Yelp
This hotel was perfect for a Giants game! Not only was the proximity amazing, but the staff really went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Every person we encountered from front desk, door, and bar were so nice and offered great suggestions for food and trips for after the game. The room was spacious and comfortable, and I loved the blackout blinds! We could see the stadium from our room which was nice and the rooftop bar had amazing views of the stadium and the bay. So happy with our stay and know we will be back soon. Tip: they offer valet parking, but it's pricy. We opted to take transit into SF and walk from Caltrains. It was a quick 5 minute walk from SF station and the train ride was $10 bucks.

Yelp
$114 with tax to valet the car. No privacy between bedroom and bathroom (clear glass partition). Floor is some type of synthetic material. Empty soap containers in the shower. Bed is a single cover (no sheets). Will not return.

Yelp
We checked in for an overnight staycation as we were going to a Warriors game down the street at Chase Center. Overall, the aesthetic of the property is minimalist, sterile and modern. The rooms are decently sized for a hotel room in San Francisco. We had two queen beds and they were a little oversized for regular queen beds. The room was clean and orderly. Nearly floor to ceiling windows with nightshades to black out the room as well as the bathroom. There are robes and slippers in the closet if needed. Small fridge in the room. Loved the scent of their bathroom amenities. In addition to the standard, there was also a makeup remover towel and a little kit with a nail file, cotton pads, swabs. One thing I really appreciated about the room was the flooring. No carpet! I tend to think hotel room carpets are disgusting regardless however clean it may appear! These floors had the appearance of carpet but it was a different material which felt cleaner overall. There is iced water in the lobby to refill water bottles. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. There's also coffee in the lobby in the morning as well as food for purchase like fruit cups and some limited baked goods from Craftsman and Wolves. This was a pleasant surprise as we love C&W. There isn't much in the way of restaurants on the property -- other than the rooftop Cavana, which doesn't allow children after a certain time at night. You'd have to walk to Chase Center for some food options, or up towards Oracle Park. The only reason I can't give the 5th star is for the outrageous parking fee. Its only valet which is $80 for non game/event nights. And because it was a Warrior game night, the rate automatically goes up to $100+ taxes! Dynamic pricing for hotel parking is WILD! No parking discounts for hotel guests. Supposedly, this rate is lower than what other hotels in the area charge on event nights. The valet staff was nice, however their texting to request car service system was not working during our stay. And it takes a good at least 15minutes for them to retrieve your car since they park elsewhere from the hotel. Make sure you allocate the time if you need to leave by a certain time.

Yelp
Our stay at Luma was great! Room was clean and spacious. View was nice. Staff is friendly and always has a smile on. The bathroom is so posh, with a spacious shower and a screen that goes up and down, and fancy toiletries. My husband went to the Latin fusion restaurant and said it was expensive but worth it (he's Argentine so what he says goes!). They have a robo food delivery option for no extra cost, which is helpful if you arrive there late at night. And it's close to a couple of solid food options. Only meh thing is that there is only valet parking and it's expensive.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel ten stars, I would!! From the fantastic valet who greets you to the beautiful decor the best part is the location. This hotel is in such a perfect location!! You can walk to a baseball game or a basketball game. In either direction, you will see restaurants, beautiful architecture, and palm trees! You almost forget you are surrounded by water. We stayed on the 8th floor and had a view of the city and the water. The rooms were so lovely, and the beds were so comfortable. This is a new hotel, so everything was updated and high-tech. I will always stay here when I come to town. It takes you away from the tourist part, where it is so busy, to more of the live, work, and play area! It was fun walking back with all the Warrior fans!! This is my hotel of choice whether I come to the San Fran for a game or not!!!

Yelp
Possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many hotels and traveled a lot. Me and my family stayed here for a giants game. This hotel is top notch so clean so nice the staff is friendly just some of the coolest little things about this place everything was high end and high tech. I loved it. Highly recommend

Yelp
I stayed here last weekend while I was up in the city. Very nice and clean hotel that is a stone's throw from both Oracle Park and Chase Center. The room was very nice. Very clean with most amenities. Just no hair dryer and no microwave. It would have been good to have both as there is hardly any restaurants. There's only a coffee place in the lobby. You would have to drive to Market Street for any places to eat. The room stayed the same when I returned on the afternoon. It was not made at all unlike other hotels/motels. It would have been nice to see it clean up. However I didn't mind for the most part. Both reasons are why I am only giving this hotel three stars. Please see my review for their restaurant on the 17th floor. You may thank me after you read it.

