"Brought to London by Mexico City's leading taqueria, this place delivers real Mexican street food to Villiers street, from quesadillas with cheese and Mexican cactus to shredded pork carnitas. It can get crowded, so be sure to make a reservation. If you happen to drop by, you can always order a margarita while you wait. There are two other outposts."

Went here for team Christmas lunch, was a little bit hesitant at first due to the rating on Google. But we were pleasantly surprised. The lady who welcomed and served us was very warming and friendly. Food was also good. Definitely recommend the guacamole that’s made at the table, it’s very tasty. Good experience, thank you!

Google
Cheap and quite good quality for the price. Their guacamole is great, tacos al pastor too. Their pastel de 3 leches won't beat the one from Mestizo, but it's still pretty good :-)

Google
Food fantastic, and beautiful menu. Let down slightly by the speed of service - but we were a large group on a Monday lunchtime, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt! Staff very friendly.

Google
The menus looks exciting but it is very much the same. Service is rushed and impersonal. Food is really just normal for the price. Ordered a dish with pork scratching on top but came with pork wheat crisps, such a fraud. I can not recommend and not think I’ll be back!

Google
Best Mexican food in London! It's so hard for us to find authentic Mexican food in the UK and Lupita saved us from our cravings! The pastor is especially good!

Seven years ago on 1st November Lupita East opened. Here’s a photo of the night. Serving brilliant Mexican food for many years now.

Very tasty mexican food, we had tacos and burrito with caldo de pollo and the flavours were really good! Like it.

Yelp
Great Mexican food at great prices. Knew as soon we smelled the food, when we walked in, that the it would be authentic and tasty. Warning...The spicy dips are like lava, but delicious!! We paid with Dines app too, so got a good discount. If you've not signed up, use the Dines sign up code: HX4RP and you'll get £5 off too. Enjoy!!

Yelp
So we went here as part of a coworker's leaving party. I have been to another branch of Lupita before. But I don't remember much about that one. But this one, will stay in mind. We had about 12 people including me, so we did get good attention from the waiters. It is a bit on the pricey side. But in London, I think this is the norm. So I am not complaining. The food is great. I think great is an understatement. Don't go strictly by the menu. Some items even though marked as spicy weren't spicy. Some that was marked less spicy were more awesome. You can also ask for more salsa or other hot sauce if you like it fiery. We had a variety of stuff from Classicos (freshly baked nachos with guacamole, cheese and sour cream and hot sauce), Tostadas and Ceviches - Volcan, Tinga de carne, Enchiladas, Tacos and so on. For finishing it all off, we had some amazing Churros. I realized that what I had from Winter Wonderland was not even close to Churros. I was lied to my whole life that Winter Wonderland served Churros. But on that day, I was enlightened and guess what, they give salted caramel and chocolate dips. So you are just not going to stop. I cannot say how much I enjoyed it. Probably because I went there with all my mates. We had a lovely time and will go there again when we have another occasion to celebrate.

Yelp
We came here for a friend's birthday (small group). Overall, I thought the restaurant was ok. Not great. I ordered a burrito, which I was fine but not necessarily better than what you'd find at other burrito chains. I had no issues with the service (the restaurant was fairly empty). The egregious offense, though (ok, that's maybe a bit dramatic) was the tableside "Guacamole Artesanal." For £11, you get not one, but one and a half (!) avocados mixed with spices and other fixings you'd normally expect to see in guacamole. Don't get me wrong - the flavor was very good, but wow was this horribly overpriced. That wasn't the worst part, though. You know in movies when something's falling but everyone's slightly too far to catch it so they all watch in horror as [insert end of the world event occurring yada-yada-yada]? That was me as I watched our server wipe up the excess guacamole from the rim of the mixing bowl to give it a better appearance. It all happened in slow motion and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Again, dramatic? Maybe, but we're talking about guacamole here; I'm going to err on the side of no. Overall, it was a pleasant meal with friendly service. It's just unfortunately very overpriced (the taco meals come with just two tacos) and doesn't differentiate itself enough from the plethora of other chain "mexican" places around town (most of which server little more than burritos). Again, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not authentic. Alas, the hunt for true Mexican food in London continues.

Yelp
Salad needs more greens in it, dressing was a shade light. Chicken was good. No wow factor, less than whelemed, need to give it another go with another dish to have a final verdict.

