great hot food selection. great lunch spot. kinda pricey for all my weekly groceries but they have those hard to find specialty items.

Tap Room at Lunds & Byerly's, Highland Bridge is a neat place to grab a self-serve pint of beer or glass of wine and light snack, while sitting on the rooftop patio watching the sunset. My only suggestion is to take a copy of your charge receipt, as I had an extra charge on my bill and did not notice until a week later while reviewing my credit card statement, I was charged over $20 dollars for a 3/4 glass of their Red Cab wine.

Bakery not good and the police presence is freaky, but I still give this place 4 stars for now. I started shopping almost exclusively at this location of Lunds and Byerly’s 6 months ago and have had almost nothing but a good experience. Yes, it is pricey and has the two issues I mentioned above, but I guess you get what you pay for: fully stocked shelves (this was actually why I switched to L&B; I was fed up with Target and Cub never having the items that I wanted. They carry them but were constantly out of stock), gorgeous produce, super clean, helpful staff, good product selection, etc. I have no idea why a heavily-armed police offer has to be there. I mean no disrespect to the officers, but I don’t like coming around a corner and seeing someone holding a massive weapon when I am just buying carrots or doing the week’s shopping. It makes me feel like I live in a war zone, and I see zero reason for L&B to think they need to provide this service. I’d rather they not hire these folks, save the money, and lower the prices a bit. Maybe L&B gets robbed all the time, or thinks they would without a police officer present, but it is just bizarre to me. As for the bakery, the cakes and pies never really looked good, so I hadn’t tried them until last night, when I bought French Silk and Lemon Cheese pies. Fed them to 12 people and nobody was impressed. Marie Callender sells a frozen Silk Pie for $10 bucks that is much better and the Lemon Cheese pie lacked flavor in every layer. Not worth buying at all, and the cakes look and sound like something that my daughter and I could whip up and could save $40 on. I guess I will continue to search the local bakeries or hit up Whole Foods for yummy and interesting cakes.

It's a lovely grocery store. Prices can be a bit high, but they have real cashiers you can go to to check out and carry out help. It is a boon for the older population. They have large and small carts, and a parking ramp which is especially appreciated in the winter or at night or inclement weather. If you don't feel like cooking they also have a pretty extensive hot deli area where you can find traditional American, Mexican, Middle Eastern, and Asian foods. The bakery is also good and the cakes are beautiful. They have a butchers and an extensive meat and poultry area. I think it's the only place around where you can buy frozen pasties. They have very stable staff so sometimes it's like walking into Cheers where everybody, if they don't know your name, at they at least know your face. Oh and there's a Caribou and seating to drink your coffee inside as well as an upstairs seating area that's pretty cool.

Google
Not the cheapest in the area but their quality is very good. I heard they had a bar upstairs so I came in to check it out. It’s self serve so you can enjoy and pour your own brews as you see fit. You can sit inside or outside but there’s no shade outside so it’s better for the evening or night. There are some bar snacks that are somewhat reasonable too so you can eat and drink to your heart’s delight. Not a bad place to go at all!

I like their hot deli foods section. What I do not like? The police presence and this feeling that I am constantly being watched because I am a black male. It’s not a safe location for someone that looks like me. But it is a nice grocery store with reasonable prices. I will be going there less often because I do not feel safe in there .

This is a very new location of Lunds & Byerlys. I have been shopping at Lunds for a very long time. Just love the fresh produce and all the various options they have. The quality of food here is awesome. This new location has a lot more options. The Ambiance is very beautiful and love the mew floor layout. The food and salad bars are mind blowing, lots of options and very fresh food. They have the best organic foods here. This location has a covered parking and a beautiful online order pickup zone. They also have a taproom on the 2nd Floor, the taproom has a beautiful outdoor seating with a huge variety of beer taps. A must try and highly recommended place.

