"Lynmar’s multi-course Lynmar on Your Own lunch pairing ($110, available Thursday to Sunday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) is a totally safe and contactless version of their iconic group lunch experience. Chef David Frakes, who cut his teeth at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco and spent 10 years as executive chef at Beringer Vineyards, prepares a light and fresh picnic-style meal paired with half a bottle each of Lynmar Chardonnay and pinot noir. From the crushable popcorn to the Cookies & Cream panna cotta, there’s unlikely to be any leftovers. Enjoy with a view of Lynmar’s gardens and vineyards." - Jess Lander

By far our favorite winery on this Sonoma trip. From the gorgeous gardens to the excellent hospitality, this is a must stop for anyone. Oh and the wine? Fantastic. Every single one we tried was outstanding. We all kept saying this might be the overall best wine tasting experience we’ve had anywhere. We never sign up for the wine clubs and halfway through the tasting, my husband and I looked at each other and said “you’re thinking what I am, right?” Left with a few bottles and can’t wait to get our first shipment this fall (and come back to do a food and wine pairing)!

Google
I’ve never actually eaten here, but my brother and his fiancé went and loved it! “It was SO good - I don’t even know what all the flavors were but it was dynamic and perfectly cooked!” The wine pairing was beautifully paired too!

Google
I would give it 6 stars if I could. What a wonderful experience. The place and view ... breathtaking (have to admit, that the amazing weather was also a key factor). The food ... delicious ... the chef could run a high-end restaurant. The wine ... great pairing with the food. Tried a few additional and was impressed with some if them.

Google
We had a delicious tasting with Pam yesterday. We have been Lynmar members for years and each time we visit we fall more and more in love with it. The Chardonnays, Pinots, and overall experience is second to none. We can't wait to go back again soon.

Exceptional wines served by knowledgeable hospitality staff who are passionate about wine. Beautiful garden and vineyard views that are the perfect setting for wine tasting. If you appreciate well crafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines made in the traditional Burgundian style, this is the place for you!

Had an amazing time here with my husband. The wines were good & service was fantastic but the best part was the beautiful gardens where they grew both flowers and fruit/veggies. They encouraged us to take our wine, walk through the grounds, and enjoy the strawberries and cherry tomatoes that were abundant in the garden. I'd absolutely recommend stopping here!

Why it took me a year and a half to write this review will always be a mystery, COVID perhaps? In any case I will say that my girlfriend and I are not Pinots fans but we love Chards. We arrive to this winery as the first stop in Sonoma after a full week in Paradise-Napa (staying at Paloma Vineyard). Andrew Lynch was our server and he was super accommodating and friendly, we started with some of their Chardonnays which we really liked, then we moved to the Pinots that we found a bid acidic, which translate to a good aging potential and we also had something to eat that I cannot recall now. The whole experience was super good, the place is beautiful, and the facility is modern with a comfortable setup and nice views. We bought a couple of bottle of an older vintage of their top Chardonnay and it turn out they weren’t as good as the current releases. Just a side note! Enjoy Lynmar Estate and ask for Andrew Lynch.

Delicious wines! It was a beautiful winery with gorgeous gardens and warm friendly service. Thank you Erin for a wonderful time!

Yelp
Lynmar is our happy place. The vineyard and their gardens are breathtaking, the wine is incredible, their kitchen is smart, creative and accommodating (allergies in our party) and beyond that, the service goes above and beyond expectations. They treat you like family. I can't wait to be back there this summer.

Yelp
Came for the collector's lunch and it did not disappoint. We were a few minutes early and they encouraged us to take a walk around the property and enjoy the view of the wildflowers, fruiting trees, small redwood grove and rows of vines. The lunch itself was delicious, well-paced in terms of timing, and the staff were a pleasure to talk to. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
The most beautiful property and divine wine. Must say.. If you're lucky enough to have Kate as your guide, you've truly lucked out - if at all possible, I highly recommend requesting her as your guide. She's basically a private somm for your tasting, with immense passion for not just Lynmar but the industry itself and has amazing depth of knowledge not only for parcels of land, history and just about everything I can think of - she's so friendly and charming, truly a joy to spend time with her. Oh and she's a huge foodie as well - massive bonus!

