Lupessa

For our New Year's date we decided to try and new restaurant that kept popping up on our feeds. Lupressa at The Gateway. It was fabulous. We had the brunette as our appetizer. Perfect amount for a starter. I got the Seabass and my husband got the scallops. Both were so so good. The Seabass married the lemon sauce with grape tomatoes and it melted in my mouth. We added the smashed potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms as sides. The asparagus wasn't my favorite, but aside from that everything was great. We loved it! Atmosphere was exceptional as well.

Lupessa is an absolute gem—truly one of a kind in Salt Lake City. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the stunning interior design and inviting atmosphere. The service was equally impressive: warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. Our server, Petro, was an outstanding host. He took the time to walk us through the concept of the restaurant and the menu with such care and enthusiasm that it really elevated our experience. The food itself was nothing short of fantastic—beautifully presented and full of flavor. We felt welcomed and relaxed throughout our meal, with no pressure to rush. It was a memorable evening from start to finish, and we can't wait to return.

I felt like I was in a fairy tavern with the moss walls, pink trees and lights, but also in a very upscaled jazz club with the cool toned bar and a live piano player. The food was delicious and there are more items I'd like to try!

Lupessa was phenomenal! We had a reservation and only waited a couple of minutes. The servers were super friendly. The food was absolutely mouth watering. I had the chillean seabass and I could not have been happier!

The menu is a traditional italian menu with multiple courses. The focaccia bread was amazing. We had a salad, meatballs, gnocchi, scallops and broccolini. Every bite was great. And such a pretty atmosphere. We’ll be back and bring friends next time.

I'm not sure how anyone could give less than five stars! my partner and I were looking for somewhere to have an upscale meal while visiting from the East Coast and I found this place on a whim. we were staying in park city so I knew we'd have to drive into the city and was hoping it'd be worth it. what an incredible experience we had! everything from the gorgeous atmosphere, to the attention to detail at the bar, to the above and beyond service and absolutely TERRIFIC menu...we truly ended up ordering about half the items on the menu. everything was perfect. i have been raving back home to friends and family over how I got to have the most deliciously seasoned scallops, most tender filet, and best carbonara in my entire life. we can't wait to come back again someday, we will make it a point every time we visit the area as we are beginning to make Utah trips a yearly occurrence. thank you again for the amazing experience!

Atmosphere is unbeatable, as is the food and wine choices. We tried the carpacio, which was superb. My entree was also superb (and made for wonderful leftovers). Will DEFINITELY go back!

We had an incredible night at Lupessa. We brought in a 1982 Château Margaux, and the person running the room made the entire wine experience feel thoughtful, elevated, and effortless. The care and knowledge truly stood out and made sharing such a special bottle even more memorable for us. The food was exceptional, our server was warm and perfectly attentive, and everything was timed beautifully. It was one of those evenings we’ll talk about for a long time. We’re already recommending Lupessa to friends and can’t wait to return.

This restaurant is hidden gem in the gateway. Lupessq is elegant! With live piano music, amazing ambience, and tables to accommodate part of any size, you will be able to celebrate any occasion. The food is outstanding! Luckily, I read reviews of different foods before I came here, and I asked our server what she would recommend. I had the prawn pandelle (or something like that), and it was out of this world! It was bursting with flavor and came with a side of lemon. The drinks were delicious and the other sides we got were spectacular. Our waters remained full, and while this is a pricey restaurant, it's well worth it for the flavor and ambience! They validate your parking from Hall Pass, so it should be an easy parking situation. I think Hall Pqss may have screwed up the validation though (nothing to do with Lupessa--they were perfect).

I visited this place as Italian Graffiti before the rebranding to Lupessa. It is located in The Gateway which is a multi-use, shopping, dining, retail, and business space. It was a good experience as Italian Graffiti. I dined close to closing and was able to sit at the bar. The bartender was very helpful and offered recommendations. The Bucatini alla Carbonara and Tuscan Scallops were delicious. I also tried the Nana's Nog cocktail which was delicious, but not something I'd order again. It really is a one-and-done kind of cocktail. Overall a very good experience. I'll try Lupessa when in the area again.

Beautiful establishment. The host and waitress were very professional! Each dish was very delicious. We did not care for the dessert, it just did not have that wow factor.

The ambiance was amazing inside! On top of that, probably some of the best service I've ever received. Staff was very friendly and very on top of things! The cherry on top was that the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back again!