Exquisite customer service! The staff are warm, hard to find at the time I decided to shop (9:30p) particularly the cashier and customer attendant. There were floor associates that I heard check-in with other customers but I didn’t have that experience. The two i mentioned earlier made the difference for sure. This location is very bright, most locations are fairly dim. This brand always amazes me by the sections they create, like the frozen bread section. This location has two entrances and what seems like the main entrance closes at 9p. I’d return just for for the amazing cashier and customer attendant that helped me to my car.

Yelp
Ok. FINALLY made it into the new location. I love it! The windows on sides, the coffee shop, the usual L& B selection. It was great! I've got Roseville and while still nice..... Anyway, the best part? NO MORE SLOGGING THROUGH THAT BUSY LOT. And when it was slushy in winter? Ugh. I always felt bad for the folks bring out groceries. That underground parking is awesome. I really like how the whole area is turning out : )

Yelp
Building: NEW! Just a block or two away from the old Highland location, the move allows for more natural sunlight with the big windows, bigger space, interior Caribou Coffee + upstairs bar called "The Mezz." Interior: clean, spacious, longer walk to find items but lay out is very similar to all other L&B's. Nice restrooms that are easy to find, elevators, Wells Fargo ATM near entryway & Bachman's flowers. Pricing / Sales: upscale (always has been). They do a great job of advertising big sale items and do the classic cart full of sale / discounted items (currently lots of holiday items at the entry) Products / Quality: 10/10. Upscale that has it all! I really appreciated the Probiotic Beverage section that exceeded my expectations carrying an abundance of options. Fruit is always fresh, meat cuts to a T, delectable desserts - chef's kiss! The hot bar section has really expanded to include multiple cuisine take home (or sit down) options such as a taco bar, Mediterranean, Asian and more. Service: Excellent! Cashiers are friendly and groceries are bagged by staff with the option for staff to bring the items to vehicles. Parking: underground and lots of spots connected to the store. Cons: when busy, it gets tight. Rating: 4 stars because of tighter parking (added anxiety to not get hit) and hard to find condiments by hot food (I was told the sweet and sour sauce was by the express check out vs. the main section where all other condiments were which was super confusing). I recommend making a day out of this grocery store and getting coffee, treat yourself to some floral arrangements, maybe enjoy a meal on-site and then pick up groceries. Not to mention, plenty of other Highland fun shops to stop that are in close proximity. Enjoy!

Yelp
Love the Bakery at Lunds, and this location is so convenient for quick pick up. Love getting cheesecakes and tarts here in the summer when it's too hot in the kitchen. Staff is super friendly, and courteous. Especially compared to the hell that is CUB

StPaul G.

Yelp
Beautiful store and friendly staff. We love their bakery-fresh cranberry walnut bread and Prairie Farms dairy--we always find great deals.

Yelp
I'm in my sixties I live right by the store every time I go in there because I'm a person of color I get followed around the employees especially the ones of color are rude disrespectful you say hello they ignore you food overpriced

Donald E.

Yelp
Went to the grand opening of the new store! BEAUTIFUL! has a lot to offer Bigger store than old one.. Has a taproom called the MEZZ Also has a deli seating area upstairs and ground level and outside seating. EXCELLENT Bakery with Warm chocolate chunk cookies yum! Great meat and seafood dept! Has a caribou coffee! Great place to get lunch and dinner! You should go see this store!

Alice S.

Yelp
The new Lund's is everything! Once you get past the parking nightmare, the store is just stocked. It has expanded its inventory so that there's not much you won't find. It's comfortable to shop in, and there's decent help on the shopping floor.

Dawn C.