Yelp
Beautiful ambience with a gorgeous flower garden and fantastic service. I liked their pinots.

Yelp
This is one of the most beautiful wineries and vineyard properties in the Russian River, in my opinion. We became members the first time we visited. The wine, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, are spectacular from the pour, to the nose to the taste to the finish. The garden is a beautiful spot to taste with views of the lush garden and the vineyards beyond. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Chef Frakes prepares fabulous food that pairs so well with the wine. Try the lunch. It is absolutely 5 Star.

Yelp
Beautiful and intentionally designed tasting room. Made a tasting reservation for a Thursday at 11am and were immediately escorted in, ordered sparkling rose, and seated at a table by the fireplace. Not a bad way to start a Thursday! Our host was knowledgeable and enjoyed geeking out on what makes their Pinots unique. If you enjoy cold-weather pinots, this small production winery is waiting for you! Lynmar is also known for their Chardonnays, which are very traditional in terms of oak and vanilla notes. To pair with the tasting, they provide complimentary house made popcorn- today's was a butternut squash infused, salted popcorn and it was divine. Paired very well with the rose and chardonnays. We also ordered some nibbles to share- their vegetable purse and soup. Both were exquisite and I recommend indulging while you are there. Ended up purchasing a bottle of their 2018 Wendling Vineyard (Block E) Pinot; which is a sign I would return and recommend for others. Cheers to enjoying good wine in a beautiful place!

Yelp
When I write a review I very rarely address the cost first, but I am surprised to find that most reviewers do not mention that the tastings here can be very expensive. We had a flight tasting for four. The wines were outstanding, there is no question about that, and the person who facilitated for us was also excellent, no complaints. But for $250 to have only some popcorn to nibble on between wines seemed a bit tacky to us. The gardens are lovely as well, so that sitting on a lovely day and tasting wine is really quite special. We bought several bottles. Later: my point was not to criticize the cost of the tasting per se, but to suggest that popcorn was inappropriate. A bit of cheese and crackers or something similar do not cost much.

Yelp
What a TREAT! Our friends treated us to a belated birthday lunch for my husband at Lynmar Estates Winery. It was amazing. The chicken dish was the most tender any of us have ever had in our life! Brined for 12 plus hours then marinated in yogurt and spices. They are known for their special popcorn. We were confused by the menu making suggestions on where to place food on our dishes but then realized they bring it out Covid Picnic style so you "do your own thing". Their chardonnays and pinots are exceptional - small production. Lovely day, amazing gardens - it was so lovely - thanks to our friends for such a treat!

Yelp
If you haven't been to Lynmar, put it on your list right away. We were referred by the dentist that we both go to. He is a Pinot Noir guy. Our dentist knows wine and wisely chose Lynmar. Aaron helped teach us about the Chardonnays and the Pinots, which were excellent. We learned a lot about the way they are produced and the more subtle flavors. The Pinots were my favorite and Aaron gave us a great lesson on what makes them different from each other. The winery itself is breathtaking - they have flower and vegetable gardens and so many vineyards. Olive trees and trellises are on one side, paths are everywhere so you can wander through the gardens. I loved the small touches like the homemade popcorn with butter and olive oil. The chef makes it with a special blend of salt and dried marigold petals. It goes well with their beautiful Chardonnays. I also love the Moulton-Brown soaps and lotions in the bathrooms. The interior of the tasting room is stunning with the wood and modern light fixture. I cannot, cannot wait to return with my family. Thanks Aaron for being an incredible host! Glad I bought some good Pinots!

Yelp
The only description would be...Exemplary! Absolutely superb experience of food, wine and environmental serenity. Those Lynmar Pinot Noirs are truly magical representing the Estate vineyards. The Chardonnay and bubbly just adding joy to our lunch. The food preparation is second to no restaurant anywhere in Sonoma County and beyond. Pam our hostess was funny, genuine, knowledgeable and always helpful with extra tastings and pours. The gardens filled with color and vibrant textures accompany abundant life including bees, dragon flys along with humming birds. Serenity is upon us. Thank you for a special afternoon Lynmar. Enjoyed and appreciated. Bon Appétit and Chin Chin! Russian River Valley Magic!

