This place is the only winery I am a member at because it is some of the best wine I've ever had. Yes, it's a little pricey but sooo worth it. The hospitality in the tasting room is unmatched and you have to try the spice pairing with the tasting, very unique flavor experience.

My wife and I stopped in at the tasting room on July 2, 2024 and we were the only ones there. This was the first time we had a tasting with what I’d call spiced cheeses. They serve cheese with various spices sprinkled over them and paired with their wines. This was a nice experience and unique compared to the other tastings we had done in Paso Robles. The lady working that day was friendly and nice and did a great job answering our questions. I recommend this place for a different tasting experience.

We recently enjoyed a special wine and spice pairing at the LXV vineyard. This may rate as one of our top winery experiences of all time! The wines are so lovely by themselves, but what an elevated experience when you pair them with a custom blend of spices. Our server was excellent, and Kunal gave us a short vineyard tour before we began our tasting experience. We hope to bring a bit of LXV to Indiana for some of our local friends to enjoy through the wine club shipments (that’s right, we were so impressed that we joined the club!). Special thanks to Kunal and Neeta for making us feel so welcome at your vineyard. We will be back!

Google
Wines we're good, cheese was good and they were good together. I liked the vibe but we were off to the side of the building. Did not love that the host sat with us the entire time. She was very pleasent and gave good recommendations for the area. Wines we're expensive too.

Wine novices, enthusiasts, oenophiles alike go check out LXV Wine in downtown Paso. You will not regret it. Dont mistake the simple and unassuming tasting room for just another tasting room. Our experience was truly lovely. First rather than a typical tasting room where the goal is to simply tell you more about the wines they offer and or sell, LXV takes a journey with you. Notice I said with you rather than take you on a journey. There is a difference. The experience seamlessly meandered through various regions, stories, life experiences of the founders, the host, ourselves, and of course the characteristics of the wine itself adapting in the spur of the moment. Second there was a spectacular and ‘unlikely pairing’ of spices. I say unlikely because most folks refute the ability to successfully pair spices with red wines. Not the case at LXV and I love that they affirm our long held belief that a wine spice pairing is an absolute joy if done right. They embrace it full on and in fact it’s clear that they have spent years developing the match. And the pairings are a match made in heaven. The true depth and passion to bridge between a simple tasting and the little pieces of Tuscany, Bolgheri, Bordeaux that they have brought to the wizardly and no rules attitude of the CA central coast (read maverick winemakers) results in pure magic from the simple yet elegant Sangiovese ‘Jewel’ to the mouthwatering Cab Franc. Check it out. Say Hi to Matt (our outstanding host) who never let us feel like we had a limited booked time at our tasting. Then, sit back and enjoy. Thank me later. Cheers!!

Google
We decided to explore this location in an overnight trip and I am so glad we did. It was an amazing experience. The location was beautiful and tasteful. We went in for a tasting and got the cheese pairing as well. I HIGHLY recommend getting the paired cheeses. The woman who served us, Rene, was extremely knowledgeable about the wine, growing conditions, and the process of each wine. She was a pleasure to talk with and helped make the experience even more amazing overall. The cheese that was paired with the wine was coated with a combination of spices prepared in house. They were delicious and could also be bought on their own. It was a unique experience and well worth the visit. I certainly plan to go back again.

Google
LXV has exceptional wines! We belong to both clubs , regular club and Meso. The owners are beautiful people. The spices are amazing. All the staff are great! We can’t say enough about this winery. Thank you !

Google
had an amazing eye opening experience guided by John ! the spice pairing was unlike anything I had expected to happen in Paso. the tasting room location was conveniently located in downtown which was a nice change from driving into the countryside. the vibe was a mix of South Asian, French and SoCal . no one visiting the region should miss this one.