Yelp
The way Dawn moved to the other side when a customer got in front of me so that she could keep her eyes on me "a person of color" is so typical and annoying I'm so sick of this kind of behavior from white people. I work really hard and have been working since I was 16 and I'm not a thief. Treat people how you want to be treated Dawn! "at the check out!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Newest update: Every single time I've come here over the past 1-2 months to buy some items that were "on sale", there have been "issues" during check-out in one of the regular check-out lines (not the small convenience check-out counter which presents its own unique set of problems during check-out). One example: the one box of Wheat Thins crackers became three (3) boxes on my receipt. Fortunately I happened to review the receipt before leaving the check-out area after thinking the total amount seemed awfully high. Then I had to stop at another station where a manager was doing something, wait for him to finish, and ask for a refund. Another example: during their 25% off sale on their store brand pre-packaged deli salads, one bin I wanted to purchase did not activate the sale price correctly and the cashier who assisted me checked on it and made a correction; however, the corrected amount was not correct either (as I determined once I got home). I ended up paying $0.50 more than I should have. Advice: Beware or errant charges and incorrect prices!

Joshua G.

Yelp
Lunds is closer to highway robbery than it is an upscale grocery store. I was looking for brownies and cookies and left without purchasing them because they wanted $40 dollars for one box of brownies and 1 box of cookies. This is absolutely asinine.

Marie J.

Yelp
I do 75% of my shopping at Lund/Byerlys. 25% a local butchers. I'm a very loyal customer to this chain. After they moved to the "Bridge" 15 minute city, it didn't make the store much better than when it was in it's old location. It's just differently annoying. This and the Cedar Ave Lunds/Byerlys are the closest stores to me. The staff is great, but they've always been great. That's what makes Lunds/Byerly's a pleasure to do business with. The parking is worse than it was in it's old location. The isles are weirdly narrow except for the pop/beverage isle. That's a wider, isle with pallets in the middle-making two narrow isles. Pallets in the middle of the isle at Lunds? It makes this store look very junky. In fact the entire store has a warehouse feel to it. I am not waiting until I'm in the burbs to go shopping at Lunds and Byerly's. The new store is too Cub-like for me.

Yelp
Went to the Highland store to pick up a few items. Took a small cart and thought I had roughly 15 items when I went to the self-checkout line. The attendant rudely told me that I had way more than 15 items and would have to go to one of the checkout lines, all of which had at least 3 people ahead of me with large carts full of groceries. I counted my items and I did have 17 items, so I was over but not what I would consider "way over." Left my cart and went to Whole Foods where I had the same number items and was welcomed to checkout in the self-check line. in a day when there are lots of options for food service, CUSTOMER SERVICE COUNTS!

Karlene M.

Yelp
I giving this 2 stars not because the service or product is bad but because their deli staff doesn't wear hair coverings. Gross! It's a health code violation. Doubly gross. I was there days apart because forgot something. I noticed the lack of hats or hairnets the first time. I called and spoke to the supervisor and he said yeah I noticed it and had them put hats on. Two days later, same thing. No hair coverings again. I called again and spoke to the same person and said none of your staff has their hair covered. I Aldi made it clear I will never purchase from that deli ever again and will tell everyone I see the same thing. Unless people like getting hair in their food the by all means, shop that deli counter. I feel like they've let slide many of he uniform policies that made them Lund's with a professional look to match the professional service. My advice, shop that deli counter with caution. You may end up with something in your purchase you may not want, HAIR!

Yelp
When I was a little girl living in NW Wisconsin...when my grandparents showed up with a Lunds bag we all knew there would be special treats inside. As an adolescent, I recall the day my parents returned from a trip to Byerlys raving about the selection & the carpeted floors!!! Now, I'm the older matriarch, heading off to shop for Thanksgiving & I'm still as impressed, now, as the shopper. Excellent selection regardless of the department. Friendly staff ready to help & some of the best sushi I've found in any grocery store.

Steve V.

Yelp
If bland had a taste, it would be the breakfast burrito here. It would help if they had salsa packets but they don't carry them. When I asked they said well sir we do have jars of salsa. As I'm holding my to-go burrito. Cuz that's what I need a giant jar of salsa for my incredibly bland burrito. Actually, now that I'm typing this maybe that's what she was trying to tell me... Come on Lunds, everything you have here is overpriced anyways. You can at least pony up on some salsa packets.

