"With a menu that transcends genre, chef Scott Hastings combines cuisines from Europe, the Lowcountry, Asia, and New England in a vibrant, seaside-themed dining room and patio. What a wonderful treat! We stopped in for lunch. The LuLu twist that they put on each dish was a little Southern and unique. I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. It was amazingly juicy, flavorful, tender, delicious, and well balanced with the cheese. Every dish provided a great eating experience that exploded with flavors! Portions are more than satisfying. We also shared the Clam Chowder, Salmon, AND Chicken Sandwich with Pimento Cheese. This cozy little restaurant is a must if you visit Hilton Head Island, SC.

Amazing lunch options - sandwiches, fancy salads, seafood - huge servings, everything was fresh and delicious. Very affordable upscale-ish lunch. The waitresses were very sweet and helpful. Ambience is quiet and intimate. Ate my lunch before I took a picture (simple grill catch of the day-salmon).

Exemplary! The wild razorback tenderloin with blackberry, black garlic BBQ sauce was delicious. The seafood salad was fresh and my girlfriend really enjoyed the fried squash blossoms. If you save room for dessert the chocolate souffle is made fresh to order. You can tell the family and staff really care about your experience.

***disclaimer*** this review is long… My husband and I visit Hilton Head regularly to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. We recently visited celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary, and we made a decision to try new restaurants during our stay… but one restaurant we visit EVERY SINGLE TIME we visit Hilton Head is Lulu’s. We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Whether it’s solely me and him, or, when we bring the whole family, Lulu’s is a “must-visit” on the agenda. This is our absolute favorite restaurant in this area… The service here is top notch. The ambience is top tier, and the food is “out of this world” delicious. We have tried numerous dishes, from the Lobster roll, To the fish sandwich, to the short rib grilled Cheese, the list goes on and on. Appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts, we have never had a dish from this restaurant that we did not love. I would give this restaurant 10 stars if possible and I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality dining experience in Hilton Head. This restaurant has become a tradition for us and we will continue to eat here every time we visit the area.❤️

We went for thanksgiving brunch and it was so good! The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was amazing. We got the stuffed French toast and the chicken/waffles and they were awesome!

Google
An upscale restaurant with an eclectic menu in a shopping center. The food was pretty good - especially the chocolate soufflé. Order the souffle’ 10-20 minutes before you’re ready to eat it. I had the halibut and was underwhelmed - a bit bland and a small piece for a big price. The presentation was amazing but the dish wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. My wife had the scallops which were amazingly yummy and I wish that I’d ordered it instead. Service was top notch - our server was friendly and attentive (thank you).

What a nice little gem in a shopping center! As you walk in the interior is lovely and though close, the booths are private. Our party of 4 shared 3 appetizers and all were excellent! The ricotta dip was outstanding and my wife and sister-in-law loved the buratta. I had the surf and turf ravioli, they were outstanding. My lobster was a little tough, but the beef ravioli and sauce was excellent! My wife had a lobster roll and it was overflowing with meat, but it was dry and the chips it came with had been cooked a little long so almost had a burnt flavor. We finished with one of the best pieces of key lime pie we have ever had! Our server was efficient. The food arrived quickly. Overall the meal was a success and we would love to try it again!! Just a few minor changes could really wow!! No joke about the key lime pie - it was stupid good!! To those about to dine, I salute you!!

Google
We came on a Sunday and enjoyed brunch on the covered patio. The lobster roll was good. It wasn’t super flavorful, but I liked that it didn’t have too much mayo and it came with chips. I really enjoyed the crabcake though. It was packed with meat and came on top of fresh corn. Overall, the food is a solid four stars. But, Angela, our waitress, was five stars! She is the best.

Yelp
Had one of the best meals in Hilton Head at this cute little spot. My husband was craving a lobster roll and boy did they deliver. It was probably one of the best lobster rolls I have had. My husband and I shared the short rib grilled cheese and the lobster roll, both were fantastic. The Buratta starter was also quite scrumptious. 10/10 recommend this place for the service, ambiance and food!

