was beautiful and had the warm, inviting smell of Grandma's house on Thanksgiving Day. My husband and I celebrated our first Thanksgiving together at Lula's, which made it extra special. Unfortunately, the turkey, green beans, and pumpkin pie were already sold out when we arrived, and we had to wait 25-35 minutes for our meal. While the presentation was beautiful, the food was only served at room temperature, which was disappointing--especially since this was my husband's first Thanksgiving experience. Lula's punch was definitely overly saturated All in all we were thankful to be in each other's company but not so thrilled to spend $120 after tipping our server

Came in and disappointed they told me "she" no longer offers to go for this! False advertisement. I'm placing a negative review on you page and yelp. Disappointed to have come in and being told this offer isn't valid for to go after being said on their Facebook. You should delete this. Smh.

First time brunching, did make reservations do the Yelp app the evening before was seated pretty quickly nice wait staff. I had the homemade donuts along with the Cajun Smashburger the donuts were sweet but good 4 out of five the Smashburger had good flavor good portion size the fries that came with the Smashburger seasoned very well definitely a 4 out of five. My wife had classic coffee wish you loved 4 out of five and she also had the the Sausage Momuffin with grits and potatoes that she enjoyed a 4 out of five the experience was good portion sizes were good. I would definitely go back for brunch again. If you haven't been you should give them a try

This place is nicely decorated but a bit unorganized. We stopped by on a Thursday late morning almost lunch time. Empty host stand. After being seated we noticed only two waitresses juggling a few tables. The food was great but the slow service was off putting. We witnessed others tables get up to the bar top trying to pay. After taking our order only the food runner checked in and we had to stop our waitress to ask for the check. I don't want to assume it is always like this but this was our experience. Overall cute place in downtown KCMO.

We were in town for a business trip and heard this place was good so we stopped here for day one dinner. Unfortunately, I would not say it was a winner. Here's why: The meh: The service severely lacked. For a group of 11, you should either put a strong server who can handle a large group, or put a couple servers together. Our server seemed extremely overwhelmed by our group and the various dietary restrictions we had. It was found that one of the appetizers we ordered had a hair in it and when we brought it to the waiter's attention he didn't even apologize, took the dish after being only halfway eaten, and never comped us or brought us a new one. We had to request to speak with a manager who ended up comping us, but this is not the level of service we would expect especially with a group of 11 who are spending a pretty penny. Prices. Honestly the prices are outrageous for the portion sizes of the food. At almost $30 (average) per dish we were expecting enough food per dish to serve two (or one with a lot of leftovers) but the dishes (with the exception of the fried chicken) were not that substantial. Also one of our parties asked if she could have a mocktail for a mezcal drink that was on the menu and the waiter told her that they could do it but they'd have to charge her the same $15 price. Wth? I saw a couple of the other alcoholic drinks that had mocktails prices listed (still steep at $9, but more reasonable) so I'm not sure why they were unable to accommodate this request. The good: The ambiance was great. We were seated upon arrival (we had a reservation) in a lovely, private back room that was perfect for our large group. The cornbread appetizer was incredible. Can't go too wrong with a crapton of cheese and butter, but this lived up to the hype. The candied jalapeños were delicious. Highly recommend, would definitely order these again. The gumbo. While I'm not a meat or seafood eater myself, the two people in our party who got this raved about it. The peach cobbler was incredible. Even the ice cream was cobbler flavored and it tasted amazing. The fact that the server was able to split up all 11 checks individually, which was just what we needed since we were here on business. Very much appreciated. Verdict's out on if I'd come back here again. I actually enjoyed my food quite a bit, but given the steep prices I don't know.

Fantastically Delicious well cook if you are looking for for a Southern down south taste you found it here and portions are fulfilling I had the southern fried chicken w mashed potatoes potato and gravy and green bean w ham glaze and my Dessert Banana pudding this was a 2 scoop I had this order delivered I ate a real good meal today and enjoyed every bite the seasoning was expertly put together I this order delivered to me

The food was amazing. We went in for restaurant week with friends to sample all of their offerings. While everything we had was amazing. Here are the 2 standouts. The Standouts The Blueberry biscuit was so good, my only regret was that after my meal I didn't save it for dessert instead. The flavor was sublime. The Chicken and Waffles was so good. The quality of the chicken was amazing. They weren't small pieces loaded with grease, instead they were moist and perfectly seasoned. The waffle was delicious. I felt like I had blacked out and woke up and they were gone. They were that good and I devoured them that fast. Coming back for more soon!

