Great location, stylish room – with a few quirks.
I recently stayed at Lux 11 and overall had a great experience. The location is excellent — right near Alexanderplatz on a beautiful, lively street. The Superior Room offered a nice balance of style and comfort, with some great amenities: a small kitchen area (fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine) and a spacious balcony that felt really atmospheric, especially in the evenings.
The bed was very comfortable with quality bedding, and the room was well-insulated from outside noise, which made for a restful sleep. I also appreciated the high ceilings, solid climate control, and fast internet connection. There are plenty of power outlets (a small but very welcome detail), and the hotel has a laundry room (with 2 types of washing detergent pods) where you can wash and iron your clothes — very practical for longer stays. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit.
That said, a few things struck me as a bit odd. The shower area isn't enclosed, so there's very little privacy if you're sharing the room. The toilet is positioned right behind the headboard, which might not be to everyone's taste. Kitchen equipment was limited: some cutlery was missing and there were no pans to cook with. The lighting system was a bit overcomplicated, and while the TV was a smart model, it lacked Chromecast or easy streaming options. Also worth noting: there are no actual wardrobes, which makes unpacking tricky. Lastly, the courtyard bar sometimes hosts parties, so you might hear music from there in the evenings.
Despite these quirks, I’d definitely consider staying again. It’s a stylish place with a fantastic location and thoughtful touches — just be aware of its more unconventional design choices.