Yelp
As a family from California staying as tourists in the area, this family-run place was a welcome dose of home as we spent 2-1/2 weeks enjoying European, English, Indian, and other international food. London is, after all, a world-class city. The salsa was spicy, the guacamole was made table-side, and our dinner was on-point. Recommend this spot to all the local hipsters on Commercial St as well as passing tourists. Tacos!

Yelp
The food is amazing kudos to the kitchen crew. My one star is for the management and the peeps on the floor, bar was closed 45 minutes before 10:30pm and the manager argued with the food delivered driver at least twice then one server argued with the kitchen crew twice all of that in front of us.

Yelp
Very decent location and very honestly very quite early evening. Decent portions and yum guacamole. I would definitely recommend groups and bookings are fairly efficient.

Yelp
I have three main qualms with this establishment: 1) the service is not good, with the rude servers making cheeky comments, 2) the tiny portion size, and 3) this is simply not authentic Mexican food. While it was a lovely atmosphere, with nice decor and good music, it was definitely an overall lacklustre experience and not somewhere I would ever go back to or recommend to any of my friends (or even my enemies). Our first experience with the waitress, Pilar, was when my friend asked if she could add meat to the roasted vegetable quesadilla. The waitress responded sassily, saying, "No, it's a ROASTED VEGETABLE quesadilla, do you not understand?" We ordered the chicharrones, which is normally fried pork fat. Their version of chicharrones was not that. While it was still tasty, it was clearly misnamed. When my friend's quesadilla arrived, we immediately noticed that it was not a quesadilla, and in fact, was smaller than a taco. When we pointed this out to Pilar, she didn't see a problem with the tiny amount of food or the inaccuracy of the name 'quesadilla.' The rest of the meal was not terrible, but it was also nothing special. This is not the worst Mexican food I've ever had, but it is certainly not in my top 30. I am normally not one to write negative reviews, but I left Lupita confused, hungry, and scared of Pilar. That is not an experience I would wish upon anybody.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They answered every question i asked regarding the menu and treated us like a guest. The food was great. Small portion but very feeling. If you are here the first time, definitely should try the Guacomelo Artsenal. Is good for sharing too. They use fresh raw ingredients and they prepare it in front of you so you can see how is it made. From Avocado to tomatoes, onions, jalapenõ, olive oil and half of lemon is so easy that you can made one at home! Is always better when you do it at home!

Yelp
Cute little place with a good looking menu. However, some of their beverages are not made authentically or the same way as they are presented on the menu. Service is not the best even when the place is empty.

Valeria E.

Yelp
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! First of all the food is way to expensive to what it actually is. Flavorless it looks and feel like it has been dumped on water for hours before service. It's very hit or miss, an insult to Mexican food.  Also there's items in the menu where the price is not properly listed or have no price at all. It's super misleading!! And let's not talk about the desserts. Average and literally not good.  Payed £63,95 for terrible food.  Very disappointed I will never come back!!

Yelp
The food is actually pretty decent (albeit way overpriced), but the service is terrible. I gave this place two chances and they dropped the ball both times. FIRST VISIT: I came with a group. It took 20 minutes for our margaritas and 45 minutes for our food. Then, when the food finally came, they ended up putting onions in one of my group member's quesadillas, even though she explicitly told them beforehand that she could not eat them; the quesadilla was actually LOADED with onions. We told the waiter and he disappeared and never came back for the entire length of our visit. So of course, we had to tell the manager at this stage and he asks her is she wants something else. She orders a queso fundido (without chorizo or anything else added) and that took 30 minutes as well, even though the manager kept popping by saying that it was coming right out. It literally took 30 minutes for a bowl of melted cheese. At this point, we were all irritated and ready to go. Of course, by the time we finally got the check, there were lot of errors. Oy vey. SECOND VISIT: I came by myself. I ordered a caipirinha, which was actually pretty good. I then pulled up my phone and prepared to show the bartender who took my order that I had the Yelp check-in offer for a free bowl of guacamole. I pull up the app and show the guy my phone, as I was about to click on the offer to redeem, my phone died and completely shut off. The bartender then told me that it was too bad and that he couldn't give me the guacamole because he couldn't push the button to redeem. The guacamole was only $5. He then leaves and proceeds to make my drink, but then just lets the drink sit on the counter and refused to come back. After 10 minutes, the manager went over to the bar, grabbed my drink and dropped it off at my table while telling me that she "wasn't allowed" to give me the free guacamole because she didn't see the offer being redeemed. I explained to her that I showed it to the bartender and then my phone cut off. She would not budge and told me to try again tomorrow. I explained to her that I was visiting from the US and would be leaving the next day and that it wouldn't be possible for me to come back. She did not care and told me that she wasn't going to do it. This was really unfortunate that she would not give someone who is obviously visiting a free $5 guacamole when I showed that I had the offer because she did not see it herself. I planned on staying and ordering a few rounds of drinks and dessert in addition to the overpriced dinner I was going to get, but ultimately decided to just get up and order my entrée to go so that the useless waiter/bartender would not get the automatic 12.5% gratuity that they include on the bill. I don't think I will go out of my way to come here the next time I am in the UK.

