This place is a hidden gem — friendly vibes and genuine hospitality. It feels like a little oasis right in the middle of a busy area. The bossa nova music adds a smooth touch to the atmosphere, and the food? Authentic, flavorful, and seriously tasty. I’ll definitely be coming back — it’s close to work and already one of my favorite lunch spots.

We ordered 2 coffees, 1 hot and one ice coffee. Both are watery and weak taste and didn’t taste good. They should have learned to make better cups of coffee. Food? Let’s say made by beginner cook too. It’s been a long time since the last time i was here. No improvement at all. In short, I won’t be coming back here ever again. There are so many competitions in town which are much better. The atmosphere and the outdoor seating are not too bad. It’s time to revamp their place because it’s getting stale here

Incredible authentic Banh Mi. Usually you have to go to a mom and pop shop that a little dirty and loud to get authentic Asian food. But here you get the authenticity with a modern Asian environment. They have plenty of outdoor seating with nature and indoor seating as well. The bathroom is stunning, I didn’t think I would be mentioning it but it was actually one of the cleanest, best smelling bathrooms I’ve been in at a small restaurant; they even have lit candles and interior decor in there. Highly recommend for a good meal, good times, and most importantly of all; a good poop.

The banh mi chay was absolutely delicious! There are many other unique items on the menu that I'm eager to try next time. The black ice coffee was a bit lighter than I expected from a Vietnamese coffee shop. It almost tasted like a donut shop coffee with ice added. While it wasn't bad, I hoped for a darker, stronger flavor. The service was great, the shop was clean, and the food came out quickly.

This is my happy place whenever I'm in the area. The interior is so homey and comfortable. I love the food and the owner is really cool. I get the barbecued pork sandwich. It's excellent.

We came in just before 6pm on a Sunday and I had the most bizarre experience. My group ordered 6 Banh Mi to go and then I asked if they could pack 2 bags of the Thai waffle cookies in a hard plastic container so that I could pack them in luggage. They answered "no, we don't do that." So the business missed out on almost $20 of sales or more because the staff would not use one of their plastic containers. Then I asked for beignets and cashier told me that it would be a 20 minute wait and I said no problem. But then the manager came out and said no. No we're not doing beignets were sold out. So that was obvious that they just didn't want to make them for us even though it was still an hour before closing....ok.... That's nice. So after a 5-minute wait we received our Banh mi. I ordered the barbecue pork. It was average at best. The meat was thinly sliced and not plentiful. They were really stingy on the pickled veggies as well. I asked for jalapenos and I counted three thinly sliced pieces. I hear that this place is owned by a famous Vietnamese singer. The place is decorated pretty cool and eclectic, but the furniture looks dingy, dusty, dirty and really needs to be replaced. There are many autographed pictures of celebrities around the place which is totally awesome!! You could tell that someone once took pride in the little cafe but with the bad management and generally unfriendly service, it must be a struggling business or on the way.

Very tasty sandwiches. I got the Lynda special and it was really good. The bead they use is tender in the middle and crispy on the outside. They put cilantro, cucumbers, chili, and other things and the combination of ingredients is out of this world. The decor here is really cool, too. I'll come back again, pho sure.

Lynda Sandwich is a solid place to go for some banh mi in Orange County. It's a little bit out of the way if you're in the Little Saigon area but it's right off of the 405 on Beach Blvd. which makes it quite accessible if you're on the freeway. They have a good handful selection of banh mi and drinks. My got to is usually the Lynda Special which features their recommended stuffings. I like how their bread is a little crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. The sauce complements the sandwich well. Their Vietnamese coffee is also pretty good, standard for a Vietnamese coffeeshop. The ambiance of the place is very "early 2000's Java core," if you know what I mean. There's nothing wrong with it but it's sometimes too dark for my liking inside. If I'm there during the day, I usually like to sit on the patio to eat.

Our NorCal cousin heard about this place from a friend in Maui. I got the Lynda Special sandwich and a Blended Ice Milk Coffee. The bread was excellent, and it was made to my specifications (no onions, light on the jalapeno). I always enjoy Cafe Sua Da. Hubby ordered the Beef Stew Plate. Given the choice of noodles or baguette, he wisely chose the baguette. Great for sopping up the stew broth. Very flavorful, with fresh basil leaves. We also bought a bag of caramel cookies. Nice and crunchy. The place is small, but there is outdoor seating as well. Lots of parking is the shopping center.

