I’m not usually a fan of bitter or sour coffee flavors and tend to stick to tea or latte. However, at Lumine Coffee in Kitsilano, I really enjoyed their smooth, well-balanced espresso flight. Each had its own unique character, making the experience surprisingly pleasant. Especially, the latte was amazing-creamy and smooth, so I didn’t need to add any sugar to enjoy it. I went with a friend who’s a coffee expert, and she loved her flight, confirming that Lumine serves quality coffee. For someone like me who’s not very knowledgeable about coffee, Lumine is a welcoming place where both enthusiasts and beginners can find something to enjoy!

Stopped by this café in the afternoon, and honestly, I didn’t expect to love it so much! The raspberry latte was amazing—smooth, fragrant, with the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. Even the Cortado, which I usually don’t like, was surprisingly good—rich but not too sharp, with a nice smooth taste. And the peach pastry? Absolutely delicious—juicy, soft, and the perfect match for coffee. But seriously, almond croissant, bring more of these! It’s clearly the most popular one, and by 4 PM, it was already gone—you guys need to stock up! The vibe is great, the staff are friendly hipsters—polite but chill, with this nice touch of gratitude in the way they interact. Super cozy spot, definitely coming back!

Google
What an amazing find! We have been back every morning and even travelled back from downtown to here when we moved hotels. The pastries are delicious and you have the option to heat them up. My personal favourite is the hazelnut and banana crossiant. Coffee is the best we've found in BC Vancouver too. They do rewards points and in the week we've visited we already had enough for a free coffee and cake.

I'm still dreaming about the croissant and the cinnamon bun with almonds from Lumine. I wish I lived in Vancouver so I could go every day. I always have a great experience at the café, great service and great coffee! They always have something new for those looking for an interesting experience.

I recently visited Lumine Cafe on W4th again today and was still impressed by my experience. I ordered a flat white coffee, and it was absolutely delightful—rich, smooth, and perfectly crafted. The cookie I tried was decent, but the coffee truly stole the show. Last time I tried their mocha, flight drip, espresso, and cortado — everything was great. I’ve attached the image of the menu board for their offerings and prices. The vibe of the cafe is fantastic, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it a great spot to relax. I parked conveniently on the street along W4th, making it easy to pop in. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Lumine Cafe for coffee lovers looking for a cozy place to unwind. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Google
My one and only favourite coffee shop in Kits! Both the coffee drinks and the tea lattes are great and the double baked croissants are also one of the best options in town! The table by the window is my favourite as it is warm and bright and the vibe is just amazing!

Google
A nice space with a fairly wide selection of baked goods that all looked good. There was a limited selection of sandwiches but I enjoyed the flavours and the almond croissant is pretty good as well.

Google
One of the few cafes that offer drip flight (at reasonable price too!). Love the wide variety of coffee they serve and imo one of the best coffee places in town. Barista was super helpful and knows how to brew good coffee. This place does get filled up super fast by wfc people. Would recommend arriving earlier if you’d like to dine in. They do have a back patio that’s open during warmer weather though. I also got an almond croissant ($7.5). I have slight mixed filling about this croissant. It’s very flat and thus not as flaky as I’d like them to be, however I really enjoy how rich the almond filling was. Overall, really enjoyable experience and would go back to try their banana hazelnut croissant.

Yelp
I've visited Lumine a few times in the past, but this time I went for the Nomsmag Fall Food Fest to try their special limited items. Apple Hojicha Cube Croissant cube croissant, within its layers filled with caramelized apple. Topped with a swirl of smoky Hojicha buttercream and bites of buttery sable cookies. -I really liked the caramelized apple filling and hojicha buttercream on top of the cube croissant. They blended nicely , and I thoroughly enjoyed this item. Hojicha Chai Tea Latte Hojicha tea latte (oat milk) with an additional mix of our spicy chai topped with brown sugared oat cream and cinnamon. -The cinnamon added a hint of flavor to the hojicha latte. It wasn't overly sweet, making it a perfect pairing with the cube croissant. Besides these items, Lumine's drinks and baked goods were delicious. I've tried their scones and croissants in the past. I highly recommend this place for enjoying these treats.

