I had a great experience with Lumiere! The program was extremely organized with milestones, targets and deadlines in place. The entire team was extremely supportive and helped me move from one goal to another, right from sketching out possible topics to write my research paper on, to polishing it up before submission. As a high school student, I am certain that Lumiere is a great place to learn and hone the skills of researching and writing a paper. I had a great mentor and am sure all mentors with Lumiere are equally good. My mentor is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the area I was working on, and has been incredibly helpful and encouraging throughout the program. The program manager, publication team and writing-center coaches also supported me throughout this journey through their feedback and guidance. This program has been extremely valuable in teaching me how to approach a research paper, attention to details, and has helped me up my technical writing skills. It goes over and beyond the high school curriculum to help students be college-ready. I would definitely recommend this program to student interested in research.

I had the opportunity to work with Lumiere to write a research paper about my topic of interest (Particle Physics). As a high school student, I think this program was a wonderful experience, equipping me with essential skills required for writing a research paper, such as retrieving academic papers from databases specific to physics, synthesising their complex information, and understanding the formal academic style of writing. Most of all, this program helped me with gaining more insights on particle physics and the quantum world, something that isn't discussed in detail at high school level. Completing my research paper was a significant milestone, and the support from the program made it achievable. I appreciated the flexibility they offered and their understanding and encouragement that allowed me to refine my work effectively. Lumiere has greatly enriched my academic journey, and I highly recommend it to students looking to deepen their research skills and exploring their favourite subject in more depth. Joining the Lumiere program during the last summer was one of the best decisions I made. I went into it hoping to explore a topic I was passionate about and I came out not only with a deep understanding of the topic, but also with real research skills and confidence I didn’t have before. One of the things I love most was how flexible and supportive the program was. Since it was during the summer, I was worried about how I’d manage my schedule, but the mentor I worked with was incredibly understanding. We were always able to find a time that worked for both of us, and that really made the experience smooth and stress-free. My mentor was a huge part of what made Lumiere special. He didn’t just explain things he challenged me to think deeply, to ask better questions, and to take ownership of my research. I always felt encouraged, when I got stuck or wasn’t sure where to go next. I never felt like I was just completing a task; I felt like I was learning how to think like a real researcher. By the end of the program, I had written a full length literature review on a topic I truly care about. That sense of accomplishment still means a lot to me. I’d definitely recommend Lumiere to any high school student who’s curious and motivated. It’s not easy, but it’s so worth it.

I had a great experience with the Lumiere! My mentor, Clara, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and supportive throughout the entire research process. She really helped me grow both as a writer and a thinker. However, I do want to mention that the program is quite expensive at $4,500. While they do offer financial aid for students who qualify, this can still be a significant investment for families who may not meet the eligibility criteria. That said, the mentorship and structure were very valuable, and I appreciated the opportunity to pursue independent research in such a supportive environment.

I had an incredible experience with Lumiere, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity. Firstly, I received full financial aid, which made it possible for me to participate in this research program. Without that support, completing such a high-level project would not have been possible for me. I was paired with a PhD candidate from Cardiff University—one of the UK’s top universities—which was a huge privilege. Working under the guidance of a mentor from such an elite institution gave me exposure that I never imagined I’d have access to at this stage in my academic journey. Lumiere made that connection possible. The program gave me my first real research experience, and I was able to complete my project successfully thanks to the structure and support it provided. Following the research phase, Lumiere selected some of the top-performing students to support with publication, and I was fortunate to be one of them. They covered my entire publication fee, and I was able to publish my research in a reputed journal: The National High School Journal of Science. This milestone in my academic career wouldn’t have been possible without Lumiere. I’m incredibly thankful for their support and the doors this program has opened for me.

The Lumiere Research Scholars Program has been a turning point in my academic journey. It not only helped me strengthen my profile but also gave me an opportunity to connect with mentors who are currently studying at some of the world’s best universities. Their guidance inspired me to think critically and explore topics I had never thought about before. Through the program, I developed a regular reading habit, explored multiple research papers, and learned how to structure and write a research paper professionally. I was introduced to new websites, tools, and resources that expanded my perspective as a learner. Most importantly, I learned how to manage my time effectively, balance my academics with research, and stay disciplined. Lumiere didn’t just teach me research skills—it made me more confident, curious, and future-ready. I'm truly thankful to the Lumiere team for such a meaningful and empowering experience.

I had a fantastic experience with Lumiere Education’s research program! I first heard about Lumiere from a graduate of my school who was accepted to Brown University with full financial aid. She described it as one of her most meaningful experiences, having already done independent research before. At first, I didn’t believe a program like this could offer so much to high school students. But after going through it myself, I realized how transformative it truly is. Though I was initially intimidated, my first meeting with my mentor made it clear I was exactly where I needed to be. I spent months studying phonology and phonetics, learning technical and statistical tools, collecting and analyzing data. With guidance from the research writing team, I was able to structure and shape my paper. I’m truly grateful to Lumiere team, especially my mentor, for all their support. After submitting my work, Lumiere even offered to cover the cost of publishing my paper because of its quality. I was amazed by their generosity and dedication to helping high school students, especially those with limited financial resources.
