"IM Thai offers up everything from crunchy spring rolls, curries, noodles, to rice dishes. Look for house specials like the Som Tum Gai Yang, a not-too-spicy dish that includes a papaya salad and Thai grilled chicken." - Erin Russell

This place is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in South Austin! The staff is super friendly, the food is out of this world and I love the neighborhood that it's in. I always enjoy the egg rolls, beef dish and the golden noodles the most! It's a great place for date night or to have get together with friends and family. I highly recommend them!

We finally got a chance to have lunch and ordered drunken noodles, egg rolls and garlic beef stir fry. The drunken noodles and egg rolls were excellent! The beef stir fry with rice was decent and tasty but the side veggies fell a bit short from what we were expecting. During lunch they had tofu soup and a simple salad bar included with your entree which was a nice touch. Looking forward to trying other dishes in the future but it's definitely a nice option especially price wise for lunch.

Quick service. Good food. Highly recommended the golden noodles. The rice balls were good too but a tad sweet for our liking.

Google
Rice balls and pad see ew were solid, worth getting again. The curry isn't worth getting, it's all broth with 1 piece of meat. Staff was nice and restaurant was clean.

Located on Brodie, this restaurant offers Thai delicacies along with a few chinese options. The food was very delicious and the service was prompt, efficient and very friendly. While I only tried their take out option, i would certainly give it another try. Among other dishes, I tried their green curry along with Thai rice, both the dishes were delicious indeed.

LUV Thai Cuisine is our new favorite Thai restaurant in Austin. Food is not overly spicy and very well seasoned (you can request hot, or get a side of their Thai hot pepper flakes to spice it up!). We read the recent reviews and ordered the Yellow Curry, Shrimp Pad Thai and the Pad Pak stir fry. All were delicious! Serving size was generous and we were able the share and still have some to take home. Lots of jumbo shrimp on the Shrimp Pad Thai. See pictures and short video for current hours, menus, food, and dining room. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Austin! Can't wait to go back when we visit again.

Google
well its a nice clean little place but I was only customer when I dined..$18 for a plate of tofu curry noodles and water...I would much rather go to the big buffet at Westgate and 71/290..same price but LOT MORE better food...I wont go back to LUV.. Luv Thai is just another little mom and pop place trying to make it...and thats fine. But for my money, I want more and better food..most restaurants now want to peel at least $20 off each customer for a meal..and I dont mind if the food is really good and plentiful..but these little rip off places irritate me.

Google
I typically love Larb from any and everywhere, but this was an awful experience. 1) there was hair in the sticky rice (see photo). 2) I find it hard to believe this was all ground chicken… it seemed like chopped chicken, or whoever cooked just allowed the ground chicken to become compacted and it morphed back into full breast meat…I get that chopped chicken is usually better than ground, but that’s intentional 3) the flavor was insanely off putting… the onion seemed almost pickled and sweet, it was almost a soup there was so much fish sauce, and I barely tasted rice powder or any spice/seasoning. So disappointing. Also, the egg rolls are not egg rolls. The description does say fried spring roll, so it’s on me that I didn’t read the description, but calling them egg rolls when they aren’t is misleading. This was such a bad experience I won’t be giving them a second chance.

Yelp
Loved the fried rice and crab ragoons here in the past, but I think they must have a new cook because the last time I ate here it was totally different. The restaurant itself is nice, nothing too fancy. I usually end up ordering food for pick up than dining in. Staff is friendly and the service is quick.

Yelp
Solid Thai place in south Austin! Got their pad see ew with tofu and it was great! Service was fast and it wasn't too busy on a Sunday night.

Eric G.

Yelp
We got takeout the other day, I ordered online and it was an easy process. Pickup was fast, friendly, and easy, too. I was left a little disappointed with the food, unfortunately. Pineapple fried rice - the rice was mushy and it was super smokey, which is not something I'm used to with this dish. Spring rolls - the rice paper was sticky, and didn't like the sauce as much as the more peanut-based sauce. Pad Thai - way too sweet for my taste. Tom Kha soup - not the typical flavor I've had at other Thai restaurants, maybe less coconut? White rice - super mushy I generally love Thai food, but unfortunately the dishes I got didn't deliver.

Yelp
First time at this spot and it was pretty good. Restaurant was nice and clean. It was pretty cold inside so maybe bring a light sweater. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered egg rolls to start then Massaman and Panang curry which comes with white rice. Both dishes were delicious I believe because it was lunch time, we also could grab our own complimentary soup from a black cauldron looking pot which was tofu and green onion. Also very good and helped me to warm up. Highly recommend if you're in the shopping area.