Yelp
What I ordered: - oat latte - drip coffee - crinkle cookie - butter croissant highlights: I was very pleasantly surprised with their oat latte. It's very light, slightly acrid, and highly recommend because it didn't leave me feeling heavy in my stomach unlike some oat lattes do. I loved the croissant. It was crispy on the outside (but not crunchy), soft on the inside, with a lovely butter flavour. (Pro tip) dip your butter croissant in the last 1/4 of your latte iykyk study/work space: 4.5/5 They have seating space in the back which was bright and clean. The atmosphere is relatively quiet and super pleasant. Truth be told, I completely forgot that I was on such a busy street! If cafe hopping is your thing, follow me and I'll show you all the best spots! @yvrcafescene (instagram/tiktok)

Yelp
My favorite hidden gem of a cafe along w 4th. Easy to miss because it's tucked away, but definitely worth stopping at! Their pastries are delicious but my favorite is their iced matcha latte. Super affordable and delicious! I'm here at least once a week and am always satisfied.

Yelp
I randomly stopped here to refuel after an intense workout at Pure Barre a few doors down. So glad I did as the flat white is really good here! I can usually tell if the drink is going to be good by the steamed milk being poured into the espresso. If the milk texture is watery, it's gonna be like a latte. If it's a bit firm or thick, you can usually still see the art work left on the mug after drinking it all. The crema is a bit too strong for me here but the texture and taste are still good. Another surprise was the croissant. I had the double baked bourbon caramel pecan croissant and it was amazing! It was lightly crispy and flakey. So you can hear the crunch when you bite into it. The filling was sweet but not sickly so. It's seriously good! It may look small with limited seating but there is lots more tables at the back. I love the washroom door which kinda blends into the wall furnishings. I'll definitely stop here for coffee and more pastries when I'm in this area.

Yelp
Cocoa Honey Espresso This was so delicious and fragrant! You can really taste the honey blended with the espresso. I was surprised at how fragrant it was! Its almost subtle if you don't realize it but once you do its amazing. The drink itself is actually a frappe (meaning its an iced drink) but you can ask for it hot which is what I did! I almost wonder what it tastes like cold. I felt that once the drink cooled down, it felt a little too sweet for me at the end However I do recommend you try this drink if you love honey and coffee or have a sweet tooth. Ps the customer after me ordered the same thing too! I think this drink is unique, I've always heard about honey and coffee but never found the right place to try it. Overall, I think Lumine coffee has become my favourite go-to coffee shop!

Yelp
Came on a Saturday afternoon. Not too busy in the back of plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's a bathroom and free wifi. Line moved fast and drinks are made pretty quickly. The interior is super cute. There are outlets against the walls and on the big pole. Got a chocolate croissant and it was really crumbly and yummy. The iced matcha latte is also good. I would come back!

Yelp
This is a small but evidently popular coffee shop that also makes their own baked goods! I was there on a Sunday around noon which is probably the peak time and it was super busy, but I did manage to grab a table. There was a long line but it moved at a reasonable pace and the two baristas were friendly and seemed like they were still being careful with each drink. I didn't try the coffee myself, but I got the impression that they really know their coffee here. They have a wide selection of coffee/tea drinks (I was excited because they had not only matcha lattes, but also hojicha and genmaicha) and baked goods, and a few sandwiches, one meat and one vegetarian. A few of the baked goods are vegan but nothing vegan and savoury. I got the sun-dried tomato caprese focaccia sandwich, a chou au craquelin, and an iced genmaicha latte. The sandwich was good with fresh focaccia and lots of mozzarella. I really liked the addition of the sun-dried tomatoes which added a pop of flavour. It was a little too oily for me, though. I loved the chou au craquelin! The texture of the crunchy pastry with the smooth cream inside was a delight, and the pastry cream had such a nice flavour with real vanilla bean. The genmaicha was great too. There's a nice atmosphere both in the cafe and outside on the patio, making it a great spot for a relaxed light meal or snack.

Yelp
Oh my god YUM!!!!! It's been a joke for a little while to find the best almond croissant in Vancouver. This is because our friend swears San Francisco has the best almond croissants in the world. Well... I think we have found the best almond croissant in Vancouver. It wasn't as buttery as the San Francisco croissant, but the almond paste inside hits the spot in every way, and the flakiness of the croissant is fabulous. My husband and I got a latte and a mocha this morning and he really enjoyed his latte and I enjoyed my mocha. There was only one person working, but he was very attentive despite the growing line. Our drinks were made perfectly. We didn't check out the backside of this coffee shop, but I've heard there is an amazing amount of seating, and seems like a really great place to relax, read a book or work. I'm sure you can also enjoy a coffee and chat with a friend as well. We will definitely be back as we saw some really amazing Flavoured croissants that we've never even thought of.