Yelp
My husband and I had a last minute work trip end of March and stayed at Luma, it was our first time. We are so glad we did. We felt safe and it was clean there. It is walking distance to Oracle Park. Our room was very nice and clean with a nice view. I was stuck in a meeting and the front desk was very accommodating and allowed a late check out. I forget my 3 in 1 charger in the hotel room. I called and Linda in housekeeping went above and beyond to get my charger back to me. Luma will be our go to hotel when in SF from now on.

Julie R.

Yelp
This was a perfect location for the chase center or oracle stadium. The lobby cafe had the best coffee I've ever had and the cookies were also quite delish. The rooftop bar (Cavana) was a nice bonus. Best homemade chips and guacamole and craft cocktails with spectacular views. All in all a great stay.

Yelp
Stayed here for a San Francisco Giants game. Got an early check in and a $30 food credit by booking directly on their website. They also had an online check in which made it simple. The service and staff are very helpful and professional. There's also cute robots that deliver food to the rooms. There's a little coffee shop connected to the hotel. They also have a roof top restaurant but you have to access it outside of the hotel. You can use your $30 credit at these two locations. Our room was clean and contemporary. We had a water and stadium view. You will need to use your key to ride up and down the elevator. The only compliant I had was the music from the Cavana restaurant and bar was really loud. We were on the 11th floor and could hear it until 11:30pm. We were also next to the elevator so that was annoying but glad we got the extra early check in. We took Uber for our entire trip. I was told parking was $80 a night. They did have valet. The location was great for the Giants game. Super close. We planned on staying in San Francisco longer but wasn't sure how safe San Francisco was. This location was great to walk to the game. Maybe things will get better in the Bay Area and we will stay longer.

J L.

Yelp
The Pros - High tech, clean room; great shower; comfy beds; nice amenities like robes and slippers; very friendly staff; no "resort fee"; walking distance to Chase Center. The Cons- No made to order breakfast - only a small coffee/pastry/yogurt parfait type of place in the lobby with long lines. Not a lot of food places near by; our refrigerator didn't work.

Augustine W.

Yelp
Stayed here for five nights recently. No car to park here so I ubered and walked to my destinations. The place was a good location and I never did feel unsafe in the area. The bathroom was nicely equipped but no microwave or fridge in room was tough. The front desk staff were nice and attentive and helped with areas or the hotel that otherwise would have confused us as first timers. The roof deck was nice. I just went up to have a look. I didn't not buy any food or drinks there. The room is modernized and very nice. The push button for shades for window and window from bathroom into bedroom is nice. Also there is a light in bathroom that is motion sensing to ease those middle of night bathroom trips. The do not disturb is also a push button for electronic ease. I would stay here again!

Chiara H.

Yelp
This hotel is new and gorgeous, and the staff are super nice. The rooms are well appointed, with some really cool features. There are blackout shades, excellent toiletries in the bathroom, a steamer for your clothes, and robes and slippers. The location is also ideal, especially if you are going to an event at Chase Center or to a game at Oracle Park. The coffee shop in the hotel is amazing with great pastries. There are only three small things that are not "perfect" about the rooms, and I want to mention them for the sake of being completely transparent for other travelers. First, the beds are quite soft. I know that seems great, but if you're not used to it, it's not the best for sleeping. Second, you cannot use your fire stick on the TV. They do have Google cast, but it's kind of annoying to use it because you can only use one person's phone to control streaming services on the TV. Finally... And this is a bit odd... The "carpet" is more like woven recycled plastic or something. I'm not kidding. That must be why they have provided slippers, because unless you are wearing socks, it's like walking around on an outdoor rug. I am sure they did it for durability, but it's not comfortable. Regardless of these three things, I will still stay here again. It's gorgeous, and again, the staff is so great.

Nik H.