Yelp
I was so excited for our girls lunch! However our waitress "Manda" reassured us this was an "exclusive winery experience". She made every effort to remind us that we were not their ideal clientele,'deprived us of tastings, and reinforced us that "crackers" were not part of the lunch tasting. You be the judge. $110 for a lunch tasting and not receiving a 5 star experience.... Btw a girlfriend and I have been sitting in the lounge for 20 minutes now and the only one who has acknowledged us is our lovely Latino waiter. ******************* Update: shortly after I submitted this review the manager asked us to leave the sitting area because others were trying to enjoy private tasting. He suggested we go to the "redwoods". I would understand if we were disruptive, but we kept our convos to a quiet "spa" level. I assure you their VIP tasting peeps were not interrupted by us. And why have a room of inviting couches if your guests are not allowed to sit there? For the record we asked for a tasting and our lovely waitress Manda informed they were not "offering tastings". Is this the kind of hospitality you would expect when visit wine country?

David J.

Yelp
Incredible wines. We had a brilliant duck lunch today. Bought five different Pinot Noirs. Amazing food. Delicious wines. Lynn and Anisya Fritz are accomplished winemakers. Very good value.

Karen G.

Yelp
Our server was super fun and snarky and funny. The wines were tasty and worth the visit. The seating area was shady and the tables huge. They had told us to come early to " enjoy the gardens". If you are a gardener, they are just gardens. No biggie. If you aren't that familiar with California gardens - you'll love all the colors.

Yelp
I had been to Lynmar many years ago and had a great time. However, this experience (or lack there of) was quite different. We we were driving past the tasting room on a Monday and wanted to do a tasting. As we were pulling up into the drive, we saw a sign that said reservations were required, so I called from our car to see if they could accommodate and mentioned that they were full. So then I ask if I could show my husband the grounds and the woman said no as it wasn't open to the public. (Are all wine tasters "the public"?) At that time our conversation ended, so I got out of our car to get something out of our trunk for our toddler. And then a woman (the manager?) comes out of the front tasting room door and stands looking at us as she talks to construction workers who also turn around and look at us. (This is where you get the one star). Awkward an unnecessary. So not warm. So not inviting. Never going back again. And actively avoiding Lynmar and their wines. So many other great options in RR to focus on instead.

Yelp
I cannot say more about Drew, Rich, and the staff at Lynmar. Their wine is unparalleled in our book with their amazing Pinot Noir's. We came into town to visit family and had the best time at Lynmar with their gorgeous views and garden, great food, and truly wonderful wine pairings. If you are looking for something special I would highly recommend checking Lynmar out. You do need to make a reservation ahead of time. We had an Adam's Vinyard Pinot Noir that we took home that was outstanding!

Courtney C.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Lynmar looking for wineries that would be open on a Monday afternoon. We thought we needed a reservation (due to the sign at the gate) but were welcomed with open arms. I can see this winery filling up VERY QUICKLY on the weekend due to the wonderful ambiance. Lynmar has a large garden you can walk through with a variety of vegetables and flowers for their farm to table appetizers you can order while tasting. Drew was extremely knowledgable and friendly about the wine and the Sonoma area. He taught us a bunch of things we didn't previously know about and I am so glad we were able to meet him! Not only would I come here again on my next visit to Sebastopol, I wouldn't see anyone besides Drew to conduct the tastings. Well done, Lynmar!

Galina L.

Yelp
Lynmar is one of my favorite wineries. Their Chardonnays have everything I love about Russian River Valley wines - smooth, balanced and effervescent. Pinots are refined, velvety with the right level of depth. Tasting room itself at least on a weekend needs a reservation. Grounds are gorgeous and if they still do garden tours, I highly recommend it. Staff is always knowledgeable, but they can get busy. We had lunch there a few years back food was delicious and portions sizable. I would rush through the experience allow enough time to linger and enjoy.