Yelp
Byerlys changed their cake recipes-- just like they changed the frying oil for the fried chicken 3 years ago. I have been a serious avid loyal fan of their chocolate and lemon coconut cakes for the 17 years we have been in Minnesota. Originally the icing for the lemon cake tasted and had the consistency of a light whipped cream-- beautiful buttery simple, and the white cake was equally light creamy and heavenly. The chocolate frosting had a wonderful home made like Betty Crocker with butter consistency and dreamy flavor. ( i am a SERIOUS chocolate lover.) The ingredient label was also in larger print and half the length of today's cake label! I grew up with fresh home made jonathan apple, butter crust, pies hot out of the oven for breakfast, and thus have a deep passion for pastry. I really loved those cakes! But now the ingredient label is in smaller print and twice as long... soy and palm oil, emulsifiers, thickening agents for the 'whipping process... and thus the cake texture and flavor are gone. It is so full of thickening agents, that you almost feel like you are consuming cups of crisco. They have tried too hard and the natural fresh simple flavors and textures are gone. The end product feels and tastes synthetic and unusually sweet. Please bring back your ' old' recipes from 5-7 years ago!

Elder S.

Yelp
While most of the Lunds and Byerlys store are pretty good, I must say the new one in Highland is the worst. The parking lot is ridiculous, who designs these things some 10th grader? Getting in and out is a real challenge, and one I will not continue to do. Not sure why they moved because the only advantage I can see is there's more natural light in this new location. The Difficulty in parking is enough to keep me away.

Y S.

Yelp
This new location is a disappointment! Bring back the old spacious parking lot. The new ramp is too small and tight, and nobody seems to know how to drive in there. Close call accidents every time we have been there. The isles are now narrow, making it hard to pass a shopper coming in the opposite direction. Most of the staff is ok, except for the evening deli people. The lady with the brown braided ponytail always acts put out to help you. Unfortunately the prices are too high as well unless there is a sale. $7.99 for 3 croissants? Wow, that's crazy! They are cheaper in France! I guess if you park on the street and want your groceries taken out, and want to spend a fortune, this is the place for you.

Frank W.

Yelp
I get a kick of the whining complainers, which only say I enjoyed, the Cashiers are Professionals. I appreciate having my groceries to my car, On occasion a lazy slob leaves their cart in the Garage, making it more work for Employees wasting Employment time for the waiting on the selfish. You have to know when to enter Lunds. At 6 am or 9 pm beating the Rush. Leaving near by helps. I'm not wasting time going across town, to Costcos, Cub or Super Target in a rundown section of town & Wasting mid time commuting: When going to Lunds only takes me :45 Expensive ok, fine, what's your time worth? If it cost $.54 per mile and traveling 20 miles, RT is the cost savings worth it? $10.80 vs $1.08?

Denise D.

Yelp
[For this location only] Perhaps it's not fair of me to hit this location a couple days after visiting the France Ave location (which is beautiful). This location is tired and laid out in a strange way, especially compared to other Lunds & Byerlys locations. Seriously, I dare you to find the rice cakes. (I had to ask for help after wandering around. Hint: They are actually in the aisle that claims to have them). This store needs a serious makeover, and might I suggest, along with reorganizing the aisles, improving the gifts? There were some flowers when I was there, and of course nice candy choices (always love Abdullah and the store brand of chocolates), but no postcards and hardly any Minnesota-themed gifts (I believe I saw a puzzle). I couldn't even find any Pearson salted nut rolls! Don't make me go to Kowalski's! I will!

Stephen S.

Yelp
I am sorry I didn't recommend them. But I know the new one has a great tap bar connected to the store on Ford Parkway

Jeannie V.

