The Best Restaurants and Bars in Reno, Nevada | Eater Vegas

"LuLou’s has been a Reno favorite for more than 25 years, although you’d never know it due to a stylish, contemporary dining room that’s decorated with local artwork and comes alive with the energy of an open kitchen. The restaurant keeps a low profile with a minimal online presence — even the servers are low-tech, writing orders by hand. But LuLou’s helped kick off the Midtown dining boom, operating on word of mouth and a trusted reputation that earned chef and owner Troy Cannan a James Beard Award nomination in 2022. The menu changes frequently, based on an appetite for experimentation and the seasonality of ingredients. Don’t be surprised to see creative mashups like an escargot-style presentation with lobster in place of snails or a creamy asparagus soup with a skewer of sweetbreads on the side. There’s almost always some form of foie gras and ceviche on the menu, but a big part of LuLou’s success is drawing regulars for repeat visits to see what’s new." - Rob Kachelriess

My friend and I both loved this place. The food was so good. We shared, ceviche, the warm goat cheese, seared foie gras, pork buns, and the scallops. Everything was really good, but surprisingly, I think the warm goat cheese was my favorite dish. The cocktails and the service were both good as well. The price was totally worth it.

Had an absolutely incredible meal here with some friends. Everything we ordered was on point with bold flavors and great execution. We had multiple appetizers and all four entrees were amazing. I could not recommend a restaurant more. By far the best food in Reno, and best upscale restaurant. The woman who took our drink order before we were sat at our table was a little rude but I would gladly come back.

Google
Service is good, the atmosphere is nice for a quiet romantic dinner. Unfortunately the food was very lacking. For such an expensive restaurant you'd expect more. We had the escargot style lobster, calamari with Thai citrus glaze, pork buns, paella, and ribeye. Aside from the pork buns, everything was very over salted. Overall flavors were interesting but ruined due to the amount of salt. Definitely would not give the place another chance, over priced salt licks that left little positive impact. I can't even remember what desserts we had. An extremely disappointing visit.

Google
Expensive but worth it for special occasions . The food is amazing , the decor is cute and the place is rather small but makes it feel Intimate. Expect to pay about 40 to 50 for main dishes , 15 to 20 for small plates and starters and bottles of wine between 50 and 200 . Came here for Christmas eve dinner . There’s no way to book a reservation online , you have to call in . Service was great .

Google
Reno has a true gem in the heart of midtown. There's a reason it's been here for 25 yrs and I could see that evident in the delicious and creative dishes on their menu. I really had a hard time deciding what to order because I wanted to try it all. The yellowtail app was very well balanced with a nice bit of heat, and the tomato salad had some of the juciest tomatoes I've ever had. The duck breast came 2 ways, both excellent and perfectly cooked. Though I was a bit jealous of my partners Halibut because the broth was so good. Everyone was very friendly, attentive, and professional and we had an excellent date night. I definitely look forward to returning to try some of the other tasty sounding dishes.

Google
The food was AMAZING. Pricey, but so worth it. The staff was super friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. The atmosphere was wonderful, it was packed when we went but I never felt like I had to talk over anyone even though the tables were sort of close together. The Mason jar cheesecake was TO DIE FOR. Everything came out cooked to perfection and in a timely manner. The lobster spaghetti came out with a whole damn lobster!

Google
Impeccable service. My food favorites were the Thai duck soup, cheese ravioli (special), short rib, and butterscotch pudding.