Lovely atmosphere and ambiance. We decided to dine at the bar. The bartender was not only working the bar but also five table in the dining area. The service was inattentive, delayed and; while not rude, no smile, no hello, no how is everything, no are you enjoying yourself. And finally the food just okay. The gnocchi was spongy and the sauce gooey. The scallops were very good but the spinach overdressed with lemon. It's been a while since we've been to a restaurant with all the potential but missing the "spirit" of the experience.

While visiting Salt Lake City stopped into this establishment. The restaurant is very nice. The service was friendly and informative. It's conveniently located a block or two from the Delta Center and appears to be a hotspot for pregame dinner. For dinner I had the Chicken Parmesan which was delicious. The food was very good as well as the presentation. After all the first level is the eye appeal before taste. The restaurant is moderately priced. I also had the pistachio tiramisu which was very very good. Overall I enjoyed this place and would definitely come back again.

Came here on vacation excited for our anniversary and birthday dinner and could not have been more disappointed. We were looking forward to what I thought was real Italian food. But this place is like a macaroni grill that tried to upscale - only the food somehow got worse. The first red flag was when our bartender asked if we wanted a "splash of vermouth" in our dirty martinis. The olives tasted fake. The bread they served was flavorless, underbaked, and sponge-like. The crispy fried onions with the burrata should have stayed on the green bean casserole. The gnocchi slop will haunt my Italian wife for years to come. And the chicken piccata was the only thing we could eat, but still lacked any flavor other than lemon we squeezed onto it.

Visited the Gateway again to view a Greek tragedy play by a local acting company. Right below the small theater was this beautiful restaurant. We love this place. Great food and beautiful atmosphere. Host a Shea was very smiling and accommodating. Server Pietro was very attentive and helpful. And Carlos kept our water glasses full again with a big smile and friendly talk. I had the chicken piccata and my beautiful friend had carbonara. The bread was delicious with great olive oil and the appetizer we shared was the tuna tartare. Very delicious. It's our favorite downtown restaurant. Thank you for another nice experience.

Sat at the bar - service was friendly and fast. Ordered the Buratta, Caesar Salad, Meatballs, Spicy Rig, and Gnocchi. The Caesar was delicious and burratta top notch, meatballs were good but not particularly special. The Spicy Rig was good but not spicy at all and minimal sausage. Gnochhi were soft and it was very rich. Would recommend sharing plates- our group of 3 split everything and it was way more food than we needed! Only complaint was the bar lighting - inexplicably they use black lights over the bar, which is both migraine-inducing and makes your food look terrible! We shined a flashlight on the dishes to ease our minds as the colors were so far off from what would be normal food hues. The rest of the restaurant has nice, soft lighting, so really not sure why they would put blacklights on the bar. Would not sit at those seats again.

We came here with my husband's cousins and sister for dinner this past summer, while they were visiting from Virginia. Wow, this place was so fancy! I love the trees throughout the place! They also had plants on the walls, a backlit crystal wall, leather bound check holders, and tree root benches in the entry way! The booth we sat in was a little tight for all of us, but we got by. It was getting busier after we sat down, but we were still able to hear each other. The staff was helpful in helping us decide on meals. We all enjoyed everything we ordered. More on the pricey side, but we enjoyed all the food and each other's company. Loved the experience.

The entryway is beautiful and it doesn't stop there! From beautiful wood, metal and velvet the decor is top notch classy! The ambiance is gorgeous. The booth seating is very comfortable and made with beautiful maroon velvet. There are big decorative trees in the middle of the dining area that make it feel cozy. The service was also top notch. Our server was fun, helpful and attentive. We started with the focaccia bread which was soft, buttery and salted just enough to make you want to eat the whole plate. I had the filet. It came out warm, which made me think it sat in the back for a while and it was not seared which I prefer. But it was very tender and had a good flavor. The braised cipollini onion was full of flavor and very well done, so good. My friend had the Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was coated in a light breading and very tender. The noodles tasted homemade. The sauce was thin and needed more seasoning. The Spicy Rig wasn't spicy and the sausages, however good, were diced up very small and you had to search the dish to find any. The mashed potatoes came with a hint of rosemary but could definitely use more seasoning. The drinks were not made correctly and completely watered down. They filled the glass with small little ice cubes and that is no way to enjoy a classic old fashioned. There is a business casual dress code but they don't enforce it as there were a couple scrubs in their couch clothes dining in.