Gene W.

Yelp
Forgot to mention, if you see Chef David Frakes, ask him about any food question you may have. He has so many awesome things up his Chef Apron. Vino Geno

Yelp
Bambie's favorite pinot noir winery in Sonoma County. Elegant vintages. Smooooth... In the summertime the tasting patio is one of the loveliest views in the county. Open your wallet for the premier level tasting flight, it's well worth the time and price.

Mary K.

Yelp
Loved our visit here. They have delicious Pinots that we knew of thanks to friends who are wine club members. Get a reservation. If you don't have one, you can get in if they are not booked. You are seated at your own table with attentive and knowledgeable hosts who guide you through the tasting and even offer you extras if you are interested. You can walk the gorgeous grounds and gardens while tasting which we loved. They leave you alone to enjoy your wines and come back when they sense you are ready for another. We were never rushed and there's a menu if you want to add on some food (extra cost) during your tasting. We went early so we only had the gourmet truffle popcorn which was delicious. They waived our tasting fee...but we bought a ton. How could we not because the Pinots were so good plus the unoaked Chards were nice too. Only complaint was we told them we were taking the wines on the plane back and they were just put in a shaky box. Other vineyards do offer to pack them appropriately for plane travel. That's a small complaint. We LOVED it here and that was wines, hosts, location and just the whole experience!

Stevi B.

Yelp
Incredibly disappointed that we were not afforded the opportunity to try the wines other Yelpers rated so highly. Despite calling in advance first seeking a reservation and being declined, we inquired if we were able to just walk-in, in which we were told yes. Upon arrival, "Your party is too large. We can not accommodate you." We had a party of 7... We had called in advance. We were more than willing to split into a party of 4 and 3, as we are two separate families, but we were told "For the size of your party, it's taking from the experience. We would be unable to provide such service." After telling him that was ridiculous, we walked out and within a minute the gentleman followed us out the door apologizing but giving the same ridiculous response. Me to him, "So you're telling me that if we came in as a group of 4 followed shortly after by a group of 3, you would suddenly be able to provide stellar service." His response, "Well the experience would be different." Beyond pissed off at that point, I was done. He proceeds to tell me how they want to provide quality service and with a group of 7, he couldn't assure that, yet he continues "Well fine, come back in and we can provide service. We want you to have good service." "YOUR service starts the SECOND we walk through your doors. We aren't interested in your 'service'." You turned away a party of 7 (that could have EASILY been 4 and 3...)... And a party that spent over $1,000 at our previous stop on memberships and boxes of bottles. "We would love to accommodate you on another day." And he had the audacity to try and give a business card, which in hindsight I wish my brother had taken so I could give you the name of this guy. Not a chance in hell that I'd consider this place again. If THAT is the customer service provided, we have no interest at all to return. Thank you for making that a quick and easy stop... And one to cross off my list. How difficult would it have been to offer up a seat at a table, politely let us know that tastings could not be accommodated, but that we were individually welcome to the wine selections available at the bar?

Dylan C.

Yelp
My boss is a wine club member here and was nice enough to arrange a tasting for myself and two friends during our planned wine tasting trip in the area. It was fairly empty at 11:30 on a Tuesday morning, so I thought we would have the opportunity to really learn a lot about their wines, but it was a bit more transactional. We were poured a glass of wine, took it outside, and drank it without learning much about what we were actually tasting. We weren't treated poorly or anything, but I guess I had higher expectations. That being said, Lynmar is a really gorgeous winery. The tasting room itself and the surroundings are very beautiful, and the wine was spot on. The server in the tasting room did tell us a little bit about the vineyards and encouraged us to walk through them a bit to a barn on the hill (and gave us extra wine for our journey), so that was very nice. I'd be happy to come back here in the future.

Edward L.