Yelp
This was my first time staying here. I was in SF on business and this was booked for me. I really enjoyed the stay. The room was super comfortable and modern. Bed and pillows were awesome. There was maid service every day so the room was always in great shape. I loved the walk in shower and there was plenty of hot water in the morning. The automatic blackout drapes were outstanding. Although there was a refrigerator in the room, there was no coffee maker. The hotel common areas were spotless clean. There is a fitness center on the 3rd floor. The hotel staff made sure that you had everything you wanted. There was no restaurant in the hotel for breakfast but there was an excellent coffee shop off the lobby that had great coffee and some pastries that were really good. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar for dinner but there is a separate business on site that operates a dinner place and bar on the rooftop. It is a Latin influence so they have many small dishes and tequila cocktails. Prices are about average for SF. The scene was not really my cup of tea but give it a try. It really isn't an issue as there are MANY places within a 15 minute walk that serve all types of food and cocktails.

Yelp
GORGEOUS & NEW!!!This has officially become my favorite hotel now! It's gorgeously modern, less than a year NEW, in a great location (walking distance to Oracle Park and Chase Center), and extremely reasonable on the wallet. I made a reservation online in early January. At the time, there was a special that included early check in, late check out and a glass of wine at the rooftop bar. 2 days before our arrival date, I received a text message to pre-register online, which I did. I then called the day before with LOTS of questions - I spoke with Russell (multiple times: twice before arriving and three times during our weekend stay) who is phenomenal! That man deserves a raise and ownership stake for weathering all of my endless questions and still providing superb, kind and generous customer service! So the special was no longer offered because the rooftop bar, Cavana, had just opened the day before we arrived, but Russell upgraded our room and also provided a bottle of red wine as we were celebrating a birthday that weekend. He also secured a last minute reservation at Cavana shortly after our check-in, which was only the second day that Cavana had opened for business. We valeted our car, which is pricey ($85.50 with tax per day) but extremely convenient and worth it to us for that weekend- we didn't have to try to find parking nearby and/or park and walk in the rain. When we were ready to leave the hotel anytime, we simply texted valet so that our car would be ready when we walked out. As a new hotel, it's CLEAN, gorgeous and modern. Russell gave us a room facing China Basin (so we didn't have a construction site view - thanks again, Russell!). The room and bathroom are so well appointed - finally, designers were smart about a hotel room, especially from my germaphobe point of view. There are electric shades, both black out and sheers on the windows, and another on a window between the bathroom wall and sleep area (which is really convenient for any woman who tried to put on make up in a hotel bathroom: although the LED lighting in this bathroom is GREAT and better than most, being able to open the bathroom window shade for additional NATURAL light from the exterior windows is everything!). There is a huge, soft close, barn door and an LED sensor nightlight as you enter (finally a sensor nightlight in a hotel bathroom!). The toilet has 2 flush options, the countertop is higher than most (maybe a new standard?), the deep sink is wide and has a single lever that is wall mounted (spacious & smart again!), there is a separate BLACK washcloth labeled "make-up", and beautifully concrete(?) tiled shower has an LED light inside, bar foot rest, rainfall showerhead AND hand-held wand with strong pressure, small hanging bar inside the shower, seamless wide glass door with towel bar on the outside and a hook adjacent to the wall - these are all small details that MAKE SENSE and that we truly appreciate. The flooring is some unusually rubbery plastic (recycled/recyclable?) material - they provided hotel branded house slippers which Russell told me were one-time/complimentary (but per the tv menu, they sell such for $10 also); comfy robes are also provided for use. We loved that you can order room service from 2 restaurants nearby that deliver to the room, however the latest order is 9:30p. We would most definitely stay again.

Clare C.

Yelp
Loud music every night on the rooftop. Especially on Sunday. It is a complete nuisance as a guest and in the entire neighborhood. It is truly too bad they don't play life music inside or reduce the volume.

Sheryl M.

Yelp
The staff was outstanding. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The hotel is new so the rooms were up to date and chic. I loved the bathroom shower tile. Our room had a view of a building. At least the building was new so it wasn't that bad to look at. The rooms were kinda on the small side, which is what I would expect in SF. The only negative was valet. We had to wait about 20 minutes to valet as there was a line of cars wrapped around the corner waiting to valet as well. Valet was also $100 plus tax. In all, it was a very convenient location to the Chase Center.

