"Lundenwic, Covent Garden. Everything about this newly opened cafe is appealing to those who are visually stimulated. The clean, calm and light interior, considered branding, and bright, fresh food and juices on display are all very Instagrammable. Sandwiches and salads change according to seasons, whilst the Little Bread Peddler pastries and Workshop coffees are always on the menu."

Cute though somewhat cold decor. Hot chocolate was good though very nearly not sweet enough to have without sugar. Service was fine. Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 3/5

Quite expensive, in my opinion - at least the toast was. Two slices of toast with tomatoes for over 8 pounds.. Edit)) The carrot cake was nice, as was the coffee. Still a bit pricey, but the staff were kind and cheerful.

Small, modern and light coffee shop, a good stop for breakfast mid-commute. Very good coffee (they even have a sign saying this, and it's true!) and a good selection for breakfast. Recommended: the coconut milk porridge with bananas honey & pistachios.

Finally visited this place for some coffee. Happy with my flat white and they also do some tasty brown eggs on sourdough with chilli flakes. They have downstairs seating which is actually quite cosy and spacious. Good food and efficient service, will visit again.

Nice, cozy place, with outdoor seating. Serving blend for espresso, barista is friendly, but not aware of the coffee he is serving. If you are not a coffee freak like myself, then definitely worth a visit

Fresh, tasty coffee goodness. Definitely a hidden gem. It says it all in their sign. It’s true!!

Stopped by here on the way to the Tate. The breakfast choices were limited. But very delicious!

I cannot say I've visited all the cafes in London, but I have visited many, and this one has stood out among the rest. I can confidently say it is my favourite thus far. When it comes to a good cup of coffee, it isn't hard to find in London, there are plenty great roasters and lots of great baristas that can pull great espressos. But Lundenwic balances, great coffee, great food, and amazing atmosphere. They serve Square Mile and Assembly beans, a perfect combo of the local veteran and the new kid on the block that is making waves. Along with their great coffee is an amazing food offering, I personally had a wonderful coconut cauliflower soup that warmed my soul on this cold day. The downstairs seating is intimate and cozy, paired with a playlist that had me nodding along and in the perfect mood for a cappuccino with the best swan art I've been served in a long time. This is my new go-to cafe in London, and I highly encourage you to make it your next stop for a great cup of coffee and food with friends.

Yelp
Woke up this morning with breakfast on my mind, and this place hit just the spot! It's a very cozy hole in the wall and the food is very, very good-- and in my student budget

Yelp
Really enjoyed the chill vibes, playlist, and my oat mocha. You could easily pass it by, but keep your eye out.

Yelp
Good coffee, sourdough and eggs with green onions/oil (excellent), quaint downstairs, cool classic rock music and good service.

Yelp
Nice little place to grab a coffee an a light breakfast! I stopped in twice during a quick visit to the area, and had a good experience both times. The flat white is always my preferred option, but the Americano was good as well (if a touch acidic). The Banana Bread was nice and moist, although if I had it to do over again, I'd try it with the creme fraiche, blueberries, and candied pecans rather than plain. The Coconut Milk Porridge was a nice and hearty (and healthier) way to start the day. I was a little confused by the menu, thinking that it came with compote, granola, banana, date syrup, and pistachio. Those are really two different choices; compote and granola, OR banana, date syrup, and pistachio. I didn't regret the compote and granola, but the banana, date syrup, and pistachio also sounded pretty interesting. They also had a small selection of pastries, which all looked good. Highly recommended for a light breakfast/lunch/snack!

Yelp
Great little spot serving Artisan coffee and some nibbles. I enjoyed the chocolate croissant.

Yelp
Great authentic European cafe. Their iced lattes are amazing and their food is great too. Their avocado toast was simple yet fresh and flavorful. Their eggs on toast and banana bread with yogurt were also great. Come here for a quick breakfast or snack and you won't be disappointed. There's seating downstairs too!

Yelp
Had an amazing flat white here. The coffee is a nice dark roast with lots of flavor and the foam and milk had a great texture and consistency. Way better than the Kaffeine cappuccino I had later in the day (which seems to have more hype).