Yelp
Something about this place told me it would be disappointing. I knowwww I moved to London from the Mission in SF but I really hate that brand of "oh I lived in place x where they make the best y in the world so I'm ruined forever" snobbery so please allow me to be as objective as possible. TAKEAWAY REVIEW: - Food: I ordered a carnitas burrito and it was sadly bland, lacking in spice or really any flavour aside from flour tortilla, greasy cheese, and some shredded pork. +1 star for the salsa verde, served on the side. - Service: friendly staff even though I was just grabbing takeaway. They offered to bring me water or a drink while I waited. Service was relatively quick. - Price: Ees espensive! £11 for a guacamole starter? Sad face. The price/quality ratio just seems way off to me. Maybe it's better for eating in?

Yelp
I've been meaning to go to Lupita on the Embankment since it opened (a really long time ago) so I was cuffed they had a sister restaurant in Shoredich when I was in need of feeding before a show at the RichMix. Bright, open restaurant with faulty towers type management and a private room/bar downstairs for events (you have to go past this on your trip to the loo). It was a Saturday early evening, and we hadn't booked. This seemed to be a bit of an issue despite only one other couple being there. By the time we had left there were still plenty of tables free so I do wonder if they make a big deal of things to seem popular? Who knows the logic beyond people not turning up for their booked tables. The menu seemed to have a Wachacca feel about it, with lots of small plates offered and plenty of explanation of what each of the dishes were. I'm not going to lie - I was shocked that if you wanted to get some guacamole (which, lets face it is a given in a mexican restaurant) you had to pay at least £5 for a bit of guac. There was also an option for around £10 to have it made in front of you. While the idea of watching someone mash up an avocado infront of you completely defeats me - a few people did opt for this service. I suppose if you are paying that much for a bit of lime juice and onion you want a bit of a show with it. Anyway - safe to say this upset me. Otherwise, we ordered a mix of the small plates and the special which was a chilli prawn open taco which had a really lush kick to it. Another niggle, the plates come threes, which means there was a fight between me and the Mrs for the last one of each plate. Grrr. However, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was good.

Yelp
Came back last Tuesday and it completely changed my opinion! I had forgotten that they have a 3X2 deal on tacos on Tuesday: order three plates of tacos, pay two. I came back here with my boyfriend and our flatmate and we had a wonderful time. Pollos encebollados (chicken with onion) tacos are a total blast and so are the churros.

Yelp
By choice, I don't go to Lupita (except for the first time) because I know that my incredibly low expectations will be barely met. Eating at Lupita is like eating at Bland Blanderson's house with Blando Calrissian in the land of Blandonia. I seriously don't get what people see here. Okay, they have a nice tequila selection (although that can be said for a lot of places). They do have free (with Yelp check-in) incredibly bland guacamole that they make at your table. When I was there on a Tuesday night, they were never more than half-full the entire night, so you can probably get a table easily. (Although for me, a half-full restaurant speaks of a whole lot more...) Given the fullness of the restaurant we did have incredibly attentive service though. What did I have? Well I redeemed my check-in for the free guacamole made at your table. Which is great. Except that it's bland and underseasoned. I mean they should hire me to make their guac because people would be lined up for it. We also split the queso fundido with chorizo. (Seriously if you come here, just get that, because it was good. Not like anyone can screw up melted cheese with a bit of chorizo in it...no skill involved in that!) I ordered the beef tostadas, the refried beans and the chilis. The beef tostadas (that had one chili next to them on the menu mind you) were bland. The refried beans were bland and weirdly sweet (as if the they put in sugar instead of salt? I don't know). I ordered the chilis to put on everything to give flavor (as you do at Lupita, because it's the only thing on the menu that isn't bland). So yeah, if you like bland Mexican, come here. Apparently it's for the "British palate" but I think that if that's their excuse the chef needs to learn how to cook with spices because I have more faith in British people than that. The service and staff are really nice and friendly though, so that's a plus, but not enough of a plus to make me want to come back (unless my friend is visiting from out of town and she chooses the place and I want to see her which is why I ventured back into a Lupita in the first place).