Yelp
Disclaimer: my friend was a member of the wine club, so we got some treatment here that the common folk don't get. I have no idea if normal visitors get to visit the farmhouse. Ah, the famed Napa Valley. Located about 1h N of Golden Gate, this winery is actually pretty low key. Other than the signs, you'd think it was just some guy's house. Parking is plentiful in front. There are a couple of lots. The reception area is very tasteful, with nice large glass displays of the various bottles. There is a very nice outdoor patio as well. As part of the guided tour (see disclaimer), the girl took us out to the rolling hills and to a farmhouse, where they make their in-house balsamic vinegar. This stuff is so rare, they only let you try using an eye dropper. This is freaking good. The winery does run a "farm to table" experience, but I don't know too much about it. I would imagine this would be some really fine dining though. The wines were quite decent, but I have no idea what I had. Syrah was one of them.

Yelp
Spectacular setting with amazing wines. The view across the Laguna de Santa Rosa is fantastic and so is the garden full of flowers that always seem to be in bloom. one of the gems of the Russian River Valley and of course the Pinot Noir is second to none.

Lina C.

Yelp
Beautiful venue, excellent pinots. Arrived sunday at opening with a group of 3 and they were able to accommodate us despite not having reservations. Homer assisted us that morning: he was knowledgable, courteous, timely. He was able to give us good descriptions with each pour. We started with a comparison of 3 whites, followed by 3 pinots. What blew us away was the 2013 suzanna pinot noir. We requested to try the Block 10 but they would not open that one, much to our disappointment. They did, however pour the Lynn blend which was very good as well. We ended up buying all 3 of those. (We usually don't buy before trying something at a winery) Apparently they changed their wine club membership terms about 2 weeks ago. Different that other memberships, they do not offer any member discounts on bottles/cases. Similar to other clubs, offer customizable shipments. Overall we had a lovely time, enjoyed the settings, and the excellent pinots. Thank you Homer and Lynmar for a memorable first visit! We look forward to trying the 5 sisters next time!

Yelp
I've been to many wineries in Sonoma County, and have those that I tend to visit more frequently than others, and Lynmar has now become one winery I'll visit often! I fell in love from the minute I walked in the door. Talk about gorgeous beyond words! The winery itself is lovely, but the grounds are absolutely spectacular. The most lush, colorful mix of flowers, vegetables and herbs that I've ever seen at a winery. At first I was more excited about the winery itself than the wine...but that was before I tasted anything. They have excellent Pinot Noir and although I'm not all that into Chardonnay, they do it right at Lynmar. The staff was very knowledgeable, lighthearted and had a sense of humor. They were welcoming and I didn't get a snooty vibe from anyone working in the tasting room. There was one girl in particular that took good care of us, and I wish I could remember her name... Just go to Lynmar and experience a little slice of wine country heaven. I know there are plenty of wineries in the area to visit, but this one stands out among them. Just go. You will love every minute of your time there.

John K.

Yelp
Just go and enjoy the Lynmar experience. Yes, I will suggest the Chardonnay; it was that good. I truly identify with pinot noir but when a chardonnay is coalesced into an epiphany it would be a travesty not to mention it. As for the Pinot Noir, just go and enjoy the Lynmar experience!

Mark O.

Yelp
Have been to Lynmar several times and have always had good, pleasant service and not stuffy, even though they have higher end prices. The patio is peaceful, overlooking the Laguna and hills in the distance and the gardens are a riot of color. I like that their Chardonnays bring out the true flavor of the grape and not an oakey butter bomb. And their true speciality: Pinots are excelllent across the board. The Redwood grove picnic area is peaceful and perfect for a warm day. Make sure you reserve however!

Karen S.

Yelp
The Lynmar Winery is perhaps the most beautiful in California, and that's saying a lot. The building itself is spacious and bright, with high ceilings and large windows. A large patio has a phenomenal view of the vineyards to one side and down to a protected wetlands below. You can also sit in their garden, which has many edible plants and herbs. Definitely take advantage a boxed lunch on the patio if you can (must be reserved in advance). I've also had a chance to stay at the guest house, which also has those stunning views. It's a bit on the pricy side for a house rental, but you get several perks like access to tastings and the fact you can just stroll down. There are a number of great wine producers in the area to visit, and the Underwood Bistro in neighboring Graton is a real gem if you want to eat out. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of standard stock items (condiments, vinegar, utensils)--so bring your own if you can. The wine is excellent, and they are one of the top Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in the Russian River, which is my favorite viticultural area in California. As you move into their price range, though, you are paying for a particular style and I did have friends of mine who preferred other producers at that price point. They have the usual wine club system, and it's the best way to get their wine. It's rare to see it in wine retailers across the country. Lynmar should definitely be a stop on your wine country tour.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
My new favorite winery! Beautiful gardens, with fruits and veggies. Wine is tasty but the outdoor experience was more exciting for me.