Yelp
What a delightful surprise. I had heard only wonderful things about LXV and was eager to try their wines. The tasting room is very low key and you might walk right by it if not looking for it. But don't let that deter you. Enter this small tasting room just off the town square and your life will never be the same. Our host, Garrett, was incredibly knowledgeable-- a high level sommelier who was welcoming and not intimidating. We did the spice pairing which is ESSENTIAL to your experience. If you love food and wine you will appreciate this. It sounds a bit odd, but the spices in the pairing are subtle and are perfectly matched to each wine. For each wine a mild cheese is coated in spices and served with the wine. As a sommelier myself, I was impressed and that doesn't happen often. I have tasted wines all over the world and can assure you that LXV has a great product and a wonderful experience to showcase it. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
This was our first wine tasting in Paso Robles. You can smell the spices as soon as you walk in the door. The tasting room is well decorated and the service was incredible. One of the owners was there checking in on all the tables so it was nice that she made that connection. The spice pairing really elevated this tasting, but the wines on their own weren't our favorites. The tasting is definitely a unique experience and worth trying if you have never been. It was a fun way to kick off our wine tasting in Paso Robles.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in downtown Paso Robles. Located in a small strip mall next to a spice shop and bakery and coffee kiosk. This small tasting room specializes in wine and spice pairings. The husband is the winemaker and his wife imports the spices and cheeses for the wine and spice pairings. A great place to go for wine tasting in downtown Paso Robles.

Yelp
XLV is an exquisite wine tasting room in downtown Paso. Owners, Neeta & Kunal, source their Bordeaux and Sangiovese grapes from their Armaa N. Estate in Willow Creek. All the wines I've tried here have been rich, silky and complex. What makes XLV unique is their spice pairings. They offer various mixes of herbs and spices on top of soft sheep's milk cheese that complement each wine so beautifully. Anise, basil, cardamom, cloves, fennel, lavender, marjoram, oregano, peppers, thyme, and more! The spices are sold here and go well with so many meat and veggies. The labels on their bottles are pieces of art, making lovely gifts as well. The staff are very knowledgeable and so dog friendly too. Reservations are preferred, but you may get lucky by simply walking in.

Yelp
This is quickly becoming a must-visit spot every time we're in town! The wines are always delicious and the spice/cheese pairing is so unique. We were the only tasting inside at the time and the host was fantastic! I wish I could remember his name but he was super informed on the wines & had great recommendations on other spots to hit around town. Very tempted to become members...maybe next time!

Yelp
Venue, quality, and experience - LXV has them all. We stopped by the tasting room without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky enough to be able to experience a tasting here. We sat outside on their patio which, despite being next to the main road and parking lot, was designed to feel secluded and was shaded from the sun. Our dog was able to join us for the experience, which was a plus as well. While we didn't go inside, we did see other dog owners take their four-legged companions inside the main tasting room so it looks like the entire venue may be dog friendly. The wine flight cost $30 for four pours which felt reasonable and provided a good overview of the wines LXV offers. Each wine was objectively good and the staff provided good details about each wine including stories behind why a specific wine was made. The experience was elevated by the flavor pairings, which at $15 provided four bites of cheese per wine covered in a complimentary blend of spices. This was an experience I've never had anywhere else and for this alone I feel a visit to LXV is worth while. For those who have dairy sensitives or just don't like cheese, popcorn is provided instead which did highlight the spices better but felt like less value than the cheese.

Yelp
I was in Paso for work and drove by this tasting room. I have heard good reviews and so I went to see if I god get a tasting. I was welcomed in this nice tasting room by Melanie and was introduced to Nick. Nice explained each of the 4 wines in the tasing and we discussed each wine. Nick was very knowledgeable about the wine. I enjoyed the conversation as much as the wine. I am planning to go back and do the wine and spice tasting.

Yelp
The spice pairing is so unique and absolutely wonderful! Would recommend sharing one between two people and buying some to-go! When we came here we were greeted immediately by our sommelier who sat us down early. Our places were set up with beautiful greeting cards from the owners Neeta and Kunal. Before each pour our sommelier explained to us more about the history of each wine and why each grape was chosen and how/why it paired well with the spice. The wines we tried here were all reds and they were all absolutely phenomenal. The spices were also amazing and my favorite was the Garam chai with rose petals. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in Paso and want a more intimate experience.

Yelp
We have always wanted to stop here for a wine tasting. So today we did. And we weren't disappointed! Garret did a great job with service and really knew the wines. We bought 4 bottles and will be back.

