LUZ Culinary Wine Lodge

10/10, an incredible place. Not only is the property absolutely gorgeous, but the staff is also very attentive and caring, the food experiences are DELICIOUS, and the pool and tennis court are a great plus! We did the NUR beef omakase and it was one of our favorite food experiences ever. Intimate dinner with wonderful flavors and just great vibes. Luz also arranged a picnic for us and gave us a huge basket of food for us to bring anywhere on the property. What an incredible stay, highly recommend.

A delightful little lodge, the rooms and dining tables round a courtyard. Our room was quite simple but charming (a coffee machine would have been welcome) with a sunny little patio heady with the scent of jasmine round the wall. As the dining tables are semi outside it was quite cold the first evening and they lit outdoor heaters and provided soft ponchos. Our second evening was much milder. There is another dining area by the swimming pool which is a short walk through a pine tree copse and we ate lunch there one day. The food is tapas style and very good, we enjoyed everything we ate. Not the enormous off putting helping sizes we experienced pretty much everywhere else in Uruguay either! We also enjoyed their own wine.

Really beautiful wind lodge outside Jose Ignacio. We had a lovely one night stay. We especially loved the beef omakase culinary experience. The property is beautifully designed.

A "sanctuary for the soul"; a secret, architecturally amazing boutique inn, not far from the glitz and glamour of Jose Ignacio, but hidden in the middle of a private pine forest, on the edge of their own vineyard and olive grove. I first came to Luz several years ago, for its peaceful location and its spectacular architecture. But the exquisite location and stunning design is not the best part of Luz. Nor is the fabulous organic food, the "mile long" WARM infinity pool, the private yoga classes, the healing massage appointments, or the simple but soothing characteristics of their beautiful rooms. The HEART of Luz, is its people - staff who are exquisitely kind, caring, personable, and professional - people for whom every client is a treasured guest. A truly beautiful inn, with a team of truly beautiful people. Thank you Luz for another great visit!

Incredible place to disconnect,a hidden jem in Jose Ignacio. It has everything for the most luxurious stay. Infinity pool with the view to the wineyard and olive plantation, tennis court,amazing design of the hotel. The atmosphere of the pine tree forest makes it magical and very romantic for dinner. In the morning there are yoga classes.Breakfast is delicious and abundant,with natural local products. We were delighted by the attention of the staff! Definitely coming back to this exclusive and intimate place. Muchas gracias!

Beautifully minimalist, carefully curated and welcoming, it's been a pleasure to stay at Luz over the last couple of days. The team are polite, friendly and (surprisingly rare for places of this standard!) completely human, inquisitive and open. The location is great, far enough away from the crowds of Jose Ignacio but close enough to not be an inconvenience. Fixtures, fittings and facilities are well thought out and the pool is truly something else. Watching the sun set over the countryside with a glass of their own wine is an experience neither of us will forget...

Everything about this place is phenomenal. Highlight of our trip to Uruguay. - incredible, friendly and knowledgable staff - stunning surroundings - probably one of the best breakfasts I have had in any hotel or lodge in my life - amazing sunset dining experience - beautiful rooms and design with the comfiest beds - gorgeous surroundings - vineyards, forest, pool, tennis courts - what else could you want? I’d return in a heartbeat