Big shoutout to the documentary "New Wave" by Elizabeth Ai which covers the history of Vietnamese New Wave. In addition to cover the 80s grooves and fashion, the film highlighted a period of generational and cultural divide within families and neighborhoods. It was one of the few screenings at the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival that left an impression. Many icons from that era were interviewed in the film, including Lynda Trang Dai who is the namesake of this sandwich shop. Some were dining al fresco in the blistering sunshine while the majority of the patrons dined in the cool AC. The interior of the shop was playing loungey light music, with one wall covered in portraits of New Wave stars and another with orange wallpaper with past icons in film and music. Both inside and out had plants and flowers that add to the cozy atmosphere. I got the Lynda Special which by paying with card was a little over $8. Flavorful and toasty buns, there was a good variety of cold cuts, shredded chicken, cucumbers, pickled veggies, and the special sauce. The shredded chicken was ok, while the sauce itself was creamy and well seasoned. While I still have other favorites for banh mi, this place does their sandwiches justice enough to stop by next time.

I loved everything I got!! I got the nem nuong spring roll and it had THICK pieces of pork and I loved the crunch from the rolled up crispy egg roll wrapper. The orange sauce paired perfectly with it. I absolutely love their home made mayo as well. I was throughly enjoying every single bite I would totally come here again.

The sandwich shop was empty when I came here at 6 PM on Sunday. [Parking]: Easy parking as the shop shares the same large plaza as Shun Fat Westminster Superstore. [Atmosphere]: Unique interior decor with a wall of celebrity pictures. [Menu]: According to an NPR article ( https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2015/10/31/453152297/how-vietnam-s-version-of-madonna-became-a-california-sandwich-maven ), the owner is the only one who prepares the special Lynda Sauce. The top two popular orders are Lynda Special Sandwich and beignet. Beignet comes with three flavors - original, caramel, and cinnamon. *** Beignet (original - $6): I didn't know about three different flavors for beignet and the cashier didn't bother explaining the menu so I assume these beignet I got were original flavor. To my surprise, these small bites were quite good and had more than enough portion for one person to finish! Crispy exterior and not overwhelming sweet. I actually like this dessert better than banh mi. Grilled Shredded Chicken Sandwich (Lynda homemade sauce and some vegetables including cucumber, Vietnamese pickles, jalapenos, onion, and cilantro - $7.50): Nothing special and tasted pretty mediocre. *** While I dig the overall vibe of this sandwich shop and beignet, it was hard to get excited about banh mi. Come for ambiance but lower expectation on banh mi.

Heard great things about Lynda's. Shop was super cute with abundant decor. I got the đặc biệt/ house special. It was solid! I was surprised because mine had some fried onions. The sauce was good and the bread was very good. Next time I'll get extra pate cuz it was a little dry. Came out to a little over $8.

The quality of the sandwiches has really gone down hill from a few years ago. I used to come to Lynda sandwich for a plump dac biet sandwich that had the deli meats plus grilled chicken, but on my recent visit, things went down hill and it was the tiniest sandwich sadly. What also was disappointing was that I had ordered ahead via door dash and I had to stand in line for 15 minutes to get my sandwich because they were disorganized and didn't have a pick up line. I literally watched my sandwich on the counter and couldn't break through into a pick up line.

I finally made it here after hearing about it for years. I didn't want to go with a basic sandwich, I mean, this is Lynda's restaurant after all. So I ordered the fried egg and sausage sandwich. First, let's talk about the bread. It's toasted. It's got that light springiness that only comes with fresh bread. The bread is crispy with a soft center. It won't leave your mouth bleeding like the bread at Lee's. The garlic mayo is amazing with the fried egg. I may have screwed myself over by ordering this sandwich because, as they say, once you go fried egg you ain't go back. No, no one really says that but me. Yeah, I'll never be able to order any other sandwich. The decor is very nice and friendly. I'd love to sit around if I have time. Service is very professional and friendly. I'll try the desserts on my next visit. Beignet looks amazing!