Yelp
First time here and unfortunately I will never return. The staff was nice but the food was subpar. I ordered the shrimp papaya salad and pad ke mao noodles. Both were terrible. The shrimp papaya salad seems really off and they added too much fish sauce. The balance between salty, sweet, & sour was no were near. It was just salty and fish sauce taste. Also the shrimp was NOT devain and the poop was visible in sight. That is breaking a golden rule in the culinary arts world and is a crime. The pad ke mao (drunken noodles) noodles was so salty I couldn't even eat it and ask for the dish to be sent back. The waitress ask if I wanted to try something else so I ordered the pad Thai. The pad Thai tasty really strange and was just off. Fast forward when we got home from dinner, our stomachs were hurting from eating here. I cannot recommend this place due to the experience we had. My husband had ordered the basil fried rice and it was super salty too. The cooks must have been in a salty mood because everything was salty!

Hong M.

Yelp
Excellent Thai spot tucked away in Sunset Valley. Clean, fresh atmosphere with easy modern music setting a nice tone. The Tom Yum soup is delightfully warm and tangy. Pad Thai and red curry were on point but the Pad Woonsen was to die for! It was perfectly seasoned and smoky tasking with a good balance of noodles, veggies and meat. I didn't need to top with my usual dose of fish sauce. Friendly staff provided great service. We'll make the trip in from Bastrop for our Thai fix!

Asjia A.

Yelp
Not that good tbh. I would give it a solid 1.5/5 stars. Pick up was easy, the staff was friendly, and the place isn't a dump. But the food? Oh honey it's terrible lol kinda want to go again to give it another try and kinda don't want to risk it. There are better Thai places near.

Jake H.

Yelp
Luv Thai Cuisine filled my Thai craving with the Pad Thai and brussel sprouts as well as the shrimp fried rice. Big portions and great flavor. My order was ready when I arrived, friendly staff.

Jared C.

Yelp
Great Thai food! Went level 4 on the Panang Curry and it was fabulous! I typically skip boring out chicken satay, but a colleague ordered it and it was great! Only suggestion for LUV is to have some type of carbonated beverage- if not beer, a soda or sparkling water. Swing by.

Tracy C.

Yelp
Papaya salad - there was not a lot of papaya and a whole lot of peanuts. And then the rice I ordered with it was half cooked. But it was still edible.

Raquel O.

Yelp
I was really wanting good Thai food near my house. I had always seen this place when shopping in area so I took the plunge. When you walk in the decor and seating chairs and tables are a little over the place but a guy greeted us and grabbed us some water. They have a a good variety in their menu. I ordered the Pad Thai w/chicken, some edamame with a Tai tea. It didn't take too long for food to come out there was only like 3 other tables seated at that time. For me personally the edamame needs seasoning as simple as some salt flakes on top. The Pad Thai was really good and serving is pretty big, one of my biggest issues is when the chicken tastes old and this was fresh. The tai tea didn't disappoint as well. I have already gone back to do takeout and quality was good at takeout as well. Little hidden gem.

Christina H.

Yelp
The Tom Yum Soup had the perfect spicy & sour combination that made this dish addicting. We were super stoked after trying our appetizer. However, once we tried the Pad Kee Mao, our excitement immediately fell flat. The dish was incredibly bland, lacked flavor AND sauce. It literally tasted like they tossed together noodles, sliced beef and tons of Thai chili peppers. I love a good savory spice, but there was nothing to savor. I also ordered the Crab Rangoons, however, nothing worth mentioning as it came in two tiny skinny rolls of cream cheese and scallions with a slight crisp. Service was wonderful though!

Yelp
im not even from here and this shit is amazing!! 10/10 would DEFINITELY eat here again

Yelp
I've had my eyes set on LUV Thai Cuisine for sometime now as I'm constantly trying to find new Thai food. My goal is to find the best pad thai in every city I live in. I finally gave LUV Thai a chance after three years in Austin and their pad Thai did not disappoint. I ordered for pick up and the service was quick. My order was ready in no time. I spent little time inside when I picked up but it seemed like a nice place for a date with quiet ambience and nice decor. I really enjoyed their pad Thai and appreciated them setting some of the toppings on the side. We also ordered some shrimp spring rolls, tom kha gai soup, and pineapple fried rice. The shrimp rolls were great and a good value for the price. I liked the tom kha gai soup but it has a different taste than what I'm used to; it has less of the lime and coconut flavor I've had in other places. The rice it came with was a little too mushy for my taste. We enjoyed the fried rice despite it having a bit of a smokey flavor. All in all, if this review were only for the pad Thai it's be rated higher but as a whole it was a good meal from this Thai restaurant in southwest Austin!