Tori R.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my brief stay here. Location-Location-Location. It is conveniently located by the Pier, Oracle Park, and Chase Center. The rooms are contemporary and clean. There is an adorable local market across the street. Eduardo Martinez was very helpful with any special requests. The front desk could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. Everyone was lovely. I would like for them to change their pet policy. This area is far enough away from the chaos in San Fran, which allowed for an enjoyable stay. It was also near Treasure Island, where the event that we were attending was located. I would stay here again. Oh, we ate at Miller & Lux nearby, which was yummy.

Taylor S.

Yelp
I am not exaggerating when I say my stay at Luma may be the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The hotel is beautiful. I love the tech in the room and that you can cast your apps to the tv. The robot brought my Uber eats order to my room so I didn't have to walk down to the lobby to get it. The infused water in the lobby was a great touch, and so is the water/ice dispenser on every floor. The location is great, not too far from SF sights, and is within walking distance of Oracle Park if you're interested in attending a baseball game. The thing that left the biggest impression on me was Luma's SUPERB service. Everyone I encountered at the hotel was so nice and courteous, but I have to give a special shoutout to Sahil; he was amazing! There is absolutely no doubt that I will stay again at Luma next time I'm in SF.

Lindsay W.

Yelp
If you're going to an event at the Chase Center, this is the hotel for you! A quick 10 minute walk to Chase and in a nice, clean area. The room was very clean and comfortable, minus the pillows but what hotel has good pillows? Very nice rooftop bar with fancy drinks and Mexican food. For the convenience of the location and the service, this hotel was worth every penny. My only complaints were the $100 valet parking fee for them to park it in a lot across the street (usually $75, but it was higher due to the concert), and the A/C in the room took over 24hrs to drop the temperature 10 degrees (and it never got to the temperature we set it at). Luckily we found parking at UCSF garage across from the Chase Center for $50 the first night (due to event) and $35 the second.

Kate O.

Yelp
This review is for the hotel cafe. It's great for working - lots of light. There are multi-story ceilings with walls entirely made of glass. The space is clean, contemporary, chic. Lots of plugs. One drawback is the bathroom is on the 3rd floor and you need to ask front desk to let you go upstairs. Coffee and tea is overpriced, but their chocolate gluten-free pastries are surprisingly good. Not too sweet, good texture and flavor.

Richard M.

Yelp
Close to the warriors stadium and extremely close to the giants stadium. This hotel should be rated more than five stars. Very comfortable beds. Also excellent customer service.

Misty T.

Yelp
This hotel is very nice and in a perfect location if you are going to a Giants game or an event at Chase Center. I really have no complaints. Valet is pricy but very convenient. Valet was quick to retrieve our vehicle when we asked for it. But the valet area itself is very, very small. I actually had to back out of it when we left because there were so many cars just sitting there in front of me when we were trying to leave. Check in was super easy. We did the mobile pre-check in and quickly were given our room keys when we arrived. Our room was so nice and had a partial ocean view over the port of San Francisco. The bed was super comfortable and everything was so clean. Would definitely stay again if going to an event near by.

Michele P.

Yelp
This hotel is walking distance to Oracle Park and the Chase Center. It's located in Mission Bay, a relatively safe area. It has a modern vibe. Parking overnight will cost you $80 plus tip. Tips are pooled. I gave this hotel 4 stars because it had no room service or coffee machine in the room. There is a fridge, but no freezer. There was no carpet, which is a plus. Our room was very clean. The walk in shower is fabulous. It has a hand-held shower head. The bed is very comfortable. I usually have some trouble sleeping in hotels, but had no problem here. Nice views and liked the blackout curtains. I was able to take an Uber without issues from the front of the hotel to Haight Ashbury. I will definitely be back. Tips: Bring cash for tips Bring slippers to use in the hotel Bring your own snacks

Queen B.

