Lupessa is an absolute gem—truly one of a kind in Salt Lake City. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the stunning interior design and inviting atmosphere. The service was equally impressive: warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. Our server, Petro, was an outstanding host. He took the time to walk us through the concept of the restaurant and the menu with such care and enthusiasm that it really elevated our experience. The food itself was nothing short of fantastic—beautifully presented and full of flavor. We felt welcomed and relaxed throughout our meal, with no pressure to rush. It was a memorable evening from start to finish, and we can't wait to return.

Beautiful atmosphere. We had a reservation but took an earlier seat at the bar. The pork chop was good. The risotto was disappointing, however. Delicious rice and cheese sauce once you picked through the big gobs of spinach and whole mushrooms. We knew it’d have some, but thought it’d still be mostly rice. After picking through it, there was maybe a tablespoon or two of rice left to eat. However, they were happy to replace it, and the gnocchi was absolutely delicious. The ricotta and honey appetizer with bread was divine. Overall, food ranges from not good to fabulous. Prices are a bit much. Service was good, not fabulous. Pretty good experience, but probably not worth the prices enough to go back.

Atmosphere is unbeatable, as is the food and wine choices. We tried the carpacio, which was superb. My entree was also superb (and made for wonderful leftovers). Will DEFINITELY go back!

We visited La Lupessa to celebrate my brother’s birthday—he’s a big fan of pasta and Italian food—and overall, the experience was very good. The place is easy to access, with plenty of parking since it’s located in a small shopping center, which makes it super convenient. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by a great musical atmosphere—there was a person playing the piano at the entrance, which added a really special touch. The decor is simply beautiful and totally Instagram-worthy, with every corner carefully designed. Service was outstanding from the very beginning. We were served water as soon as we sat down, and the staff remained attentive throughout our visit. You really feel well taken care of. As for the food, it was good—nothing extraordinary or unforgettable, but still enjoyable and well-prepared. Overall, the ambiance and service were excellent, and while the food wasn’t mind-blowing, it was definitely good. I’d recommend La Lupessa if you’re looking for a stylish spot with great service, perfect for a celebration or a nice evening out.

The menu is a traditional italian menu with multiple courses. The focaccia bread was amazing. We had a salad, meatballs, gnocchi, scallops and broccolini. Every bite was great. And such a pretty atmosphere. We’ll be back and bring friends next time.

Lupessa Italian at the Gateway was a bit of a mixed experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was friendly, but the food itself felt hit or miss. Some dishes were enjoyable, while others fell a little flat. The biggest disappointment was the temperature of our meal our 28 oz ribeye arrived barely warm, which took away from what should’ve been a standout dish. There’s potential here, but for the price point, I expected more consistency and attention to detail.

Excellent and very attentive service. Classy booths to sit in. Atmosphere was nice. The spaghetti and meatballs were really good. My date got the lasagna. It was great lasagna but I personally think it needs more sauce. Not much, but it could use a bit more. If I could say a negative about it, the desserts are too expensive. They are $15. The dessert didn’t blow me away. They would be nicely priced at $11. We got the raspberry lemon cake. The raspberry sauce still had seeds in it. Very peculiar.

The meatball appetizer was the star of the night. The risotto was not good and I was so disappointed. The steak entree was mediacore. Even a little salt to bring out flavor would have helped. The tiny bit of butter served with the steak was the saving grace. The vibe was pretty and the music was club level loud.