Yelp
We can't put our finger on it, but despite all the great things we heard about this place it just didn't hit for us. We made reservations for dinner and sat in their semi enclosed porch. Aesthetically, this is a very pretty restaurant and the staff was very attentive and friendly. As a dinner spot - great for a date night, girls' night or families without very little kids. Brunch may be different? We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu. Maybe it was just an off night for us, but the dinner menu is small and nothing really spoke to us. We decided to split 2 appetizers and got the Spanish octopus ($22) and the seafood salad ($24). The octopus was grilled and had good flavor, but it was very sparse. The seafood salad was a heftier serving with a healthy variety of seafood, but we just didn't care for the dressing it was marinated in - it was a bit too sweet for our tastes. Bread is $8 for what looks like a medium sized muffin-looking "loaf", which was disappointing. The whole bill was as much as we spent at other same quality restaurants for dinners and a drink each. There was a large party sitting behind us and they were raving about their food, so perhaps we were the ones having an off night? Lulu was just a miss for us, but you should check it out and judge for yourself because it really is a lovely place with a nice staff and perhaps your experience will be more successful!

Yelp
Was sorta meh. The good-the cornbread and the chicken. Everything else was bland-no seasoning. We waited over an hour for two entrees-(we didn't order appetizers.) The table near us came in 30 min after we did and they got their food before we did. The server apologized a lot. I won't ever go back.

Yelp
Lulu's was absolutely lovely!! My boyfriend and I were there on Saturday to celebrate his birthday. The host was friendly and funny! We were greeted immediately with water. Our server was informative and friendly. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the lobster macaroni and cheese. Portions were generous. Check out Lulu's!!!

Yelp
Lulu is in a great location right near a mini golf course which was perfect for the family before heading to dinner at Lulu. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was very friendly the three stars were solely for the food. As someone who grew up in the south and love a great shrimp and grits I was excited to hear it was one of the favorite. So, I ordered it, but it was soaked in a brown gravy which was super rich and took away from the main stars - shrimp and grits! However, others loved their salad and steak. So, maybe just order something other than the shrimp and grits.

Yelp
My wife and I like to try new places each time we visit the island and we were very happy with our experience at LuLu's. This is a small family owned business which is always a big plus for us. My wife had the swordfish tacos and i had the Southern Fried Chicken sandwich. My wife really liked her tacos, but the chicken sandwich was to die for. We both raved over this sandwich. I would venture to say it is the best chicken sandwich i have ever eaten. We each had a couple cocktails as well. My old fashioned was made very well and tased great. I will most definitely be back to visit next year.
google avatar

Yelp
An outstanding find on the Island. Tried the popular choice of fried chicken dinner, which was delightful with a Cabernet sauce, accompanied by Brussels and mashed potatoes. Dining partner enjoyed the halibut. We both loved the house made bread appetizer, very much like a croissant. Key lime pie and banana "tiramisu" were good and service was solid. Will definitely be back to try other items.

Yelp
Saw the good reviews online and looked forward to a great meal--unfortunately, that didn't happen. The "starter" salads are huge -- entree size. Should never be listed as starters. The pear and Gorgonzola salad featured pears that were not ripe -- very hard. We were perhaps halfway through our salads and the entrees arrived-strange. My halibut was overdone - dry. My wife had the tuna over noodles. The noodles were so salty she sent the dish back-first time she has ever sent a dish back. The restaurant comped their "famous" key lime pie but we found it heavy and bland. Nothing like true key lime pie that you find in Key West. FYI-the bread at $8 (really??) had a consistency similar to cornbread. Overall, very disappointing and overpriced.

Yelp
The air condition was delicious. The staff was very friendly. Tables were well spaced out and such. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. The fact that I was able to get a Sunday brunch rsvp for 9, easily, was likely a red flag. The food was very unpleasant. Very. We tried a range of things - the omelet special, chicken and waffles, stuffed French toast, steak and eggs, crab cake benedict and avocado toast. It was all pretty unfortunate - lack of seasoning, incorrect ratios, incorrect temperatures, lemonade from a yucky mix, even the water tasted bad. I'm always super disappointed when I pick a placed based on reviews and then have a fairly contradictory experience. Never will I ever dine here again.

Tracy J.

Yelp
I had the lobster roll and was great. Very meaty! We sat outside and it got pretty muggy. I'd prefer inside next time. It's good but not the best in the island. We would revisit within our 7 days but won't be the fireworks on the last day. Our waitress was sweet.

Yelp
Went for Easter brunch, which was a limited menu, which we didn't realize until they handed us a one-pager with only 10-12 options. Quaint little spot. I had the bacon cheddar chicken & waffle which was divine. Wife had the baked Virginia Ham and she liked it, as well. Couldn't figure out what type of vibe they were going for. Food was great, atmosphere seemed relaxed but also a bit stuffy. I'd like to go back when their entire menu is available.