Yelp
After a week of tasting in Napa Valley and Sonoma, we met friends in Paso Robles, our first visit. Having read good reviews of LXV's tasting experience, we booked a visit. We were fortunate to be invited to "The Ranch" because of the size of our group. Our group of nine was hosted in the barn, with a beautiful view of the vineyards, and occasional visits by the winery's three dogs. We requested the flavor pairings with our tasting, so each wine was presented with a unique spice blend served on a neutral local cheese. Our host explained the nuances and subtleties of each wine and how it fit with the paired spices, Every wine we tasted was superb, and the flavor pairings enhanced the experience. Two of us joined their wine club on the spot. We are now looking forward to the next club allotment and the wine pickup event.

Yelp
This is a great tasting room that offers wine tasting or pairing with spices. It's a unique experience you can participate in Paso without the drive like other vineyards. I think their vineyard is open on Saturday only. Renae did a great job with our tasting. The wines were all good but overpriced compared to others we tried this week. Most are $85/bottle when you can get many reserve wines in Paso Robles for $55-$70 (and many cheaper than this). It made me think I was back in Napa being overcharged. Pours were on the smaller side as well.

Yelp
GET THE SPICE PAIRING. I repeat, GET THE SPICE PAIRING. We arrived all decked out for our friend's bachelorette weekend and we were warmly greeted by Nick, who was a charming and enthusiastic host. We had such a great time and were living in the moment that the attached photo is sadly the only one I took during our experience. Boo on me, but yay for the overall experience. The Experience: With the wine & spice tasting you get four wines, one white and three reds. Surprisingly our party agreed that the white was our favorite even though we're a buncha' red enthusiasts. What makes this experience special is the cheese cubes coated in unique spice blends that perfectly work with each of the wines we tried. No need to get into it more, the pairings speak for themselves and ya just gotta try it. I ended up taking home a bottle of The Jewel (a Sangiovese blend). The Staff: I already went into how much we looooved Nick, but it would be unfair to leave out the owners, Neeta and Kunal. Their winemaking is rooted in their Indian traditions where flavors from around the world are brought to the table. And fun fact: Neeta is one of the first Indian women to own a winery in the US that was then named one of the top 10 tasting experiences in America. TLDR: support this small women-owned, culturally rooted biz. And get the dang spice pairing.

Yelp
Found this neighborhood gem tasting room. First time here and will definitely return! Neeta and Garrett were very thorough when explaining each tasting. I highly recommend you select the cheese pairing along with your vino flight...delicious! Cheers JXV

Yelp
Had the opportunity to be part of XLV's wine tasting in Long Beach over the weekend. It was held in this beautiful craftsman style home with a small group which facilitated an opportunity for deeper learning about the winery and the wines as well as great conversation! The wines are new ones for LXV and they are terrific! We bought some and will be signing up for their wine club!
google avatar

Yelp
Garret was amazing and we enjoyed all the pairings. We took three bottles and will return again soon!

Yelp
This is my first time in Paso Robles. I've been to Napa, Sonoma, Santa Ynez, and Temecula. But out of all the places I've been wine tasting in California , this tasting room may just be the best. It's financially reasonable, fun, convenient, and comfortable!

Yelp
There may be endless options in Paso, but LXV is an absolute must! The spice pairing is so unique and so delicious! Located in downtown Paso, LXV is such a special tasting experience. The tasting included four wines: one white and three reds. We added on the spice pairing. It included the same type of cheese but coated in four different homemade spice blends. The blends were perfectly curated to enhance each of the wines. First, we sipped the wine by itself. But then, we drank with the spice blended cheese. It was amazing how different the wine tasted with the cheese. It was soo delicious! We ended up purchasing a packet of one of the spice blends to take home. They share recommended recipes on their website. This was a truly unique experience that I would highly recommend doing! Make a reservation to ensure a spot and enjoy!

Yelp
This is a unique winery with beautiful Bordeaux's. They also use a white cheese with Indian spices to pair. So interesting.

