Lulu's On Main

We decided to eat at Lulu’s on Main New Years Eve and then go to Cherokee for fireworks. We made a reservation and were seated right on time! The server, atmosphere, cleanliness, and food were all great! I would definitely go back! We ate the red snapper, and salmon with the lava and peanut butter pies! It’s located in the historic downtown and is worth checking out!

Excellent Excellent Excellent!! Chris was our server and we sat at the bar. Bread was very fresh, my drink was excellent, got the steak salad with goat cheese instead of blue cheese! It was so good! Chris talked us into the Beignet dessert with caramel ice cream! Wow! Was it good. Highly recommend this place!

The people with friendly, the environment was very nice, our server a young lady with long black hair was super nice. Even the lady behind the the bar, the gentleman that seated us and the gentleman sitting at the bar we're all extremely nice. The food was great, especially the crust on the bread. You don't find good crusty Airy bread like old school anymore. My one gripe and I don't even want to call it that is that I ordered a ribeye and once I got into it I knew it was in a ribeye it looked like a sirloin, maybe a New York strip but definitely wasn't a ribeye but that's okay it was good and we were glad to be there

I had an outstanding experience at Lulu's on Main! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food was absolutely phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish tasted like it was prepared with real passion. I especially loved the Surf and Turf Raviloi. The restaurant was clean, well‑organized, and had a great vibe that made the entire experience relaxing and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, top‑notch service, and a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend Lulu's On Main. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Step into a wonderful, uniquely refreshing vibe with some delicious food. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and overall a wonderful complement to the air of the restaurant. We shared the Mozzarella as a starter, for me, was akin to sitting on a patio in Italy for flavor, texture, and presentation. We then had the chicken marsala, and a pasta salad, both in their own rights, amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly, and again, they knocked the presentation out of the park. Not to mention, we did all this 30 mins prior to their closing! We were late after a chaotic day, but they welcomed us with open arms, and helped ensure the meal, service, and overall experience was absolutely fantastic. TLDR 10 out of 10 would recommend!

A Beautiful restaurant- quaint and cozy, clean and well spaced seating. I was greeted as soon as I came in the door with a welcoming smile. Noticing what people have in front of them while I was walking to my table, everything looked so well prepared. Lovely presentations - delicious looking food. I couldn't wait to make my pic. Impeccable Service- The server was very pleasant- well spoken and polite. She knew the specials and the desserts from memory. She didn't forget anything, she checked on me and got my desert and check quickly. So glad I went. Five stars! Highly recommend it! One of their specials was shrimp and scallops on linguine in a delicious sauce. 😂 I can't tell you what it was but it was freaking awesome!

Great food at a good price. Lamb gyro had good flavor with fresh veggies. Italian sub was excellent. The chips are very crunchy, like kettle chips; you can substitute for other sides if that's not your thing. Service was great, attentive but not annoying. Bathrooms and dining area were very clean. Don't miss Lulu's if you're going through Sylva.

A cute restaurant on the main street of Sylva. I had a Wedge salad which was very good. A bowl of French onion soup which was just ehhh. Husband had a salad, a fish dish which he loved. Service was great and a really nice wine selection.

Lulu's is a hidden gem! We didn't have reservations but luckily a table for two had just canceled. We sat in the front window area looking out over the happening in the street. Our food was delicious. My salmon dish was cooked to perfection.

After visiting the breathtaking Smoky Mountain Railroad, our fantastic tour guide Chris suggested we swing by his charming hometown of Sylvia and check out the best restaurant in town and ask for emily. Let me tell you, we had a blast exploring! This little town felt like it was straight out of a Hallmark movie--with its adorable shops, friendly folks, and a cozy atmosphere that made it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Now, let's talk about the restaurant Chris recommended! When we arrived to Lulu's On Main we were greeted with the warmest welcome. We of course asked for Emily and she was absolutely wonderful, providing us with the most attentive service ever! She carefully described all the delicious options on the menu, and trust me, she did not steer us wrong. My steak was cooked to perfection, and oh my goodness, my wife's meatloaf was sizzling and packed with flavor! A huge thank you to Chris and Emily for making our visit so special!