Yelp
Lovely coffee, there seemed to be a slight wait for it and it's a bit cramped if you get one to go. The food seemed expensive, but I didn't try it so can't really comment. Not overly friendly service but not particularly rude either. They didn't remember the request I made for my coffee.

Yelp
Just a small review. But I think it deserves five big stars for the lovely people and AMAZING coffee. We all had a flat white, made with care and with single source beans tasting if creamy bitter chocolate and raisins to me. If you in the strand it seeing an epic 7 hour play refuel yourself here. Call the police. It's too good!! I don't taste the food but it too looked well made with a mix of sweet and savoury. And apparently a toasted cheese sarnie to die for. Next time. :)

Yelp
Got the avocado toast. They definitely don't skimp on the avocado. Also got the banana bread to go. It was warm so I took a nibble and next thing I knew I finished that too!

Yelp
An enjoyable coffee shop, chic minimalist decor, friendly service, and high quality food and drink! I stopped in for a takeaway snack on Saturday, just as they were closing (4 pm). Greeted by a friendly barista who made a really delicious, if pricey (£2.5) latte! Grabbed one of their pastries - the caramel donut filled with banana. It was both wholesome (I believe wholewheat flour?) and just the right sweet kick I needed for the afternoon. They don't ask yet have loyalty cards but it sounds like they do student discounts? Will report back after my second visit ...

Yelp
Not your average clichèd white tiles and wood stools place. The service is 5/5; really friendly, talkative & let you just sit around for a bit. Order one of the interesting porridges eg. almond butter, lemon curd, cacao nibs and olive oil. Whilst I didn't order one, note that their coffees are indeed quite small - this is quite deliberate, apparently. If you want a gallon of coffee, you probably want somewhere else anyway. More seats downstairs where it's nice and cosy.

Yelp
Five stars! This place is just fantastic, so fresh, modern. Their avocado toast with smoked salmon is the Best! And coffee. And freshly baked minis (the lemon one especially). Will be back for more as soon as I can!

Yelp
The food here is quite nice and really fresh ingredients are used, however this place could benefit from having a larger selection of food available. The menu is quite small but all of the food available is lovely.

Yelp
Best. Mocha. Ever. Yes, it's £3 and comes in a rather small cup. But the cup has a beautiful blue and white print design, and inside is an intensely chocolatey coffee. It was so creamy that it had microfoam on top, with just a tinge of dark bitterness. Perfect, would re-up without a second thought. Didn't get a chance to try the food yet, but the very friendly barista sold me on what he called, "The best mince pie I've ever had." It was pretty damn good. Nice addition to an otherwise bland string of chain cafes on the Strand. Looking forward to stopping in for a toastie soon!

Yelp
Sitting calmly amongst all the hustle and bustle of Aldwych is this small coffee shop that is actually more than just a coffee shop. So, guys and gals, locals and tourists: the next time you're thinking of going to one of the soulless chains around Holborn and Covent Garden (no need to name any...), please just venture a few more steps into Lundenwic. I work around Aldwych, and when I'm not able to make or bring in coffee or lunch, I'm usually stuck for options that are a few minutes' walk from the office. Finally, this little shop opens and brings a [very!] welcome alternative to all the chains that litter Kingsway and the Strand. They pretty much do everything, and they do it well: coffee, tea, breakfast, pressed juice, cold brew tea/coffee, lunch, and cake. I usually have their Long Black, which is quite strong. It's a much needed kick in the morning when you really need caffeine, and, to me, a lot better than the other black coffee options around the area. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to try their other coffee options as I'm not drinking much milk at the moment! But I did notice that they do have soy milk if you're wanting a dairy free option. I'm hoping that they will eventually have drip coffee, but this isn't a bad start. Their lunches are beautiful - seriously! They have a wonderful selection of salads that vary daily. I've only ordered the salad once, but what I've had is fresh, delicious, and very healthy to boot. Their toasties are really delicious as well. DEFINITELY try the onions, kale, and cheddar one! I've yet to try their porridges and their cakes/pastries, but I can't wait for the day(s) that I will check that off my list, and I'll be sure to update the review when I do. =) Oh yes, and another bonus? Really friendly staff! So if you're a bit at a loss or overwhelmed over what to have, just ask! They've been very helpful and friendly. (And tip: apparently there's a discount for you if you work locally.) The drawback? It's pricey, and that can come as quite a shock for takeaway food/drink. But the more I look around the area and consider the ingredients that go into my drinks and my foods, the more willing I am to accept that it is worth it to pay just a bit more for fresh, healthy, thoughtfully made food.