Yelp
Lulu Kitchen was amazing! The service was great, the atmosphere outside on the patio was lovely and family friendly, and the food was delicious! We had a party of 5 and tried the fried chicken, halibut, and scallops-everyone enjoyed their meals. Make sure to finish up with the cheesecake, it's INCREDIBLE!

Yelp
A beautiful setting at the end of a strip mall with ample parking. The decor inside is beautiful. We tried to order the butter bread but unfortunately they had run out. The spritzer cocktails were delicious. We ordered Parmesan chips and Brussels sprouts for appetizers. We also ordered fried chicken, bouillabaisse and salmon. All were delicious! The staff was attentive and helpful.

Yelp
What's not to like about this place? It is a hidden gem located on HHPkwy. The restaurant is quaint and has an varied menu. The service was excellent and attentive. The preparations were outstanding. My husband slurped everything up which he usually doesn't do. The chef came over to see us because we just had to meet him given the impeccable dishes we had. What a find!
google avatar

Liz W.

Yelp
Amazing food and great ambience! My husband got the scallops and said they were fantastic. I got the fried chicken which was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and it came with delicious mashed potatoes and maybe the best corn bread I've ever had. Service was great too! Can't wait to return.

Yelp
Way behind on this review so will be brief. Lulu's was fantastic! You must, and I mean must try the Keylime Pie! My favorite. So good that we went back another night just for a piece of pie! Enjoy, Good Selling!

Yelp
Lulu's was a superb dinner experience. Very popular place for the locals. Larger tables for big parties, 4 person booths...Bar...Nice restaurant / porch dinning ambiance. The Lulu Chips OG were a favorite for the 4 of us. Bouillabaisse was excellent. Great twist on salmon with the Peach BBQ Salmon.. The desserts were excellent!! BEST Key Lime Pie!!!! White Chocolate - Raspberry Cheesecake was tremendous. We went back one night just for the Key Lime Pie and coffee. Service was excellent, hostess was very engaging. Looking forward to our next visit when on the island. Reservation recommended.

Yelp
The name sake of the owners beloved dog Lulu (may she rest in peace), this spot is an ABSOLUTE MUST for those visiting Hilton Head for a beach front getaway. The starters are fantastic. We got the calamari, lobster Mac, and the house made bread (well worth the $6). Don't think there is a wrong choice on the menu. For mains, the short rib, scallops, and Bouillabaisse were all as luscious and mouthwatering as their descriptions entailed! The salmon however (pictured below) was an epicurean delight fit for the gods. The flavors were as wild as the salmon itself. The salmon was rich and delicate, the peach salsa and the andouille hash danced a seamless tango between salty and sweet, and the barbecue sauce a perfect addition to a symphony of harmonious flavors. Everything is made fresh and in house, and house is the perfect description for the atmosphere of Lulu's: relaxed, calm, and full of southern comfort (in large part thanks to our wonderful server). I don't mean to waste your time with these superfluous protestations, so I'll end with 4 words any foodie can understand. Yummy in my tummy. *We went at the end of service and were the last ones in the restaurant so we cannot speak to what it's like at peak hours.

Divina S.

Yelp
The welcome was great initially. When I used my debit card and was asked to sign with the option to give a tip which I refused, the atmosphere shifted considerably. I became irritated because the young daughter was messing with the potions of food toomuch and I was asked to pay $2:15 more for a piece of pork that I had paid for already. The food did not taste exceptional and kind of mushy. I told my son I didn't like it and I was disappointed. I threw away the majority of it. Will never go back. I t was my first time.

Yelp
Wow! Looking at the menu and the interesting mix of ingredients coming together that provides a world of taste you really are not going to find in many places locally -- if any -- I would call this a chef driven menu. I thought about getting the Seafood Salad - Scallop / Shrimp / Lobster / Lemon / Citrus Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil to start, but I was actually saying to myself that it sounds too good to be true. Well, with someone else ordering it at our table, it was that good and it certainly was true! I, instead, ordered the Burrata - Grilled Peaches / Port Wine Reduction / Prosciutto / Crostini to start and was super happy with that. For dinner I thought about the Fried Chicken - Twin Breasts, Whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes / Sweet Corn / Cabernet Demi / Corn Bread but instead ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese - Caramelized Onion / Imported Provolone / Garlic Pickle / Parmesan Chips. I was happy doing that just because of the size of the entrée as the chicken would have been too much for me! I wish I had taken a photo of the Lobster Mac & Cheese side ordered for the table as well. The portion size was not only generous, but the lobster was perhaps the most plentiful I have ever seen for this combination. Bottom line, everything our table ordered was perfect and this place will be remembered as one of the best meals to be had in the Hilton Head Island area.