We saw this spot on a documentary called New Wave Documentary where Lynda was one of the main stars and her restaurant Lynda Sandwich was highlighted so we decided to stop by when we were in the area! The restaurant is quirky and loungey with different styles of seating set around. Gives that coffee shop vibes. There's a wall adorned with old photos of Lynda throughout her singing career. We ordered the the Lynda Special ($7.25) which is her dac biet banh mi. It is a skinny baguette as well which I don't mind because it's easier to eat while on the go. It was a unique take on 'dac biet' with some cold meat, some shredded meat, and pickled radish, jalapenos, and some cucumbers. I do which they had more plentiful fillings but it was still a good amount. The star of the sandwich was the special mayo they use. It was delicious and brought the whole sandwich together. I basically forgot there wasn't pate in there because that mayo was so delicious.

usually my go to place for banh mi because i love the thit ngoui but they've been getting my orders wrong and the other day i got 2 thit ngoui and 1 special but received the opposite. Also didn't bother to check because the cashier repeated the correct order back to me too and it's on the receipt in the photo.

I was looking for bahn mi, and I literally saw the Lynda Sandwich sign while in the area. A quick glance at Yelp and I figured this was definitely a try. Little did I know some of the history behind the owner, but based on the pictures, it looked super interesting. Walking up to the store, I was surprised to see a Vietnamese motorcycle gang meet-up. Lol, not talking about the Mongols type group, but weekend warrior yuppies who enjoy the motorcycle culture. Anyway, back to the food. Ordered a Lynda special and a chicken bahn mi. I literally sat down for 3 minutes when they called my order. What quick service! I drove home so didn't eat the sandwiches right away. When I finally unwrapped Lynda's sandwich, it was intact, still warm, and the bread was not saggy or over toasted. It was perfect, and all the contents were delicious. The sauce was a nice compliment to the sandwich, and the jalapeño was fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had the chicken, and she claims that the chicken was better tasting than another banh mi dealer (that I shall not name. lol) Anyway, I would definitely return for more here.

We don't have [many] (correcting since I forgot to include the word) banh mi shops in LA, so you'd get them from restaurants that serve them. It was nice to drop by before returning, so I got a few sandwiches to enjoy at home. I go for my usual house specials and BBQ pork. It feels more like a coffee shop, which means it's a good spot to study, but it's too far, and they close early.

3.3564 stars Lynda Sandwich is not the grab and go type of Vietnamese sandwich. Instead, this place feels more like a dine-in situation type of place. I stopped by for a snack and ordered the dặc biệt ~ Lynda Special. It costs around $7 bucks which is the going rate for bánh mì sandwiches these days. It's your standard dặc biệt with all the cold cuts and veggies, but here, they curiously add shredded chicken. While it was a nice surprise, I felt like it didn't add much to the overall taste. I did appreciate the mayo + pâté ratio, but other than that, nothing was quite memorable about the sandwich . Overall, it was a good snack and a break to my bánh mì rolodex.

Ordered 2 sandwiches and 1 Bo Kho. After the cashier gave me my sandwiches. I asked where is the Bo Kho and he said he ran out of the Bo Kho which is fine, but he wouldn't give me a refund. He then told me sit down and wait 10 minutes for him to finish up with the line. I told him I didn't want to wait and he put me on the phone with Lynda. She told me get something else and not give me a refund. I personally don't think the sandwiches are that good in exchange for slow and poor service.

Would have given ZERO but wouldn't be able to post. The online order menu for vegetarian Ban Mi says $5.75, but when you walk in the chalkboard days $7.00 and the young kid says, $7.25. He stays it's an old menu but it appears to be updated December 29, 2024. Stay away....ripoff

Lynda Sandwich is a nice spot to stop by when you want a quick bite. This place is known for its unique interior and popularity attracted by various Vietnamese singers and actors/actresses. Both the Vietnamese coffee and sandwiches are made different from what I'm used to. Personally, I prefer strong and sweet coffee. Lynda's version of the cà phê sữa đá is much lighter and not as sweet. Similarly with the cà phê sữa đá say and salted coffee. If you prefer light Vietnamese coffee, I recommend giving it a try. The sandwiches were pretty solid and just enough for me to eat all by myself in one sitting (Note: it's usually difficult for me to do so in a sitting haha!) Overall, the food and service were great! The cashier was super sweet and really helpful. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're around. Hope this helps!