Yelp
I just moved to London from New York City and was looking for a good place to work on an online class of mine. I had the caramelized onion, kale, and cheese toastie with an Americano. Loved my food, good prices (I spent about 8 pounds in total and the sandwich was large), well lit but intimate, chill music and wifi. Loved this place, will definitely be back. Nice staff too!

Yelp
If you're staying in Covent Garden and don't want hotel breakfast, skip the chains and go here. It's a small place, but the staff are super friendly, the atmosphere will calm you down before you start a busy day, and the food (esp. plum and ginger porridge) will fill you up like a big cozy warm British hug. Loved it!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee spots- highly recommend grabbing a coffee here. I love the almond milk flat whites - not too Milky or foamy and have enough caffeine to get you going. The food here is good as well- love the avocado toast. Seating is limited, but they do have WiFi and tables downstairs.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! The coffee is delicious and if you go for a soy latte, you will get the delicious Bonsoy milk - amazing. Lundenwic also has a great selection of salads for lunch - it is not the cheapest option but I definitely like supporting these guys better than big chains that are around this area. Definitely my "go to" spot for breakfast or lunch. The staff is super friendly and decor is minimalist and chic.

Yelp
The cutest coffee shop with very friendly staff. I ordered the banana bread. It came with almond butter yogurt and berries topped with pistachios. It was heaven. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Great review for a great place. First, it's very modern with white tiles and some wood stools clustered along a white countertop running along the wall. It also has a high ceiling so feels quite airy, although overall it's a tiny place. The manager is a nice guy, amiable to my multiple orders. Next to the till are the displays of sammies, multiple desserts, etc. I love the veggie option Ludenwic has: roasted broccoli, almond, chili and cheddar. When melted, I couldn't distinguish the almond but the rest of the combo is delicious! Just enough chili sauce so it has a slight kick but not overwhelming. It's on sourdough bread. For five quid, a little pricey but the rent on this place must be ridiculous. The juices were all out but I also got a slice of toasted banana bread with a heaping amount of cashew butter for takeaway (sprinkled with chia seeds) for 3.5 pounds. It was just as buttery the next morning for breakfast! Finally, I got the slice of the vegan chocolate cake with avocado icing... and that's the downer =( It looks amazing on the counter... but it's just awful. It gives vegan desserts a bad name. The cake is nicely spongy but has just a hint of chocolate flavour. The icing is the worst. Seriously. It's 4.50 a slice. The rest of the desserts look tempting and are thankfully not vegan. A toilet is being built. I would def return if in the area.

Yelp
Ten times better than the nearby branches of Pret, Eat, etc. Food here is delicious. You can get mini versions of very English cakes like Bakewell tarts, very well executed. Perusing back issues of the hilariously pretentious- but also well executed- Caffeine magazine will entertain you while you wait. A bit pricey but can't wait to return.

Yelp
A nice little hideout with great artisan coffee and food. The egg on toast was slightly too salty for my taste but everything else was good.

Chris N.

Yelp
Had breakfast here during our stay in London - it was so good we went back the next day. Simple menu but everything we ordered was delicious & reasonably priced. Coffee also a hit, and that's coming from a coffee snob from Australia.

Jackson A.

Yelp
Had the avocado on sour dough toast with lime and Cafe Americano. Toast had a nice kick to it with a hint of red pepper. Coffee was fresh. Nice little spot, a bit pricey.

Peter M.

Yelp
Coffee was great. Food was great. Can I get one of these places at home. It's amazing how while in London you can get any food you want done amazingly and the thing you find to be your best meal is a fresh ground americano with some avocado toast. Yeah I'll be back. They do it right and you can't beat freshness like this.