We went here for me and boyfriend's 2 year anniversary. Such a romantic spot! the ambience is top tier and the live piano was a cute touch. it felt fancy but the prices weren't terribly expensive. the food was deliciousss. we shared the meatballs for an appy. the sauce was reallyyyy good. meatballs and bread superb as well. i got the gnocchi and me and my bf loved how squishy the texture was. his chicken parm was really good as well but maybe just a little too cheesy for my taste. the service was also amazing. they were really attentive but not too much in your business. our waiter also helped us decide what to order when we were debating between a couple options which was super helpful.

Hit this place up on the reopening-- didn't disappoint. The prawn pappardelle and the filet were both excellent, but the dish that will call me back is the sea bass: delicate, delightful, and a real treat. See you soon, Lupessa.

As others have mentioned the gnocchi and burrata are both fantastic. Gnocchi was very pillowy and softy and had thick chunks of bacon. The burrata was creamy and fresh, paired with a tasty olive sauce. Wouldn't recommend the steak frites - fries needed more salt and a dipping sauce. Steak was cold and I didn't love the flavor. Definitely do not recommend the lemon raspberry cake. Cake was VERY dense and not moist whatsoever.

Came here for Valentine's day and everything was amazing! The staff was very attentive as soon as we walked in. I ordered the duck bolognese and it was so tender. The saltiness of the duck was accompanied by an amazing tomato sauce all combined with beautifully cooked pasta.

Let's start with the good stuff: oysters, carpaccio, and cocktail drinks. Ambiance and views are nice! Service was slow because it seemed a bit short staffed, but our waiter did the best he could. Bad news: Most of us did not like our entrees, which consisted of the steak, scallops, and pork chop. The seafood pasta was decent. The steak was chewy. The scallops were bland & I did not like the bed of lettuce that was under the scallops in a non-flavorful sauce. It really did not enhance the flavor of dish at all. Honestly we heard mixed reviews of this restaurant. People either love or hate it. I love the apps and drinks only. The leftovers we had, we gave away to some people outside asking how the restaurant was.

Last minute decision to try out this place, and glad we did. The service was great. Ambiance was really cool, and the food was great. The lasagna was awesome, and I don't say that lightly as I'm always disappointed with lasagna anywhere I go. The carbonara was so good too, as was the Polpette appetizer and Focaccia. If you've not tried Italian Graffiti yet, give it a try. If you like lasagna you will be pleased with this as well as the serving size. Thanks for the pleasant surprise, Italian Graffiti!

The food here is tasty and the ambiance is exquisite. The theme is sort of an Italian spring fantasy? Very different. However, the portions are quite small, so be prepared to order bread, appetizers, entrees, and possibly dessert if you don't want to leave hungry. And yes, bread is a separate dish that you pay for. I got the scallops, which were tasty (but very expensive--about $10 per scallop for three). I could have done without the olives in the dish though; they didn't seem to fit. I also tried my husband's chicken parm dish and found it very tasty. We also ordered the garlic and sourdough breads, which we very much enjoyed. Finally, the service was okay but definitely could have been better. We waited a long time for water refills and had to flag a waiter down. My MIL called ahead and asked about birthday desserts, and they assured her they would give the birthday boy a free sundae. But when we got there, they were out of ice cream. Since she'd specifically called ahead to make sure there was a birthday special, it seems they ought to have offered something else--half off a regular dessert, maybe. Lastly, the server wouldn't give us a dessert menu. I understand they only had two desserts at the time, but we could barely understand what the server was saying when she recited the items. Even after she repeated herself twice, I am still not sure what we ate (some kind of salted caramel pudding with toffee and ganache? It was amazing, at least). It would have been easier if we just could have read a menu. There are a few items I still want to try, so I expect to come back eventually. I hope these small service issues will be resolved when I do.

Went out with a group of friends before a wiseguys show. We had made a reservation which I would definitely recommend with how busy it does get on a Saturday night. The restaurant is decorated super cute and the bathrooms are gorgeous. The iridescent tile! We started with the Caico de Pepe beignets and while they were indeed good, they were not my favorite for as much as they are mentioned in the Yelp reviews. I would skip next time. I really enjoyed the prosciutto fries, great garlic flavor. Also the bread was tasty. I tried the meatballs over bucatini with the whipped ricotta and vodka sauce. It was filling and just enough. Others in my group got the scallops (small plate, I think there were 3 scallops) gnocchi and really I thought the best dish I tried was the sweet corn scarpinnoc ( my goodness that was delicious) We also brought wine and they charge a $25 corkage fee (a little high but their drinks are pricey so in the end saves some money) Expect to pay a decent amount but the food was quality, the service was good and the place has a fun vibe.