Lynda Dac Biet used to be good with plenty of fillings when it first opened, but it's gone downhill ever since. Now they give you just two thin slices of cold cuts in a baguette for $8. It's a very expensive sandwich with barely any filling -- you're basically paying to eat bread.

A bit cluttered, but I've known this place forever. I can't help but love the Lynda sauce enough to come back. Still, I wouldn't sit there to enjoy. It just seems empty, without music, a bit outdated and I would wonder what else there is exactly good.

Every time im in town with the family we always stop by to grab their sandwiches. They're so good. Definitely recommend! We ordered the special and bbq pork both with extra pate. Crunchy, soft, and flavorful. You won't be chewing your jaw out with her sandwiches unlike some other known places. Recommend!

They offer a solid grilled pork sandwich if you're in the area and craving a sandwich. Will not be back since it does not dethrone my favorite banh mi at THH. Definitely recommend the spot if you're a fan of Lynda Trang Dai. You'll enjoy the decor. Plenty of parking as it is in a large shopping center.

My mom and I got the banh mi dac biet to try and it was pretty good! The decor was super fun, very theme-y but I really enjoyed it. It's a nice difference from any typical cafe/banh mi shop.

Great service. Delicious banh mi. Inexpensive. Clean. Decided to make a quick stop to pick up banh mi before flying back home. Was hoping to meet the famous Lynda Trang Dai but she wasn't there. But it is alright. Her banh mi made up for it. Best tasting banh mi I've had in awhile. Love the pate, butter, and shredded chicken. It was perfect. Mad at myself because I only bought two when I should have bought more. Highly recommend.

Bread here is good, but I've been here twice and the male staff at the counter is terrible. He talks like he's mumbling in his throat -- you can't understand a word -- and his attitude makes it seem like he doesn't want to serve customers

I think the big draw to this place is that it's owned and operated by the famous Vietnamese singer. You walk into what looks like a very eclectic and crowded living room, not a sandwich shop. All the decor was interesting and overwhelming to say the least. Even the menu looks busy with crowded colorful words on multiple dry erase boards. There were a lot of options to choose from, but I got the Banh Mi Dac Biet (Lynda Special). Ironically, the sandwich itself was a little underwhelming, nothing special about the bread. The sauce and pate spread were good but the amount of meat was kinda minimal and a little dry. The pickled daikon and carrots were crispy and juicy but the cilantro and cucumber didn't taste very fresh, unfortunately. Perhaps it was an off-day.

Based on my last terrible visit few years ago , I decided to give this place another try. And look what I found in my sandwich. PLASTIC WRAPPED and A STRING . WTF ?????. WOW!!!. Such a special ingredient . Please look for yourself and I don't know what to say at this point.

Not impressed with their coffee, they use to fill it up fully but not sure what happened this time. Tasted watered down already too and that was sipping on it right after getting my order. The banh mi bread itself was good, not overly crispy and soft inside. But the filling was lacking. I went 2 hours before closing but it seemed like staff was ready to close already, which would explain the poor quality of food today. This place was my favorite spot for banh mi but today's visit is making me reconsider.

This is my most favorite sandwich shop. They have the best tasty sandwiches that there is no other sandwich shop compares with. My favorite is Banh Mi dac biet. Keep it up with the good food quality and don't ever change the recipe. Thank you Lynda Sandwiches

I was really excited to try Lynda Sandwich for the first time, especially after hearing so much about it. I even got to meet Lynda herself, which I initially thought was a cool bonus. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly faded -- and not for reasons you'd expect. I have serious food allergies to dairy and peanuts, so I asked if the "Lynda Special" contained either. Her employee was kind and immediately offered to check in the back to be sure. But while they went to check, Lynda herself smirked and said, "Why would it have those allergens?" -- as if it were a silly question. That one comment showed a shocking lack of awareness. Food allergies can be fatal, and as a business owner serving the public, it's imperative that she knows what's in her food and treats those concerns with seriousness and care. Ironically, her employee showed more professionalism and empathy than she did. That alone speaks volumes about the values of this place. I won't be going back, and I truly hope Lynda takes food safety -- and customer respect -- more seriously in the future.