The ceviche and chopped salad were delicious! I'd been meaning to try Lulou's for some time now and was impressed! I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
My second time visiting LuLou's and was excited to be here again. Tried a different option this time, instead of the dining room, we sat at the bar this time and ate. A little less fancy but service was impeccable. Quincy, our bartender and server was phenomenal and was very friendly Offering her opinions and helping us along the way with menu suggestions and small talk. She appears to be a very deft mixologist and I enjoyed watching her mix up libations for as as well as the dining room guests. We started off with the lump crab skillet cake. This was not a cake at all. It was a hot skillet of creamy and chunky lump crab with perfectly toasted and oiled sourdough bread. Absolutely delish! Our next trial was the Foie Gras two ways. I'm not a huge Foie gras guy but the person who I was dining with is, and she said it was very good. I thought it was tasty but its, just not my favorite dish. We also ordered the deep fried goats cheese. This dish comes with a spring mix salad and roasted beets along with toasted sourdough. Very large portion and very tasty. For the entree I had the pan seared tilefish. I've had tilefish in the past and I am a big fan. This dish did not disappoint. Laid upon fresh peas and a sauce that was similar to a green mole but without any spice or heat, the different flavors danced together like a party in your mouth. my host ordered the spicy duck soup and was pleasantly surprised. This was not too spicy but also had a depth of flavor that was satisfying with a coconut finish. Overall, for my second time being at this establishment, I was quite pleased with my experience. I will be returning and can give this restaurant my highest recommendation.

Yelp
I really was looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience compared to others. The ambiance was a bit weird for me, a bunch of servers just standing around by the kitchen and the music just didn't match the vibes. Which is fine, just a personal opinion, since this is supposed to be considered "fine dining". The lamb was okay, it didn't quite have a sear on it, and I'm pretty sure it was missing a sauce or chimichurri because it was pretty bland. The fries were the best tasting thing we ordered. The complimentary bread was very dry and so salty. The biggest let down was the service. When we asked for our food to be packaged to go, the server started cleaning up our table, and he stacked our dirty plates onto our plates with food on it. Then he continued to pick up fries that had fallen onto our table, and put it with our leftover food. (I did not want dirty fries in my leftover box, but sure enough it was packaged in there). Also, the server ended up picking up a dirty fry that fell on the floor, and put it on our plates with our to go food! Completely unsanitary in my opinion and just not a good image, to be stacking dirty plates on my to go food, and also dirty food from the floor, on my plate with my food? Disgusting. When you pay this much money, you expect real fine dining. I wasn't impressed with anything, and service was a huge let down for a "fancy restaurant".

Yelp
This is our go to in Reno/Sparks for special occasions. However, this was our first time dining on the patio. We started off with a the jalapeño bread, washing it down with a sip of our Malbec. Followed by the crab cake skillet, so good! The entrees were a Chili short rib and salmon with Thai green curry. Per usual everything tasted amazing and service was fantastic! The patio seating was as close to perfect as you can get next to a busy intersection. The plants helped block the sight of traffic, and along with the building helped to block any wind or sunshine. Thank you to everyone for making our special night, feel that much more special!

Yelp
Best cuisine in Reno. The menu is so interesting and service impeccable. Their charred octopus is amazing and their ribbon fries addictive.

Yelp
Late to post but celebrated my partner and I's 5 year anniversary and it could not have been better. Welcomed from the beginning with the owner herself, Colleen, to greet and congratulate us for our anniversary. Seated next to the window and the room was at a good volume of conversations since the room was full on a Saturday night. Our server was very attentive, took our drinks (mule and old fashion, as well as the appetizer, pork buns (5/5) thick piece of pork belly that was beautifully cooked with pickled cucumbers that were seasoned so well my tastebuds did a double take. My partner ordered the salmon and I the steak and both enjoyed our meal with a great conversation reflecting our time together. The steak came with frites and you can tell it's made from scratch from each piece being different from each other and how thin and crispy each bite was. A great company for my steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. My partner enjoyed her salmon with the curry sauce asparagus and grilled rice cake. Everything to taste was amazing. I recommend Lulou's to everyone who is celebrating, showing family or friends from out of town, or just a nice evening out. The open kitchen concept is always spectacular to watch as the chefs prepare each dish.