I spent way more here than I should have but I have learned some things. First the bread and Stracciatella is so yummy. My first order I did ricotta and honey, and while tasty, it wasn't worth the extra cost. The Stracciatella with the bread was so delicious and worth the charge. I got the chicken Parmesan and it was ok. I would have preferred to get full on the bread and cheese instead. Portion was fine. I didn't order the noodles with it as I was carbing up on the bread. Chicken 5/7 there wasn't anything wrong with it. Just nothing amazing either Bread with ricotta and honey 6/10 once again it was fine just not amazing. Bread itself was really good Bread with Stracciatella 10/10 amazing portion delicious. Had to move it away so I wouldn't make myself sick eating it. Dessert cannoli, flan custard thing and something with strawberries. Did not partake Ambiance absolutely beautiful. Was worried about dust with all the extras but very clean. I ate by myself and never felt excluded or not taken care of Servers were great. No notes.

This is a beautiful restaurant with great service. First we were not sure what to expect and were surprised with how nice this place is and the variety of menu options (limited gluten free options). But what really surprised us most was the great service. I hope this place remains successful.

Ambiance is decent, but don't let it fool you into spending way too much for bad quality food. I ordered the Frutti di Mare (seafood pasta) and the pappardelle came out in a single, thick, impenetrable lump topped with various overcooked, half hot/half cold seafood chunks that tasted far from fresh. The $12 brocollini was also sparse, soggy, and too salty. This restaurant makes me jaded about so-called upscale restaurants that charge premium prices for what tastes like poorly microwaved food.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was solid. But overall, the food and cocktails were very disappointing for the price. The martini was watered down, the lasagna didn't have much flavor other than salt, the mushroom risotto was also too salty, and the carbonara was bland and overcooked. They make the carbonara with pappardelle pasta, which is an odd choice and doesn't work, especially when the noodles are mushy and stuck together. The Little Gem salad and duck bolognese were the best dishes on the table, but they weren't good enough to convince me that that the food at Lupessa is any better than mediocre for a high-end price tag.

While it may not be the best Italian food I've had, everything I've tried here has been packed with flavor and includes a reasonable serving size. The ambiance is interesting and reminds me of a restaurant I would beg my mom to take me to when I was a kid, with touches of Mario and Peach artwork and fake foliage throughout the space. One of my best friends worked here and I always sat at the bar when visiting, which offered quick service and warm hospitality!

If I could give a 3.5 instead of a 4 I would - because there was just one thing that slightly overtook our experience - the smell. For some reason something just smelt off, it almost smelt like old seafood - not in a good way. And it was super present in the entrance, but still lingered even after. We ordered the bread starter - and though the bread was fab, I didn't love the accoutrements. I would've rather ordered the garlic bread. We loved the cacio e pepe beignets and the meat balls! We ordered the seafood fra diavlo, scarpinocc (what a fun surprise), gnocchi and the carbonara. The carbonara - though we knew it might be heavy, was heavy. My friend couldn't finish it. Everything else was delicious! For dessert we got the ferrero rocher cake which was unfortunately dry dry dry. The raspberry dark chocolate tart was yummy! And the caramel pudding (it has a fancy Italian name but I can't recall it). That was my fave dessert. Though the dessert cart was cute - I'd much prefer a moist cake slice. Maybe they could use a cloche of some sort to cover the cakes. Service was average - nothing spectacular but also nothing bad to say about it. Do make sure you are prepared to order everything from antipasti down at the same time so the chef can pace your meal. The ambiance is unique and fun!!! Though someone PLEASE oil the bathroom stall doors.