We have been coming here since they first opened up. The food is always good, and I LOVE their hot sauce! It's made here... the location is good and there is decent parking all around the block. We have never had bad service yet. We are here for the Thanksgiving meal and brought a friend. My only complaint this year is that they have a new rule of no to-go boxes. Not cool!!!

It's a decent southern restaurant with a charming atmosphere. We love the North Carolina-themed menus. Turns out one of the owners is from NC so the menu was a nod to his NC roots. Service could've been better. We waited a bit for our order and we asked about it and our server appeared annoyed. The blackened catfish was well-seasoned but heavily salted. Same for the dirty rice. The collard greens were phenomenal. I recommend the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was moist and crispy. We never had rice waffles before so we were glad to try it. Also delicious housemade biscuits!

We were in the mood for Southern Comfort Food and found Lulu Southern Cookhouse to satisfy our appetite. Lulu's had a beautiful comforting environment with soft music, low lighting in the evening, a patio, large windows, brick walls, wooden ceilings and flooring. Although the tables are next to each other, we felt that we had enough space and was not crammed. I reserved through their portal on their website and when we showed up, our table was ready and we were quickly seated. Our waiter was polite and we had a good discussion about the city and activities. The menu had a good variety of Southern Food and our food started arriving 10-15 minutes after ordering. Our favorite was the Okra, Cheese Curds & Spam because of its tangy sweetness and how well combined the ingredients just felt like fireworks in our mouth. Their Gumbo was good but I've had homemade gumbo and it doesn't compare. Their Chicken Fried Steak was probably my least favorite of the dishes we ordered because I've just had better elsewhere. The fried chicken and the biscuits were very good. The level of service was low and slow. The hosts were the friendliest but the server and management terrible. They weren't super busy but everything took long we were there for 2 hours and majority of that was spent waiting on the server to come to the table or to bring the check etc. We ordered biscuits to go when we paid and waited 30 mins for 2 biscuits to be brought to the table. As someone who has worked in the industry it was just unacceptable. We will not be back.

Great drinks, even better food and good atmosphere. The serving size was enough for lunch and dinner. I would highly recommend trying the chicken and waffles.

What an amazing experience. I love the decor and the vibes in this place. I felt like I was at my meemaw's house with all the southern decor. The service was nice, friendly, and knowledgeable since it was my first time. I ordered their southern fried chicken and a sweeten peach tea. Amazed at the crunch on the chicken. The chicken was a bit saltier but paired well with the mashed potatoes and bacon green beans. I would love to come back for dinner sometime.

This was my second visit to Lulas Southern Cookhouse, and it was just as good as the first. We went around 11 on a Wednesday, so it was technically lunch, but the menu still had a lot of brunch options, which I was glad to see. I had called ahead to ask if I could bring my pug Mojo, and the manager said it was pet friendly. When we got there, the host seemed unsure and said only service dogs were allowed, which was a little confusing. But based on what I was told earlier, service dogs are allowed inside and any dog is fine on the patio. We ended up sitting outside, and everything worked out fine. I ordered the Cajun Smash Burger with a sweet tea, and she had the Cajun Pasta. Both dishes were full of flavor and came out quickly. We also grabbed a banana pudding to go, just like last time. It is still one of the best desserts I have had in KC. Even with the bit of confusion at the start, the food and vibe made up for it. Lulas has definitely earned a spot on my regular list.

Lula Southern cookhouse does a phenomenal job of bringing southern cooking and a taste of creole cooking together for a delicious marriage of flavors that will bring you back to your grandmother's cooking. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Our waitress was very helpful with recommendations as this was our first time here. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, peel and eat shrimp, and deviled eggs as the appetizer which were all three perfection. Each person at our table ordered something different and let me tell you. It was all delicious. I love that they have such a wide variety. Seafood, chicken, steak, and a selection of sides to go along. Very juicy tender fried chicken and flavorful green beans with bacon. The masked potatoes had a great chicken gumbo gravy on them. Their biscuits are soft and delicious with a hint of honey. We were so full that we didn't get dessert but plan to come back because it all looked amazing! The vibe is grandmas house for a Sunday dinner. Great for happy hour, date night or a special occasion!

Very disappointing...celebrating 2 birthdays and noted in reservation, but never mentioned, charged full price for happy hour drinks and appetizer, fried chicken was overcooked and dry, biscuits so hard couldn't eat, green beans way overcooked and mushy, (seemed like most of the food was not fresh, reheated days old). Don't waste your time or money, we won't be going back.

