We ordered the seafood linguine, spicy rigatoni, carbonara, and the kids’ rigatoni with tomato sauce — all were delicious and well seasoned. The pasta was flavourful and satisfying, especially for a busy Banff restaurant. It’s not the delicate, handmade style you’d find at a little mom-and-pop spot where the chef shops that morning for each table, but it was still excellent quality and clearly made with care.
We started with the Caesar salad, which was quite anchovy-forward (we usually prefer a more garlicky one, but that’s just personal taste). The drinks, however, were out of this world, and the service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and efficient.
Overall, LUPO delivers good Italian food in the heart of Banff with a lively atmosphere and fantastic cocktails. Would definitely return next time we’re in town (especially because the service was the better of all we had over our stay).