Quin T.

Yelp
I have driven by this place many times and never thought to check them out because they always looked close. Recently, a girlfriend said that she loves Luv Thai, so we stopped in for an order to go. The eggs rolls are lightly fried and vegetarian! We also decided against our usual go to of pad thai and instead chose the pad see ew and pad egg noodles and both dishes were excellent! I really appreciate that they wrap their food in foil as by the time we got home and settled, 15-20 minutes, our food was still piping hot.

Tammy D.

Yelp
The restaurant is super cute. It has really nice decorations along the walls. When I walked in there wasn't anyone up front to seat us and we were told to sit anywhere. 3-4 tables weren't cleaned yet and still had plates of food around. They were cleaned up by the time we left though so I think it was a bit busy due to the lunch rush. They were busy and mildly understaffed due to the holidays but the service was good. The waiter was so kind and did a really good job at checking in often to make sure everything was okay. The food came out really quickly and was fresh. We ordered a chicken pad Thai and it had a nice tamarind (tangy and sweet) flavor to it. The portion was huge and it came with a lot of peanuts and a lime. There wasn't a lot of chicken in the dish but lots of noodles which I prefer but if you want a good ratio or chicken and noodles then I would recommend ordering extra chicken. We also ordered a level 4 spicy for both the num tok and the masaman curry. Both of the dishes came with a bowl of rice and it was a good portion of food.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
My partner and I have been picking up takeout from this place every few Friday nights since 2020. It is flavorful, authentic, and made with care. On Christmas Day, we mistakenly placed an online order, not realizing that they were actually closed. The lovely owner made our food anyway and came and unlocked the door just to give it to us. I was absolutely blown away by this and how they went completely out of their way to give us food when they absolutely didn't have to. We will continue to be regulars here! The pineapple fried rice, rice balls, and pad thai are all incredible.

Danielle K.

Yelp
Our food was perfect! I've never had better drunken noodles in my life. The taste was excellent and sauce very light. The atmosphere was cute, I can't wait to go back.

Leanne S.

Yelp
I love this place! The pad Thai is so good! The service is amazing and they are so welcoming

Lisa K.

Yelp
Decent little spot for some great Thai! Tried the green and red curry. Green curry erred on the spicy side even though we asked for mild

Dawn S.

Yelp
I had never been to this place as it doesn't look like much from the outside and I also just seem to running into the pet store for food and heading home. I have always seen people there and finally today was my turn! I met some friends to shop and we decided to give this place a try. It is very cute inside. We got a little booth which was actually two love seats with a table in between. It's hard to explain but it was very cozy. My friend ordered a Thai tea which looked yummy. I will definitely be back again. Whether to sit inside on the cozy couch and dine or to grab some take-out. My soup LUV DELIGHT was a perfect mix of spicy and savory. I loved it! Check this place out next time you are down south picking up plants at Home Depot or Lowe's. Work up an appetite loading up some mulch and then refuel here. You'll be happy you did!

Jason M.

Yelp
Plenty of flavor. Quite vibe. Clean tables. Could improve on food presentation on some plates, but overall great experience.

Maeve D.

Yelp
Great gluten free options as well as a super cute indoor sitting area. Awesome neighborhood spot.

Emily H.

Yelp
We ordered (tiny) crab rangoons, egg rolls, pot stickers, Panang curry, yellow curry, and pineapple fried rice. I know something is wrong if I say I could have made it better myself. I'd go with the other options in South Austin.

Pippa S.

Yelp
Don't know what happened but the Pad Thai was slumbered with sauce and with hardly any noodle, and the fried rice was super greasy. Won't be going back. Service was nice enough.

Izabel S.

Yelp
We went too this spot because we wanted to dine in on a humid day and it was everything and more! The food was amazing my friend and I couldn't talk because we were to busy eating. We ordered to the crab Rangoon (crisp and full of cheese goodness and lot of crab which is rare there's only two but it was plenty ) Spring rolls which only my friend ate but looked fresh and she loved them. I got the pad Thai with chicken because it's a classic anywhere and very delicious I appreciate the peanuts

Daysi L.

Yelp
This is the best thai i've been to in all of austin. Great portions and soooo good. Pad thai was spicy and pad woon sen even had shiitake mushrooms. Will definitely be going back very soon i need to try their mango rice

Jana B.

Yelp
We were promptly greeted and shown to a table. We ordered egg rolls which for $5.25 for two seemed a bit pricey but they were fine. Hubby ordered pineapple fried rice ($13.45) with pork and really enjoyed it. He took half of it home as it was a generous portion. I had Pad Pak ($12.95) with chicken and enjoyed all of the vegetables in the tasty brown sauce. Have to visit this place again in cooler weather and order some Tom Ka soup that others have raved about.