I first heard about this restaurant on social media-someone had posted a video of the beautiful interior, and I was immediately in love. I'm digging this tradition of restaurants putting tons of effort into making their aesthetic Instagram-worthy. This one gets all the points for that. Service is also top notch. When we arrived as well as when we left, every staff member that we passed made eye contact with us, thanked us for being there and basically treated us like celebrities. They did that with everyone. The food is very good, but smaller portions and a bit on the pricy side. There is no complimentary bread-you can, however, order from a little booklet of breads, if you choose to do so. But have your entire order ready at once-they ask that you place one order all together. That was a little odd-I usually like to get an appetizer while I mull over the rest of the menu. Since that wasn't an option, we skipped appetizers altogether. I ordered the bavette steak and my wife had the ravioli. The steak was very good, terrific flavor, but cooked more to medium rare than medium. I'll order medium-well next time. The ravioli was tasty, but subdued. Pretty small portion-should have ordered a salad to accompany it. The restaurant is rather small, and the tables will accommodate groups from 2-4, I would not recommend larger groups, unless they had additional seating in a private area that I did not see. Bottom line-beautiful place, amazing service. Pretty good food.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the food, cocktails and service here but I'm only giving it 4 stars because she cut her finger on the metal bathroom stall lock. The food is delicious and pricey but worth it for a special evening to treat yourself. I got the seafood pasta and my friend got the lemon chicken and we shared. The salad and the bread with ricotta and honey was so fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend this spot for a nice dinner. Make sure to book a reservation or you can ask to sit at the bar or patio.

Iranian graffiti is a fun experience. It's a great place for both dates and girls nights. The restaurant's decorator did an excellent job. It doesn't fit with the typically designed restaurant, but the atmosphere sets it apart even if the food does not. We loved our appetizers of garlic bread and arancini. The ravioli had very little filling for the oversized pasta and left all of us feeling like it was a waste. The carbonara was disappointing. The gnocchi pasta itself was very well made, light, and pillowy, although the sauce wasn't as good as I would have liked. The lemon cake for dessert was refreshing. Overall, the food was better than average and the decor was fabulous. Our waiter, Stew, was absolutely amazing. He knew the menu front to back and gave excellent descriptions and recommendations. He was highly attentive and made the night even more enjoyable.

Amazing, absolutely amazing! From the nice service to delicious food everything was great. Self playing piano was a fun beautiful touch. The burrata was perfect the gnocchi was so light and fluffy and the spicy rig was truly spicy! Only thing I would change is taking the silverware and giving new ones for the main courses. Need to go back and try more, especially the pistachio tiramisu.

Bone marrow truffle risotto was cooked perfectly. Pairs well with the arugula salad which had honey roasted pecans and the lightest and flavorful dressing. Ambience is beautiful with the cherry blossom tree in the middle. There was a lot of thought put into the restaurant; the driftwood table as you entered, the beauty plates, the paradiso was clean and refreshing, the table lights that looked like golden mushrooms, they had a person to fill up water (my cup was never empty), the blue glass cups, and the the boards that held the tab was laser cut. I wish I took more pictures but overall enjoyed being in the moment. They sold out of the cherry ricotta tart. So we opted for the peach cinnamon panna cotta which was smooth but the cinnamon overpowered the peaches, you lost the fresh peach flavor in the mix. The service was impeccable. The staff polished the giblets until they sparkled. Everyone was very nice. And looked like they really love their job. Definitely going back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

This is opening weekend for Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice at the Eccles and also my Anniversary with my wife. So a fun date night was in order. We wanted to try something new and a little upscale and so we booked reservations at Italian Graffiti at the Gateway. I requested a romantic table and was seated at a very cute table tucked away in the corner just for us. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with big trees in perpetual spring bloom lit up like a celebration, fun whimsical painted walls and Mario indicating the men's room and Princess Pea for the ladies. No pictures but when you go you'll see what I mean. Ambiance was outstanding. 5/5, more if I could. The food, let me tell you about the food, so good. We started with the Cacio e Pepe Beignets; Parmigiano, Black Pepper, Calabrian Honey, at the suggestion of a fellow Yelper, and they did not disappoint, yummy tasty blend of sweet and savory balls of goodness. 5/5 must try! We followed this with a selection from their bread menu which was fun, if not a little pricey. We selected the wheat sourdough accompanied by "pan drippings ", my wife's favorite, whipped butter with local honey, olive oil with a great earthy build that included rosemary, pine and sage flavors that I really enjoyed and fresh butter with sea salt that I loved. It was a rather large half loaf of bread, I didn't think we would be able to finish it, but we managed. 5/5 My wife ordered the Sweet Corn Scarpinocc; Utah Corn, Mascarpone, Brown Butter Sauce, Blueberry Balsamic, Basil. Something we've never had before and completely loved it. The portion size was a bit small but the quality and flavor were well worth it, quality over quantity every time. She usually doesn't finish her plates but she finished this one. And she thought the portion was just fine. So good this was a 10 out of 5. She even let me share a couple of bites. 10/5 I ordered the Meatballs Over Bucatini; Ace's Meatballs, Vodka Sauce, Whipped Ricotta, Pecorino, and loved it. The Bucatini is a spaghetti type noodle with a hole through it that allows for more sauce with each bite and the vodka sauce was on point with just a hint of a kick and so much better than a typical marinara sauce. The meatballs had a nice texture and very good flavor and the portion of this dish was good. I only finished about two thirds and it was so good. 5/5 Oh and Beetlejuice was really good, I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. It detoured from the movie in a good way and was really funny, good songs. I expected it to be about a three and left thinking it was a solid eight out of ten. Go see it if you can get tickets. All in all another great night out.