Came for desert and was glad to find it is dog friendly! Can only really speak the that so the Crème Brulee was just okay. It was cold and the caramelization went a little hard. Tasted more burnt than cooked. The staff was nice though and very sweet tour dogs. Patio seating is a little cramped but nice and it overlooks the street and at the time some sort of festival was going on.

If you haven't visited Lulu's on Main in Sylva, NC you should make it a stop of your are in town. It has a unique charm with its eclectic decor and the service is always welcoming. We arrived as soon as they opened, being one for the first costumers through the door. Emily waited on us this visit and she was very attentive. They always have a homemade soup that is delicious. I chose the three grilled cheese sandwich with the chicken vegetable soup and my husband chose the grilled chicken sandwich with pesto, lettuce and tomato. They were both specials of the day.

Everything was so delicious! We walked in w a table for 9 and all women so you know the ordering was complicated But our waitress took it all in stride and we had the most wonderful lunch. All of the food and cocktails were prepared perfectly! Only wish I lived closer just to frequent Lulus more often. Yea Madison!!

Our host recommended LuLus and we decided to try it out for dinner. What an amazing dinner we had on the patio with local music playing from the adjacent park. Parking is generous, free, and close to the restaurant. The bathrooms were clean and service was excellent. I had the braised short ribs, my wife had shrimp and grits. Our meals were perfect with good portion size. I would definitely recommend this dining experience to anyone.

Great indoor and outdoor dining area, a few vegan and vegetarian options. Too much oil for my taste but our Omni friends lapped it all up. The desserts were spectacular! Too pricy for what it is.

WONDERFUL restaurant in Sylva! Perfect place for light or more filling food options. Very clean and incredible service, and my Gyro was incredible. My wife had what she described as the "best restaurant salad" she's ever had. Will be back!

Always kind, friendly, hospitable service. When I am in WNC, I never skip the Pasta ala Greque at Lulu's. I dream about this meal. I always ask for a side of French bread and I opt out of the red onions. Portion is large. Ambience is calm, wood floors that creak, and nice sized tables for two, which I like.

A great local place a diverse menu. The short ribs are excellent. The Thai selections including the soup are very good. The salads are fresh and well prepared. We also had their cobbler which was exceptional. Service was great as well. Highly recommended.

Lulu's was AWESOME !! We couldn't find anything negative or remotely toward the negative. From the heated plates, to the food, to the ambiance and to the service... ALL was great !! With a culinary wife, she usually has something of some sort of feedback, but she was speechless. I had the Lulu's signature Filet , which was perfectly prepared and it melted in my mouth. The potatoes (wrapped in bacon) was a great compliment. My wife had the Chicken Piccata, was perfect with the chicken perfectly battered and fried and the caper butter sauce was perfectly balanced. The steamed broccoli was Devine, with lightly salted butter. My daughter had the Meatloaf Manhattan, which we all grabbed a bit of. The flavor was bountiful and then, to get a college student to like broccoli (who doesn't like broccoli) was a true testament to its flavor. The Chef followed the traditional classic dishes to a T !! This was such a blessing to have a perfect meal prepared by a wonderful Chef and restaurant. ALSO, the gentleman who served us had great timing and patience.

The food was amazing! All of it. Always a great choice when we're in town, but Saturday was exceptional.

Ate there again this evening. Our server, Thomas, was terrific! We had Tandoori Mahi paired with a recommended Sauvignon Blanc wine. Both were terrific. The Tandoori surprised with subtle flavors of lamb and curry in a sauce with sautéed onion stir fry and very thinly sliced cucumber salad. Absolutely scrumptious! Love this restaurant!

We stopped at Lulu's while en route and were looking for a dog-friendly lunch spot--the staff at Lulu's got us seated on the patio, brought our pooch a water bowl and dog treat, and was very attentive to our needs. Oh! And the food was outstanding too. We had two specials, the three-cheese grilled cheese sandwich and the grilled chicken wrap with rice and pickled veggies. I liked that the wrap was lightly toasted so it was crisp--a nice touch I never would have thought of! We will make Lulu's our go-to place on our next trip through Sylva!

Wow! Amazingly good food, fresh, clean and delicious. Excellent service and nice portions.

