Lydia’s Kitchen & Market is such a hidden gem! The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Everything we tried was delicious, and you can really taste the homemade touch. I loved the orange juice and the ceaser salad. The market side is well stocked with unique items you don’t easily find elsewhere. On top of that, the staff is friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Highly recommend stopping by for both great food and a wonderful overall experience!

We like this place very much. The services is friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food is great and very reasonably priced for the quality. Berdena’s is in their family of restaurants, so the coffee is very good. The free parking in the back is limited as the indoor and outdoor seating, so go early. the little market is cute.

This place is an absolute gem! The decor is the absolute best vibe, and the food is so delicious! My favorite dish is the lemon ricotta pancakes, but everything I have had I have loved. I love all the shops around it as well. Amazing brunch vibes!

Lydia’s is exactly what Phoenix needed—a charming, elevated brunch spot that feels like you’ve stumbled into a hidden gem in a European city. We came with our two kids and loved every bite. The attention to detail is unmatched—from the beautifully curated menu to the warm service and thoughtful design. You can tell a lot of love went into creating this space. Must-orders: the lemon ricotta pancakes (so fluffy and bright!) and the smoked salmon dish—both were absolutely fabulous. There was a wait when we arrived, but we loved browsing the shops at The Fred while we waited. Honestly, don’t be in a rush—it’s well worth the wait. This place is going to be a treasured go-to very quickly. Highly recommend getting there early—and hungry!

This is a nice spot, it’s got a good vibe and everyone was super friendly. Service was excellent. The food was very good, it was tasty and Very would definitely return again. If I had any complaints it would be the noise level, it’s a small place and voices really carry which resulted in a loud dining area. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it was noticeable.

Came for happy hour and loved the cocktails and shareable dinner plates I had with some girlfriends. It was moody and a vibe with a fabulous playlist. Our waiter Xander also was so nice and attentive, will be back for sure!

Went out with my friends for brunch & their service was very friendly! The kitchen is located in a plaza with a cute atmosphere, loved their strawberry matcha! It was a little loud, but I'd come again :)

This has definitely turned into one of my favorite breakfast places. The sweet potato pancakes, french toast, ouefs en cocotte are our favorites! The location is nice and there is a cute gift shop as well. Service has been great both visits and the waitstaff has been very friendly. Definitely a great casual brunch place

Came here after a Pilates class with a friend to catch up and so glad we chose this place! We made a reservation for noon which might not have been necessary on any other day, but with the rain and patio unable to be used, it definitely was helpful in getting us seated quickly. On a cool fall/winter day, the outside would definitely be the way to go! The service was great! The waiters were attentive and also gave us time to eat and talk. We never felt rushed or like we were forgotten. As for the food... please get the sweet potato pancakes while they are in season!!! It was so good! I was torn between getting something sweet or savory. Luckily for me, my friend is also a Yelper and was down to get one of each and share. The oeufs... delicious! If you're very hungry, not sure if the portion size would fill you. But to share, and with the pancakes being quite large, ordering these two to share was perfect! Will definitely be here again before those pancakes are gone!

Finally had a chance to come here and it did not disappoint!!! The ambiance of Lydia's is a DREAM!! Totally picturesque with the adorable aesthetics and marketplace! The bar top is stunning I adore the vibes in here! Service was great I believe our waitress name was Julianne she was kind and efficient! I loved my iced cardamom rose latte they have an awesome coffee selection! My chicken sandwhich was good BUT the breaded part fell off the chicken completely which was a bummer :/ otherwise the taste was good! I hope they bring back the girl lunch/dinner concept!! food: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 !!!

Step into a little slice of France right here in town! This charming spot radiates French café vibes, with cozy seating, beautiful décor, and a delightful little market at the entrance perfect for browsing while you wait for your table. Parking is convenient in the back, though fair warning, it shares space with neighboring businesses, so weekends can get a bit busy (but the other shops are 100% worth a peek too! You can get cookies, or coffee, or browse through unique clothing stores before/after your meal.) Food was delicious. I'm a vegetarian, and they kindly swapped avocado in for meat, such a thoughtful touch. Paired my breakfast with a cup of ginger-mint tea that was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive, making the experience all the more enjoyable. My only quibble was that noise can pick up a bit, which I guess is the price you pay for the lively energy of a popular weekend spot. Prices are not cheap, but honestly, nothing outrageous for the quality and experience you're getting!