Yelp
Everything about dining at LuLou's fantastic. Their customer service is outstanding from the first phone call to set a reservation, their special touches with the customized menu is really sweet. The meal is beyond fantastic. Everything we had absolutely blew us away. The menu is fantastic and has a ton of diverse options. I have been eyeing the grilled octopus (thanks other yelpers for the photos) and finally got to try it and it was FANTASTIC. My Husband has tried octopus a half dozen other times and has never liked it, but he LOVED this one. Every dish had unexpected little pops of flavor that just took the dish to a whole other level. The ambiance is really nice, although a bit noisy when the place is full. I love the open kitchen concept to be able to peek in. We'll be back for the next special occasion dinner.

Yelp
Just wow! Hands down the best meal I've had in Reno. We've been wanting to come for a long time, so we ordered lots. Starters were all divine, octopus, mushroom salad and foie gras. (If they were open for lunch I'd come and get the octopus and mushrooms once a week) For our mains I had the lobster spaghetti and my husband had the ribeye which comes with the most delicious fries, thin and perfectly seasoned. My husbands ribeye was perfectly cooked. The service was impeccable; everyone was kind and very knowledgeable. The food was served in a timely matter that never left us feeling rushed. Truly an unforgettable meal. We can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This has become our new favorite restaurant in Reno. The cocktails were delicious. The wine list is excellent. The pan crab cake was delicious. The apple salad was delicious. The scallops were delicious. The rum roasted pineapple was delicious. I didn't take any pictures because I was lost in the deliciousness of the food. The presentation was artistic. The service was perfectly timed. The ambiance was swanky and cozy. It was an expensive night out and worth every penny.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try this place for a while now because of the reviews. With the high price (for Reno) and the reviews, we expected a lot from it, but overall it was just okay. But as always, these are just our personal preferences.

Yelp
wonderful service, amazing food, just devine Very nice atmosphere friendly. My new favorite restaurant!

Yelp
We came here for a business dinner. I was amazed at the service and the quality of the food. I ordered the savory ribeye steak. We also had the octopus appetizer. Their jalapeño bread is excellent. I had a caramel pudding that melted in my mouth. It's pricey but worth the visit. They are only open for limited hours, maybe they should consider expanding their hours

Yelp
Service was impeccable, the food was solid, tables a little too close together but definitely an enjoyable evening.

Yelp
LuLou's is officially my favorite restaurant in Reno. Always the best food and service.

Yelp
Great place for a quiet and classy date night. The menu is relatively small but unique. The service was excellent. It is a pricey restaurant and the servings are small but the drinks are strong. I particularly liked the Spicy Thai duck soup, though I do think that the name is a misnomer as it was not very spicy.

True V.

Yelp
This restaurant has great foods, but one of their servers name Linda Mills has police record for stealing money from her ex employer in LA and been to jail ( why this restaurant did not check ) This lady scamed me out of $4000 on WhatsApp

Yelp
This restaurant makes me feel like I'm in NYC. It's just a richly beautiful restaurant and the menu is terrific. Everything is plated so beautifully and the squid ink pasta w/Lobster is otherworldly. This is the kind of dinner experience that you want to go on and on and on. They really cater to you here and you leave feeling satisfied having had a very special night out. Wait staff is on their game and they do a great job adding to this special experience.

Yelp
Lulou's never disappoints you are going to pay but it is definitely worth it. As you can see the appetizers below. I had the Ribeye which was rich with flavor and melted in my mouth. They had some fun craft cocktails we had before dinner that excellent Staff was great as always, the place was busy as always you see a lot of people you know when you go there. I have to mention that the mushroom soup I had that night was out of this world. Nice romantic place to go, be we had some friends that just moved to Reno so we are on a mission to show them all our favorite spots. This is one at the top of the list.