Sarah T.

Yelp
This is by far our favorite winery experience when visiting California. The wine is superb and the gardens are absolutely stunning!

Tom D.

Yelp
Lynmar is beautiful facility in the heart of the Russian River Valley. You can sip your wine at the bar inside but with some gorgeous views and comfortable seating outside, that is the place to be. One advantage of the location is there is always a nice breeze coming across Quail Hill so you never really feel the heat on a hot day. We visited with a club member and were treated to a number of very Chardonnay and Pinot Noir's. They represented a range of styles from highly aromatic with good acidity to more lush and polished wines. All were very good. Starting in 2012 a new winemaker took over and IMO the quality has improved across the board and the oak treatment has come down. There is a fee for tasting their wines but you will be hard pressed to fine a better place to relax, sit back and sip some excellent pinot noir and chardonnay.

Aaron M.

Yelp
I love tasting in the Russian River area because it feels more like the Sonoma of 10 years ago. Dark damp tasting rooms lined with wine barrels, and the winemaker himself is there to hang out with you and tell you about his wine philosophy. Wine tasting is free and everybody is there to celebrate the joy that is good wine. Lynmar is NOT that. Lynmar is new-school fancy wine tasting and seemed a little pretentious to me. If your idea of a perfect wine tasting day involves a limousine picking you up from your loft in the Marina, this is the place your driver should take you and you'll have a lovely time. The garden is stunningly magnificently beautiful, and you'll be happy and comfortable sipping from elegant Reidel glasses. It was all very classy, but it felt too formal. $10 per person bought us 4 tastes: two chardonnays, a pinot noir, and a syrah. They brought us our wine and left us alone. There weren't any tasting notes, the woman that poured the wine was friendly enough, but only stayed long enough to pour and didn't tell us anything about the wine. It was just the two of us sitting on the lovely patio drinking wine and enjoying the view. It's clear that there are lots of folks that enjoy this kind of wine tasting, and if you're the right type, this winery will please you to no end. It's just not my style. It all felt too sterile, too manufactured, and definitely too formal. I would not recommend this place to most of my friends. If you do visit, bring some cheese and bread with you and make this your picnic spot. The garden really is gorgeous.

Vin M.

Yelp
Great location and setting to enjoy their chardonnays and Pinot's. My wife and I stopped there (with an appointment ) as we were in the Russian River Valley area and loved it. Their manager Mike was very knowledgeable and the hostess ( Katie ? Maybe I got her name wrong) was very patient and explained everything well. It's a boutique wineyard with under 10K cases a year so I'd say their exclusive tasting at 90 per person is on the high side. Go for the $30 per person tasting which is good too. Walk around the property and visit the redwood grove. I ended up joining the wine club which is great.

Olivia H.

Yelp
I don't even know where to start with this one. I had the opportunity to experience Lynmar this past fall and had an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. Myself and 3 friends were in town for my birthday and as Lynmar was significantly off the route we had mapped out, in order to make it work it had to be our first stop on our first day. That meant a long drive, wine at 10:00 am and a lot of hedging our bets since none of us had ever been to the estate or tasted their wines. We were operating on research alone when we chose Lynmar and by the time we left the 4 of us were absolutely thrilled. Firstly, the grounds at Lynmar are absolutely gorgeous. The gardens are so well done, they have vines as far as the eye can see and the tasting room and patio are picturesque. As if those aspects weren't more than enough; Ronda our educator was incredible. So knowledgeable, so passionate and not the least bit of a wine snob. She shared some of her personal favorites, tips and tricks for tasting that we absolutely loved and really made it an experience vs a simple tasting. We walked the gardens with our wines, tasted cherry tomatoes off the vine and I liked it so much that I signed up for their one case allocation club. If I could only recommend one place as a MUST GO in Wine Country, it'd absolutely be Lynmar. *Update: I plan to increase my membership to the 2 case allocation club cause the wine is to die for!

