The 12 Best Restaurants In MiMo

"Luna Pasta is a little restaurant in MiMo that serves rich pastas, empanadas, and focaccia sandwiches. Pasta is the main attraction here. There are a dozen varieties on the menu, and we’ve enjoyed all the ones we’ve had, like ricotta ravioli and crab agnolotti. This place is very tiny and can get a little cramped when it’s busy, so it might not be the best option for big groups or a first date. But they do takeout as well, in case it’s looking like a pasta-on-the-couch kind of night." - ryan pfeffer

The 9 Best Italian Restaurants In Miami

"Luna Pasta used to operate from a tiny little room in MiMo, but it’s since moved into a bigger spot a mere 300 feet north (the old space functions as a takeout market for fresh pasta, empanadas, and dessert). But everything we love about Luna exists in the new location. There’s definitely an Argentinian influence to the menu (they also have thick alfajores and rotating Argentinian desserts) but pasta is the main event. They use a lot of cream sauces, but somehow the pasta remains delicate and not overwhelmingly rich—as is the case with The Golden Plate, a bowl of ricotta and truffle tortelloni in a demi-glace cream sauce. The new dining room is more spacious, but still very cute and date night-appropriate. " - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

The Best Lasagna In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"The lasagna at Luna Pasta is confusing. At first glance, it looks like a tall, impressive lasagna. But what gives this lasagna its height are fluffy layers of a solidified substance that has the consistency of a soft cheese. They call it “bechamel” on the menu, but it does not look like any bechamel we’ve ever encountered. There are also generous ratios of beef bolognese and a shallow puddle of basil pomodoro sauce. It’s a version that might send a lasagna purist into an existential tailspin, but it’s also really good, and still delivers all the creamy, beefy, cheesy flavors we look for in a lasagna. If you’re after a traditional version, look elsewhere. But if you’re down to expand your lasagna horizons, give it a try." - Ryan Pfeffer, Virginia Otazo

The Best Things We Ate This Week

"Bucatini Carbonara Luna Pasta is a little restaurant in MiMo that serves pasta, empanadas, and focaccia sandwiches. During a visit recently, I decided to try the bucatini carbonara. It was pretty darn good - really creamy with a healthy amount of guanciale chunks dispersed throughout. They have about a dozen pasta varieties here, and I plan on working my way through all of them eventually." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

This is a fantastic restaurant! The food was delicious and Tobias was a very attentive waiter who saw to all of our wishes. I had the pasta with Shrimp and loved it. Highly recommend for any foodie in Miami to check out this place!

Visited Luna with my friends who live in the neighborhood. The place feels very local—in a good way. No tourists, nice staff, great interior, and soft music. We tried several dishes, and all of them were good and tasty. Great place if you live nearby. I’ll definitely come back. Food 9/10 Check my insta for more: @eevahn1

Google
This place was highly recommended to us and it was 10/10. Walked in with no reservation on a Saturday evening and they had no problem accommodating us right away. Service is great, food is authentic and delicious, and the ambiance is a very nice relaxed & romantic vibe. Will definitely be back for more!

Came here with my bestie and i had a wonderful time! The pasta was perfectly al dente, i got the fettuccine bolognese and i highly recommend. But the best part was the octopus, it has amazing flavor and was so deliciously cooked. Our server Tobias actually helped us decide we were between two of the appetizers and told him to surprise us and he brought us the octopus and it couldn’t have been a better choice. We ended our meal with a yummy pavlova!!

Google
Absolutely phenomenal food, coupled with a cozy atmosphere and some ambient lighting for night time. I saw the pictures and felt it would be too casual, but it is perfect. I will be coming back for more pasta and desserts, 11/10!! (Favorite dish, gnocci stroganoff special of the night! The ravioli with pear were okay because it didnt have real pear, and I personally like to have real pear and walnuts in it)

Hidden gem. Delicious Italian cuisine artfully prepared at a reasonable price. Service is excellent. Highly recommend.

Google
Incredible Italian food in an unassuming location! Be sure to make a reservation, or have a date night for two and sit at the small bar like we did. The grilled octopus was a particular standout with the perfect texture served over a beautiful sauce, and the pastas were exquisite. The dessert portions are plenty large enough to split between two people (or take home for a midnight snack!). The waitstaff was friendly and accessible, and we were well served even though we were dining at the bar. Keep an eye out for a specialty cocktail (we loved the Aperol spritz), but otherwise you’ll find a long wine list. I would recommended this to anybody, and we hope to return soon!

Google
Excellent. Rarely leave reviews but this one is worth it. Service, vibe, wine, and food were spot on. Spicy rigatoni with shrimp was the star. Will be back soon 🤍 - harsh critic

Yelp
I LOVE a low profile cozy restaurant with great food and service. And I can say Luna Pasta e Dolci checks all these boxes! We went on a friday night - no reservation and sat at the bar for a drink while we waited for the table. I had wine and my husband had an ICE COLD beer - very rare to find in Miami. Service was incredible - we felt really welcomed by the staff! Food was also impeccable. We had jamon croquetas, the lasagna and the salmon ravioli. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I was especially surprised by the salmon ravioli as it was really fresh, tasty and it was a great size portion - not small at all. Love the casual atmosphere and the overall experience. We will definitely be back soon!!