Yelp
I really like Lunds. I can't afford to do my everyday shopping here, but I come every month or two to do my "fancy food shopping" or I know it's the only place I can get something - their selection is truly impressive. From pasta shapes I can't find anywhere else, the best feta I've ever tasted, ladyfingers for tiramisu, amazing deli and produce sections, mouthwatering rotisserie chicken, surprisingly good sushi, and my favorite Home Run Inn frozen pizza. It's clean and organized and well-staffed with courteous employees. (Example: on Christmas Eve, a bagger accidentally forgot a bag of my groceries at the register, and I didn't realize it until I was unloading at home. I called to ask if it was still there and they had a manager deliver it to my door) Now, the cons: 1. Price - I don't mind paying more for better stuff, and even a little more for better service/atmosphere, but almost everything is significantly more expensive here than Cub or Super Target, often for the exact same items. But they do have some crazy good weekly deals too. 2. Parking - the lot always seems super full 3. No Big Bowl Express at this location, and I love me some yellow curry chicken!

Debelah T.

Yelp
This isn't exactly the grocery store I can shop at every time I go grocery shopping. Sadly my budget doesn't fit the ability to do that. I acknowledge that it's my own issue, not Lunds's. When I can, I try my est to treat myself to their goodies, especially ones I can't get at a typical grocery store such as Cub Foods or Rainbow. Their food is a little fancier than the typical ones so I understand why they'd be a little pricier. Not all of it is that way, but if I look closely at everything, I'll know more what to buy and what to wait until Cub Foods or Rainbow. The employees at this Lunds are friendly and willing to help out when they can. Granted, they don't have to do much with customers, unless they're working at the cashier line. Even so, they're willing to help. The food I buy there is tasty and good quality. As long as I know which ones to buy and not to buy, I'm fine. That requires a lot of comparing prices of Lunds vs. other places. Now that I know what to buy and not to buy, I'll be back.

Amy R.

Yelp
Too lazy to drive all the way over to a packed Super Target, so we stopped here for a few things. There is a reason I do not do my regular shopping here. A few things = $ 40.00, but once in awhile oh well... Really good black olives from the olive bar. Sopressata- incorrectly priced or at least according to the sign right in front of it. Rang up twice what the sign said it was, but I didn't notice until later. Nice layout of this location. Good for picking up a few things.

Joe I.

Yelp
Still four stars, but I am upping the price range and I am now a totally different customer. I used to do my shopping here, but have switched to Target after seeing a real difference in prices. Its just a little bit here and there, but it adds up to be a difference that makes a difference to me. The produce at Lunds is far superior to Target, and the service is 100x better as well, but as long as price matters, I have to switch to Target. I am still here weekly with my mom, who I bring here to do her shopping. She loves this place, and shopping with her I can totally see why. The staff know her by name and say hello. She chats with lots of folks, and they take the time to talk with her. So I am now a totally different customer than I used to be, and despite the prices, Lunds treats my mom like a queen, and anyplace that does that gets props from me.

Emily D.

Yelp
I like this store. Even when it's busy I can always find a parking space. The cashiers have been here for years and are familiar faces. The meat department and deli staff are fast and polite. The house made food is so good. I appreciate that this store chooses to employ people with disabilities.

Ellen T.

Yelp
This review is for the bakery. Had a last-minute (20 hours notice) custom small birthday cake order. None of the local bakeries could accommodate. They got it done with an hour to spare. So accommodating. Tastes great too.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Paper or plastic? Everything on your list? or everything and more? Lunds in Highland Park is amazing. I had about 10 things on my list and then oh looky here what's this? Corn husks? Star fruit? Ok I didn't get those, but everywhere I turned there was something odd and interesting food-wise. Every shelf is full and lined up like Sleeping with the Enemy cupboards. They have your Smuckers jam, but they stock organic brands, european brands; just all the brands! This is true for every section of this store. I'm usually a gal who doesn't like too many choices, but here I was like a senior citizen on coupon Wednesday/ free bus day. Taking my t-i-m-e and enjoying myself. The prices were not bad either, especially compared to Kowalskis. ($$$) Oh and those 10 things on my list? Er...I ended up with 6 full bags that were carted to my car. (No shopping carts allowed in the parking lot). A side note: near the front of the store there were about 15 senior citizens having coffee and sitting at tables chatting away. See? I'm a shoe in!