We dined in a party of ten; the service was great, and the surroundings "fun." Everyone at the table had a different meal - and most everyone was very happy with their choices. The menu had a wide variety of dishes - very well plated! Drink menu also had variety - pleasing both the eye and the palates. Nothing was really 'wrong' per se, however I felt that some items were on the pricier side (i.e. $13 for a small bowl of soup? While the Vedalia Onion Bisque was quite good...I guess maybe I don't know what was so special that it was the price of an entree elsewhere?) Prices are all listed on menu, so there are no surprises!

Do not miss this place. Amazing atmosphere, great service, and the food was outstanding. If you're in downtown KC, stay away from the power and light district and come to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. If you are, it's probably your fault.

Lulas was great! I'm sad to say I failed to get a picture of the best thing we tried, the fried green tomatoes! They are a must!! The fried chicken was crisp and juicy! I felt like it could have had more flavor but that could have been a personal preference! I'm from the south and just visiting so my fried chicken bar is high! My friend liked the shrimp and grits as well! The vibe here is interesting. I felt it could have been a little warmer but our server was very friendly!! Would definitely recommend!

Rude lunch service. My daughter and I came in after a long day of travel. We walked in and waited at the hostess stand for a good 5 minutes (no one else was waiting) and a waitress walked up and said "Go stand by the bar we are busy right now." We stand near the bar and wait, no greeting, no hello, just "we are busy," it was very bizarre, especially when the dining room was maybe a little more than half capacity. We waited for another 10 minutes until another server approached us and seated us. Once we were seated, we waited around 15 minutes with no staff greeting. The first waitress we first interacted with walked by and I asked if anyone could grab our drink order or fill up our water glasses. Her response was "I told you earlier we are busy, you'll have to wait!" And walked away. It was insulting and unwelcoming. If we hadn't been hungry, tired, and on a time crunch, we would have left and found another spot to have lunch. Once we were serviced, it felt like we were a nuisance and not wanted (the other waitress with dark brown hair was much friendlier but still not very welcoming either) the rude waitress that had absolutely no business in the service industry has long think brown/auburn wavy hair with pink dramatic eyeliner, high ponytail, and on the bigger side (no name tag) Our lunch service was on Thursday 12/18 around 12:30-1pm. The food was very good, not sure we will be back again because of the treatment we encountered, but we loved the meal itself. I do plan to call the manager.

My friends and I went to Lula's for brunch, and we had a fantastic experience. Even though we didn't have a reservation, the wait was manageable. Our waitress was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and packed with flavor. Plus, the drinks were excellent and had a nice kick to them!

I the nose test was excellent because as I walked in the door the aroma made me smile- I felt welcome and at home- the place was bustling as folks eat brunch! Music was just loud enough to have a good conversation or groove! I will be back!

Very cute place clean and spacious. Ordered the onion bisque and chicken dumplings. Both very delicious. Don't be in hurry the food did take a while to get served. The service was ok they had training going on. Would return to try something else.

I love anything chicken especially fried. They fry it too perfect. Everything about their food is wonderful. I've been here about 3 times now! lol the restaurant is such a cute and cozy seating area. Service was good as always

Ambiance 8/10 Service 9/10 Food 15/10 I think you can see that I really loved this place!!!! We went for my friend's birthday. The menu is jammed packed full of delicious options, so much so that we settled for girl dinner: All Apps! It also helps that they have a deal this summer that every Thursday it's Happy Hour all day, which makes the apps 20% off. The spread: Crispy Fried Pork Spare Ribs, New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, Triple Dips, Muffaletta Deviled Eggs, Crispy Okra & Cheese Curds. Ham Glazed Green Beans and Brown Sugar Sweet Potatoes. And a shared order of the Gumbo! Wow! The flavors that these dishes packed!? So good. The shrimps had a kick, the dips were complex and sweet potatoes were stellar. But the star was the green beans! We also splurged for dessert: Ice Box Pie, Pig Pickin' Cake and Pecan Pie Cookies. So delicious, each one brought something to the menu! I can't wait to go back.

Not a very satisfactory Black Friday dinner. First, we were seated at a table with leftovers. We complained it to the server twice before she finally cleaned the table for us. Good thing was that the food came in a reasonable amount of time and the vibe was good. However, food itself was quite normal. The delta catfish had too much seasoning. The green beans had at least 1/3 bowl of ham, not just "ham-glazed" as what the menu said. My friend thought her gumbo had too little rice, and it would be better to have some slices of bread for the soup.
