Luna Wine Bar - Review - Bermondsey - London - The Infatuation

"For picky plates of British food and a glass of wine, we like Luna, a sleek, uncomplicated Bermondsey spot. It sits on the same street as bigger sister restaurant, Legare, and feels like the less-sure-of-itself, younger sibling. Upstairs never quite livens up when we’ve been, so grab a seat downstairs where some of the clatter and chat of the kitchen drifts into the dining room, and those at the end of work days sip glasses of Bodega Bodega Blanco and throw back slivers of buttery iberico. The thrumming playlist, chic unfinished plaster walls, and flickering candles make Luna an ideal pick for dates that want to play it safe for a first meet-up. photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Dishes are a familiar, seasonal mix of things like zesty butter beans and perfectly fine lamb cutlets. There are some misses, like the burnt Welsh rarebit and overly salted chocolate éclair. But stick to a few glasses of wine, some charcuterie, and the excellent chips with Old Bay seasoning, and Luna will see you right.