Yelp
New to town from the Bay Area and my wife and I love good food, this is a top ten restaurant in Reno. Highly recommend a reservation but definitely go here. Be patient as they can choose when they open but worth it

Yelp
Went here to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday. We started with the charred octopus and baked lobster. Both were very good. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The baked lobster was flavorful. They do serve a piece of warm jalapeño cornbread to start for each person. I had the salmon, and it was very moist and cooked just the way I like it. My husband had the paella it was good, but we have had better. My daughter had the halibut, and her friend had the scallops, both were good. The presentation was beautiful. The restaurant is small inside, we were in a corner, and it felt very private. The service was good. We ordered three desserts to share, an apple cake, butterscotch pudding, and a sticky toffee dessert. The butterscotch and toffee desserts were very good. The apple dessert was good. Restaurant is pricey and the food is good. It was a special occasion. I would come back for another special occasion.

Yelp
I have no idea why it took me so long to discover Lulou's. In the fine dining category, it is one of the two best in Reno, hands down. We went to celebrate our anniversary. When I made the reservation they asked about special occasions, and I told them - they made menus with a personalized happy anniversary message printed on the top and then rolled them and tied them with a ribbon when we left. The food was spectacular - the menu has a variety of food, and it was hard to choose. My wife had the calamari appetizer - the only fault there was was that it was too large and we had to take some home - and the duck which was a combination of duck breast and confit made up as a croquette. I had foie gras as my app and it was perfect, and then had paella for my entree, and it was as good as any paella I've had in Spain, better than most. Grilled quail was a different touch and was delicious, and the seafood was great as well. Most surprisingly it was a perfect-size serving rather than the usual huge pan. For dessert I had chocolate pot de crème and she had an English toffee dessert - both were excellent. The wine list is not the usual encyclopedia, but a carefully curated selection including lots I hadn't heard of before. Our server, Sam, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and also, surprisingly, about the wines. His service was friendly and impeccable. It's not the place to go for a cheap date - granted we splurged given the occasion, and the bill with tip was in the $400 range and worth it for a great celebration evening.

Yelp
Went here for dinner and everything was top notch. From the service, to the food, to the experience. We had drinks at the bar before we weee seated at our table. The bartender was very attentive and the drinks were delicious. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
Lulou's is another place I will take folks to show the quality of Reno's food scene. The food was excellent. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The joint is not large, and feels comfortably intimate, at least during our visit. After one trip has vaulted into my top 3 here in Reno!

Yelp
Went there for a business dinner. Love the ambience, very reminiscent of some of the neighborhood restaurants I've eaten at in NOLA. Morleigh was our server and she is very sweet and patient. Being gluten-free there aren't too many offerings on the menu. I opted for the three hummus appetizer with veggies and red beans and rice with andouille sausage for my main course accompanied with a tasty Pom-fizz (a bit on the sweet side). All were delicious. Since there is no gf dessert offerings, I ended my night with a delicious espresso martini. I would return here again.

Yelp
I think that Lulou's is one of those restaurants that is "old-school Reno"... pre-hipster, before Midtown was cool... one of those places that is cemented in the Reno food scene because it's been serving delicious food before the foodies arrived. Unfortunately, though we had a delicious meal here this past Saturday, we can't vouch for the service, and that's a big point for me. The vibe is modern - bright space, high ceilings, and an open kitchen makes the place feel very chic. Many staff members on the floor give the appearance that you will receive excellent service; however, many of those people are there to host or refill waters. Needless to say, we stayed very hydrated during our visit! We couldn't seem to pin down our server to order another cocktail, even though he was doing circles around our table to greet the others. Besides that, we really loved the food, with just a few minor exceptions. The biscuits that they served before the meal were reminiscent of Red Lobsters biscuits, just homemade. They were fluffy and dreamy, just missing that hit of salt to bring the all flavors out. Our appetizer was the octopus - sooo good! As perfectly cooked as octopus could be, rubbed with a slightly spicy marinade and served with baby potatoes. That dish was gone soon after it arrived! The paella entree was my favorite of the two - perfectly seasoned and featuring little jewels embedded throughout, like shrimp, andoille, and wonderfully charred quail. I would've loved more of the crusty bits of rice (soccarat, I think?) but it was tasty either way. The duck was also cooked to perfection - that breast though! The sauce reminded me of Thanksgiving in the best way possible. Such a warming dish. The only part that I couldn't eat were the peas - they were hard and flavorless, though the accompanying pea puree was bright and sweet and delicious. Overall, this may be an issue of expectation vs reality - we had heard great things, and because we were let down while there to celebrate a special occasion, it really missed the mark for me. I hope the staffing can get worked out so this beautiful restaurant can live up to its great reputation.