I've been waiting for Lydia's to open since they first announced it was being built!! I went with a few girlfriends for brunch and was blown away by how nicely designed it was! Lydia fit right in to the vibe of the Fred. We were told it was a 40 minute wait, but it turned out to be nearly 2 hours. Not too bad though, considering Berdena's Coffee was around the corner and some of our favorite shops. The storefront had an amazing curation of home goods, too! It was very much mine and my friends' style. Food was delish! We ordered two rosemary fries for the table. (It's a small portion for 1-2 people). I had the Oefs en cocotte. It's a soupy dip wirh some sourdough toast. Not much toast but I drank the rest of the soup!

Was really excited for this place to open! It couldn't be any cuter, I love the concept of the little market/store at the front with a to go bakery. And an adorable restaurant in the back! Truly not a detail was missed when in come to the decor, light fixtures, fabrics, patterns. Whoever designed it did a phenomenal job! I am excited to see how the patio livens up the Fred once it isn't so hot out!! All that being said the service and the food didn't really blow me away. We had to ask for things like straws, silverware, an extra plate multiple times before receiving and it wasn't super busy only a few other tables on a Friday afternoon. And the food was okay, we split the chicken sandwich and it tasted really fresh! No weird chicken bites which I'm always thankful for. But everything was just a little off -- the fries had rosemary but almost too much. Anyways I know they're new and maybe just have a few links to work out! So I'll be excited to try again in a couple months!

This is still a very new restaurant but it's a cute location and concept. Came here on a Friday evening with some friends and we were basically the only ones there. They have a little store with food items and things you can buy and then the sit down restaurant. I think they are more known for breakfast / brunch because they have only a few items available for dinner like sliders, a salad, pasta, and fries. I got the burrata salad, which was nice and simple and also some truffle fries. The truffle fries were super salty almost too salty but they weren't bad. I also got a mocktail but have no clue what the price was because the waiter just showed me the total at the end on their little device so I was unaware of the breakdown. Would definitely like to see more food options here outside of breakfast but it sounds like they're working on it.

Lydia's kitchen is the cutest, newest brunch spot in town! The Fred really does it right and Lydia's is the best, newest addition. Expect a wait, but the food was delicious and fresh. I can't wait to go back and try the lunch options. Don't forget to shop on your way in or out and pick up something amazing from the little store in Lydia's!

This is such a charming dining venue, perfect for a casual lunch or brunch with friends or family. "Simple but elegant" should well describe both the physical establishment and the menu. I've been here for brunch on three occasions with friends and have tried their seasonal scramble, yeast raised waffle, and oeufs en cocotte - all excellent, especially when paired with different coffee preparations each time. The service is very friendly and efficient, and prices are good especially considering the quality of the food and the overall pleasant dining experience.

Came here to have a bday brunch with a girlfriend and so glad we checked it out. They are slammed on Sundays so get here before noon unless you wanna wait. It's got great lighting and these cute pastel green colors through. Our server was so sweet and gave us her fav coffee, a vanilla Carmel latte, I got macadamia nut milk. The oeuf en cocotte was delicious and creamy. The yolk was still jammy instead and I'm obsessed. My friend got the waffle and said it was perfectly cooked. They have a girls special with a Caesar salad and wine we wanna come back to check out. There are so cute local shops in this plaza. I can't sit to come back.