Richard S.

Yelp
Craig The check out man always does a GREAT job it was late last night and he gave me world class service at your Grocery store Lunds is lucky to have CRAIG Thanks

Gary B.

Yelp
I need help carrying heavy bags to the car. Bags full of liquids; milk and stuff. I don't like to bag my own groceries. I always bring a cloth bag or 2 as the baggers tend to double bag almost everything. I don't get this service anywhere else

Jenna H.

Yelp
The store is clean and the selection is great, but the service is unbearably slow. On multiple occasions I have wondered to myself while waiting over 10 minutes with frozen food in my hands, "Are these employees moving slow on purpose?!" It sure looks like it. It's happened too many times to be a coincidence. Do not come here thinking you will grab a couple of things "real quick." Be ready to wait.

Bonnie O.

Yelp
Several things keep me coming back to the Lunds & Byerlys in Highland Park, St. Paul. Their produce section just keeps getting better and better. Not only do they have many items grown in Minnesota, but products such as Revol greens are grown above ground so that they don't get tainted by run-off and are organically grown. Their seasonal fruit is delicious year round. They reliably have ripe avocadoes. I like that I can buy cut-up melons, pineapple, as well as soup vegetables so I waste less and have more of a variety than if I had to buy whole melons. I also like that I can buy one lemon or six, one orange or a bag of oranges, etc. Their artisan breads are delicious, and I always keep a loaf of their six seed bread in the freezer to use a slice or two at a time. Their staff are always friendly and helpful.

Guya I.

Yelp
I give in only two stars, and this is why: Treating myself to a few nice "only lunds carries" things, paying the over-jacked up prices that we pay at a grocer like this, I got scolded for asking for a double paper bag. Which, I do ask for on occasion for newspaper/other recycling that we absolutely have to have our recycling in. Some old dude, said " are you worried about the handles breaking" ? I said, no I pack newspapers into paper bags, and sometimes bottles so I live the two bags, thanks"- Is it really any of his business why I am asking for two bags? Since I dutifully bring my own bags to the regular grocery store ( the co-op), I sometimes need to restock up on a few paper sacks for recycling, and do not need to be scolded by some dude named BOB. After spending a stupid amount of money there, they can afford to help me with my recycling.

Rhonda G.

Yelp
This is in my in-laws neighborhood and I do a lot of the shopping for them here, so I'll list what I like, by section. 1. Bakery/bread: vienna, cobblestone(can make a good bread pudding base if you want to cut corners), corn toasties(you gotta try these), and great cakes and cupcakes. 2.deli: the house made tuna and chicken salad(simple and delicious). a decent buffet, that many seem to swear by. An abundance of salads and meats. Also in this section are some featured crackers, a new brand MARY'S GONE CRACKERS, I love the caraway( watch how you bite down on these, very crunchy, and I chipped a piece of my bottom tooth biting on a piece of rice). A good hummus, MEZA brand. Outstanding cheese selection. 3.Produce: CALIFORNIA SUN DRY brand sundried tomatoes in oil, a garlic paste also, 4.dairy: LIFEWAY farmers cheese( Russian's use a lot of this, and is required for cheese pascha for Easter). Good organic selection. 5. baking: carries WATKINS brand(double vanilla is a good one, pepper) Other brands like SPICE ISLANDS are good too. MARSHMELLOW FLUFF(try this in hot chocolate)! 6.toiletries: A good variety of BURT'S BEES. 7.soda: My 3 favorite rootbeers, DAD'S, DR.BROWN, KILLEBREW(a local brand made with honey). Once they had a sale on classic sodas in the original bottles i.e. DAD'S, BUBBLE UP, CRUSH, etc. and people went ape shit. 8.meat: MICKELBOB'S RIBS, from my friend's at BREWBERRY'S. Alway's staff around to help you out. MORNING STAR veggie burgers(they don't stink up the house). Some good sales, especially around the holiday's, you have to go often enough to catch the other ones. But it is what it is, and it's better than the dumps out east.