Yelp
Whoa. What an amazing little gem. A friend told me they love the empanadas at this Italian restaurant. I felt that a little sus. However upon trying their lamb empanadas to go, I could see what they were talking about! Perfectly fresh baked, flakey and doughy shell with a scrumptious filling. I also got the crab ravioli to go. They were able to swap the sauce for me to a pure tomato sauce, since I couldn't do cream. You can also order frozen ravioli by the pound and they have a lot of flavors! The Ravoli was fresh. It's a place I do see myself buying the raviolis to go the next time I'm there. I walked into their take out side to pick up my order. Service was very friendly. It was well light and bright. Casual ambiance for the pick up spot.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this pasta spot for years . A friend planned her birthday here and I was excited ! It is in Biscayne. It is a cozy pasta spot. The menu had varied dishes . I knew that I had to try the Spicy Rigatoni. The service was excellent. The owner came and checked in on us numerous times . The vibe was classy. The prices were decent. There is an added service charge for a group. Parking was free. I am definitely coming back here ! Best pasta I've had in Miami !

Yelp
Another local spot in MiMo district and spectacular! They make all their pastas in house. They have a takeout spot just a block down. Plenty of parking in the back with a 3 hr validation with the QR code that you get inside. Ordered the arugula salad to start and the bread with a delicious special butter spread. The server recommended The Golden plate, and I added shrimp to it. Sooo flavorful, if you love truffle and mushroom this is the plate. And I love a place with a dim light beautiful interior as well.

Yelp
The spicy seafood pasta was delicious. Parking is tight but limited. I recommend making a reservation as it gets really busy. It's the right size shop, and super cozy inside and the staff is welcoming and nice

Yelp
The burrata appetizer was amazing! Service was excellent, very attentive and helpful. The pasta was delicious, but my favorite was the burrata. I can't wait to go back and try more items in their menu!

Yelp
We love this family-owned place. We have been going since 2019 and it remained consistently good. The pasta is delicious. My favorite is Mafalde pasta and I definitely recommend it. The interior is cozy and the staff is friendly. If you crave pasta you should definitely put it on your list

Yelp
We really enjoyed our evening. I had mushroom risotto with filet mignon. It was tasty . My husband had bolognese and he loved it . For starter we had buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto with pesto . The bread is awesome , great coffee . Nice music , great service. The staff work as a team and it's so efficient. Check it out !

Yelp
Ok Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen. This is one of the deal ones. Headed to to the symphony last night. On the way there my buddy and I had decided to go there again The decor has a simple and clean appearance. Once again the food was extraordinary. Had a special salad buratta with tomatoes and roasted red peppers with jumbo shrimp, fresh basil leaves; served with a little olive oil with unique spices, perfectly mixed as not to discern any of them. I could have had 2 of those for dinner Dinner great, I tried their lasagna, different than what I've have more northern Italian. My buddy had the shrimp fra diavolo with pasta cooked in squid ink. Very special. Didn't have time for dessert. Make a reservation got there early when we left it was packed. I gem on US 1.

Yelp
Golden Plate (truffle tortellini) was incredible, everything delicious and authentic. Even their bread is insanely good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the restaurant feels cute, welcoming, and not crowded or touristy at all. A little gem :)

Yelp
We came here for a date night on a Sunday evening for my birthday. The restaurant has a small bar at the front with a cappuccino bar and decent size wine selection. There's about 16 tables in the restaurant and an open air kitchen in the back. There was great dinner music playing the entire evening. The food selection was excellent and there was an additional selection of specials. Both my wife and I enjoyed our meals. I did the beef. Bolognese and my wife did the fillet Risotto. Both of us would highly recommend those dishes. We started with the Burrata and Prosciutto antipasta , which was also excellent and ended the dinner with two cappuccinos and the almond apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely everything we ate was excellent. This is the perfect restaurant for an evening out. It's at a great cost point when you wanna have a date night and not break the bank! There's a large enough selection that we can come again and again without eating the same thing twice. Service was excellent as well.

Yelp
Stellar service. Great pasta dishes. The complimentary eggplant based dip with the bread is delicious. Wish they would expand their alcoholic beverage offerings to include liquor (an espresso martini would hit the spot with some of these pastas). I had their red sangria which was way too sweet and tasted like I was drinking straight sugar juice with a splash of red wine, wouldn't order it ever again. They validate parking in their lot but there is not much parking available in general. Also easy to confuse the restaurant location with the takeaway location that is just one block south - their signage is not very clear for the restaurant, but for reference it is directly across from El Bagel. The Golden Plate is 100% worth ordering but would recommend to share with your table due to how rich it is from the truffle. Take all your leftovers home with you, some of the pastas tasted better reheated than they did fresh.