Yelp
This hotel is nice, but the service was not. Never been here before. Normally, when you check in they would ask is it your first time, if you say no most places usually tell you where everything is. The room had nothing, no water, no coffee nothing. Just shampoo, soap etc.... we had to keep going downstairs for water. All this fancy stuff they are supposed to have, they could have at least put coffee and water in the room. I don't know the purpose of the fridge because there is nothing in it, and if we put anything in it there is no place to heat it. We were going to an event, everyone said to take the T train. When we asked what time it stops running no one knew. We get on the elevator and it opens from the other side. Guy says, you will have to go to the top floor on this elevator. So we had to get off and walk around and start all over. I would say nice hotel, but the service is not to great.

M M.

Yelp
Great Hotel!! Close to Oracle Park and Chase Center. They have robots that will bring stuff to you. Nice amenities and friendly staff. The only problem that I had was kids running and screaming down the hallways and when I was checking out and trying to get my car, it took over an hour. They said "text when your ready for your vehicle and it'll be out front in 10-15 mins." Well that wasn't the case at all. It took over an hour. If it's game day, you need a lot more staff. I had to cancel a reservation for brunch because I wasn't going to make it.

Nikki B.

Yelp
Great location and nice rooms. No coffee anywhere to be found in the hotel. Small details like this would go a long way!

Alexis A.

Yelp
Rooms are very small and overpriced, didnt have a good view of the city & they dont have microwaves in the room so be prepared to eat out only. Ordering food to your room is complicated as well because they require key cards to get up the elevator, so food will not be delivered to your door

Jeremiah M.

Yelp
Great service from the staff, modern feel, and a quick walk to the ballpark. If you get the Premiere Corner King, you may find yourself not wanting to leave the room!

Cher C.

Yelp
Luma is a must stay! Modern, CLEAN, very polite staff. The room is spacious, with a great view. Bed was so comfy and the room was immaculate. The bathroom shower with 2 how do I feel like the bathroom is really cool with a window separator and a electronic privacy screen and a black out shade. Refrigerator in the room was very convenient. Walking distance to Oracle Park and restaurants. Great location.

Xxxx O.

Yelp
It was a busy nite, no one offered us a cart for our luggage The manager was kind enough to come out and help us. It's a new place I guess so they were unorganized with the valet parking one person waiting an hour and a half for their car the next morning. An employee finally walked about 10 guests down to parking structure to get our own cars

Brad J.

Yelp
Very nice Hotel in a nice area. There is a wonderful wine and cheese bar a few steps away and there is also a great market down the block. Not crazy about the flooring in the rooms. It's kind of a plastic woven material. Very odd. Would definitely stay here again, great for attending events at Chase Center or Oracle Park.....but, buyer beware, we did not have a vehicle and they added $114 to our bill for overnight parking. When I contacted them a few days later, they did agree to remove it.

Inga W.

Yelp
This is not a review of my stay, but what kind of hotel doesn't serve breakfast or lunch. Looks like a nice place to stay but no.

Glenn L.

Yelp
Had a great stay at Luma with my family over the weekend. About a 10 minute walk to the chase center. The hotel and room are clean and updated. Staff was very friendly.

Korynn G.

Yelp
My friends were in town for a work party and stayed at the Luma Hotel. Now let me just tell you, I have never been compelled to write a review for somewhere I did not personally stay at. However... Kevin who works the front is the reason behind this review. Kevin not only greets everyone with the same kindness and above par service , but is genuine about it. My friends and their 50 coworkers wanted to go to bar that was local and easy to get to. Kevin made sure to help me find a great place for everyone, checked in with us after the night was done, and made such an impression on me that I am going to recommend this hotel to anyone I know staying in the area. The hotel was clean, nice, and updated but the service was truly exceptional.

Pamela M.

Yelp
Parking $80/day. Only 1 coffee pod in room. No microwave. Location good. Open bathroom.

Sara S.

Yelp
For the price, you can find something better. The staff was very helpful and nice. Our original room was supposed to be the king with Bay view. You could see the Bay but it was beyond lots full of construction and projects. Not a good site or sound. We switched to the other side with a city and canal view which was nice. It just wasn't the cozy vibe we were hoping for. It's more modern and industrial. ( The floor is like a big gym mat?) If that's the style you like, this is a good place. The rooftop restaurant was super good and they have salsa dancing going on too. Still, for more than $400 a night, I would have stayed somewhere different. Location is boring too unless you're going to a game.