Jeff G.

Yelp
I met a friend for lunch and he recommended Luv Thai. Located on the corner of a shopping area in the Sunset Valley part of south Austin, easy to find and plenty of parking. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't too crowded. A courteous and friendly staff person welcomed us to a table, we checked out the menu and I chose my old standby, Pad Thai with Tofu. The offered a cup of soup gratis, this time it was a clear broth with tofu. It was tasty and a nice addition to the meal. My Pad Thai was quite delicious and not too oily as It can be sometimes. The portion was a good size, the ingredients seemed fresh and the tofu was lightly fried and very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised at the non-inflated pricing. The dishes were less expensive here than several other Thai restaurants now have in the area, I hope this lasts. All in all a tasty meal in a friendly space at a decent price, that totally works for me. I look forward to a return visit soon.

Kaeleigh S.

Yelp
It's my second time having take-out from here and I have mixed feelings. The food is delicious. We love the pad thai and fried rice and red curry--all super yummy and not too greasy or anything like that. And they can do things gluten free! You also get large portions for the amount which is nice. Two small qualms: twice now, we have found eggshell in the paid thai, attached to the egg. Not tryna be picky but don't think that's an okay thing. Other thing is, it messed up my stomach this second time, so I'm worried it wasn't entirely gluten free as was specified--but I cannot know for certain. I surely feel sick though.

John P.

Yelp
Not sure how this gets positive reviews - perhaps for the atmosphere. Nothing that we ordered was very good :/ much better quality food at other places.

Chad M.

Yelp
Exceptional quality per portion/price. Staff has always been very friendly/quick and even after ordering from them for a few years now I've never had an issue with my food, missing items, etc. I typically drive by another Thai spot that is beloved by most folks to specifically go here because of the overal value.

Sara G.

Yelp
One of my fav Thai places in Austin and no one seems to know about it. Highly recommend!!

Samuel C.

Yelp
Thai comfort food in a room that plays nice piano jazz. Sadly, in a pandemic, no sitting in the room that plays nice piano jazz. We took our dinner home in a stack of styrofoam boxes. But the comfort food was still comfort food. * * * This reviewer has a weakness for fried rice. Thais eat fried rice for dinner all the time. Americans in Thai restaurants never order fried rice. Maybe they think it is too Chinese. Thai fried rice and Chinese fried rice are essentially the same dish. Luv's versions has lots and lots of American vegetables in it (like green pepper). They are cut in huge pieces. There is a lot of soy sauce but it is the mild soy sauce most Asians prefer ... So the dish is baritone but not especially salty. I could eat Luv's fried rice all day and all night for a month. I would take days off for the times I get Luv's sticky rice with mango. This is a standard Thai sweet dish. Luv's sticky rice with mango is a standard issue sticky rice with mango. Which means it is lovely stuff. Sticky rice with mango is served with a coconut milk sauce and the coconut milk sauce is what makes the dish. The dish needs good mangos and Luv's clearly has a source for good mangos. Good mangos, coconut milk sauce and warm comforting sticky rice? It's cozy time. Put on your jammies with bunny feet, Have your dessert and then Mommy will tuck you in. * * * Life is good. ************************************* If you look at the other reviews, you can see Luv is a more controversial place. 2/3 of the reviewers see things the way I do ... and there are a number of 5 star raves. 1/3 of the reviewers are very unhappy. One was very unhappy having ordered the exact same dishes I ordered. What is going on? My guess. a) Some of the reviewers have very definite ideas of what they want to see in their Thai food. Luv's recipes are different. My fried rice was not like the fried rice I get in other establishments. I can't speak for the curries or Pad Thai that also generate controversy. b) When I was there the establishment was very busy. Only one couple was dining in - but there were lots and lots of outside orders. Some of the mistakes referred to could have been a product of haste or short staffing. How would I adjudicate the dispute? 1) Most of the reviews are positive. 2) My food was first rate 3) They generate a solid body of outside orders - so someone seems to be ordering food there a lot. I would guess the place is good, but it is possible to catch them on an off-day.

Chuck D.

Yelp
I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I think I should this time. Luv Thai gave me the worst pad woon sen I can recall. It should be stir fried glass noodles. It was more of a soup with way too much salt, way overcooked vegetables, and tiny short (broken) pea starch glass noodles. This was a to go order that I wish I had inspected before leaving. I went farther than my usual Thai restaurant to try Luv Thai. It will not happen again.

Anita C.