Yelp
For those of you who live or travel to Hilton Head, my dear friend, Scott Hastings, is the owner and chef of Lulu Kitchen. Scott and I have known each other since we were kids the restaurant is fabulous! All the dishes were created by Scott. Wonderful atmosphere, great service, but most of all the cuisine! His staff are all friendly and aim to please. Be sure to say hello to Scott's wife Jen! They are a great team! Highly recommend Lulu's!

Yelp
I never heard of Lulu's, but our neighbors invited me there for a Christmas Eve dinner. Not too many places are open for Christmas Eve. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It looks like it's in a strip mall area and the venue itself doesn't look very large, but they seem to know how to run a great restaurant. We were seated right away and Jeff was our server. We started off with cocktails (prices between $10-17 ea). We started out with a Golden Beet Citrus salad which we shared at the table. While I'm not a beet fan, the golden beets were delicious coupled with the grapefruit wedges. For the main course, I ordered the Sixty South Salmon done medium and was absolutely perfect. My neighbors ordered the Lamb Loin which looks more like sushi, but was medium rare and very tender. The last dish was a Flounder Meuniers---- large breaded filet over asparagus. Great presentation. For dessert, I had an Irish Coffee while my guests ordered a pumpkin creme brulee. Overall--- atmosphere is very good, food is excellent, drinks are excellent, noise level is energetic, but not loud. Prices are a bit high, but worth it.

Yelp
Went here a month and a half ago during vacation. The server was friendly, the food came out very quickly, the food was hot and the taste of my Chicken and Waffles dish was simply amazing. The price of the dish was pretty reasonable and I would recommend this place as a must try.

Jordan B.

Yelp
If I could give less I absolutely would. The food was not good at all. We did have the crab cake and that was good however the wagyu burger tasted no different than the farm fresh ground beef that we raise ourselves. The lobster Benedict was a lot and didn't fit together and the white cheddar bacon waffle is not good unless you are obsessed with whiskey. We were expecting a little taste of bourbon in the syrup not for it to punch you in the face with bourbon. The service was not great. When we walked in there were multiple clean tables and they did not want to sit us there we waited almost 10 minutes for someone to finally speak to us and sit us down. Granted we do have an almost 2 year old and it's close to nap time so I understand however in a "vacation" town you would think a restaurant would be a little more kid friendly especially when they have a sign outside saying join us for put put

Yelp
I lived here and never ate there until I came back for a visit. My bad! The seafood salad was so good! Great way to start a meal. I had the shrimp and grits and wow was that good!

Yelp
Very good food and friendly service. We went there for lunch. after biking around Hilton Head Island. We started with the burrata prosciutto and peach appetizer. It looked and tasted great. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich with chips and I had the shrimp po boy. Everything * tasted great.

Yelp
This was our second time visiting Lulu's, and it was a great experience! We had the brisket hash, avocado toast with smoked salmon, the breakfast omelet, and the Wag burger. The star of the meal was the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake! The restaurant was clean and nice, and we received great service. 10/10 recommend stoping by LuLu Kitchen.

Yelp
Great lunch after a long bike ride yesterday. We shared the burrata and then each had a sandwich. Good food and service. Lovely covered outdoor area.

Yelp
Had the best Thanksgiving dinner/brunch in Rose Hill Lulu's. Everything was delicious! It was only $25 great price and food Brenda

Yelp
Found Lulu Kitchen by chance on the way to Hilton Head for a destination wedding. We wanted to stop for lunch coming from the airport and my wife searched for 5 star review restaurants in the area, So glad Lulu popped up first. We were greeted by Sam who seated us, he returned with menus, including a drink menu. So many good cocktail choices we couldn't decide so Sam broke down each cocktail in detail and guided us based on our flavor preferences. We commented on his knowledge and he told us he created the cocktails. We did the Passion Fruit Margarita, Prickly Pear Gimlet and Lulu Old Fashioned. All were wonderful, may have had another round or 2 for those who weren't driving. The food looked interesting and again Sam came to help with our selection. We had the short rib grilled cheese sandwich which was incredible. The house fried chicken sandwich was so moist and tender inside and the coating was crisp and so flavorful. Maybe there was a Peanut Buttercup Martini or 2 for dessert. Next visit to Hilton Head we will be stopping at Lulu. Sam made our day. He was our Host, waiter and bartender. I can't rule out didn't run into the kitchen and prepare our food too, LOL.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch and this place was just as excellent as I remember. I got the house fried chicken sandwich, which was honestly a difficult decision since everything on the menu looked so good. The chips it came with were amazing. They were so obviously very fresh, they were sliced thin and some of them kind of clumped together and weren't crispy, but I really loved this inconsistency! Every bite was a little different, but they were all perfect. The sandwich was pretty darn great too, the pimento cheese really came through in the sandwich. This is such a special spot, I love it so much. I can't wait to share it with my friends and family. Cannot recommend highly enough!
google avatar

Megan F.