Really good food. Spicy rigatoni is on par with carbone. Chicken parm yummy.. service, meh. Not soo good. If I order a pasta course and a second course, don't drop both at once. Like come on! Especially for the price point. Cool atmosphere. But lack of service isn't ok. Giving a higher rating because good food seems hard to come by post Covid and bad service is the norm...you can get better. I'll try again

Ambiance: It is right in their middle of down town Salt Lake City and the restaurant is beautiful in side. It is an awesome spot for a special occasion or just a fun date night. It is a little it more expensive but I think it is worth it. The staff is super friendly and helpful when it comes to eating restrictions. Over all just a very nice establishment for a nice dinner! Food: The food is amazing! Everything I tried tasted fresh and home made. I do not think you can go wrong with what you order everything that came out of the kitchen looked good. I will say that the portions are a little bit on the smaller end but that's okay because it makes up for it with the taste. YOU DO HAVE TO PAY FOR BREAD, but it is fresh and worth the little extra honestly. I tried the Arancini and I would say that it is a must try it stated fresh and crispy and didn't leave one bit of sauce left. I got the Gnocchi and it was so fluffy the sauce was super creamy and delicious! I tried a littler bit of everyone's though and everything was good! But like I said it is okay that the portions are small because the deserts are so good they have all kids of different cakes and cheese cakes both the lemon blue berry and the tiramisu cheesecake were both amazing!

We had such a wonderful experience here last weekend from start to finish! We had made reservations at 9pm but our film got out much earlier than we anticipated, so we walked over closer to 7:45/8pm just to ask if we could get in earlier. We weren't expecting to, so we had a backup plan to grab a drink elsewhere if we needed to. They were so accommodating and said that they could get us seated in about 20 minutes, which was so nice! This place was super crowded on a Saturday night with large parties and groups and all of the tables were full. Our server was lovely, and I can't remember his name but he was wonderful. We started with the Caccio e Pepe beignets which are a MUST! If you're going here, get them!! They were amazing, gooey, delicious, and just wonderful. We also got the prosciutto truffle fries which were also delicious. You can never go wrong with an order of truffle fries. One thing to note - they don't let you order appetizers first, they request that you put your entire food order in at the same time. I ordered the ravioli and it was lovely, definitely a little bit on the smaller side of a portion than I was expecting, but paired with the appetizers I left very full. They have a dessert cart that brings out their delicious offerings of cakes and deliciousness and we ordered the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake with a brownie crust and topped with Reese's peanut butter cups. It was wonderful and we were so stuffed we had to take part of it to go. I stuck with aperol spritz's for the night which were lovely, but they also had a wonderful cocktail menu that I'm looking forward to coming back to explore their other options. Just a wonderful experience and I'm so glad to have a spot like this in town!

Amazing Italian restaurant! Beautiful atmosphere, great service and tasty food. They make everything in house - bread, pasta, cheese even olive oil. The bread was wonderful and the oil was the best I've had. I asked the waiter what brand of olive oil they buy from to find out that they make their oil in house. Next we had salads and both Caesar and beets salad was really really good. Fresh, local and lots of flavors. For mains we had carbonara. The pasta was good but I didn't like the sauce as much. It was very lacking in flavors. Overall excited to come back for another meal to try more on the menu.

Italian graffiti is beautiful inside. I wish I got more pictures of the decor and the aesthetic but there's a large tree in the middle. The windows at the top are actually on the main level of downtown. I parked in the Gateway parking structure and was able to walk. The door to Italian graffiti is actually inside the Gateway even though you can see the restaurant from the main street. The food is absolutely delicious. I got the gnocchi which had wagu beef and truffle. Absolutely delicious!! The prosciutto truffle fries were delicious, I wish there was more prosciutto on the fries, but they were great. Their drink and wine menu was awesome with so many different options. This is a great spot for a date night to celebrate, a family dinner, or to catch up with some friends!

