Lummi Island

Visiting Lummi Island was a truly special experience — made even more meaningful because one of my best friends owns a place there. This quiet, scenic island feels like a world away from the noise of daily life. Surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, it offers breathtaking coastal views, peaceful forests, and a calm, unhurried pace that instantly puts you at ease. Whether walking along the rocky shores, enjoying the ferry ride over, or simply sitting outside and taking in the sunsets, every moment on the island felt genuine and grounding. The sense of community is warm and welcoming, and the landscape has a timeless charm that’s hard to find elsewhere. Lummi Island is one of those places that captures your heart quietly — it’s not about flashy attractions but about connection, nature, and simplicity. Visiting because of my friend gave it an even deeper personal meaning, and it’s a place I’ll always remember fondly.

I’ve had the pleasure of spending a lot of time on this island recently. It’s incredibly beautiful. Gorgeous vegetation, free roaming deer, the beach on the west side is secluded and stunning. The ferry ride is fun and the staff is friendly. The whole vibe everywhere is peaceful and welcoming

Beautiful spot for a quiet getaway. Walking trails, pebble beaches, a small store and a weekend cafe.

I always loved Lummi. It's not crowded. Tranquil, A good place to make holidays. Walk, enjoy, read a couple of good books.

Very relaxing island trip. Not much to do on the island other check out the local artists. There are 2 restaurants, both of which were closed while we were there.

Lummi island and its 900 human inhabitants is remote and beautiful. We saw otters, seals, and bald eagles in early June. I would love to return here. There is a restaurant near the ferry and it was very good! Definitely recommend eating there for the delicious food, kind and personable staff, beautiful views and it's important to contribute to the local economy when traveling (i.e. spend money). There isn't a whole lot to do, which was great for me because I had to slow down and just take it in. Most of the island is private beaches so just consider that when booking a room (we were lucky to find a place with beach access).