I decided to look for new viet sandwich places since I always go to Pickle (still my number one favorite). I saw Lynda recommended on Reddit and stopped into. I don't know her as a singer, but read the reviews on Yelp and yt. Got the dac biet no onions, regular for husband and pork roll for my child. Added extra pate. It's really good! I thought we'd still be hungry as the sandwiches appear smaller (I saw Lynda recommended YouTube vid of Lynda saying she doesn't want a lot of carbs in her sandwich) but the filling is skimpier but we were pretty full. I was really doubtful of the beignets since I think some were in the front in the case but they made ours fresh! I don't think anyone has mentioned them in a review in some years. I think it has condensed milk at the bottom or could be just melted sugar. The beignets are small and they slightly softer than Cafe Du Monde's. Delicious nonetheless, I like them better than Disney's Tiana's kitchen version. The cafe has great vibe and bathroom is clean. Love it here. The workers were nice but seemed unhappy. Hope Lynda is being nice to them! Oh and I don't much like the Vietnamese coffee, strong. Had them add more milk and condensed milk but it was still way strong. Doesn't beat pickle for me except for the dac biet, but a nice alternative. I will be back! Oh and way better quality than banh mi che cali. Quality has been pretty bad since Covid. Not a fan of daikon and carrot or radish.

There are many things that stand out. Many know of Lynda, the renowned singer and entertainer. The bread in the sandwiches I had were superb, I needed to say that.

My go to bánh mi spot, they are always pretty consistent. I like their bread more compared to other spots. I always get to-go.

The food here is usually great, and I typically have no issues with the service--until today. I placed an order online and came to pick it up, only to be informed that they were out of one of the items. When I told the cashier that I hadn't received any notification about this, he just shrugged and said, "I updated the order." Since I had already made the long drive, I decided to order a different item. I waited for 15 minutes and still haven't heard my number being called. The cashier noticed I was waiting but didn't check on my order until I asked him to please check. He then returned to tell me, "Oh, they are just now working on your order." He then nonchalantly added that the machine didn't print the ticket. Very disappointed with the service.

I haven't gone here since junior high which was about 10 years ago. Was a weekend spot my grandpa and I would go to after golfing at mile square park. Usually very hip music and I he hustle and bustle of all the customers enjoying their food, drinks and convos with each other. Food is great here. I used to be a avid fan of a classic Banh mi spot ngl but this little gem has been my go to recently. I'm a diehard fan now of their grilled beef sandwich packed with delicious flavors of peanuts and lemongrass. Along with grilled shredded chicken sandwich that is savory, sweet and oh so garlicky. Let's not get started on their Viet iced coffee which has actual roasted flavor in it and perfect amount of the liquid gold known as condensed milk. I love this spot and it's a must if you are ever in the OC.

Very rude customer service, the bread was very stale and wasn't the usual size. When spoken to the employee of this establishment she was very hostile. Would never comeback here again! The price was $8.10, after tax. Very pricey compared to other Banh Mi shop in Little Saigon!

If you want the best chicken Banh Mi sandwich, then this place is for you. I've been to so many Vietnamese restaurants and sandwich shops, and this one tops them all. Why is it the best. Two main reasons. Let's start off with the bread. It's the best tasting bread for a sandwich. Very fresh and not stale or chewy. High quality stuff. Then there's the chicken. If you look inside, you'll see it's shredded chicken with not fat pieces. A lot of Vietnamese places give you fat pieces, and don't shred the meat good. Not Lynda's Sandwich. Everything is precise. The vegetables are fresh, which consists the pickled shredded carrots & radish. The cilantro, cucumber slice, and jalapeño slices. This sandwich never gets soggy, which is another important part of why their sandwich is so great. You can eat it the next day, and still tastes amazing.