LOVED!!! And might be one of my favorite restaurants in Utah now!!! The ambiance made me feel like I wasn't in Utah (I love Utah--I just like to feel like I'm on a trip somewhere else). The wallpaper, grass wall, lights on the trees, chandeliers...everything was a ten on the looks. The food was delicious! I had the brazino (sea bass) and it was delicious! It was not a heavy fish--very light and delicious!! We loved the baguette w eggplant and the arugula salad w/o cheese. We ate here on a Saturday night and the food was served very timely. We had a chance to enjoy before they brought the next thing, but were never waiting. Linda was a server and she was excellent!! I would definitely recommend and will be back!! Thanks for a great night!!

Handmade Burrata - Eggplant Caponata, Marinated Tomato, Old Balsamic Steak Tartare Hand Cut PFilet, Tarragon Remoulade, Rye Spiced Waffle Fries Prosciutto Truffle Fries Hand Cut Kennebec Potatoes, Parmigiano, San Daniele Prosciutto, Black Truffle, Herbs Caesar Artisan Romaine, Sourdough Croutons, Parmigiano Little Gem Sweet Lettuce, Crispy Pancetta, Gorgonzola DOP, White Balsamic, Honey Crisp Apples, Candied Walnut Brittle MY FAVORITE - Pappardelle All'Anatra Slow Braised Duck Bolognese, Parmigiano, Herb Oil Bucatini Alla Carbonara Guanciale, Pancetta, Black Pepper, Parmigiano Nana's Cannelloni Tomato Braised Pork, Marinara, Whipped Ricotta, Pecorino Lamb Shank Parmigiano Polenta, Pickled Tomato, Natural Jus, Mint Gremolata Everything was so delicious!! Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful decor and good food. I ate at the bar and had good service. Staff a bit too cool and a little too serious for basic Italian restaurant. For $90 for one person with tip for two glasses of wine, salad and pasta, probably will dine elsewhere next visit. Seemed like a $50 with tip $60, kinda meal. The wine was very good, hence the 4th star.

A refreshing restaurant that delights the senses, great for special occasions. My wanted to surprise me with a new and unique dinner option for my birthday. Italian Graffiti did not disappoint. The moment you step inside, you're greeted with whimsical yet elevated decor (think Anthropologie meets dining) as well as a cast of personable and knowledgeable waitstaff. The menu offers an array of unique culinary combinations and experiences. No doubt, we will be getting the rye sourdough when we next visit. The olive oil, made in-house, is the best we've ever tasted. The beignets were perfectly crispy on the outside, and deliciously gooey on the inside, a perfect marriage of sweet and savory. The Parmesan cheese really shined. The meatballs had a very favorable texture, but perhaps more noteworthy were the bed of thick noodles, coated with a sauce that you can't help but close your eyes in enjoyment as you taste. The chicken parmesan offered a delectable crunch, with a juicy and flavorful chicken filling. And the arugula salad on top was definitely not an afterthought as it truly complimented the dish. I can't wait to try something new upon my next return!

I've seen a video of this new opening on IG slc foodie page that seemed like a great place to check out. Therefore, we made reservations here for my birthday dinner. When we arrived, it was so busy that they were only taking reservations and I'm glad we made one. The inside decor was beautiful, with the trees sitting in the middle of restaurant goers making the vibes very romantic. We started off with truffle fries and baked clams which were delicious to start off with. I had the carbonara and my fiance had this seafood pasta with black ink squid pasta. Both were delicious! I would only think to make the entrees bigger but very satisfied with the visit.

The gateway has been changing a ton over the last few years, and the addition of Italian Graffiti adds to that change in a great way. Upscale Italian food with a really nice atmosphere. I was able to stop by with a group of 5 and tried quite a few dishes. I really enjoyed the tartare and pappardelle. I would consider coming back for an upscale experience, and the atmosphere is a big part of that. The decor in the restaurant is nice, and the tree was a nice touch. Service wise, it was good. My server and the other staff were friendly, but the meal took quite a while to come out. I fully understand coursing out a meal, and European style dining, but 2+ hours is still a long meal. The pricing seemed a bit inflated for some of the dishes, like the fries that were underwhelming for the price. Overall the experience was good, and I would definitely consider returning. There are still plenty of dishes I would love to try.