Visiting the area and stopped by for Lunch based on recommendation from Innkeeper ... we couldn't believe just how good the meal actually was! So good, in fact, that we returned for Dinner ! We were a party of 4 for Dinner and everyone's meal was fantastic!! We've been on an extended Vacation after recently retiring and our meals at Lulus have been one of the highlights while traveling extensively all over the Country !!

Lulu's is a super cute locally-owned restaurant that I used to visit as a student at WCU over 30 years ago. It has really had a lovely facelift. I met a colleague for a work lunch. Prices are competitive during lunch. My friend raves about her burger. My cheesesteak lacked flavor but wasn't awful. The fries were great as was the mozzarella. Loved the ambiance, and the service was good. I would return. The location is wonderful.

Interesting menu with yummy food. Stopped in for lunch. We had the trout po-boy. Super delicious. Generous with the fish portion. Lots of tomato, lettuce and red onion with a creole remolade. Nice horseradish bite in the sauce. My husband ordered one of the specials, 3 cheese grilled cheese with a creamy tomato with Italian sausage soup. He loved it. Our waitress Flavia was super attentive and the food came out of the kitchen quickly. Small bar area, but we were at a table.

Great service, clean open atmosphere. Delicious soups!! I would suggest serving bread with the soup and making the salad an optional side.

I have lived in Sylva for about 4 years, and I just recently got to try this place with my partner. We walked in without reservations, and were sat almost immediately. I am so glad I decided to try here, it is delicious! The portions were amazing for the price, and the taste made this restaurant top 10 I have ever dined at. If you're in the area, stop by here. You won't regret it!

I never post reviews but the food here warrants it. It is hands down the best food in Sylva. The quality was impeccable, the portions were very balanced. I ordered the mixed grill and my partner had the Sticky Asian ribs with a French onion soup appetizer. Everything was a 10/10. Absolute perfection. This is a must for any food lover in the area.

The most concise description I can give this experience is CULINARY DISSONANCE. We were really enthused to try this place given the reviews and fine dining is this neck of the woods is not common. Let me set the stage with the cost for two people, only one ordering cocktails, $108 before tip and taxes. We sat down at a shabby-sheek/ french country looking table....ok, that's cute, it's the mountains..... with no linens or place mat.....we were handed our utensils wrapped in paper napkins the likes of which you would find at a drive-thru or a mom and pop 6 seater restaurant. We were handed menu's, and given water....waitress spun or her heel and left, no drink order taken nor "I'll give you more time to look over the drink menu." (we were the only ones in there at this point.). We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an app, husband had a house salad with housemade asian dressing, I ordered the duck (no request on temperature so assumption was medium rare as is typical) with bok choy stirfry, husband had the shrimp etoufee and fried trout. Sauce on fried green tomatoes was bland but tomatoes tasted good and seemed hand breaded, housemade dressing on salad was good and salad was seemed fresh, duck was the color of the "skin" on a barbie doll/definitely not MR and chewy, vegetables were so heavily coated in soy/terriyaki I honestly couldn't taste them..... not what I was expecting or hoping for with the special. Duck is tricky/requires technique, but if you are going to put it on your menu, it's a reasonable expectation you can prepare and present it well. If you have it often, you know what I'm talking about. My husband said the shrimp and trout was good but not great. The two stars were for the craft cocktails, whomever made them was a brilliant mixologist! It stands to reason we did not order dessert. Going out to eat for many folks, from all walks of life, is special and I don't know, nor have I met, anyone that likes to waste hard-earned money, whether they have alot or a little. With that being said, consider this a cautionary tale if you take your money seriously and care whether you feel satisfied after a meal. I won't even get into diner attire and etiquette, the chef and his or her staff can't be held responsible for that, but know if you're also concerned about overall experience, it's a crap shoot, don't expect folks who can spend $100 on a meal to be dressed commensurately (meaning with reasonable appropriateness). If you are able and willing to spend that kind of money or more on a culinary experience, I suggest ILDA at the other end of the block.

We really enjoyed Lulu's. The service was fast. Great steaks! It's not cheap, but it's good. Nice atmosphere in the place as well.