Very adorable addition to The Fred. I love Wicker Goddess and Berdena's in here so I was excited to see a cool new spot! There's a little market right when you walk in and then to the right is the restaurant where you can dine in. We got there right when they opened at 8 am and were the first dine in customers. The part that wasn't good was that there were other customers who came in after us, got their food and finished eating and left before they even brought us our drinks. And we only ordered two meals and two drinks so idk why that happened. For like 10 minutes we stared at our drinks on the bar hoping they'd bring them over haha. So service is not great. My husband got a caramel latte and I got a matcha tonic with honey. We were not wowed, drinks were just ok I would skip on them next time. Food was good! My husband got the breakfast with two eggs, bacon, and toast. He didn't love that the eggs had so many chives but said everything else was yummy. My lemon ricotta pancakes needed some more syrup but once I added that they were much better, fluffy and lemony! My son loved them too as I shared with him! A little on the pricier side but not outrageous. I think I'd come back again as I know they're newer and might just take some time to get things running a little better!

Picked up pastries for Lydia's. First impression was that the pastries behind the counter looked delicious. Second, this spot is nice, quaint and seems multi-purpose: coffee, lunch, hang-out. It seems like a place id like to spend a morning. Enjoyed my croissant, will come back for brunch soon.

Lydia's is located in the Fred shopping center on Missouri. I brought my daughter for a birthday lunch. She had the Cesar Salad and it was delicious. I had the fried chicken sandwich, it was good but I am going for the Cesar salad next time. We had a great server, Xander....great service. It's beautiful inside and we'll be back to try breakfast.

Such a cute new phx spot! There's a market / order at the counter area as well as the actual restaraunt. My friend and I just beat the rush because after we were seated it quickly filled up with the morning rush! We both ordered the scramble, which was absolutely delicious and was made with high quality ingredients. The ambience was so bright and airy.

Lydia's is located in such a fun spot! The interior gives French Countryside (or what I like to call grandma chic ). They've only been open for two months but already are packed full. We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, the overnight French toast, a side of eggs, fennel sausage and bacon. I will say the French toast and pancakes were fresh and tasted so great. The sausage wasn't my favorite it was a bit overpowering on the salt. The drinks we ordered were the iced chia, honey cortado, and chocolate latte which were all very well made and balanced. All in all this place is a cute brunch spot. They do have their own parking lot but it's small and shared with other businesses so it is very limited. It is definitely worth the trip and a place I will come back to for girlfriends weekend brunch.

I was able to stop by Lydia's for coffee and a pastry. It has a cute little market in the front and a cozy patio. I am happy there is now a restaurant at The Fred. I will be back to try more food.

The service was very quick and she explained the menu to us. She made sure that the food that was we ordered was available. If it wasn't available she would recommend something else that I might like. The food was very nice.

What a great addition to the Frederick. This place is so charming and cozy. I stopped by a couple of weeks ago for brunch with my friends and we really liked it. The wait around noon was long - we waited about 40 mins. I ordered the salmon bowl and it was really well balanced. I had a taste of the French toast and it's AMAZING. I will definitely order that next time. The espresso machine was down so some of the drinks we had initially ordered could not be made. They have indoor and outdoor seating and also a very cute shop with lovely items that you can browse while waiting for your table. Parking is relatively okay and if full you can park in the adjacent parking lot which is what the majority of my group did.

Newest hidden gem brunch spot cafe located in the Frederick!!! Cute gift/marketplace located as you walk in. Absolutely delicious breakfast/lunch dishes and yummy coffee drinks. Definitely a wait for this popular place, but come early to put your name in and shop around the cafe and the many stores in the center. Friendly staff and can eat inside or out.

The vibe at Lydia's Kitchen was really nice -- a bright, welcoming atmosphere that made for a pleasant lunch. The food itself was great: the rosemary fries were crispy and flavorful, and the ranch was phenomenal -- super fresh and easily the highlight of my meal. That said, the service was on the slower side. After finishing our food, it took about 10-15 minutes before our server even came back to check on us, and waiting for the check dragged things out a bit longer than expected considering it was on the slower end at 2:30pm. The prices felt a little steep for what you get, especially compared to similar spots in the area. Still, the food quality was good and the overall ambiance makes it a nice place to try if you don't mind a slower pace.

Had a lovely brunch here! So cute and super tasty food with good portions. Enjoyed the coffee and sat at the bar. Service was impeccable and we loved browsing the cute store before we left. We will be back to try new foods and coffee!