Yelp
Enjoyed our meal at Lupita. Tacos, burrito and rice were all quite good. Simple atmosphere with friendly staff and good Mexican food.

Yelp
Hmm, I don't know, it's just not anything worth recommending. Good if you like a middle-of-the-road or a quick-fix/passing bite, but the food isn't exciting and the staff would rather shout about who has the cigarettes/who's on-shift over actual service!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here last night and was delighted to discover there was a yelp check-in offer o redeem. This was for a £10 item (awesome!) of guac made at the table. Now this is where they lose a star - unfortunately our waitress was really quiet and sad looking. Maybe she was having an off day, but if you're having guac made at the table, you do expect some showmanship...? (And the rest of the time, she was a bit awkward and hovery. It's a small thing though...) Otherwise the guac tasted great - and was a huge portion (tho I think the accompanying chips were a little unappetising). The main of truffle quesadilla was interesting but a little bland - luckily the dips we had at the start were fun to mix in and try. The dessert was stunning though (almond dime torte) and they even gifted as a tequila cafe shot as we paid the bill. If only all restaurants could get the service spot-on! Would return x

Yelp
Love this Lupita! Really love the free Yelper check in of guacamole made at our table. This was some of the best guac I've had and a super generous serving portion. She even brought extra chips! I wasn't so in love with my chicken salad, it was alright, but I would preferred a tortilla basket than strips of tortilla. The other taco offerings looked solid. And they actually have a really wide and varied menu to choose from. Almost too much! I'd love to come here for lunch.
google avatar

Mit S.

Yelp
Oh little wolf from the east! You are so much better than your more central counterpart! Why? Well, it's just more relaxed here. There's more space, more light and presumably as a result the staff are under less pressure, so the food and service is better. In fact the service here is really nice and you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. I had enchiladas which could have benefitted from a little more spice but was accompanied by a couple of different chilli sauces and was very tasty. It's a bit pricey for what you get but roughly in line with what you'd pay at Boho Mexica up the road, making it a pretty decent dining option in the area especially if you're trying to avoid the terrible excuse for curry served by most of the establishments in nearby Brick Lane. 4 stars though because so far only Mestizo deserves 5 for this type of cuisine!

Anika R.

Yelp
Not worth the price... small portions of lackluster food. Not what I would call authentic Mexican. The quesadillas are miniature and overpriced, the burritos are somewhat small. Might be good as a pricy/trendy tapas place, but not as a regular restaurant.
google avatar

Selma W.

Yelp
This isn't a WOW place but certainly pleasing to the tastebuds. We ordered the tacos and after being a little disappointed with the portion size we tucked in and the flavour certainly packed a punch. The guacamole and churros doesn't go without praise too. But nothing gave me that urge to shout from the rooftops...which in London sadly means you probably won't find me there again.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
My work friends and I go here often for their margaritas. Normally quiet Mondays through Thursdays, which means the service is pretty good - my friend went on a Friday though and mentioned that it took forever to get a drink... but that's for her review and not mine. Food's okay - nothing to write home about, but better than some other Mexican places I've been to in the city. The Artisanal Guacamole is great - and I love that you score a free one when you check-in with Yelp. I find the food prices high, but the drink prices are reasonable. Come for the drinks, guac and churros.

Yelp
Meh, not impressed. Maybe being from America, I'm more able to access the hot spots for real authentic Mexican food. This seemed like fancy off tasting Londoners idea of Mexican food. Expensive...inattentive wait staff....food was ok. Our tiny table was never cleared the entire time, empty dishes and glasses were piling up, and our waiter didn't come around once to ask if we wanted our drinks refilled. When we were done and made it clear we were ready for the bill...we sat for 25 minutes before someone finally acknowledged us and brought it over. Maybe it's just my experience though, because other people SEEMED to be enjoying themselves. Good luck!
google avatar

Mae G.