Yelp
Nice hipster coffee shop with good espresso tonics and pours. Seating is pretty limited but probably better when it's warmer and seating outside is more of an option. It would be cool if they had heaters outside. Great and friendly baristas. I found them to really love their craft. Wi-Fi and plugs throughout the building. Many people clearly on dates or meetings. If you're in the area definitely stop by.

Yelp
My fav matcha latte in town! I get it with almond milk and it's really tasty. Cute little cafe, very quiet. The guy at the counter is very friendly. Pastries are reasonably priced.

Yelp
My friend and I took a long stroll and we ended up in this neighborhood. It was a hot day and we wanted something cold to drink, so we stopped by Barrio Coffee. We were initially planning to go to the boba shop across the street, but Barrio looked nicer (more seats and cool vibes) we decided to come here instead. I'm glad we did! I had an iced matcha latte and almond croissant. The pastries all looked really good, and almond croissant was one of the best I've had. They had some more pastries resting on the baking pan rack, so it looked like they bake their pastries in-house - very nice! Matcha latte was smooth throughout and delicious. The environment - many seats but well spaced out, clean bathroom, air conditioned, and I appreciated seeing well-maintained plants. I'm used to the overpriced Seattle coffee shops, so this was a really nice change of pace. I wish I have easy access to this coffee shop.

Yelp
I was in the neighbourhood, so I could get a chance to try the coffee at Lumine Coffee. It's always on my to-try list. The signage on W4th is nice and clean. The front of the coffee shop only has a few seats. There are some outdoor seatings outside the coffee shop. Basically, once guests step into the coffee shop, it is the counter or cashier. Once guests have placed an order, they have to walk aside and wait for the beverages and/or food. The most awesome part is the majority of the seats are behind the coffee shop. I love their interior design. Each wall, lights, furniture selection, colours, tone, and etc give the coffee shop a very nice, warm and cozy look and feel. When it's summer time, guests can open the patio doors, enjoy the outdoor space inside the coffee shop. It is facing a courtyard of the complex. If you are not sure what I am talking about, go check it out. It's quite cool. The coffee beverage pricing is affordable. I personally feel the pastries are a bit overpriced but that's okay as long as the coffee beverages are excellent. The coffee shop is on busy W4th. It's better for guests to walk to it instead of driving and parking there.

Yelp
Nice place. Have had better Americano which lacked that creamy foam and smoothness. There was a slightly bitter aftertaste each sip. I didn't enjoy it and could not return it as I taken it to go. Maybe I was just unlucky with the barista that made my drink.

Yelp
Our #1 for baked goods and coffee. Best service in the city and they did a thing that always impresses me: turned a horrible space into a great one bringing up the average of the block! I'm finding so many coffee places to be pretentious but this one rides the line where us normies feel welcome also.
google avatar

Yelp
Deliciously curated menu! I got a decaf Americano and while the flavour was excellent, it did keep my up all night :/ Otherwise, the food is great, service impeccable and location is beautiful

Yelp
Nice chill place to sit at and read! They don't seem to have much space from the front, but they do have a little nook at the back with like 4 tables. Nice, secluded, and quiet. Had their hot chocolate and a ginger cookie during the 45 minutes ish I was there. Enjoyed it with my ebook while my fiancé did some work on his laptop (there's free wifi!). Lovely place!

Yelp
We tried two pour overs yesterday, with Ecuador n Colombia beans. They were both very interesting especially we could compare them alongside one another. Service was also swift n friendly ^^ AND the almond croissant!! Must never forget their almond croissants! I'm never keen on them but the reviews are so true! it was not too sweet, and indeed very crispy! It's just yum! The only down side is that seating can be tight. Will go back for their beans though.