This place has it all. Cute vibes and excellent food. For brunch I think most people go straight to pancakes or waffles. Telling you right now go straight for the French toast. It was top 3 I've ever had. Bread was perfectly soaked in the egg batter. The thing that really set it apart was the orange mascarpone. What a unique flavor for French toast! 10/10. Also the Oeufs en Cocotte was incredible. Had no idea what it was. Had to Google it and was still skeptical. It's like a thick soup egg concoction. The flavor was mouth watering, especially with the toasted bread to dip in. Don't skip this dish. Already planning on going back next week!

Coffee strong but good. Had the two egg breakfast. Home fries would be a better option than potatoes from a fryer. Like eating French fries with your eggs. Sourdough toast is good. Eggs were cooked perfectly. So many restaurants pull a medium egg request to early and it becomes over easy. These were excellent and whites were cooked with runny yokes. Thank you. Best orange juice I ever had. Fresh squeezed. Great taste. If you change the potatoes to something with a bit more flavor I would be a weekly visitor. Some onion, peppers and a bit of garlic and you would have a hit.

Really cute new spot! It has a front market with various items like food and cookbooks for sale. You order at the front and the seating area has some nice decor. The food was good too! I had the croquette monsieur, the scramble and the French toast. The monsiuer was really good as was the scramble! The French toast was good but not the best I've ever had. A place I'd go back to!

I can't wait to come back here! Came to lunch for a friend's birthday and I had no idea they had just opened. When you walk in, theres the cutest little shopping spot and coffee bar on the far end. When we got to the restaurant, everyone said how they want their house to look exactly how it was decorated lol. Everyone enjoyed their food, especially us with our Cesar Salad and chicken tender girl lunch As a Ranch person, their ranch surprised me but I did really like it. Our waitress was great and gave us a option to be able to split payments & pay at the front individually.

This place is SO cute!! Already a cute little courtyard of fun boutiques and then walk into Lydia's and it has the cutest little market area from cookbooks to different snacks and candles. I bought dill pickle mayo which has been FANTASTIC. Actual restaurant part - YUM. Had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were incredible. My friend had the seasonal scramble and loved it. Our server was the cutest, very chill and quick. If you don't like your espresso martinis creamy, then you'll like this! She strong!

Really charming place with very good food and coffee! Tried it for the first time after noticing it appeared in The Fred, with high hopes: the location is nice, the little market/shop in the front looks like a good go-to for gift shopping. Breakfast was great, all the essentials were strong: good sausage, good eggs, nice crispy and salty potatoes and bright lemony pancakes. We'll return!

Couldn't recommend this restaurant more. Have been here for brunch once before and it was so delicious. Just came for dinner and our server Zander was attentive and kind. The owner Jonathan was overly accommodating to our dietary restrictions without us asking and extremely kind. Overall the vibe is so chill and the food is phenomenal. 10/10!

Lydia's is one of my favorites places to get breakfast or lunch with my partner. The food is so fresh and delicious. My favorite is hands down the curry chicken sandwich! The ladies working here always take such good care of us and are the sweetest people. Super lucky this place is nearby!

First time I ate here the food was good, though I still had to ask for a water refill. Came back for lunch with my wife today and it was a completely different story. The hostess was busy chatting with friends instead of seating guests. She walked right past us and sat a woman who arrived after us at the bar. We could have sat there, but by then only one seat was left. She never asked who arrived first. Meanwhile, there were open tables just sitting empty while people waited. When I asked why no one was being seated, she had no answer. Having worked in restaurants as a dishwasher, line cook, busser, and server, I know what hustle looks like -- this staff was moving at a crawl. No apology from the hostess, just a "30-minute wait." When I asked for the manager, a young woman appeared, leaning in the doorway, and delivered a quick "sorry" that felt dismissive and insincere. That was it. We left. Lydia's Kitchen at The Fred is owned by Jonathan Madrigal (Berdena's), Chantell Nighswonger, and Kevin Cieszkowski. I can't imagine they'd think this is how guests should be treated, but this is what's happening on the floor. If this is the standard, it's a problem. As a business owner of 11 years, I would never tolerate my team treating customers with this level of indifference. Management needs to take a serious look at the service

The business is in a very pleasant setting and offers a wonderful selection of specialty food items and books. It offers very well prepared unique breakfast selections and fresh squeezed orange juice. The staff is very attentive and charming. This restaurant is a terrific addition to the neighborhood

Lydia's was such a pleasant surprise! Adorable atmosphere/decor, delish lemon ricotta pancakes, great cappuccino. Market had so many fun things to browse, pricey though.

