Yelp
First time dining at Lume on Friday night and we've already made a reservation to come back.
Restaurant: Great ambiance for a West Village Italian restaurant (dimly lit, but warm), good spot for a date night or dinner with close friends. The service was excellent -- Alfredo was attentive and personable, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations.
Drinks: A lot of interesting cocktails on the menu, the Vesper Highline was one of the better martinis I've had. Good selection of wine at reasonable prices, I enjoyed the Super Tuscan.
Food: Truly outstanding. We split the arancini ai porcini, bruschetta con stracciatella, rosemary focaccia, short rib bolognese, goat cheese cavatelli, and hanger steak. The bruschetta was one of the best I've ever had in the US or Italy -- next time we'll need to each get our own order. Our pastas were a nice balance -- the cavatelli was simple and light, while the short ribs were tender and flavorful.
Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood and an immediate favorite. We can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