Had been to Sylva multiple times and had very tried Lulu's but finally we made it to lunch and wow very impressed. We even came back later in the week. We started off with the French Onion Soup and wow it is so good. I could easy eat it everyday especially once it starts to cool down. On my first time there I got the French Dip and Ashley got Reuben which was on special and both of them were amazing and so filling. The other nice thing is the prices are good too. $10-$12 for a monster sandwich and a side. You can't beat it. The second time we came that week I got the Gyro and it was massive and filled with meat ( you will see in my picture what I mean but I swear there were veggies in there too). I still have yet to go for dinner but judging from what we have had for lunch I'm sure dinner is very good as well. We will for sure be stopping back in next time we are in town!

Our large group enjoyed this cute restaurant on Main Street in Sylva NC. I had the Veggie Noodles $12.25 with tofu $6. The veggies were very fresh but the peanut noodle soup really didn't have much flavor. I asked for more sauce peanut sauce but it didn't help. Everyone else really enjoyed their lunch. The service was very efficient. The atmosphere was really cool.

Have been here twice while visiting Sylva and will return. This place is delicious. Looks unassuming from the outside but a culinary surprise inside. The Thai chicken soup was truly outstanding as an entree. Perhaps they should offer a smaller version as an appetizer to get more people to order it as an entree - just a thought. Friendly helpful staff too - an all around nice experience.

Lettuce past expiration brown and wet. The fried green tomatoes would have been better if the waitress got the sauce on the side as we asked. We had to ask another waitress for water as she didn't bring any back. And had to ask the other waitress to get us the salad without sauce as our waitress didn't notice when she put the plate down. Poor service

It was my first time here and I tried a few menu items. A beef soup, burger and spring rolls. Everything was delicious. Service was great. Overall it was a neat little spot. I'll hit it up again next visit.

We read the reviews about lulu's and knew that we wanted to check it out for dinner. We were very pleased! Drove from Waynesville to Sylva and enjoyed a delicious meal. We were seated right away and overall the Service was prompt and friendly. French onion soup was great. Mushroom appetizer was unique and I couldn't get enough of the cilantro curry sauce that accompanied. Ordered the mixed grill for main meal and it was delicious. Portions were huge! Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The atmosphere and vibe are fantastic and we have already talked about returning and bringing our adult daughters with us. It is also very awesome that they have several vegetarian and gluten-free options. Glad we drove to Sylva for dinner tonight! :)

Shout out to Justin and Devin for catering for my daughter's Rehearsal dinner on October 25th, 2024. We had a lovely fajita mixture with veggies, chicken, beef and tofu for the Bride and Groom and vegetarian guests. Presentation was lovely, food was hot and delicious!! Professionalism all around and the guests really enjoyed it! We were given 3 choices in the beginning for catered meal: all sounded delicious, but we chose Mexican. This was all prepared and done beautifully on the heels of a disastrous flooding event in the area. So grateful, guys!! Will be back and visit your restaurant!

lulu's is my go to restaurant on Sylva... I had the muffalato (spelled wrong) excellent

We eat at Lulu's frequently because we love it so much! The food is always amazing, and the employees are great. They have lots of different specials.

A little quirky restaurant, we had a mixed experience, the meatloaf got rave reviews, the pork loin special was greatly appreciated, the surf and turf kabob the steak was a little dry and the potatoes a bit cold, and then the grouper. What I will say is that the Food tended to be a bit spicier than my wife and I prefer. I think I just had higher expectations so it felt like a bit like a let down.

Delicious local food and great service. Great selection for vegetarians while keeping all the carnivores pleased. Bonus points that they had my favorite wine (Muga Rioja) as well. Cute atmosphere and we felt very safe despite COVID. Tables are spaced far apart and we liked the door barriers in between each. Sylva is a cute little town, but this restaurant would impress me in any big city.

Lulu's on Main is fantastic! We loved the decor, lots of great art! Of course the food was amazing, we sent our compliments to the chef-the owner came out and visited with us! We loved that! Our waiter Thomas was great! Very professional- he made it feel like we were very important. I'd give it 11 out of 10 stars! Only wish we had tried it sooner! It is now our favorite restaurant in the area- that's high praise, there are some really great eateries in Sylva!