Yelp
Hands down Lulou's is THE best restaurant in Reno/Sparks for a high end dining experience. Is it a Michelin star level? I cannot say. But I have been to all of the other "Fancy" restaurants in Reno and this one takes the cake. There are handful of other great fancy restaurants that may come to mind, but I still have to insist that they are either too casual or the menu is lacking the creativity that I expect in the highest end restaurants in a city. Enough qualification...let's get into the nitty gritty. It was our 22nd Anniversary and we called on a Sunday for a Thursday Reservation. We didn't want to take the chance on showing up to a restaurant with no empty tables for our celebration. We got a call back on Tuesday saying they have made the reservation and asked for the spelling of my wife's name. We arrived at exactly 6:00 for our 6:00 reservation and were seated promptly. They even took my wife's coat so we didn't have to hang it on the back of a chair. As I entered I realized just how wrong my expectations of the space had been. The outside of the building gives a very minimalist industrial vibe. On the inside however there is a great amount of exposed brick and some expertly executed design choices that gives the space a "warmth" of human occupancy. The light coming in from the large windows was well regulated through the evening, making sure nothing was too intense while the sun set over our shoulders. Having some seasonal allergies pounding me all night I had to make a few pitstops to the restroom. A truly fancy pants restaurant bathroom. Frosted glass walls gives the impression of openness and connection to the rest of the building, but also gives 100 privacy for everything you are doing. I didn't go further than our table or the restroom so I am not sure about the rest of the space but from our perspective it seemed that someone extremely skilled in design had a hand in everything. Nothing in the restaurant seems happenstance or dictated by cost or convenience, but deliberately chosen to make the customers experience begin right at the door. When we were handed the menu for the evening, my wife, in a pleasantly surprised tone, pointed out that our names were at the top of the menu. What a special treat to make a celebration feel even more special. The menu is full of delicious choices. So many we actually over-ordered! I realized that with 3 courses of appetizers we would definitely not get through a main course and would have to skip dessert. Who wants to skip dessert on their anniversary? Not me! So I decided to cancel the main dish and hope it will be here the next time. Our first appetizer course consisted of the Shrimp Chile Relleno and the Hamachi Ceviche. Both were delicious. I was surprised on just how spicy and flavorful the Shrimp Chile Relleno was with the little dots of tobiko and fresh cilantro. The Hamachi Ceviche wasn't spicy but was a good counter to the boldness of the other dish. We had chosen a Pinot Noir from Familie Friedrich Becker at the suggestion of our waiter Austin, it was light and dry with still a enough body to compliment most of the dishes we had ordered. Our next course was the Mozzarella Di Buffala and Steak Tartare. The earthiness of the white asparagus and mint pesto was so satisfying. The steak tartare exactly on point and really made the wine come alive. The next course was the rich Seared Foie Gras and the Lump Crab Skillet Cake. The Lump Crab was more of a dip. Both dishes were obviously super rich and so very satisfying. It will be hard to pass any of these choices up if they are on the menu when I return. Our dessert course consisted of their Black Bottom Butterscotch pudding and a mini banana cream tart and we shared a single Armagnac. The Armagnac paired insanely well with the banana tart and I would be hard pressed to find a better dessert item than the Black Bottom Butterscotch pudding. A perfect balance of sweetness and depth of flavor. Nothing wows me more than a complex and delightful dessert. The service for our intimate table was impeccable. Not too intrusive but I never needed to ask for a thing all evening. The pacing was perfect for each dish. Nothing landed before it was wanted and the table was never empty for a noticeable amount of time. Austin and the other support staff were undeniably great at their jobs. My only disappointment for the evening was not having tried one of the cocktails they offer. Everyone came out with excellent presentation I almost had a little FOMO but I just reminded myself that we will come back soon with friends. Lulou's is a place to save up for. To look forward to.

