We were warmly greeted by our server, shown to a premier table for two by the window at the end of a long banquette, and quickly enveloped into the energy and synergy of this small, intimate, and cozy restaurant in Le Plateau. Luna defines both the Apportez Votre Vin ethos of this historic neighborhood and the elevated global offerings in both cuisine and hospitality that make Montreal a true foodie heaven.
We both enjoyed the half-moon (demi-lune) fixed menu, starting with a long board of bites to whet our appetites, leading to steamed and fried dumplings and the most tasty barbecue fried chicken I might have ever had - I could have ordered an entire bowl of it.
We both ordered Bibimbap and asked for the volcanic bowl (not listed as an option on the demo-moon). Three options for sauces are available (I had chicken with soy, my companion beef with spicy) and both were full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and those very satisfying crispy rice bits along the bottom of the bowl.
Mine sizzled for a good many minutes, allowing me some time to refill my wine and take in the beautiful people and vibrant energy all around me. On a cold, winter night, there's not much more one can ask for in this magical city.
Fantastique!