Yelp
It was a time for a wine tasting road trip and we decided to check out Sonoma County and the Russian River Valley area instead of our regular trip to Napa. Our first stop was Lynmar Estate Winery (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lynmar-estate-winery-sebastopol?select=4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw#4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw)and we arrived shortly after they opened at 10am. The winery is very modern and is on beautiful grounds. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lynmar-estate-winery-sebastopol?select=4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw#oBWGBs_Sr2P_6Y4XAUPlrg) The tasting room is open, modern with high ceilings and the tasting counter probably accommodates about 10 guests. But they do have a couple of tables inside and right outside in the patio for larger groups. They have a beautiful large patio area that they open up for tastings and food service from its winery restaurant. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lynmar-estate-winery-sebastopol?select=4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw#vdJsGiZYIdJ5yYQQz8lruw) Lynmar Estates is a participating winery under the Visa Signature card program. With this card, your tasting fee is waived. Each of us had the card and the $15 tasting fee was waived. Sweet! (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lynmar-estate-winery-sebastopol?select=4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw#e5Gl2xKKj3a5ia8bUfvVbw) Peter was our server and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and about Lynmar. He described each wine, the Block from the Estate where it originated. Our tasting included a Chardonnay, two Pinots and a Syrah. The Quail Hill Pinot and the Russian River Reserve Syrah were delicious. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lynmar-estate-winery-sebastopol?select=4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw#rRa3-TsAcWU03DXtXxorwA) We had a personable experience with Peter. Talked about family, the wine business, Napa and Sonoma, and he gave us some of his other favorite wineries in the area. He even gave us a tour of the winery garden, which is the source of its restaurant's veggies. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lynmar-estate-winery-sebastopol?select=4TFkw-c_UnmaYT5U0qqjQw#v6g7csNEk6Dke5dZ2g1JNQ) Great experience at Lynmar and we'll be back.

Yelp
A lovely experience. Note it is BY RESERVATION for tastings. This is a recent change. They will accept walk-ins if they're not crowded that day, but no promises! Lovely views from the beautiful outdoor patio. Sit down at one of the large round tables in comfortable patio chairs, and be served by waitstaff who will explain the flights: three Chardonnays, three Pinots. These are not "plonk" for the mass tourists coming by busloads; these are the vineyard-specific varietals Lynmar sells. Our server was great, he chatted with us and when pouring one of the Pinots, mentioned it was from the very vineyard we were looking at, across the hills. Nice touch! Our friends bought several bottles. Compare this to a place like Ledson Castle, where we had stopped an hour before. Ledson was crowded in every room, the bars are stand-up only, and you can barely exchange a sentence with the bartenders before they have to go serve someone else or answer another question. Ledson was like Napa Valley along Hwy 29 in high summer season. Lynmar was like the Wine Country used to be. And the wines, especially the Pinot, are excellent. Guess which one we're recommending to friends? Remember: MAKE A RESERVATION!

Yelp
Wow! We love the Pinot Noirs, food options and service. We are members and had an amazing experience with our group of eight on the outdoor patio. Beautiful grounds - build in time for photos.

Yelp
This was a very beautiful winery. You need to make reservations to get in! It's easily done online. Pick from a regular tasting or pre-order lunch. We were sat at a table overlooking the vineyard and even ordered a few snacks to go with the tasting. Make time to walk around the see the grounds after. Service was a bit slow. Plan accordingly.