Yelp
Just wandering around town with our cousin and decided to stop here for a quick tasting. He's a wine blogger and my wife and I are just wine drinkers. In 32 years we've never joined any wine club and have visited many from various areas Matt the host was excellent and after going I looked at the reviews (yeah I know). Get the cheese pairings The 4 newest members of "65"

Yelp
This was our first stop! We didn't make reservations but we didn't need it since we got there Friday early afternoon. We did wine tasting ($20) and here is my overall: place was cute(we sat outside), wine was ok, small pours, staff (Madeline) was amazing! She let us revisit our favorite wine. Mine was the Temple and my husbands was the Reserve Syrah. Madeline told us they have an actual vineyard so we will go there on our next visit to Paso!

Yelp
Best wine! You will find something for all to enjoy. Service is always special. They serve awesome cheeses with their homemade spices! It's so good! The ambience is very nice and the owners are truly amazing! You can't miss this wine!

Yelp
If you're planning a trip to Paso Robles, be sure to reserve a spot at the LXV Downtown Tasting Room. The experience is truly memorable. Our host, John, was down-to-earth, fun, and entertaining and was very well versed in all of the wines he poured. We learned more about wine in an hour or so than we had in a lifetime. The spiced cheese pairings and all of the wines were delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here yesterday with my family for a quick wine tasting experience unexpectedly getting one of my most memorable one. They were almost closing when we came by, Nick, Our host Sommelier, ended up staying late after mentioning that we were just passing by for my Birthday weekend. He offered a private room for my family. We got the wine and cheese pairing which did not disappoint! Nick made my day even more special by offering me an extra "birthday pour" and some gifts to go! He explained each wine perfectly (being a wine lover myself) Now that I'm done telling how awesome Nick was, let me tell you about their wine! I've had one of the best Sangiovese wine in Tuscany and LXV Sangiovese ties up to that level now in my palate. I bought the reserved 2019 and their petit Syrah wine but all 5 wines that We had were all very good! It wasn't acidic at all and every sip provided that well distinct note and finish. I'm thinking of checking them out again in the near future and getting my membership. I have been to so many local wine tasting place and so far, this one (and of course Tuscany ) delivered the best wine and created the best experience for me. Thank You again, Nick.

Jagjeet B.

Yelp
Outstanding wines and great hospitality. We were invited to their vineyard for tasting. Kunal and Neeta were very gracious and offered us a wide range of their wines. We loved all of them and ordered a whole bunch for the upcoming holidays. Their tasting room in Paso is very inviting as well. One of the best experiences ever.

Yelp
It was very interesting to pair the wines with these cheeses since I would never think about coming up with these flavors! It was a great experience
google avatar

Yelp
The most unique wine tasting! I absolutely love the spice pairing with each wine. It genuinely enhances the wine and gives it a unique experience. Great spot for anyone who likes to cook and would want to find a wine and spice pairing
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing experience!!! Do try the cheese pairing . It was so delish! The sommeliers are so sweet here. They are incredibly knowledgeable and they take their time to explain everything. You'll really enjoy the ambiance, cheeses and wine here.

Neetu G.

Yelp
Wine and wait staff was awful, he kept taking about himself the whole time. Never again!
google avatar

Yelp
We came up last weekend and had a tasting in the downtown tasting room; it was delightful. I had not been there yet, only the vineyard, and it was just an extension of their home. Garret was helping us through our spice paring and he was knowledgeable and educational and made us feel like VIP's. If you haven't tried them; you should! You will not be disappointed.

Edward K.

Yelp
Great wine, great people and a fun take on wine tasting. What more can you ask for? Owners were incredibly passionate and it definitely shows in their wines

Yelp
Tasting experiences at either the homeplace shed or the downtown location are well worth the time. Servers here are professional, knowledgeable and keen to share information about the wines, the makers, the owners, the vineyard and the process. LXV is extra special in that not only are their wines delicious, but they serve them uniquely with a spice pairing. Four tastes matched with four spice blends designed around each new creation every new vintage. The owners, Neeta and Kunal Mittal, are welcoming, passionate wine people who are fun to meet. I appreciate their energy and their unique creations.