Yelp
Lunds and Byerlies are the upper crust grocery stores in the metro area. Here you'll find some of the best quality foods at a bit of a premium. Highland is a well established neighborhood that will seem a bit like Pleasentville. Grannies and housewives will come out on Sundays to nibble at the grocery store samples and talk to each other and you can get some clean cut member of the pepsquad to carry your groceries out to your car.

Adam W.

Yelp
Don't shop here to save money. Shop here because here is where you will find the particular thing you need, e.g. a broad selection of specialty and hard to find grocery items, quality local/imported cheeses, excellent meats cut by a real butcher, a long and well stocked salad/hot food bar. Employees are always friendly and helpful, will help transport your purchases to your car. I've been going here for years, and when you need that special something, Lunds is the place to find it. Pro tip: check their website for frequent sale/BOGO offers. Lund's prices tend toward the high end, but when they put something on sale, it really goes on sale.

Yelp
It's expensive but much better than Cub. And occasionally they have great BOGO specials. They will carry your groceries to your car for you at no charge, which is a nice plus especially in the winter. I love shopping here, but have to admit that the prices tend to be a little high

Yelp
Lund's is way more expensive than it needs to be; however, I think the prices help with the ambiance. Aside from my wallet being raped, I've never had a bad experience at a Lund's. The store is always clean, the items are stocked neatly and easy to find, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The fact that they hire senior citizens brings a tear to my eye. The old folk are so sweet and hard working at this place. I absolutely adore the exotic fruit cups they have. Mango, Kiwi and Strawberry (not so exotic) all the way!

Yelp
Lunds is my favorite place to shop. Clean, well lit, always stocked. A bakery and a deli, with a nice selection of fresh prepared foods. A great selection of groceries, including some nice high-end items - olive bar, meats, cheeses, and other specialty items for those special occasions. Awesome, fresh produce. Well-staffed, and unless you're here late evening or something, always plenty of checkers, including express aisles, and quick check-out. PLENTY of parking in their lot. And speaking of late evening, they're open until midnight, which is a godsend for those of us who travel a lot, or work crazy hours. Quality and class all the way here. I do not get people who take stars away because a business that is clearly catering to higher-end customers is more expensive. I mean, seriously? Are you going to walk into a Ferrarri dealership or an Armani boutique and then complain about the high prices? You can either afford it or you can't. Don't go hating on a business because of your decisions and lot in life.

Yelp
The parking lot here can be a bear....I love that the check out bag boy will take your groceries to your car for you. They have above average bakery and you can get some really cute little fancy treats for special times in your life. They also have a very large selection of most everything but I have noticed they have interesting fruit and produce that you don't see all the time at other places. I think that the prices are a little on the higher side compared to other grocery stores you can find in the area but it is a nice store and you can find most everything you need if you are trying to get everything in one location for a party or dinner.

Yelp
I like this grocery store for the most part. They have a wonderful bakery section with a variety of selection. The prices are a little higher than your Cub or Rainbow so I go here if I just need a few items rather than fighting University traffic. Staff here are fairly friendly which is nice. One thing that I don't particularly care for is the layout of the store. There are a couple aisles (cookie and crackers aisles) that run east to west rather than north to south. which cause congestion for people trying to come out of the north and south aisles. It just doesn't feel like it flows very well for me. One note, which I did not impact the stores rating, is the parking lot is a nightmare at times. People are in such a hurry to find a spot since the store is part of a strip mall that they don't always pay attention to where they are going. So expect people to crazy and distracted in this parking lot. In a pinch, this store works, but it is not my go to store.

Yelp
I've shopped at your location for at least the last fifteen years. I've always enjoyed your fresh produce and your friendly staff. We were in a rush one night and grabbed a take and bake pizza of yours, an Italian meat pizza, thin crust. We are familiar with the local pizza scene, Fat Lorenzo, Latuff's, pizza Luce, and Parkway Pizza. We were both astounded at how good your take and bake pizza really was, wow, this was really a good pizza! Keep up the great work Lunds, you are really doing a great job!