Showed up 80 min before they closed and they said they were no longer seating. That's tacky. AND. Multiple employees just saw us standing there waiting by the "please wait to be seated" sign and nobody bothered to tell us!!!

Great place for brunch. Looking forward to coming back when it's cooler weather. There's a small retail shop attached that sells candles, soap, books, small kitchen things like salt and pepper shakers, etc.

We recently tried Lydia's. We were seated right away and received one glass of water for the meal. It was 113 outside and more water would have been nice. Rosemary fries came with my order - cold and tough. I asked that they be replaced. Chicken sandwich was excellent. The noise level was DEAFENING! The little shop was quaint but outrageous prices. A box of 6 caramels was $17!

Yesterday, I dined at Lydia's Kitchen and Market. This place is cute with a capital Q. The decor alone will make me come back. I love the little storefront and coffee shop, while you are waiting for a table. Great idea to keep guests busy. Think Cracker Barrel store, but with class!!! Lots of neat cookbooks, gourmet products, and also able to get a coffee while waiting. There was a line - but I got one of the last seats at the bar with no waiting. I ordered their seasonal lemonade which was a berry citrus. Tart, but sweet at the same time - a really refreshing lemonade. I opened for a Caesar Salad with Chicken and of course a side of rosemary fries, in case anyone thought I was going too healthy. The other bar patrons were having breakfast and one girl was having a burger which I immediately regretted not ordering. It was thick and juicy - and looked like a fresh handmade patty. My salad was good, the caesar dressing a really great balance of lemon, garlic, cheese and not too much anchovy. The way I like it. It was as good as a caesar can be - and next time I am going to be more adventurous. The place was buzzing and lots of very friendly staff taking care of a full dining room. They are still ironing out some bumps - too busy too fast? But give them patience - this is going to be one of those neighborhood gems for a long time!!!

What a cute restaurant! It is in an adorable courtyard with other stores there as well. They have such a beautiful outdoor patio and it's such a great space. Inside there's a little market selling cute items. I had the steak and eggs and it was delicious! I also had a sweet potato pancake à la cart. Also excellent my friend had a breakfast scramble and a couple of lattes and a pastry. Get there early as it fills up pretty quickly, especially on a Sunday. We got there right when they opened. I highly recommend this is an adorable brunch spot. Service was excellent.

01/10/2026 My friend saw this place on Instagram and sent it to me. It looked really cute, but what really got me was the Sweet Potato Pancakes. So we made a reservation for Friday 9:00AM. It's located in a shopping plaza called The Frederick. It already looks so cute on the exterior with the green patio furniture and large wooden double doors. You enter through their market first which had cute merchandise, gifts, and kitchen things, as well as a coffee bar with pastries. There was a host stand right where the market meets the main dining area. FOOD I got the Sweet Potato Pancakes and Two Eggs to Order for some protein. My friend got the Yeast Raised Waffle and scrambled eggs as well. They had some seasonal coffee and matcha drinks, but we didn't try any, as we were planning to go somewhere else afterward for caffeine. The pancakes barely had a hint of sweetness, which surprised me since it didn't come with syrup or any sweetener. The whipped peach butter was pretty good, but I'm not a butter on pancakes kind of gal. My friend did not like the texture of her waffle. It was dry and not chewy - maybe that's just how yeast raised waffles are? She did say the waffle, lemon mascarpone, and fresh strawberry paired nicely together. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. Overall, I liked the market and aesthetic of the entire place, but the food was underwhelming. I would give it 3.5/5 stars. Also, there was plenty of parking in the back when we got there at 9AM, but it was full when we left around 10:30AM. We parked in the first row, and it was difficult getting out. My car is small, but I still feel like there wasn't enough room to back out.