Really good pasta carbonara. The service was great. It's a little pricey, but nice if you are looking to have a fancy dinner.

Horrible service, inattentive servers. Portion sizes are very small and overpriced. 1 star for the pretty lights.

A few thing's... 1st and foremost the menu isn't that big at all and there was about 5 items on the menu that they were out of and they were mostly the popular ones. They were also out of several wines. Our server was a bit over the top and made our group feel like we weren't classy enough to be there. The ambience is beautiful but the tables are a bit small. Overall this is my rating for each area. Food: 4/5 food tastes great but on the smaller portion size for the prices. Service: 2/5 We definitely over tipped Atmosphere: 4/5

Went for a birthday dinner, lovely place, the decor is stunning. They do need a sign in the actual door, it was a bit confusing finding the actual entrance. The cherry blossoms were a nice touch. The service was good, they tag team, we had Stew and he was fun. Started off with the bread service, they do oil and butter in the same dish. Which was ok, I would rather have butter by itself and oil and vinegar. Tried the house made burrata, it was good but nothing spectacular. But the Aracini was incredible, flavorful, light and th e cream sauce on top made these balls the highlight. Did the Reggio Limeatta and it was a great drink. We had the scallops, clams and linguini, carrots and eggplant parm. The eggplant parm was one of the best versions I have ever had. The scallops were cooked to perfection. For dessert did the lemon blueberry cake. But so wish they had coffee, or tea anything like that to finish off the meal.

At one time a California Pizza Kitchen it was late 2022 that Las Vegas Chef Marc Marrone opened Italian Graffiti inside The Gateway of Salt Lake City, Marc and co-owner Reed Slobusky of Nice Hospitality sparing no expense to create a beautiful room serving equally elegant Pastas, Antipasti and Secondi. Fortunate enough to eat a lot of Chef Marrone's food during the pandemic, in that case Asian-influenced Graffiti Bao, Italian Graffiti sees him tap into family recipes passed down from his grandparents and featuring locally-sourced Ingredients from Utah's small farms. Built around an open kitchen and bar, each member of the staff wearing a smile atop comprehensive knowledge of the menu, it is while taking in the scene unfolding beneath flowers that guests should begin with Housemade Bread including rustic Rye Sourdough served with a la carte condiments such as good Olive Oil, Olives, Pan Drippings and Normandy Butter. Torn between Marc's world-class Meatballs and delicate Cacio e Pepe Beignets it was the latter that won out thanks to their novelty, each of five golden-crisp with a molten center though that is certainly no reason to pass on Whipped Ricotta with Local Honey or Handmade Burrata served alongside Peaches, Pesto and Duck Prosciutto. Placing 2-tops along the edge with banquettes in the middle, at least ninety diners seated shortly after opening, it was with music playing lightly that the first of two Pastas arrived featuring pockets of local Corn in Brown Butter Sauce with assertive Blueberry Balsamic and bits of fresh Basil. A mix of tradition and contemporary cooking, the hand-milled Polenta served simply with Butter and two types of Cheese, Secondi got skipped in favor of Rabbit Tortellini that tastes like a more refined and delicate form of classic Sausage & Peppers. Again challenged by the desire for multiple desserts as a solo diner the decision was made to defer, both a server and GM suggesting Marc's Salt Caramel Budino that might have been better without Chocolate, though that is largely just a matter of personal preference and certainly didn't stop every single spoonful from being devoured.

Overall, we had some service hiccups for our first visit. Which was not a good start, but staff was cognizant of errors and did better as the night continued so I'm not going to touch too much on that point. But, after having reservations and being there 30 minutes and still not having received water or ordered drinks, there's some points to work on there. The short review is that we had a good experience. The food was quite good with only nitpicky criticisms. This restaurant has great atmosphere and food potential. The only real criticisms was that the majority of the dishes that we had were all a touch under seasoned. As delicious as they had the potential to be, they were just missing some simple salt, which was an overall noticeable miss. We ordered the full....every course,...Italian meal and therefore we left with a lot of take home boxes. The overall winner for the night was definitely the Seafood Fra Diavolo. No flaws, seafood and pasta or cooked perfectly! Sauce was well seasoned and had the absolute right amount of heat and acidity. Bravo. The disappointment for the evening was surprisingly the Caesar salad. Very watery, not very flavorful. Overall, good experience. Not without flaws, many. But understandable ones. I hope this restaurant can move forward without getting caught up in itself.