Yelp
This place was awesome. Yum. What else can I say. Pinot/Chard to die for Gorgeous view, great building, awesome staff, and who doesn't love a southpaw pouring for you. Maybe a left handed pour makes the wine taste better. We left Merry Edwards and were kinda bumbed because they are so highly acclaimed but this place BLEW US AWAY! so so so happy we came in. We were treated like members, not rushed even though they were close to closing, and came home with AMAZING wine. We WILL be back

Yelp
Beautiful views and good wine. My group went on a Monday, so we had all the time and attention we could ask for. The previous Sunday was supposedly slammed. So recommend the weekday if ever possible. Tasting as refunded if you bought a bottle. They had a good Pinot and decent Chardonnay. Great organic natural vegetable garden to stroll through, with peaceful bees flying about. Feel free to take your wine tasting glass with you. Gorgeous patio area with a custom made Italian umbrella that spans the width of their unique center zen area. Excellent place to relax for a few minutes before continuing the journey.

Yelp
Yikes! Can't get the Rose anymore! That was quick! Sign up for membership and get them to hold your favorites. I think the tasting guys are so sweet here. Very chill place and again, I love the Crystal thing they have going on here. Maybe that's what holds the great energy? :)

Yelp
This place is picturesque and beautiful. Vineyards surrounded by wildflowers, stunning grounds. Drew was our tour guide. Cool, friendly and knowledgeable. If you are not a huge fan of Pinots, you will rethink your position. If you are huge fan of Pinots prepare to find some new favorites. The 5 sisters and old vine really stood out as truly remarkable, but the quail hill Pinot also really popped. A solid complex group of amazing wines - this was my favorite stop of the week, a lovely surprise and we will be back!!! Their Chardonnays were also big and buttery - while we all know and love Rombauer, Lynwood's chards are every bit as good (maybe even better) - they should be in the rotation. They unveiled a remarkable new chard while we were there - the convenant - smooth, fresh and oakey!!! These will be in my cellar and served with confidence (if we want to share!!!)

Yelp
If you have to pick just one winery to choose out of Russina River area, know that this place is it! I visited here during the Barrel Tasting 2010, and instantly became a huge fan. This winery is elegant and has everything what a fine winery should have; amazing scenery, beautiful tasting room, friendly staffs, and of course superb wines. This is the best winery I have ever visited in Russian River.

Yelp
Lynmar was one of the first wineries that I found in Russian River Valley. Since then I have developed a heightened view of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Lynmar does just that. They produce elegant Pinot Noir's with true varietal characteristics of RRV Pinot with their own special touch. My favorites is their 2006 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, 2006 Quail Hill Pinot Noir, and the 2005 Five Sisters (sadly sold out now). Andrew is always there to pour for you and is very hospitable. My first time to Lynmar my friend and I were seated next to the fire place with Burgundy Riedals spread out among the table. I love the fact that they pour you all the wine in the beginning so you can take your time and see how the wine develops with decanting and go back and forth among the wines. Another time I sat outside and did the tasting. The gardens are gorgeous and they let you eat right from them. During the summer they have Pizza and Pinot nights where all the ingredients comes from their gardens. Always a fun time! Save up for their wines, but they are worth it.

Yelp
The wife and I have been wine club members here for years. We could go on and on about these elegant Pinots. Lynmar is an ultra premium winery making the absolute best Pinots in all of the Russian River Valley. The winery is beautiful, we always enjoy the the wine club events, love the staff, and the owners. Just writing this makes me want to pop a cork and enjoy a glass of one of my favorite Lynmar Pinots. But trying to pick my favorite is like picking who our favorite child is. Its impossible since we love them all.

Yelp
When touring the Russian River Valley, Lynmar is a must! Sarah was attentive without burdening us with too much information. The grounds are walkable and the bees are amazing to watch in the gardens. This was recommended by another Vineyard in the valley and didn't disappoint. Make a reservation to secure a spot at Lynmar! We got lucky and walked in but it is a rarity.

Yelp
I had a lovely late afternoon tasting here. Great wine, good food... the flowers though! Absolutely stunning!

Yelp
My favorite winery on my most recent trip to Sonoma wine tasting, if not my favorite winery visit ever! The grounds are spectacular. We felt in heaven while sitting on the patio overlooking the gardens and vineyards tasting their excellent wines. I'm not a Chard drinker and theirs were excellent. Service was very friendly. Truly an amazing winery - highly recommend!