I live in metro Atlanta and Covid ruined my vacation. Instead of Florida, my husband and I found ourselves headed north to trout fish (not a bad substitute vacation!). We were going to stay in Cherokee but failure to plan on our part led to finding a hotel in Sylva instead. From there we found Lulu's. Holy moly it was divine providence!!! The food- AMAZING. The flavors and freshness are palpable. We had an apetizer of pork pot stickers with kimchi. It was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and salty, with the doughy dumplings and fresh kimchi and vegetables on a garnishment of sauce. It was surprising quality and flavor for such a tiny town. The main course- I had lemon chicken piccata and my husband had surf and turf. I could elaborate about how amazing it all was, but I'll just say "GO". Try for yourself. You'll be amazed at what you found in small town usa. (Our waitress wasn't Aliyah and she was attentive without hovering, engaged without being artificial... she made our experience incredible.) We asked about local trout fishing, and she found someone from the kitchen staff knowledgeable with local waters to come talk to us. He then went to grab a map for us from a kiosk just outside the building!! Who does that??? To say we were amazed is an understatement. I usually don't take the time to write reviews but this experience warranted it. Thank you!!

Food size was very small for how much they charged for it I had to go to McDonald's to fill my hunger

Shrimp over done Chocolate martini looked Ike chocolate milk instead of art. Service fair eaten here 5x. 38 anniversary flop. Disappointed.

Best DANG Restaurant ate at in a while!! Great prices, great diversity in the menu, and amazing quality of food and preparations:) Father and Son Business done right!! A real gem in the community and the NC STATE!!! My beau and I went after a solid hike in Blue Ridge Mountains and were very hungry and thirsty. We just left Asheville for a little getaway since we love good food and quaint towns... this town and food didn't disappoint. I used to work in the restaurant industry so I'm not enthusiastic to go out during a holiday weekend esp during covid, but Lulu's on Main was a real delight!!!:). If it wasn't 3 hours away I would be here once a week to get this gem in the restaurant business thriving while politicians and scientists figure out our economy;) So good - pass it on...

Mouth watering experience!! Before my husband and I even left for our trip to the Smoky Mountains, I looked up restaurants that may be open for dine-in due to the virus. Lulu's on Main was one of them and from the looks of the menu, I was SOLD! We ordered the spring rolls and fried green tomatoes with a crab remoulade as an appetizer and both were fabulous!! I ordered the veggie bowl with peanut sauce and added grilled chicken to it...OMG delicious!! So much to eat packed into the bowl, I took half of it with me! My husband ordered a sandwich that had grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and capers on it with a sauce and he said it was fabulous!! I definitely recommend trying this quaint place for lunch or dinner. I would drive out of the way to eat there again for sure!! And I would probably order the exact same thing because it was so good!!

I can't say enough good things about Lulu's on Main in Sylva. The restaurant itself is spacious and airy, yet also feels cozy at the same time. I had a hard time making a choice about what to order for lunch because there were so many tasty sounding options. I settled on the Mick's Meatloaf Patty Melt and was not disappointed. It seriously may be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The staff was friendly, efficient and accommodating. If they were open on Sundays, I would absolutely come here again for dinner tomorrow.

It's been almost a year now since Ive been to Lulu's, this was also my first visit to the restaurant. It was a pretty slow day, there were three of us in our party, and two other couples. The food was ok however our waitress was not. We all ran out of water (remember not busy so this shouldn't have happened) she wasn't all that friendly either. We had talked about if we should tip her or not but my friend is super sweet and still gave her a generous tip. I'm doing this review not because of the food or the waitresses attitude, I'm warning people to make sure you double check your bank statements to make sure what you put on the receipt is what was taken from your account. Our waitress apparently thought my friend tip wasn't enough and gave herself an additional $25.00. So please no matter where you go always check your accounts to make sure this doesn't happen to you.

Great food,service, ambience. We will return here when next we are in the area. Loved the art and decor.

I have been a very long time fan of lulu's forever. Full disclosure I have only visited about three times in the past four years. Which is a change from almost daily in the late 90s. Tonight i ordered the rib eye special with a garlic truffle butter. It came with this amazing side of roasted creamed corn and cauliflower. It was transplendant. Probably hands down one of my favorite meals ever! I should have taken a picture when it first came out. I was greedy and it smelled amazing. This pic is all I could manage..

Excellent, unusual sandwiches. We enjoyed our late August visit after checking out the positive reviews. Our lunch sandwiches were delicious and served attentively. Covid precautions were appreciated.