Yelp
The food at Lulou's is hands down the best in Reno. The service is decidedly not. I made reservations for four on a Friday at 7. I called on Tuesday and received a call back Wednesday confirming my reservation. I asked about vegetarian options as there is nothing on the web that lets you know exactly what was on the menu and all the pictures on here showed menus without veggie options. I was told the chef could accommodate a vegetarian. We arrived promptly at 7 after having cocktails down the street. We were seated at table around the corner from the main dining room in a space that was less cute but quieter. The menu listed no vegetarian options so i asked the server what there was and he said it was dealers choice. He then demanded our order for drinks or food to which we responded we needed a few more minutes. He came back 5 min later and we tried to put in appetizers to stave him off but we're understandably told the would course it out. He left in a huff that we were not ordering food or drink yet. We ultimately ordered the Chile relleno, little gems salad and chopped salad to share. We ordered the lobster mafaldine, paella, antellope, and short ribs. Everything was exquisitely done. The flavors showcased the highest quality ingredients and everyone was delighted to take bites of each other's food. Honestly the food was so incredible we almost forgot how awful the server was. The dessert menu had a little something for everyone. Normally I skip dessert in favor of more savory dishes but butterscotch pudding is my Achilles heel. Delicious! All in all the food is amazing. You're paying for what you get. If you want a cheap meal, this is not you spot. I will say, normally when paying fine dining prices I want fine dining service and we did not get that. The server was surly, unhelpful, and continuously tried to upsell us on wine. We all have bad days, I get it, so while tempted to subtract a star i am not going to.

Yelp
My boyfriend has always wanted to try Lulou's Restaurant. So, about a month prior to his birthday, I made a reservation. I had to call and leave a message but someone got back to me within I think 2 business days. We got all gussied up and made our way there. There is a parking lot near the building but it had very few spaces. We ended up parking on Holcomb Avenue, just behind the restaurant. It was a short walk and there seemed to be way more parking options. We were sat immediately and provided menus. We started with the warm goat cheese / pistachio crust / intimidating greens / beets / sherry vinaigrette salad. This was delicious! We opted to split the salad, unsure of how much food it could be. The beets were so flavorful, as were the greens. The goat cheese was very good. I think there was just a touch too much char on the bread. For my entree, I ordered the C.A.B Prime Grade Ribeye / crispy garlic butter / skinny fries. O-M-G!! The ribeye was fantastic with the crispy garlic butter. It was cooked to perfection and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. I think it also came with an eggplant slice or mushroom slice, I can't quite remember. The skinny fries were skinny, crispy, salty goodness! I ate the whole basket without any qualms... they were 100% worth every calorie. My boyfriend got the Antelope "Rossini" / winter chanterelles / truffles / foie gras butter for his entree. The meat was very lean but he found it was balanced by the foie gras butter. He enjoyed the mouthfeel. For dessert, he ended up getting the butterscotch pudding with "black bottom". When we asked what that meant, turns out there was a brownie under all the butterscotch. I'm not a butterscotch lover so he got to enjoy his birthday dessert mostly to himself. We really enjoyed our meal at Lulou's. Their steaks are by far the best we've had in town. We had just gotten back from a trip to France and I would say it was a meal that reminded me of all the delectable things we ate there. I can't wait to go back to Lulou's!

Yelp
Our dining experience was a very mixed bag; but only 3 stars for the entrees. We ordered the short ribs and the scallops. The short rib had a small area of tenderness the rest was tough and stringy, the noodles were pan fried hard and chewy but the flavor was good. The scallops were average, not soft and tender, the risotto was too tangy with a citrus lemon flavor. The service was 5 stars, great. The lobster escargot was great. The pork belly bun was average. The cheddar jalepeno biscuit was delicious. The price for what was served was over priced. We don't mind spending more for a great dining experience but this was a mixed bag....disappointed. It cost us $275 for 3 drinks, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in the area. It's always a culinary explosion of flavors and presentation.