Yelp
I used to come here when it was called IM Thai and I loved it back then. I came back here last weekend and we got drunken noodle and golden noodle. The golden noodle tasted more like Singapore noodle but with thick noodles and too much sauce. The drunken noodle was also too saucy and didn't quite taste like I expected. I should've ordered pad woon sen which is what I used to get at IM Thai. I want to come back and order pad woon sen and compare it that way. All in all, I was disappointed but I would go back one more time and hope for a better experience.

Raegan M.

Yelp
Was not impressed with the atmosphere at first but sat in this cute little couch booth with my boo and it ended up being perfect! The food was so so good. Don't judge by the outside. Something about the logo screamed mainstream but it is a little hidden gem.

Atx F.

Yelp
Shrimp green curry had maybe 5 shrimps, soggy vegetables and was a watery soup consistency. Shrimp pad see ew did not seem fresh, had minimal sauce and soggy noodles. Flavor was "ok", have definitely had better. Quality and price unfortunately do not align and I will not order from here again. :( sorry LUV Thai

Jaime F.

Yelp
The best yellow curry I've ever had!!! Always great service. Can't get enough of this place. They give you the option to add an egg cooked anyway you'd like. It's just so good.

Samson S.

Yelp
Every time we have gone there the food has been excellent. Definitely try their coconut curry soup or their thai cashew and pineapple tofu/chicken dishes. The staff is nice and pretty too. Easily the best Thai restaurant in South Austin. You can get out of there for under $14 a person. We really enjoy their tofu spring rolls and cashew tofu stir fry dishes.

Gabe D.

Yelp
I can't remember the last time I spent only $10 for a full order of chicken Pad Thai. Serving portions are generous, and the free soup was very delicious as well. Would recommend to anyone looking for some cheap, delicious Pad Thai.

Kaylee L.

Yelp
Drunken noodles were so bomb. Request low spice though if you're sensitive. Ours was too spicy and they comped it and brought a new one. Wondering customer service.

Dominique E.

Yelp
Got the yellow curry delivered. Medium hot and it is SO FLAVORFUL! I'm not even finished with it, I just wanted to make sure I made this review. Everyone must try this place!

Brooke C.

Yelp
Delicious food, comfortable space, love local! Even ordering to go is fast and convenient.

Eva H.

Yelp
The food, pork fried rice and beef glass stir-fried noodles, were very good with large portions. The pricing here is very reasonable ($~12 per dish). The restaurant is decent with ample seating, though nothing fancy. Both dishes were up-to-taste and filled us very well, but we did have to wait over 15 mins to receive the food. The service was great except for 1 mishaps when we were served the wrong noodle dish. We ordered stir-fried egg noodles but were served glass noodles. When we mentioned this to our server, he said he mis-clicked the menu item but he sounded as if he knew he misclicked without informing us and we found out? He offered to re-make it but because we were quite hungry, we decided to try the glass noodles anyways. Big tip here: Visually know how your ordered dish look like so you don't end up eating something you didn't order.

Greg G.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service, we ordered to go with some fairly specific requests. They made our order perfectly. I especially appreciated being advised that our request would take a bit longer.

Dave H.

Yelp
So we Decided to try a new Thai restaurant in Sunset Valley. We walked in and were pleasantly greeted. It's a large restaurant with seating for about 30 inside as well as seating on the patio. Monday through Friday they offer free soup as part of your lunch special, give it a try - it's very good. We opted for shrimp spring rolls, chicken satay, and pad Thai noodles. The spring rolls were very fresh and airy, with a very tasty sauce to go along with them. The pad Thai noodles came out nice and hot, with a very nice flavor seasoned well not overly spicy. The chicken satay skewers come out very hot in a Generous portion, accompanied by two dipping sauces. One is peanut, and the other is spicy cucumber vinegar. Both were very good. If you order ice tea, it comes as an endless cup, and they bring a picture of it to your table so you can refill as desired. If you're in Sunset Valley, and looking for a good Thai place, this is a place you don't want to mess. Give it a try.

Nick C.

Yelp
Good portions and plenty of chicken in the Pad Thai. Service was prompt for a busy Friday night.

Kalee G.

Yelp
LUV Thai is the best Thai food in town. We have been coming here for years, and so glad they made it through the pandemic. Favorite dishes: Yum Nua, Thai fried rice, curry, Tom yum soup. Do yourself a favor and get on over to LUV Thai.

Sandra W.

Yelp
Very fast and friendly service. Love the takeout and the dine-in. I've been all the Thai restaurants in Austin... And this one definitely matches up to them. Centrally located in Sunset Valley. My favorite is pad see ew chicken and red Thai coconut curry. You'll love it!