Yelp
Enjoyed our Sunday brunch at LuLu Kitchen! They made the kids an off menu pancake option, which were really good. The New Yorker bagel with smoked salmon was excellent. We had the lobster roll and crab cake Benedict which I would also recommend. We will come back when in Hilton Head.
google avatar

Kaitlyn N.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend were able to pop in here and order a couple of Godiva Chocolate Soufflés. They were amazing and the service was great! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a sweet treat.

Yelp
This restaurant was fantastic! Everything from the ambience to the quality of food was amazing! Passed the test of three 11 year olds and one VERY picky one!

Yelp
I had the Butter Poached Lobster and I think it was the best tasting thing I've ever had! Highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
Went to Lulu for lunch. My husband and I shared a special which was a short rib grilled cheese and the chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. I especially liked the grilled cheese. Food is of high quality and well prepared. This is a great spot!

Yelp
Service was great!!!! The food however was very tasteless. We ordered the salmon kale sweet potato entree, and the Striped Bass encrusted in crab...both tasteless and were swimming in grease/butter. Unfortunately, I can't recommend anyone for the food though the service and staff were kind.

Yelp
HIDDEN GEM! Wow wow wow! RUN! Upon entering this restaurant it looks cute, quaint hidden in a strip mall you might overlook. But glancing at the menu, wine and cocktail list you realize this owner chef knows flavor! It was hard not to try it all so we tried a lot! The Lobster salad appetizer was so fresh and put together over things I wouldn't have ever guessed to pair with lobster but oh so delicious. The mussels and the broth they came in had us asking for more bread so we didn't look awkward using a straw it was THAT good! The fried chicken sandwich sounds basic but nope, another enormous flavor rush adding a touch of spice and pimento cheese. The lovely Hawaiian roll just making it all come together so beautifully. My husband got the swordfish tacos with no fixings and added cheese. Weird but he said it was also some of the freshest fish and flavor as well (wouldn't know because he finished them before I could ask for a bite!) They do have a kids menu which one got a cheeseburger from and one got pasta with red sauce. This isn't your basic kids menu, this was a full size delicious burger and orecchiette pasta seasoned perfectly ! She added a simple side of salmon that was also cooked to perfection and devoured by a 9 year old! Trust me, we did all the "best of HH" Hudson's, Quarterdeck, Chophouse etc etc but we wish we found this place sooner in our trip because we would have gone back multiple times! Simply divine!

Yelp
Sat down to order , clumsy waiter dumped dirty full water glasses on me , we left , we will not be back

Yelp
Excellent food! fabulous flavor and quality! (very rare in any other restaurant on Hilton Head) Lobster crepe app, to die for, their homemade tagliatelle with local shrimp bursting with flavor, and the key lime pie the best I ever had! the rest of the family haven't stopped talking about their meals either! Si delicious we are going back tomorrow! Service was equal dynamite. Emily was knowledgeable of menu, friendly with smiles and attentive, love the vibe as a whole! A definite try!

Duane S.

Yelp
Food and service were outstanding. Don't leave without having a piece of Key Lime Pie!

Yelp
We absolutely adored Lulu Kitchen! The physical restaurant was intimate and we loved how local it felt. Scott was our server and he was amazing he catered to our every need, was patient and had such a welcoming personality. The food was phenomenal and exceeded my expectations that I had been building since I saw Lulu mentioned in Southern Living. We got the burrata, seafood salad, and lobster mac to start and had to hold ourselves back to not finish every bite in hopes to save room for our entrees! I got the gnocchi and savored every bite, it was rich, creamy, and delish but still felt healthy! My sister said the scallops were perfectly done and my mom said the salmon was to die for. My dad got a crab cake which was enough for a meal and mentioned that it was all crab no fillers. My grandmother and great aunt had the chicken and it will definitely be my order at our next visit! While we didn't save room for dessert we will plan to indulge in it on our next visit! Cannot wait to come back!