Yelp
What an amazing dinner! This was my first time here but my family frequents this restaurant..so when I came home to visit they knew where to take me! We started with the hamachi ceviche and the Chile rellano. Both were so good and so different. The hamachi just melted in your mouth, whereas the rellano was spicy (in a good way) with sweet tempura shrimp! Both delicious...almost got another order of the hamachi. Three of us got the warm goat cheese salad and I got the asparagus bisque for soup/salads. The salad was to die for..soup was good but could've used a little salt! For entrees, we got the ahi tuna, lobster spaghetti, ribeye, and scallops! Everything was absolutely amazing but the lobster was my favorite (and luckily my entree)! The fries with the ribeye were so addicting! We got three desserts lol...the cloud, the chocolate tart, and the pineapple ice cream. All great! Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
The perfect intimate date night spot in the midtown area. Went here with a friend and we sat in the bar area without a reservation. The staff was very friendly, and took their time explaining the menu. We will be back! Pictured: Salmon w/ bokchoy, rice cake, and extra goodies.

Yelp
Amazing food just very expensive. Worth it for special occasions! Love it! Make reservations.

Yelp
This was one the best dinners I've had in a long time. The Sancerre wine was good. The ribeye was delicious and well cooked. The fries were thin and crispy which is how I like them. The lobster spaghetti was amazing. The spaghetti had a great flavor and the lobster went well with the spaghetti and the sauce. I definitely would recommend the lobster spaghetti and since it was delicious and somewhat of a unique dish.

Yelp
Atmosphere : when we walked in it smelled like old fish or crab that was frozen and thawed. Ripe & hot. Air conditioning was low or not on it was 98* outside. Our table: Seated in the back part of the restaurant, nobody was in this part of the restaurant but us, near the bathroom up against a wall facing a wall. We should've walked out at this point I think for some reason you forget that you can do that this was a special occasion. It was my birthday, and at this point it was feeling like a big mistake.. Drinks: 1-10... 3 The restaurant asked you not to bring your own wine and the reason is they want to charge you $300 to $450 a bottle to buy it here... Grosdly over priced wine menu, (bring your vaseline) Average one shot drink is $14-$20. My vodka tonic was served in a small glass with plenty of ice.... Water was good/cold. Bread basket: 1-10 ...1 1 jalepeno corn muffin split into 3 pieces. This is what the busboy called our bread basket which is laughable because you would think it would actually have bread in it and also you would think that it would be a real bread basket if you were paying that much per entrée that you might actually get one whole piece of bread to yourself. I almost thought this was a joke. It was served in a container a little smaller than an ashtray that was a steal box to hold our precious pieces of corn bread. This was nothing special tasted like corn bread with a bunch of jalapeño juice. Dumped in it. Oh Yum. Food: 1-10.... 1 I think the menu that I saw online had no pricing. The average meal is about $80 and up for one à la carte entrée. The short rib entree I had was mostly fat, served on top of what they called crispy noodles, which were chewy old and over, cooked crunchy chow mein noodles that had hot sauce dumped on them upon that they sat the one short rib with a piece of broccoli. my meal was $78 . The noodles or cold they were not supposed to be, and so chewy and old tasting. The short rib was mostly fat with no real seasoning- bland. Service: 1-10 2 The waiter never came to the table but twice, to order and to deliver the food. He asked us if we wanted dessert and we declined when he heard it was my birthday he said oh next time you should tell us and we might be able to do some thing for you like print up a menu with your name on it. I don't know if that was a fucking joke but who wants a goddamn menu aren't we grownups Would I go back?? NO Would I refer somebody here? NEVER I am not a fan of pretentious, snobby, people or places. I am not a fan of being put in your back room, facing a wall in a corner near your fucking bathroom, and if I was anybody I would request to never sit in the back, but I don't know if you would want to smell like a big dead fish walking out either because the front of the restaurant stunk Like crazy. Upon leaving, we all agreed that this was a big mistake . Lulu, I am not sorry to say this I'm sure this restaurant is for a lot of people because I read the reviews but if you want good value, there's plenty of restaurants that you can get MUCH BETTER FOOD & a great atmosphere WHERE YOU FEEL WELCOME!! I say KEEP LOOKING, you will THANK ME.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Reno, or perhaps in the US. The food is excellent, service is superb and the drinks are great. And Colleen is a delight! Highly recommended!