Yelp
This place sucks.. Guacamole was too salty and the service took forever.. We ended up not ordering anything else.
google avatar

Travis O.

Yelp
Maybe I have been spoiled but this is about as far from good Mexican food as there is. The cast iron skillets they served our food in made it taste like cheese flavored I beams...yum

Yelp
We had a pretty average Mexican food. The tacos aren't huge, but nothing special. Tast was good. Service was nice and friendly.
google avatar

Adrian C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the meal at Lupita East. The free guacamole for checking in on yelp was lovely and was a good start to the meal. The waitress was really helpful and suggested a range of dishes to give a good selection. Plenty of variety and all very tasty. Will definitely return.

Mariano H.

Yelp
Having been to yucatan an enjoyed their unique cuisine and flavours, we are glad to have found Lupita East. Authentic cuisine, outstanding cochinita pibil and tacos pastor. Looking for a different drink? Try the mezcal hibiscus, made with flor de jamaica. The margaritas are larger than the usual size at the bar. And don't forget to try churros. Outstanding value for money, def worth a visit.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food in Shoreditch. My partner, some friends and I were in the mood for really good Mexican food so checked out Lupita East which is a 15 minute walk from our place. It did not disappoint. To drink I got the sweet and more-ish horchata, made from rice milk, almonds and cinnamon. My partner and I shared the classicos, basically really good nachos will super fresh guacamole, salsa (a little bit strong and tomato-pastey for our liking), sour cream and cheese. To follow I had the cactus pad corn taco with cheese and pico de gallo. It was way more filling than it appeared to be, tasty and authentic. A real taco. The spicy sauces on the table complimented the flavours of the tacos and added a decent amount of heat. Though already satisfied I finished my meal with the churros with warm cajeta (like dulce de leche, condensed milk caramel). The churros could have been better had they been covered in cinnamon, but the cajeta was delicious. We will be back to eat more tacos and sample the burritos.

Anne Cécile S.

Yelp
Very nice food. So different to usual Eastern Mexican food and much closer to the cuisine my Mexican friends were making. Careful as it gets really busy in weekends and it us best to reserve. The music is usually loud so not a place for a nice and cosy romantic date.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Pretty average Mexican food. The tacos aren't huge, and tasted alright, but nothing special. The horchata also wasn't great. There is a lunch deal, which makes it pretty good value, but I probably won't be back. If you're in the area and fancy Mexican, I would recommend Boho Mexica or even DF/Mexico instead.
google avatar

Kyle V.

Yelp
Lupita looks wonderful and they make you feel welcome and comfortable and the waiters don't uhm and aah too much when asked menu questions. Checked in on Yelp to get the guac made right at the table which was a nice touch and it was (b)limey good. They mention that the taco eating process is a la 'wash, rinse, repeat'. The size of the tacos left me no choice but to deduct a star as two bites later I had literally vanquished my Tacos Pastor (£6.25 or £7.75 with cheese I think). My friend had the Cerviche Acapulco for closer to £9 and also had to order more. All three of us were unsatisfied portion-wise. Considering that a medium burrito from Tortilla is £5 and is pretty filling I would strongly recommend that Lupita reconsiders it's pricing/portion sizing. Ended things off with some lovely churros and will be back to give something else on the menu a try but will definitely not have tacos again as I am not on a cat-walk diet.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
If you are going to Lupita and don't want to deal with the crowds and wait at Lupita by the strand in central london then head to Lupita East a lot less crowded and no wait. I used to like this place alot but lately I feel like its laking something or maybe I'm just bored and need to try another place. Anyways Lupita isn't bad I used to think it was the best Mexican in London. Im just longing for something new.

Yelp
The previous reviews of this place all point up one big problem-service and they are bang-on (as usual). We went on a Saturday night (gulp!). It was not that busy at 8pm but then within about 30 mins all of Commercial Street appeared to enter. Things went well at the start. We had the fantastic guacamole check-in which is worth £10 (don't forget this!) -they make it at the table and it was honestly the best thing we had. We remarked that the taco chips were also nicer than most. I also ordered a pitcher of margarita to assist during the (correctly anticipated) long wait for food. Once we got the booze and guac we had to chase the waiter down about 20 mins later to give our proper order. Once our order was in we waited..and waited, about 30-40 mins I think. When it did arrive they had got my son's burrito order wrong. The waiter wrote it down correctly-no cheese. I said "I hope I won't wait another forty minutes for the replacement". It was more a statement then a question and the waiter, to his credit got it rectified promptly (maybe it was my face when I said it). Our food-meh. Not terrible by any stretch but we chose poorly. We ordered the Carnitas Pibil-marinated pork tacos. The waiter didn't really point out helpful combinations so we ended up with two small tacos each. To be honest, they wouldn't have filled an asthmatic ant. I should have ordered rice and beans also The carnitas were ok, the pork was well cooked and tender, but too dry for my liking. I had had it in a restaurant in San Diego recently and it had more sauce. However, it was certainly tasty (though gone in two secs!). Lupita East may be a victim of its own success and needs to get more servers. I will come back, but maybe on a weekday.