Yelp
Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Overall: 5/5 Such a cute gem in the kits neighbourhood! This cafe opened a couple of months ago and isn't just adorable but the pastries are delicious as well! I didn't try any of the drinks so can't comment on those but I tried 4 pastries: Almond Croissant, Banana Hazelnut Croissant, Morning Glory Muffin, and the Oatmeal Raisin cookie - all were absolutely delicious with the almond croissant and muffin being my favourites I came quite late in the day and the staff was super nice and chatty as well! I would definitely come back to try a drink and other pastries. Note that the cafe doesn't have a sign out front and is tucked slightly above street level so use Google to find it if you can't spot it!

Yelp
I've rave about this place way too much that my friend bought me their pastry the other day! The chocolate croissant was heavenly - crispy and flaky pastry with quality chocolate filling. And, my goodness, if you pay close attention, the ginger cookie has tiny pieces of real ginger in it. They clearly do not skimp on the ingredients. Lumine coffee, this is why you have the best pastry in town! I forgot to mention in my last review that this place operates till 6pm on weekdays, which is rare for local cafes, but would be perfect for my need since I tend to work later into the day and then head straight off for my evening plans.

Yelp
Tight knit and super friendly. Great coffee. Never take an espresso seriously unless it's served with water as I say. If everyone has ever been to A-OK--this is literally a copy paste!

Yelp
Their tea based lattes are to die for! Love the jasmine one. Service super friendly.

Yelp
Convenient 4th Avenue location between burrard and arbutus. Modern, chic decor that is the perfectly accessorized with premium roasted coffee and pastries. A fair assortment of muffins, scones and Savory treats. Croissants look amazing! There are a few tables on an elevated balcony over looking 4th, plus extra seating behind main bar. Coffee has a unique flavour of custom blending with a hint of something extra. Food was flavourful and sized well for the price. Overall review 4.5 The interior and exterior was SPOTLESS! Give it a try!

Yelp
This is a little gem that would be easy to miss among all the trendy coffee shops in Kits. What sets Lumine apart are really creative specialty croissants (think works of art like passionfruit coconut or apple pie and sponge toffee) and the friendliest-ever counter staff. The coffee is good too. We found out about Lumine because they participated in a city-wide croissant festival and they had a croissant that sounded appealing, and we've kept coming back for because of the friendly vibe. Lumine has a neighbourly feeling in a city that can feel a bit impersonal.

Yelp
New coffee shop in town! Decided to check out Lumine Coffee out at West 4th Ave. They were a little difficult to find because there is no sign at the front of their location. But eventually did find it. Staff was nice. When I went there, however, it seemed like the were still being trained. All good. Just something I noticed the day I went. Location is nice around West 4th. But as always around this area. Free Parking is always an issue. It's hard to find the two hour time slots because everyone seems to already have taken them. There's definitely street parking. And paid parking around the area isn't too hard to find. You can take transit. But it's probably not as convenient as just driving there. The ambiance was nice. There's one sma table at the front where they make coffee and stuff. I found that the smaller tabled were too small. They had two chairs but I found it difficult to imagine putting two laptops on the table. The surface of the tables just seemed a little smaller. Now the larger tables were fine. Plenty of space. Though I found that one person could sit on a larger table comfortably. But if you had 2-3 people on the table already. Best to find another place to sit down. Speaking of finding another table to sit down at. There isn't a ton of room. Lumine is a nice and petite place. But there isn't a lot of tables and not a lot of places to sit and do your work. Unless you're okay with rubbing shoulders with others close to you. If you are, all good! Cost - it's about the same as many other coffee shops around the city. If you got a baked good and a regular drip coffee. It'll cost you about $8-$10. If you get something a little fancier. It'll cost a little more of course. It's a small coffee shop. Worth checking out. There's free WiFi! So that's awesome. And the staff, at least when I went, was friendly. Great service and decent cost always gets people coming back. Keep it up Lumine! And welcome to the neighbourhood.

Yelp
Cute little cafe in Kitsilano. I got a small latte and quite enjoyed the flavours in my cup. I also liked the interior and vibe that the cafe provided. When you first walk in, it may seem quite small but they have a larger seating area in the back as well.

L S.

Yelp
This coffee shop has excellent - flaky and delicate- croissants. Could be the best I have had in Vancouver. However the espresso is only the trendy medium or light roast, which I strongly dislike. And the cafe is very small and crowded. Next time I would get take away croissants and buy my coffee elsewhere.
google avatar

Terisa D.

