Lyrarakis Winery & Tasting Room

We discovered this winery by chance and were so glad we stopped. Even without a booking, they quickly arranged a tour for us – we only waited about 15 minutes. The introduction about the winemaking process and local grape varieties was fascinating. The wine tasting was fantastic – five different wines served in a beautiful pergola with stunning views. The food was also delicious, and the service was outstanding. A wonderful experience with warm hospitality – highly recommended!

As a wine lover and wine snob I always love to try and visit a local vineyard when I travel. After a bit of research I found this place, got in touch with then and as well as booking a tour and tasting they put me in touch with a great taxi company who provides us return transport as a fair price. The tour was short with some good information before we moved to the tasting. The setting and views are lovely and food was good. We ended up trying 9 different varieties of wine, my only complaint would be that I would have liked a bit of a heavier pour on each one ha! If you like wine you should visit.

We visited this winery for the picnic package. When we arrived we were offered two glasses of wine to start the tour, the tour was very informative. The best part was the picnic where we were treated like VIP’s, we had our own little spot in the vineyard to sample wines and food. Really unforgettable experience and highly recommend.

Fantastic experience. We took the picnic option which was well worth the money. We treated like VIPs and taken to a lovely quiet site for our tasting. Wine was excellent - bought 12 bottles for the villa!!

Tasting and tour were good. Lovely 5 wines tasting in a relaxed shaded area - with lovely cool breeze. You can do the tasting inside. Informative and friendly description of wines. Small informative tour, but note it's not around the winery- just the "cellar". We booked online and price is good. However, the tasting is very relaxed and we felt we had to chase to find someone to give us a tour. We'd got a taxi for a mornings tour of the area and therefore spent longer at Lyrarakis than planned. If you're on a meter perhaps try their pick up options.

Our visit to Lyrarakis Winery & Tasting Room was nothing short of unforgettable! We did the 7-wine tasting, and every single wine was a unique expression of Crete — a perfect blend of heritage and local grape varieties that showcased the richness of the region. The flavors were incredible, and paired with delicious olives and charcuterie, it was a dream for any wine lover. The setting itself is absolutely stunning — panoramic vineyard views that truly can’t be beat. A special thank you to Samantha, our guide for the tasting, who was warm, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable with her passion and insights. If you’re in Crete, this is a must-do. Highly, highly recommend!

A definite must do if you are in the area! Great hospitality and lovely wines - we did the flight of 7 tasting. If you're peckish there is also a menu of accompanying food and snacks to choose from. We sat outside undercover, as the weather was a little unsettled, but it was beautiful. We bought 3 bottles of wine to take home! 😁 Would recommend booking ahead, as we did, as the menu can get busy.

Very cheap tour, yet felt expensive. Got 5 different exquisite wines with snacks a tour free parking lovely toilets all for €20 mad price. Absolutely beautifully remote location. Lovely welcoming staff
