"A 14-seater restaurant with an intimate atmosphere that is due in part to the candlelight (lume in Italian). Venetian chef Riccardo Suppa regales guests with an appetising single set menu that gives pride of place to seafood and organic vegetables. Everything is made in-house, from the pasta to the bread prepared using heirloom wheat flour. Alice, the chef's partner, is an accomplished hostess who knows her way around a wine list featuring carefully selected Italian labels. On the menu: cicchetti (Venetian canapés), scallop crudo, paccheri with chanterelles, vanilla panna cotta etc." - Michelin Inspector

What an amazing experience! Tucked away in small street is this charming restaurant. Cuisine, service and hospitality were all exceptional. As if the world class cuisine wasn’t impressive enough, the service by the Chef’s partner in the dining room told a story that made the visit all the more memorable. The wine list is sourced from mostly Italian, low intervention winemakers. I’d highly recommend the wine pairing option, as each selection really paired well with the food. This wonderful little restaurant is sure to impress even the most sophisticated palates. I highly recommend Lume and hope to return again someday.

Such a beautiful experience - intimate and perfect from first to last. Alice’s gentle front of house service was impeccable, from her deft selection of a superior wine to the one we first suggested, to her careful and enthusiastic explanations of Riccardo’s sublime dishes. Every course was wonderful - interesting, incredibly fresh and seasonal, innovative but very much focused on the beauty of the produce itself. Highly recommended - we would most certainly return. Thank you Alice and Riccardo!

Lume was an incredible dining experience. One of the best meals we had during a week in Bordeaux. Service and atmosphere are elegant yet simple, comfortable, present, and unobtrusive. The chef blends flavors which are bold yet perfectly executed. Presentation of dishes is fantastic. I assume this restaurant will have a star very soon and it absolutely deserves it. We will definitely return on our next trip to Bordeaux.

Absolutely amazing! Truly a culinary experience in the heart of Bordeaux. The waitress is very experienced and tentative. The menu courses are elegantly presented and thoughtfully composed. Will go back again!

The best meal in Bordeaux, somewhat ironic that it was Italian and not French. We were only visiting for a few days so we wanted each meal to be special. Dinner here was fantastic. It is a small restaurant by a husband wife team of owners— with the kitchen run by the husband, and front of house by the wife Alice. She speaks excellent English with a bit of an accent but is very thoughtful and thorough. Her husband is Venetian. She explained the menu items for 10 mins, and she is clearly passionate about the food, which is good because her husband probably spent all day preparing for the dinner service! Reservations are a must and highly recommended.

A charming, small restaurant in the medieval section of Bordeaux. Fantastic food, all home made. Portions are generous and beautifully presented. Very affordable prices for the 3 course menu. Because it is a tiny place, there are only 2 choices for each course( but in our experience both options were delicious). The husband and wife duo who run this restaurant clearly care about quality and about fresh ingredients. The olive oil comes from his uncle’s farm in Italy!

Delicious food and great hospitality. Probably one of the best restaurants in Bordeaux. They deserve a Michelin star.