Yelp
The best cafe for croissants and coffee in Kitsilano! Each croissant is perfectly flakey, airy, crispy, soft and fun of flavor! They serve coffee from a variety of great micro roasters and offer some heartwarming caffeine free drinks as well! Everything they use is quality and you can definitely tell through each sip or bite of food. There's also a great area in the back for work and study!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Best croissants on earth! Oh I have had many croissants before (being from Europe (Germany) where pastry is basically our day-to-day business). Lumine coffee has the most delicious croissants they are light, they are crispy and they are unique! I love the filling options: can't go wrong with classic chocolate but also their unique coconut passionfruit filling is perfect during summer. The chocolate cookies are great as well (a bit on the sweeter side though). The matcha is great and they serve it in a nice big glass! The place has a minimalistic interior - modern and clean. A Patio is very welcoming as well. Service: top, wifi: top, music: top; can't complain. Oh they do have great coffee with different vegan milk options (soy, almond, oat and coconut)

Spencer L.

Yelp
Rude barista. Kinda cute place i guess. The coffees good but I will likely not come back due to rudeness from staff namely one weird guy.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Been wanting to try Lumine for a while and decided to drop by on my morning bike ride from Burnaby. Absolutely loved their coffee selections, unfortunately, the service was horrible. Hoping it could be better if I decide to go on another morning ride for their coffee!
google avatar

Mandy K.

Yelp
Love the design of this café. The matcha latte was above average I usually love unsweetened one and the staff could make this for me.

Yelp
Dropped by Lumine Coffee little while back during a soft opening. Took a little while to find and was a little annoyed that the address on the website was wrong, so ended up driving 3 km out from where they actually are. If it hasn't been corrected and you're reading this, the address is 103-1965 W 4th Ave! The cafe itself has a clean contemporary look and feel, with a small selection of croissants and cookies. We had a pane au chocolate, almond croissant, and oatmeal cookie which were excellent. The latte and and flat white were very good as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming, while still learning the ropes of the soft opening. It would have been nice to have a couple of stools outside, as the few seats inside were full. If its not raining the city has a large pedestrian area across the street.

Bob R.

Yelp
Great cafe to do computer work, comfortable seating, delicious drinks, friendly staff. The bathroom door is kind of hard to maneuver but you'll get the hang of it.
google avatar

Fei W.

Yelp
Their banana bread was delicious! Pillowy, chocolatey, soft banana goodness. I can't speak the same for their Americanos though. It was quite sour for my taste, but then again I had it Uber delivered, so it was already warm/cooled when I drank it. I would def try this place again by visiting the cafe.

Tricia W.

Yelp
Great espresso! Stop here if you're in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, small & nice space, and they care about the end product. So good! We had takeaway coffee here multiple times on our trip and were happy we did each time.

Frank Y.

Yelp
The Chai latte was great, and the cookies were even more fantastic! Freshly made and tasty!

Yelp
Really excited for this new addition to the neighbourhood. Food is delicious, I especially like the breakfast sandwiches. They have some baked goods like cookies, croissants, muffins and other pastries, and they're pretty good. Espresso-based beverages can be hit or miss, I'm guessing they're still getting used to the swing of things because they're fairly new, and maybe because they have a lot of staff so depends who's working the bar maybe. Their non-default espresso seems to rotate fairly frequently so it's a nice way to try different coffees from different providers. You can ask what they have and choose from the 2 options. They use Square so getting receipts is all digital and they have a loyalty program where you're rewarded for frequent visits. Service is also pretty great, when they mess up they fix it and issue a refund even when you're no longer in the store. Very convenient and a much appreciated modern approach to running a coffee shop. This place is good value. It's my new favourite spot to go to because of the flavour, value, and customer service. There's a few shops that are closer to me but I make the trek out to Lumine because it's worth it. If I could offer one suggestion it would be for them to mention flavour notes and the process the beans go through either on the printed pourover menu or verbally (e.g. washed, natural, etc.). I often forget to ask and I'm not a huge fan of natural so it would be great if it was more obvious. My pre-caffeine brain doesn't always remember to ask.

Stacy T.

Yelp
Delicious! Great teas and coffees and excellent baked goods. Cozy, clean, welcoming and friendly environment, courteous and efficient staff.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and fun flavor croissants like banana chocolate hazelnut. I got the coffee flight which was so tasty and cheap (4 for the flight!). The staff was really nice too!