Yelp
The food in this restaurant is really intricate and artistic, but it wasn't really my thing. While their Foie gras was extremely delicious, everything else, the soups and the main entrees, contained many weird ingredients and sauces, which resulted in a weird taste and texture.

Yelp
LoLous is a wonderful place for special meal. Their presentation and ambiance is worth the hype. Make a reservation in advance to be sure you can be accommodated. If you have any food restrictions the staff can guide your decisions. (Get there early and pop into Stremmel Gallery!)

Yelp
Wonderful experience. I went to LuLous a few weeks ago for dinner. We had the pork buns, goat cheese and beet salad and for my entrée I had the antelope loin. Everything was delicious, seasonal, amazing. This was my first time, and I had high expectations. The server was lovely, very attentive. I read yelp reviews before going of course, and there were so many comments about they servers filling up your water at ton. That was the case for me too and I almost had to laugh because our guy was so on it, I never had an empty glass. Maybe a little overkill, but I wouldn't complain about being well hydrated. The wine was good, and my dinner was so filling that I skipped dessert. The atmosphere was what I expected, clean, classy. Our table was a little too close to the one next to it - or maybe the guy sitting there was just loud? I think I'd request a different table next time but it wasn't enough of an issue to make a big deal about it. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!

Yelp
My husband surprised me so much tonight with dinner reservations at Lulou's . Never thought I'd go, didn't know much about them. Just gorgeous and thoughtful. Apps: Escargot style lobster Carpaccio 2nd course: Portuguese clams Goat cheese Main dish: Antelope with rutabaga and chanterelle Snake River Farms American Wagyu with Brussels sprouts, cardoon, bacon and shallot. Celeriac fries. Dessert: Cute little brownie with toasty marshmallow Everything was delicious, well prepared and the staff were wonderful

Yelp
Can't believe it took us so long to eat here! Everything we ordered was perfect, from the delicious cheesy bread starter to the mousse dessert the packed for us to-go so we could make our movie. The food is imaginative and the service is attentive. We have found our new favorite date night spot! We ordered a bunch of small plates instead of entrees this time and everything was fantastic. Hamachi Ceviche Lobster (in the escargot dish) Lump crab meat skillet (deconstructed crab cake) Goat cheese salad (perfectly fried cheese ball) Apple salad Chile relleno (inventive! Spicy fried shrimp in a poblano) Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Past it's prime. Owners out of touch with reality. Valentines dinner at what in the past was a very memorable dining experience. HVAC blasting hot, off set by blizzard conditions every time the door opened. You used to enter into a foyer. Now only entrance blasts out the bar. Brought a very special bottle of wine to commentate the occasion. They don't do corkage! Normally $25, I offered $50. Wouldn't even consider it. Who cares about the customer! Food is good, but painfully overpriced. Owners should retire and let the next generation in!

Yelp
Tonight was our first night that we were disappointed. Maybe because the health inspectors were there, but I am not so sure. The appetizers were amazing, and costly but so worth it. It took forever to get soup and a salad. The entrees took even longer. I had the Red Grouper it was Just ok. Actually tasteless. Hubby had the rib eye. He said it was the size of the Ponderosa steak but tasted good. We have loved this place up until tonight. Bill was $385 including tip for two people.