Yelp
The good, bad and ugly: -The good: the hot food and salad bar have some good items but watch the weight on what you get or it can be very expensive. -The bad: the checkout people at the front are in a continual state of confusion about how to do their job. How to work the cash register, how to open a paper or plastic bag for bagging items, how their credit card machines work: all a mystery to them. Imagine Encino Man, defrosted from the Ice Age and then hit on the head with a mallet, was assigned to help you pay for your items at the front and you now have your expectations set for the process. Any rolling of eyes on the part of the customer, at the issues they cause, are not met with shame or contrition but rather with surly sarcasm and a 1000 yard stare expression. -The ugly: many of the customers are just as confused about the details of the checkout process as the store employees. The part where they have to pay comes as a complete surprise to them: they start digging for payment only when prompted a few times. ( Maybe they were the 100th shopper of the day, or whatever, one time back in the 1950's, at a Red Owl or Write-On food store perhaps, and got all their items for free thus no need to pay... that is my best guess.) They will start paying with a credit card then switch to cash and start digging all the nickels out of the bottom of their purse or where-ever.

Yelp
The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because it's small. Well, small as far as grocery stores go. Thereby the selection is limited and they don't seem to have any (or many) generic or store brand items. That being said, their bakery area is awesome. The donut selection alone blows me away. The variety of other baked goods is great too. Also, the deli and ready to eat foods area is impressive. If you ever just want to grab something for dinner and heat it up, this is a great place to get something tasty.

Yelp
very nice, new, clean store and some good deals. For the most part the weekend, evening cashiers and baggers need better training. they are not friendly and act as though they are doing you a huge favor by checking your groceries, We shop here once or twice a week and would love to see improvement.

Yelp
I consistently find prices here to be equal to Cub and Target, oddly enough. Maybe what I buy isn't that expensive to begin with - but coming here makes me feel special and appreciated as a customer; there is no lack of customer service here and there is always somebody available to help when I can't find something. Store is always clean, the employees smiling, and I love it!

Yelp
Seems almost pointless to review Lund's. If you haven't heard about them then you must not have lived here for very long... But as a new resident of Highland Park I'll write one anyway. Good selection. Fantastic meat and produce. Expensive - yes. But can't find the peanut butter? - A friendly Lund's employee will escort you to the right place and hand it to you. Try getting THAT at Wal-mart. For me, their biggest asset is the deli. I don't cook much in summer so we eat a lot of sandwiches. I've never had better customer service. They're all great but if you're lucky you'll get Mary. The best! Imagine a personal chef and your mom rolled up into one... Not sure which ham looks best? They'll cut off a slice and let you sample. Picky about how your meat is sliced? They bring the first slice over and ask if they should adjust it. Goes without saying they have some excellent meats and cheese.

Yelp
This Lunds is not my favorite grocery store in the area but it certainly will get the job done if you need. The one thing in its favor is that I find the employees to really truly go out of their way to be helpful. On my most recent visit, the woman at the deli did not blink an eye when we asked her to slice us some meat literally seconds before she was set to close the counter. Even though that meant she would have to re-clean the slicers and redo some work, she handled our requests, sliced our meat exactly the way we asked for it and handed our order over with a smile. Also, another woman volunteered to fetch me a hand basket when I simply asked her to point me in the direction of the nearest stack. Selection-wise, it's pretty average here, though I will say they seem to get the freshest strawberries at this store somehow. We don't shop here on a regular basis, and when we do, it's usually for very specific items. But, we do find that it's a nice addition to the neighborhood and a nice option when we're on that side of town or in a pinch for a certain thing. Also, props for being one of the dwindling number of Twin Cities retailers to sell Home Run Inn frozen pizzas. That, if nothing else, will keep us coming back.