Patty H.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the wine and spice pairing. Each of the wines we sampled was delicious and thoughtfully paired with a spice blend. We also appreciated the intimate tasting experience compared to many crowded wineries. We received individual attention the entire tasting and a full explanation of the wines and pairing notes. To top it off, my dog was welcome!

Kevin E.

Yelp
Had a second bad experience and I deleted my first review since the owner messaged me and I felt bad. Our first time, we were literally asked to leave since they didn't have enough tables and they over booked their appointments. The second time (and last time) they mentioned they would accommodate us even though they were "sold out." However, when we got there there was only one party there but the staff asked us to leave and come back in an hour since they can only have two parties to one waiter. Then the other waiter came and said they don't want to accommodate since we were too drunk. We were completely sober and this was our second wine tasting. So unpleasant and the owner reached out to me to make it work but I will never be coming back and I don't recommend this place what-so-ever. We chose your winery over another and the fact that you told us you were booked when you weren't is absolutely disgusting. This happened last time to another party in front of our eyes as well. So many wineries to choose from, look elsewhere

Yelp
We had the pleasure of tasting at the LXV vineyard and sitting under a beautiful oak tree. We were greeted by 2 dogs (golden retrievers) and the owner (Kunal) came by to say hi, (we shared our Piedmont truffle hunt stories). Our wine tasting server was super friendly and knowledgeable on the wines as well as spices. Of the 4 tastings we did in Paso Robles, this was by far the most expensive (prepaid tasting, spice pairing extra, no discount on purchase of bottles, bottles were $60-90 range). This probably makes sense given all the press LXV had received. Tip- they are constructing more tasting space and a pizza oven on the vineyard, so there will probably be more opportunities to reserve a spot there in the future. Favorite wines were the Tempo (although that spice pairing was a bit salty/too much going on for us) and Cabernet Franc. Favorite spice was the Perfume Garden. We left with a bottle of Cab Franc and a Nebbiolo (wildcard as we weren't able to taste it, we want to to see how it compares to other Nebbiolo wines we've had from California).

Matthew M.

Yelp
Matt has exceptional customer service and is extremely knowledgeable on the wines at LXV. I would 100% recommend trying to get a tasting there because of how they present and pair each of their tastings. I would absolutely go back! The tasting room is extremely beautiful and has a great ambiance to it as well!

Yelp
We had reservations to do outdoor tasting for Sunday at 2pm. They have 2 outdoor tables only. Wasn't sure if there's indoor seating but they have like a private room area. Their wines consists of Italian/Bordeaux. Owned by Indian owners. $25 tasting fee for 4 wines plus flavor spice cheese pairing $15. So it's $40 for both tastings. We only liked The Tempo (Bordeaux blend of Merlot/Cab Franc). We got an extra comp pour of Blanc de Sangiovese since it was already open. Their wine didn't exactly fit our palate but the lady was nice and knowledgable. We also realized that we should've just ordered 2 cheese tastings instead of 4 for the 4 of us. It's way too much cheese. It's enough if we have 2 pieces of each cheese already. The spice cheese tasting is interesting/unique but not our thing. They use the same sheep's milk cheese but added spices to it. It was cool to try once.

Yelp
This review is for the opportunity to taste out at the vineyards... having never been to the tasting room... but 5 stars without question. Communication with the owners to make the appointment was friendly and prompt, and due to being a slower "Covid" weekend, we were given the opportunity to move our tasting to the vineyard instead of downtown. Got here and arrived to a beautiful expansive view of the vineyards and welcomed into a small vine covered barn. Anna was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and helped create a great tasting experience, spice pairings included. Tasting included a Nebbiolo, Cab/Verdot/Franc, Merlot/Franc, and Cab Franc... all of which were smooth on the palate and just left you wanting more. If my bank account was in agreement, I would have taken a bottle of each! (Plus the spices!) I went home with a bottle of the Reserve Cab Franc and Perfume Garden spice. The tasting fee is $20 regularly and add $10 for the spice pairing (worth it!) I can't imagine the tasting room being any less great based on staff. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Janna L.