Sheila J.

Yelp
Fanciest hotel I've stayed in, even compared to Las Vegas hotels. Auto-blinds were nice. Location is perfect for shows at Chase Center. Easy walk to chase center. We had dinner at the brewery next door, the fried chicken sandwich was delicious. Guest staff and the valet were also really nice. Only minus one star because valet price is $80 with $11tax. And there's no breakfast in the hotel just an expensive coffee shop. I also would only go to the rooftop restaurant for drinks not for small expensive tapas food.

Yelp
We spend 4 nights at this hotel, loved the clean and gym access. There is water for drink at the gym There is. Refrigerator in every room but no coffee maker. Surround area is wonderfull, close to oracle park. Good running path for exercise.

Yelp
We had a great stay at LUMA after attending a Warriors game. Our room was very clean and ultra modern with a decent view of the bay and parking lot. There were robes and slippers available for use and a stuffed dog for purchase. The valet and front desk personnel were very helpful and courteous. Aside from the very steep parking prices, I was very happy with my stay. I'd highly recommend staying here if you are in town for a game or weekend in the City. Also the skybar was fun for a nightcap.

Yelp
Love the hotel. itself ..but Unfortunately, we wanted to escape phones, but we could not order food or watch TV or basically do anything without a phone. Really? Is that a vacation? And then the TV was broken. Epitome of Irony..

Yelp
The best experience! This property is in a class by itself. The staff is wonderful, rooms and views gorgeous. We attended an event at Oracle Park which was literally steps away. Just perfect on every level!

Yelp
If you're looking for a relaxing hotel this isn't it. This hotel is literally a party hotel. The smell of marijuana lingered all through the lobby. The valet cost $80 for any midsize car no matter how long. It's a flat fee. Not only that but that was a shooting early Memorial Day. Needless to say...don't stay here.

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel in the perfect location. One of the best rooms I have ever stayed in with the coolest bathrooms and the largest TV you will ever see in a hotel. Definitely hotel of choice for any game or event when I stay in the city

Yelp
Not sure where other reviewers are coming from, had expected better based on them. The rooms are very small, no suitcase stand or closet. There is no room service. The towels are hard, they literally hurt. Housekeeping service is very slow, and the robot has not delivered anything. The vanity kit was an empty box. The floor hadn't been vacuumed thoroughly. I was told there was no room upgrade available, that upgrades were only for a large groups. Front desk service poor. Cafe staff are very nice. Beds are comfortable. Great hairdryer ... and steamer is a very nice touch. Good location for a giants game or Chase center visit.

Yelp
My husband and I have stayed at the Luma twice in two weeks. We love this hotel! We have had the pleasure of being assisted by Russell and Nahily so far and are throughly impressed with their professional service. Due to ongoing medical care at UCSF we will be staying at Luma often. Carvana Restaurant on the 17th floor is a must, and Gus' market on the same street was a plus.

Yelp
4+stars! Well, 4.5 the .5 lacking is cost of valet parking which is $75 a day, but it is SF! Location wise this newer modern hotel was very close to a concert we went to at Chase Center which is 4-5 blocks away, and the Oracle where the Giants play is also walking distance. I was impressed that a Saturday night was less than $300! Pros: easy check in, new, big TV, location, slippers/bathrobe and good amenities including access to free water, sky lounge and gym along with room service and a coffee shop in lobby. Cons: small room, no microwave or coffee maker, price of parking, bed was also hard/a bit uncomfy

Yelp
Nam made our stay for our 25th Anniversary absolutely special!!! Everyone on site was friendly and helpful (including the robot!) Bar was a nice atmosphere before walking over to Giants Stadium. It was a quick 5 minute walk to the game. Bed was very comfortable and the room was super clean. Nice work out room as well. Definitely will stay here again.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel...loved the great view of SF and the ball park. The room was very clean and overall the hotel looked very new and clean with nice staff. The rooftop bar was a big draw so make reservations if you plan to go there for dinner.