Yelp
Not too bad, I mean, it's not my mother's cooking, but a great find in London! Most of the time, I feel like the only person of Mexican descent in this town. Make sure you check in through yelp and show the wait staff for a free guac & chips. And woo hoo, a variety of Mexican beers!

Shannon M.

Yelp
We come from Texas and are raised on quality guacamole and carnitas so when we came halfway around the world and decided to try Mexican food in London we were ready to be disappointed. Lupita was anything but a disappointment. The ingredients were of the highest quality and everything was seasoned beautifully. The sangria was vibrant and refreshing, the freshly cut chips were crisp, presentation of the enchiladas verde was a great twist (cast iron bowl) that kept everything together. The churros and tres leches were heavenly. The staff were helpful and quick. If they were in Texas I would add them to my regular rotation.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Really great find, especially considering we weren't even trying to find Mexican. Very friendly and attentive staff. Margaritas and guac were amazing. I also really loved my veggie burrito. Sometimes as the veggie in the group you feel a little left out - not here. Super fresh and filling. Thanks a bunch guys! It was amazing. :)

Hank H.

Yelp
Guacamole was authentic and the tocos were ok. I'm still on the hunt for an mexican restaurant in London.
google avatar

Liam F.

Yelp
Very average. Service was initially slow to start with but improved. Guacamole was average - good fresh avocado but no hint of chilli and very little lime. The burrito I had was a little on the small side and while tasty, needed lots of chipotle mayonnaise to give it heat. My friend's prawn tacos were smothered in mayonnaise (not something you would see in a Mexican restaurant) which somewhat ruined the fact the prawns were obviously fresh and quite tasty.
google avatar

Fabio F.

Yelp
I know this doesn't count that much but the place has a great decoration as an atmosphere. As for the food, well what can I say. Simple details make things stand out, for instance the tacos are made with corn a traditional ingredient used by Mexicans. We can also as taste how fresh the food is. It tastes different, much better. Also one of the best costumer services I've seen so far. And yes I'll be returning as many times I can.
google avatar

Scott N.

Yelp
The food was tasty but the tacos needed to be bigger. 2 of the party had to order seconds.

Robert R.

Yelp
If I was rating it just on the food, it would be higher than two stars. I'm admittedly a sucker for the type of tacos they serve here...it was a place that reminded me of a taco place I enjoy in my home city. But I can't give passing marks to a business the misrepresents their prices. When taking my order, the server talked about a special they had and pointed specifically, or so I thought, at the item on the menu. When I received my bill, however, the price of the item was 50% higher than what was shown on the menu and on the receipt it wasn't what it was called. I brought it to his attention and he said, it was because this item was a special item that's not really on the menu and they didn't have it entered in the register. And additional note: the item that was listed on my receipt I didn't see on the menu AT ALL! Anyway, I suppose this was somewhat an acceptable explanation once I heard it, but it doesn't change the fact that there was an unlisted item for sale, the price was not explained, AND the server specifically pointed to an item that was 50% which to me means I was misled. Had I known the price, I would have just asked for the "non-special" item because I would have been happy with that based on the description listed on the menu. And finally, when my order was taken, I pointed to the exact same thing he pointed to which should tell him that's what I was asking for; I definitely never said "special" and I'm not sure if I could even pronounce the special so I have no idea how I asked for it. Even after bringing up the discrepancy no price adjustment was made. This is an important distinction to be made - even when I brought this up to the server NO PRICE ADJUSTMENT WAS MADE. So if you're a sucker for tacos like me AND you're willing to argue over the bill once it arrives, have at this place. Or, you could just choose any other nearby Mexican restaurants with food very similar to this place and you can rest assured you're not paying for made-up food with made-up prices.