Yelp
Great service outside for a shared tasting. The woman helping us was willing to help us with anything we needed 'Paso'. We had 1 tasting with the spice pairing. Meaning spices of their choice that they feel will compliment the wine, on small bits of cheese. I recommend doing this and I do not even like cheese! We had a nice big table outside for 5 of us and a dog. I liked the location a lot and was glad we came across this place as a total accident.

Bobbi H.

Yelp
Our recent visit was a delightful and unique experience with spices and wine pairings.

Yelp
Great selection of wines, knowledgable staff. We've been here a couple of times and are never disappointed.

Yelp
This our second visit. We absolutely love the service and enthusiasm behind every explanation. Nick was so kind, knowledgeable and friendly. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Had an amazing wine and spice tasting experience at LXV!!! We sampled four amazing wines, paired with spiced cheeses and learned all about tannins and acidity (plus my suspicions on why Cabernet Sauvignon are not my favored pour were more than justified by our learned guide from John Hancock College). Fantastic time all around and we may have brought home a bottle or four. Also got to meet Neeta!
google avatar

Mercedes H.

Yelp
Melanie was our server and she was amazing! Great information and energy! Our tasting was 4 wines and we paid additional for cheese pairing. Everyone that works here greeted us when they saw us, even though they were not our assigned staff; that makes a huge difference in recommending a place and returning! Great experience!! I would return!

Yelp
Saw all the 5-star reviews and had to give it a try. Amazing wine, wonderful, generous, friendly service, and a unique and eye-opening tasting experience in a lovely setting. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS! Go check them out! Buy much wine. Ask for Nick because he is an Angel.

Yelp
I love this minority and immigrant owned winery, which is why I became a member. The armaa winery location is my favorite, with its beautiful and intimate barn house with an Indian flair. The wines are unique, smooth and all organic. Worth the price!

Yelp
LXV is a must for any person looking for a good wine tasting experience in Paso. Neeta originally messaged me a day or so before my reservation recently and asked if I would be ok with tasting at the ranch, and I'm so happy that I did. When we got there we had to wait for a electronic gate to let us in. When it opened we were greeted by a friendly doggy that lived on the property. There were multiple dogs there but all were trained and super friendly. It was also quite a treat because right where we did our tasting, we had an amazing view of the vineyard in the distance. All their wines were great and I really think it boils down to your taste. I personally liked the Jewel the most with its complexity but you really do have to try doing the spice pairing with all the wines to get the true experience. Everyone here is extremely knowledgeable about the wines served and do an amazing job explaining how the profiles of the wines change with the associated spice. I liked the Jewel because the spices reminded me of flavors in Ramen so I definitely bought a bottle for a Ramen night and was super satisfied! If you aren't a native to the Bay Area you are trying to Wine Taste, I do feel like people try to gravitate towards the more well known wineries in Napa. What people don't realize is that there are so many other amazing areas for wines too. Different areas can change the flavor profiles of the same type of wine so it's fun to visit other areas like Paso which has so many wineries to try out. But definitely don't skip out on LXV. They really were the whole package. That and friendly doggies always icing on the cake when you are sipping on nice wine!

Yelp
I was visiting Paso Robles and decided to stop by LXV after reading all the reviews on yelp. LXV popped on several "must try" wineries in Paso as well. We were recommended LXV by several locals as well. I had extremely high expectations and LXV did not disappoint. Nicole was our server and was extremely helpful. We did the wine and spice flight for $25. Nicole went into details about every single wine and cheese pairing we tried. She even gave us recommendations for food and local must tries. The wine was very good. We liked all the wines on the tasting list. I rarely don't typically like white wines and I was pleasantly surprised by the 2018 Summer Satine. My favorite was the 2017 Crimson Jewel. A definite must try! I will definitely try to stop by if I am ever back in Paso Robles.

Love LXV!!! The owners are extremely sweet and our wine educator was amazing, I'm sorry I forgot his name(you work at Boyd's as well). I love how they do a unique wine pairing with spices on little cheese bites! So amazing and just pairs perfectly with the wines! Will definitely come back!