Have now visited a few times and service, ambiance, and food have all been consistently great! Favorites off the menu: Seasonal sweet potato pancakes (This one if for sharing! Delicious and quite filling. Great as leftovers as well. ;) Classic Double Smashburger (can order as a lettuce wrap/salad if one is carb-conscious)! Patties are delicious and accompanying rosemary French fries are phenomenal. Lydia's Salad (so colorful and full of crunch!) Oeufs on cocotte (also a dish for sharing! Heavy, but delicious) Hot cappuccino was served in a 6 oz cup and done well. Side note: as you enter the restaurant, you come across a market space first with lots of cute finds for the kitchen/home, as well as a coffee counter, before you see the maitre d'!

I already can't wait to come back. One of my new fav brunch places. The wait time wasn't too bad and the area is so cute to walk around with nearby shops and businesses to keep you busy. The inside is cozy but feels so open with all the window light coming in. We loved our waiter I wish I got his name but he was awesome. We learned that they serve the same coffee as the shop next door Berdena's. My food was amazing too I got the salmon salad and loved every bite. Music was chill. Coffee was excellent too.

Absolutely yes. Everything about this restaurant is perfect. It's a cute, cozy restaurant with a beautiful outside dinner area. Our server was super sweet and very attentive. Started off with the matcha and chocolate croissant and both were delicious. The rest of the food just went around the table so we just got a little of everything. Everything was super fresh and will definitely be back!

An adorable spot to go for brunch with the girls! I got the ouefs en cocotte and it was delicious! I do think the price was a bit steep for what it was though (a steamed egg and lots of salad) and not very filling. The french toast was great and the fruits were fresh. Service was good, very nice servers. Good experience but the food was just alright. I'd go again only for the atmosphere.

Nice little neighborhood spot. Mae sure you have time on the weekends. Gets busy like most places. The restaurant is nice and bright and open up during cooler months. Food is fresh and quality you can taste. I'm going to try and put it in my regular rotation.

I reserved for 8 people at the patio (keep in mind reservations have a maximum of 8 ppl) and it was a very cute set up! We got a circular round table under some trees and it was a sunny day with a slight breeze (we went for Sunday brunch in December). My friends and I were able to get our seasonal coffees which were all pretty good -- they have macadamia milk which was super interesting. My friends and I had no problems with our food, wait time was no problem, and our server checked on us at the right times. I've been here before with my family and the service was good back then too. This area also offers some post-brunch activities too, with some nearby stores, a really yummy cookie place, and another cafe. Overall would really recommend this place for a chill reunion with friends or a family gathering. It was all of my friends' first times here and they said they really enjoyed it! Some things to note are that the bathroom is a bit away and finding a spot in the parking lot can be tricky when it's busy.

The best new brunch find! The dirty chai on the seasonal menu was omg so good! The food, service, and ambience were exactly what we were looking for a girls morning out! Can't wait to bring my hubby back!

Our first time here. We live local. Was hoping to patronize and support a local business. Didn't have the best food experience. I wrote to them, twice 11/9 and 11/10 NO reply. Sadly, we won't be back.

Lydia's is a great concept with good food but we will not be going back. We visited for brunch -or rather tried to visit- couple of weeks ago just to be greeted by the hostess with the news that they were OUT OF FOOD!! We thought that it was a weird situation but understood that mistakes happen. But then comes last weekend when we made a reservation for 11:00 am; we were on time and waited to be seated for about 15 minutes, meanwhile we heard the hostess telling walk in customers that the estimated wait time was about an hour. We finally got seated, waited again for a while to be greeted by a server and just when we thought that we will get to try a delicious breakfast , the server announced that they were out of yeast raised waffles, oeufs en cocotte, steak and eggs, croque monsieur, pancakes, iced tea and another basics in the menu... let me ask you to imagine waiting an hour to be seated and then have them tell you that half of the menu is not available to order!!!!! I hope management gets these kind of situations under control soon, because like us, many other customers that had this happened to them will not be going back to Lydia's.
