Yelp
I came to LV Mar for a work dinner way back in May, and I was pretty excited based on the Yelp reviews.
We ordered items to share:
- GUACAMOLÉ CON PEPITAS (ripe avocados, chile serrano, onions, cilantro, toasted pepitas, cucumber, tortilla chips)
- ENSALADA DE LECHUGA Y ELOTE (organic butter lettuce, corn, cotija cheese, chile ancho dust, serrano chile vinaigrette)
- CEVICHE MIXTO (lime cured octopus, scallops, mixto halibut, orange, red onion, habanero chile, sweet plantain)
- ATUN CON PERA (fresh ahi tuna, pear, avocado, crispy plantain, chimichurri sauce)
- PESCADO FRITO TACO (beer-battered white fish fillet, pico de gallo, cabbage, chipotle cream sauce, lime)
- CARNE ASADA TACO (grilled sliced steak, salsa roja, nopal & black beans pico de gallo, cotija cheese)
And to drink, I had a ginger lemonade.
It's been a few months since I ate this dinner, and I don't remember anything being amazingly good.
But even months later, I do remember a few things being bad:
- The ahi and pear combo was awful
- The ginger overpowered the lemonade
- The menus were only via QR code (no physical menus), and most of us didn't have any reception in the back room
Luckily there are other interesting restaurants in the area, so this gives me an excuse to try them!
